Chapter 15,
Mineta woke with a yawn. She couldn't believe how easy it was to fall asleep. Could it simply be Pleasantville? Or the joy of living life for yourself? Or was it possible that her restful sleep was due to a certain oblivious jock who plowed her so hard she could barely walk. She giggled to herself and sat up.
"Man, what a good night." She uttered lazily as she stretched a little. And as she did this, she realized how true her words were. Eijiro really had some wisdom when it came to sex. Being penetrated was actually fucking awesome. A part of Mineta wondered if it was possible to be addicted to sex. It must be right? That's how sex addiction works, and people who are in the sex industry, right? Oh, who cares? It was a bright shining day. She got dressed and went down the stairs to find Eijiro and Midoriya in the living room.
"Morning... what are you doing?" Mineta asked. Midoriya paused from changing channels to briefly glare at her, but otherwise ignored her.
"Midoriya wanted to see if we can contact Alt on a different channel." Eijiro explained and Mineta nodded.
"I'm guessing it hasn't been all too successful." Mineta said as she eyed Midoriya.
"Not as of yet." Eijiro said and Mineta rolled her eyes.
"Are you seriously giving me the silent treatment right now?" Mineta asked Midoriya who scoffed.
"Would it matter if I am? You don't listen to what I have to say anyways; so why talk at all?" Midoriya said and Mineta glared at him.
"Say something worth listening to, and I'll consider it." Mineta said and Midoria stood up and faced her.
"Do you have any idea how fragile this world is? Just the very concept of you not dating Ship altered the world; I told you that. And then you turn around and have sex with him! I mean My God Mineta, what is wrong with you? He's not real and your not a woman!" Midoriya said angrily and Mineta's eyes widened in hatred.
"Oh Skip is very real. More then that, I'm willing to bet that he's more of a man then you are. And you know what, maybe I'm not a woman, and maybe I'm not a man right now either, but I'll tell you one thing I do know. After years of trying to win over girls and trying to get them to like me, it was nice to be won over for once." Mineta said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"But... he didn't win you over. You just chose to have sex with a man, a fake man, who has never had an impulsive thought ever." Midoriya said and Mineta scoffed.
"If that's true, then the boy is a sexual savant." Mineta said and Midoriya rose his hands as if he were going to strangle Mineta.
"Ooo, I could kill you right now." Midoriya said through gritted teeth.
"Ok, whoa guys, come on." Eijiro said, stepping between them.
"Just slow your roll, alright. Fighting isn't the answer." Eijiro said. He tried to put his hand on his friends shoulders, but they both rejected his comfort.
"Oh 'fighting isn't the answer', why even try to be a hero if you're such a pacifist?" Mineta asked and Eijiro sighed,
"First of all, fighting is a defense to protect ourselves and others; not an answer." Eijiro said and Midoriya turned back towards the TV.
"Second of all, Pleasantville is pleasant by default. When there is peace, then there is no reason to fight/defend yourself." Eijiro turned slightly to look at the kitchen.
"And lastly, what good is it to fight now? All we are doing is wasting our energy and that's no good. We all have to get along and stay together while we are stuck in this reality. Who knows how long it will be before Alt comes back. He said a week or two, but what if it's months? What if it's years? We have to stick together- we just have to, alright." Eijiro said. For a brief moment, Mineta and Midoriya stared at each other. The silence was awkward and filled with the aromas of Midnight's breakfast.
"Yeah, ok." Mineta said softly.
"You have a point." Midoriya agreed and Eijiro smiled.
"Alright. In that case, why don't we all take a breather and eat some breakfast. Unless, of course you want to wait until Midnight makes your plate for you." Eijiro said. Images of yesterday's breakfast flashed across Mineta's mind. For a moment she got nauseous and put a hand on her stomach.
"No, no, I'll make my own plate today." Mineta said sounding like she was close to vomiting. They went into the kitchen and sat down as Midnight was flipping pancakes.
"Kids, you're early. How exciting." Midnight said with a smile.
"Hi, uh... mom." Mineta said awkwardly.
"Morning mom." Midoriya said.
"How are you Ms. Midnight?" Eijiro said.
"I'm fine Kirishima, thanks for asking." Midnight said. She set a stack of pancakes on the table and straightened her dress.
"What about you kids. Mary sue, you haven't told me anything about your big date last night." Midnight said with a big smile on her lips. Mineta stared at her for a moment. Not because she was curious about her date, but because Midnight was standing, almost at attention, waiting for something to happen.
"Would... you like to sit down first?" Mineta asked and Midnight shook her head.
"No, no, dear. I'm waiting for your father to come down so that I can pour him a nice cup of coffee to go with his breakfast. I can't very well sit down until that happens, now can I." Midnight said with a giggle. Mineta turned to look at Eijiro and Midoriya who simply shrugged at this behavior.
"Well, then, um, Skip was a real gentleman. We went out for a burger, then we went up to Lover's Lane and, uh... hung out." Mineta said with a smirk. She winked at Midoriya who rolled his eyes.
"Sounds like you've had a lot of fun." Midnight said and then she looked at the boys.
"How about you two?" Midnight asked.
"Not much to say for me." Midoriya started.
"I was at work and came home." He said and Midnight nodded.
"Oh yes, that's right. How about you Kirishima?" Midnight asked.
"I had a burger with Bakugou and then we hung out at his place for a while." Eijiro said nonchalantly.
"Oh that's nice, I hope the two of you had a good-" Midnight stopped suddenly, nearly frozen in place as she replayed Eijiro's words in her head.
"You can't hang out with Bakugou." Midnight said. The odd thing was that she didn't say this like an order. If anything she was confused, as if it should have been impossible.
"Why not?" Eijiro asked.
"Because... because, um." Midnight looked up as she tried to remember why no one was suppose to spend time with Bakugou.
"Because he's Bakugou." Midnight said simply and Eijiro furrowed his brow.
"I don't think that's a real reason." Eijiro said, trying to sound understanding. Midnight looked down the hall and went over to Eijiro.
"But Bakugou is not a pleasant person." Midnight whispered.
"He is often rude, and uses unpleasant language, and almost never smiled." Midnight said and she pulled back to look at Eijiro's face.
"So now you understand, don't you? You understand why no one hangs out with Bakugou." Midnight asked, almost like she was telling a five-year-old to stay away from Tums because it's medicine and not candy. Eijiro simply stared at Midnight. Did everyone treat Bakugou like some parasite? Not only does Bakugou disappear fromthe show, but people go out of their way avoid him while he works two jobs... just because he's the only 'unpleasant' person in Pleasantville?
"I understand." Eijiro said stiffly. He may find it disgusting and wrong, but he did understand.
"Oh good." Midnight said, putting her hand on her chest in relief.
"I'm so glad we had this chance to talk before Jeanist came down. I wouldn't want him to have a bad day at work." Midnight said and Eijiro shook his head in disapproval.
Eijiro didn't care if Bakugou wasn't considered pleasant. He was the only friend the blond has, and Eijiro had no intention of abandoning him now.
