Jo cried in the supply closet. She felt so many emotions, and she felt like she was going to explode. She was so scared that Luna would be deaf. She imagined the kids at school making fun of Luna, and her crying in her room quietly so her mother wouldn't hear it. She imagined Luna feeling like a burden.

But that wasn't what scared her the most. She was so scared that Luna had cognitive dissonance or medical issues. And there was also the guilt. You have to be a really bad mother to not notice that your daughter has hearing problems. What if Luna has more issues that she failed to notice?

Luna saved her. She was her light in the darkness. Luna was an amazing daughter to her. She disappointed Luna because even if Mark and Alex fix it, she may have a problem communicating with the other kids.

"Jo, I heard about Luna," Lexie said, worried.

"Please don't tell me that everything is going to be fine because so many people have already told me that," Jo said.

"I'm not here to say something," Lexie said and hugged crying Jo.

It was a long day at work. All Jo could think about was Luna and Alex. She was so happy when she finally finished work and could finally see her daughter. She tried to do everything that could help her stop thinking about Alex, but obviously, it didn't work.

"I know you can't hear me, but I'm doing this for myself. Everything is going to be alright. You will always be Mama's bear no matter what,״ Jo said and kissed Luna's head.

"You know what? Let's get out of here. When we're here alone, all I can think about is the surgery and my ex-husband."

Jo stood in front of Lexie's door. She used to talk about those things with Lexie and Meredith together, but now Meredith has left and she's busy. Those three used to talk a lot about parenting. Meredith tried to pretend like it didn't bother her, but Jo realized that Meredith was really tired from all the moving things. She used to have Amelia and Maggie by her side, and now she is the only person that her kids have. Well, they have April and Jackson, but it's not the same.

Sofia opened the door. Jo hoped that she was the only kid in the house right now because she wanted to talk with Lexie alone.

"Hey Luna, how are you?" Sofia spoke with a baby voice and held the toddler. Luna giggled, happy to see her cousin.

Jo was relieved after she realized only Sofia was there. She loved her niece and nephews, but now she needed to talk to Lexie.

"Aunt Jo, is it okay if I take her to the park?" Sofia asked, desperate to hang out with Luna.

"Of course you can. You have everything you need in the bag," Jo said and smiled at Sofia.

Sofia took the stroller and left the house.

"Lexie, can I ask you a question?" Jo asked.

Lexie nodded. Based on her tone, it was evident that this was going to be a serious issue for Jo.

"What does Izzie have that I don't? Is it that she isn't so screwed up?"

"We are all screwed up. Don't think that Izzie isn't."

"You know what? He is the most screwed-up of all of us! He told me that he loved me and that he wanted to stay with me forever, and a week later, he left and never came back."

Lexie knew that no word could make Jo feel better, so she just hugged her and listened.

"I don't know what to do, Lexie. The last time I saw him, he was my husband, and everything was fine. I need to thank him for coming here? Because I don't know how I can talk to him."

"The most important thing is Luna. Luna needs her mother to be comfortable. You can do whatever you want. Don't feel guilty about it," Lexie told her.

"You are right. I need to stop thinking about Alex. The most important thing is Luna. I need to worry about her. My child."

That's it. Everything is going to be fine. Even if Luna is deaf, she can still have a wonderful life. Jo will make sure of that. No matter how many stragglers they'll have to deal with, at the end of the day, Jo takes Luna home, and they have each other. That's all they need.

Alex couldn't sleep all night. He was happy to hear that Jo had a daughter. He always knew that Jo was going to be an incredible mother.

He tried to avoid thinking about Jo all the time.

He even bought tickets for Seattle a few times, telling Izzie he wanted to visit Meredith.

Izzie went to the hospital for an emergency surgery, and Alexsis and Eli were asleep, so all he could think about was Jo. He couldn't stand it anymore to just lay there and think about her, so he started packing his suitcase. He even found a ticket for tomorrow morning. Perfect. What is he going to tell Izzie? He is going to tell her that he is leaving his ex-wife? Technically, he is leaving for his ex-wife's daughter. He is just doing his job. Taking care of kids, like he has been doing for 15 years.

After almost an hour of thinking about what to say to Izzie, he opened the phone and saw a massage from Izzie:

Hey, Arizona called me. She said that she needs you for a surgery in Seattle. She isn't sure if Sloan has already told you. Give everyone kisses from me.

Alex took a deep breath. Arizona always had his back.

He texted Izzie back:

Sloan talked to me. I just bought a ticket. I'm leaving in the morning after I drop the kids off at school.

But something was bothering him: Why does it feel like cheating? Sloan made it very clear that he was not going to see Jo. He is just going to fix her daughter, say hello to his friend, and then come back home.

Suddenly, Alex saw a little girl in his bedroom. It was his little girl, Alexis.

"Daddy, are you leaving?" Alexis asked after she saw the suitcase.

"Hey princess. Did I wake you up?"

Alexis nodded and repeated her question, "Are you leaving us?"

"Of course I'm not leaving you! Daddy goes to help a little girl hear. Your daddy is the only one who can help her."

"Where are you going? For how long?" She asked.

"Someone here has a lot of questions. You have to go to sleep now or you will be tired in school."

"Only if you'll sleep with me."

"Ok, but only for tonight," Alex said, knowing that it definitely wouldn't be the last time. He couldn't resist his kids.

"Dr Bailey!" Alex yelled when he saw her in the hallway. Bailey was very surprised to see Alex. She didn't expect him to show up again after what he had done. Bailey walked over to Alex.

When she was standing in front of him, she said, "You left us all with a freaking letter!" Bailey yelled and hit Alex a few times in the shoulder with a chart.

"Nice to meet you too, Bailey," Alex said, smiling. When he realized that Bailey was still very mad at him, he sighed and said, "Look, I'm sorry, okay? I know I was an ass and that I just disappeared, and then I left you all with a freaking letter."

"What are you doing here?" Bailey asked, still angry.

"Jo's daughter has hearing loss. Sloan called me and asked me to come to operate on her."

"Little Luna has hearing loss?" Bailey asked surprisingly.

Alex nodded and said, "They found out about it yesterday."

"I didn't know that. She didn't tell me anything about it," Bailey said.

"How is Jo? I'm not talking about just now. I mean, after I left, she was happy?

"Luna made her happy again."

"Karev? What the hell are you doing here?" Callie asked.

"So no one knows that I am here?"

"You really had the nerve to show your face here after what you've done?" Callie said, almost yelling.

"Callie! Calm down!" Arizona ran after she saw what was happening.

"You knew about that? You knew about that and you didn't tell me??"

"He is here for Luna. She needs surgery. Jo, Mark, and I decided not to tell anyone because she didn't want the rumours to spread. She needed to focus on Luna," Arizona explained.

"So Mark is in it too?" Callie asked angrily.

"Calliope! It was for Jo; she needed it."

"What is wrong with Luna?" Callie asked.

"She has hearing loss. Mark thinks that we can fix it."

"How?" Callie asked.

"I still don't know all the details. I came here as fast as I could," Alex answered.

Suddenly, two pagers went off.

"Bailey and I have surgery now. Karev, try not to do anything stupid," Arizona said.

"It's Alex Karev, Arizona. Your expatiations are too high," Bailey said.

After Bailey and Arizona left, only Callie and Alex remained.

"You are so stupid, Karev. How could you do this? How could you leave Jo with a freaking letter? You have no idea how you have hurt her," Callie said after Arizona left.

"You almost took your kid away from her two other parents. You don't get to judge me. At least I chose my children's good over my wife's."

Alex left, leaving Callie completely shocked. She wasn't proud of what she had done. She regretted it every single day. Alex knew that.

"Lexie, did you page me?" Link asked

Lexie nodded and said, "She needs all the support we can give her."

"Who?" Link asked, confused.

Lexie let Link get into the supply closet. The same one that Lexie caught Jo crying yesterday. In the closet, Jo was sitting there, crying again.

"Jo... What happened?"

"Alex... Luna..."

"Jo, I can barely hear what you're saying," Link told her.

"She had a panic attack. She still can't talk much. Luna has hearing loss. Mark checked it and thinks that he can fix it. The surgery is going to be complicated, so Mark called the only one who can do the surgery with him..."

"And this is Alex..."

"Yeah..."

"But if the surgery is risky, why is Mark doing it?" Link whispered to Lexie.

"It's not risky. It's just complicated. With Mark and Alex, we have the best chance of success," Lexie replied.

"Jo, Luna is going to be okay. She is a little fighter, and you know that," Link said.

"Mark told me anything about the surgery. He said that the complications are very low, so I'm not upset about the surgery. I'm going to see Alex again after three years," Jo said.

"You finished worrying about Luna, and now you're worried about Alex?" Link asked.

"Can you blame her?"

"I know it's going to be hard. When me and Amelia broke up, I thought she had been childish..."

Link couldn't finish his sentence before he was interrupted by Lexie.

"It's my sister who you're talking about. Watch it, Link. I mean it," she said with a serious expression.

"What I tried to say is that I know that it hurts to see the person that you love with someone else."

"Are you comparing my situation to yours? Alex left me with a freaking letter! Your girlfriend broke up with you because you didn't respect her feelings about marriage!" Jo said.

"I'm with Jo on that one. You and Amelia have gotten back together. Even after you had been an ass for a few months after your breakup," Lexie said.

"I wasn't an ass! Ok, I was a really big ass, but I was hurt!" Link defended himself. "Anyway, Jo, he is going to be here only in a few days. You still have time to prepare for this," Link added.

"Come on, we have to go back to work," Lexie said.

Thinking about helping mothers meet their babies filled Jo's mind with joy. Now it's time to help people. She can think of Alex later.

After they all left the room, they saw Callie, Bailey, and Arizona with someone. At first, they didn't recognize who it was, but then Jo realized who it was. The guy was Alex Karev.
