Seeing the person standing in front of her right now brought back so many good memories for Yua. Yua respected so many of the operators that she had known in her time, but this person and Miss Swire to Yua, they were practically her aunts.

Yua wanted to run up and hug the oni woman, but she doubted Hoshiguma would take kindly to a random girl hugging her for no reason. Yua realized she had to keep her emotions in check, so she decided to stand up from the chair she was sitting in and calmly introduce herself. "Greetings, miss; my name is Yua." The oni simply replied, "Well hello, Yua. My name is Hoshiguma, and I'll be the person escorting you under orders from Doctor Kal'tsit." Extending out her hand, Hoshiguma offered Yua a handshake.

Accepting the offer, Yua shook hands with Hoshiguma. As they made their way out of the tent, Hoshiguma and Yua decided to engage in light conversation on the way to the cafeteria. "So, Yua," Hoshiguma began, "tell me a bit about yourself; where are you from?" Yua replied, "I'm from Lungman." "Ah, good to see a fellow countryman wanting to join up with Rhodes Island," Hoshiguma continued. "There are more of us here, but currently they are at the landship outside of the city. You will meet them soon, I hope."

Yua thought to herself, "She is probably talking about my mother and Miss Swire." Hoshiguma decided to ask Yua another question. "So what did you do for a living, Yua? Anything interesting?" The young girl replied, "No, I just lived with my mother in Lungman. She passed away recently to oripathy." Yua didn't want to have to lie to a person who she saw as family, but she had to keep the fact that she was from the future a secret, so she kept with the same story she told Doctor Kal'tsit.

Hoshiguma said "Oh, I am really sorry, I didn't know that, I hope I didn't upset you by asking you." Hoshiguma looked quite solemn after this. Yua replied "It is fine Miss Hoshiguma, you didn't know so I'm not upset about you asking." Hoshiguma then said "Okay Yua, and you don't have to call me Miss, Just Hoshiguma is fine with me."

Arriving at the cafeteria, Yua's mouth began to water; she hadn't had a good meal in quite some time, and the smell of cooked food was incredibly enticing to the young girl. She was desperate for food. Walking up to the counter, Yua saw a member of the ursus race—someone she recognized as Miss Gummy, an incredibly gifted chef from what she remembered. Turning away from what she was cooking, Gummy saw two people and began speaking.

"Hello Hoshiguma, what would you like to eat?" Hoshiguma said to the bear. "Hello Gummy, I would like something meaty," she added. The bear replied, "Okay, and what would you like, Miss?.." "Yua, I would also like something meaty, please." Yua responded. Gummy then told them, "Okay, it will be ready soon; take a seat and I'll bring it over to you."

Having ordered their food, Hoshiguma and Yua took their seats at a bench table. While waiting for the food to arrive, Yua wanted to know what Rhodes Island was doing in the capital city of Kazimierz. So she decided to question Hoshiguma about it. "Hoshiguma, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is Rhodes Island doing here?" Seeing no harm in telling the girl, Hoshiguma responded, "Well, recently a Kazimierz major has just taken place, and the winner, Margaret Nearl, decided that she wants more help given to the infected. She is also infected herself, you see."

"Nearl is infected!", Yua thought to herself. When Yua saw Nearl the radiant knight fight in the major her parents took her to, she did not realize that she was infected. Then again, her mother was also infected and she did not know about it until her mother had told her. Hoshiguma continued, "So Nearl asked for our help in dealing with the infected. The Kazimierz executives were not happy with us being there, so we have been given one week to help. Doctor Kal'tsit went back to them today to ask for more time, but they refused."

Hoshiguma continued, "They want us to leave by tomorrow night, which is why there aren't many operators here now; we have been slowly returning to the landship. Tomorrow morning, the medics will help those they can, and the rest of us will pack the equipment away. Once that's done, we are heading back to the landship." Hoshiguma finished. "Why can't these people see that others need help?" Yua thought to herself. Back in her time, Rhodes Island helped who they could, when they could, with whatever limited supplies they had. Seeing that others didn't care for life really got under Yua's skin.

After hearing all this information, Gummy arrived with the food they had ordered - two large steak meals. Thanking Gummy for the food, the two of them immediately began eating. After finishing her meal, Yua thought, "That steak was amazing; it feels so good to have proper food." It was getting late now, so Hoshiguma told Yua, "Come with me, and I'll take you to where you will be staying for the night." Getting up from the table, Hoshiguma led Yua to a small tent. Inside was a small bed and a foot locker.

"I know it isn't much, but hopefully you can get a good night's sleep, I'll come pick you up in the morning." Hoshiguma said as she left the tent, leaving Yua alone. Taking her boots off, Yua sat down on the bed; today's events had taken their toll on her. She was looking forward to sleeping in a bed instead of under a tree.

Lying down on the bed, Yua's thoughts drifted to the future and how things were so much calmer in the past. She still couldn't believe that Doctor Kal'tsits plan had worked and that she was here, getting the locket from her pocket. Opening it up, Yua gazed upon the picture. Seeing the picture, Yua thought of everyone who had gone, "Mother... Father... Everybody. I won't let you down, I'll make sure to prevent the future from happening, I promise you."

Putting the locket back in her pocket, Yua's eyes started to feel heavy, fatigue setting in quickly. Within minutes, the girl's eyes finally closed and she fell asleep.

Yua found herself alone in a white void, and as her younger self. Looking around, she couldn't see anyone but herself. Hoping to find someone, she called out "Hello." Yua didn't hear any response, so she hoped to find any signs of life. She ran around the white void, but wherever she went, she couldn't find anybody. The young girl felt alone and afraid, so she curled up and began to cry.

Eventually, a voice was heard from behind her: "Over here, Yua." Turning around toward the voice, Yua saw a sight that brightened her spirits. She saw her parents, Hoshiguma, Swire, and Amiya—her family. No longer feeling alone, the girl got up and ran toward them. As she was getting closer, however, they began to change.

Tentacles started to sprout from their backs, their bodies mutating into grotesque, horrifying monsters. They had changed from the people she loved into the sea creatures she despised. Suddenly, Yua found herself in the midst of chaos and destruction. The seaborn were surrounding her; she couldn't defend herself, she couldn't get away, she was trapped. Curling up, she screamed, "No! No! Go away!"

Yua woke up screaming; eventually, after calming herself down, she realized, "It's just a dream." A voice was heard outside the tent she was in: "Yo! Yua, you awake?" It was Hoshiguma. Yua responded to her, "I'll just be a minute, Hoshiguma. Just getting myself ready." She put on her boots and walked out of the tent to meet Hoshiguma.

When the oni woman saw Yua, she noticed she looked pale. Hoshiguma asked her, "Are you okay, Yua? You really don't look too good." Yua simply replied, "I'm fine." Hoshiguma didn't buy her answer, but she wasn't going to push the issue; if and when Yua was ready, she was sure she would tell her.

After this the two of them walked over to the cafeteria; however, when they arrived, they found that the cafeteria had partly been taken down already, and several operators were already starting to pack equipment away and put it into vehicles. When the two of them approached Gummy about breakfast, she told them that only dried fruit was available, as all cooking equipment was on a vehicle.

After eating some dried fruit, the two of them got to work in helping put all the equipment away across the camp. While taking down tents and putting items away, Yua couldn't help but feel she was being watched. However, whenever she looked around, she could not find anybody suspicious. Deciding she was just being paranoid, Yua continued with the task at hand.

After the entire camp had been dismantled, it was just going on roughly four in the afternoon. Doctor Kal'tsit approached all the operators present and said, "Me and Gavial will be heading back now to give an update to the rest of Rhodes Island about what has happened here; other medics are still giving out treatment to the infected, so when they are finished, please transport them back with you."

Doctor Kal'tsit left to head into a vehicle. Hoshiguma then said, "We have a bit of time; let's head into town and grab a quick bite to eat before we head back." Hoshiguma decided to take Yua to a small cafe in the plaza. They grabbed some Kazimierz food, and Hoshiguma paid for it. When they finished, they headed back to where the camp used to be.

On arrival, they were approached by a black-haired lupo woman. The woman spoke to Hoshiguma, "Hoshiguma, me and Exusiai will take the vehicle carrying the medics as they have now finished; you and everybody else follow us afterwards." Hoshiguma replied, "Roger, Texas. We will be right behind you." Before Texas left, she noticed Yua and introduced herself. "Hello, I am Texas, a member of Penguin Logistics. Nice to meet you." Yua replied, "My name is Yua, Miss Texas. Nice to meet you." Texas nodded and then left.

Hoshiguma and Yua then got into a vehicle carrying equipment, Yua getting into the passenger seat. As they started driving, Yua was remembering about The Texas from her timeline; she was quite cold from what little she remembered of her, sadly as she was killed quite early on during the Seaborn's attacks on Terra, she never got to know her that well.

After roughly an hour of driving, they arrived at the Rhodes Island landing site. As Yua saw the landing pad, she was hit by a huge wave of nostalgia; she had many memories here, both good and bad. Getting out of the vehicle, she felt as if she were back home in the future. Lost in a daydream, she didn't notice Hoshiguma behind her until he tapped her on the shoulder. She then jumped up, startled. "Whoa there, didn't mean to scare you, Yua."

Taking a few seconds to gather her composure, she asked Hoshiguma if she needed any help with anything; Hoshiguma replied, "No, we will sort out the equipment, you go and get your medical examination done." Thanking Hoshiguma, she then headed up the ramp towards the entrance of Rhodes Island.

However when she got to the entrance, Yua was met with a sight that froze her to the spot. She saw Doctor Kal'tsit talking with a man in a long black trench coat with a black helmet and visor around his head, a man who she knew very well.

The greatest strategist in the world...

The person whom her mother loved...

A person whom she had not seen in nearly a decade...

The Doctor of Rhodes Island...

Her father...

Turning away from his conversation, the man approached Yua and simply said, "Hello there, I'm the Doctor..."
