Yuto made an annoyed grimace as he felt the sunlight that filtered from the only window in that room hit it directly on his face. Whoever dragged him there could also make sure to close the curtain while they were there.

Sighing wearily, Yuto dragged himself up, sitting on the bed with his legs crossed. Scratching the back of his head, Yuto grimaced, realising that it was not a dream as he had originally thought. He did not know what had happened, but surely it had to do with the Holy Grail and its destruction.

He took a deep breath and tried to understand what was happening. To do so, he read the letter again. Now that his head had stopped hurting, he could read things he couldn't before and pick up details he had previously ignored.

The first thing he noticed was the tone of the letter. Although the writer had tried to maintain a certain detachment, there were points in which the tone with which they addressed him was familiar and this led him to think that perhaps they knew each other.

"Rin!"

He received no answer.

"Merlin!"

Once again, Yuto received only silence.

It probably wasn't them. But if it wasn't them, who else it could be? Yuto increasingly suspected that someone was trying to manipulate him.

However, he could not ignore that the mysterious sender had told him how to start.

Fairy Tail.

It was a mage association just like the Clock Tower in London. And that didn't make Yuto feel comfortable. He had a pretty rough background with them.

He got up and went to the bathroom to take a relaxing shower that removed the last traces of fatigue. Avalon was truly phenomenal when it came to healing wounds, but it could do nothing against mental fatigue.

Yuto stared at his reflection in the water. The wounds were completely healed and there was not even a scar left of them. The sheath had completely healed him.

Avalon had recognized him as king. He wondered when this had happened and the suspicion fell back to when he was seven years old and had foolishly forged Caliburn again. According to Rin, Yuto had been able to grow over the next ten years because his father had used Rule Breaker on Caliburn to break the link between him and the sword, however, the "King" trait remained.

It was comical. Yuto had no wish to become a king. He was too selfish to think about the welfare of people he didn't even know.

Taking Avalon and Excalibur out of his mind for the moment, Yuto focused on another matter. Although he had no friends in his previous world, his foster mother was still alive. He wondered if she was fine.

He owed her a lot. In addition to taking care of him for ten years, everything he knew about magecraft was because of her. He owed her a lot and wanted to thank her by completing the long-term homework of the Tohsaka family: creating a second jewelled sword.

This was the reason why he had accepted the advice of the stranger and immediately went to the guild.

Yuto came out of the bathroom and got dressed. If nothing else, he was also provided with decent clothes. The ones he had when he woke up were a waste.

"Okay. Now let's see how to find it," he murmured to himself.

Magnolia, the town in which he was now, resembled cities like Florence during the Renaissance. The houses were built on one or two floors and were built in a Western-style, with many mediaeval elements. Many buildings had a commercial activity that could be a bar, a restaurant or even a simple shop on the first floor. The main feature was that the town developed around the cathedral. Taking it as a reference point, a person could move around quite easily.

However, he was not a tourist, although familiarising was necessary for the near future.

Walking towards a board showing the map of the entire town, Yuto observed that his destination was in the northern part of Magnolia near the shore of the lake. However, Yuto saw that next to the Guild's name there was a warning note written next to the name.

"At your own risk..." Yuto muttered. "What does that mean?"

Come to think of it, the people he asked about advised against going. Someone even told him that Fairy Tail was a Dark Guild.

Yuto shook his head. Whatever the board and the people said, he would go on anyway. On the other hand, he had never been the type of person who gave importance to what others told him or else he would not be in a situation like this.

It took him 15 minutes but he made it in the end.

It was the second most impressive building after Kardia Cathedral. The guild resembled a pagoda built on three floors, each of which was smaller than the previous one. It had thick white walls and two rhombus-shaped windows. There was a wooden sign with the inscription "Fairy Tail" and two fairy figures with a dancing tail above the door. At the highest level of the pagoda, there were three banners with three different symbols. The central one was a little bigger than the others and had a white figure printed on it, similar to the dancing fairies on the sign.

Yuto took a few minutes to observe the guild with an analytical eye. It didn't seem to have anything strange to suggest staying away. He decided to enter, and he was almost immediately deafened by the noise inside. In Yuto's eyes, it was more a pub than a guild with many people screaming, drinking and, for reasons unknown to Yuto, arguing and beating each other. In particular, Yuto's focus was on two people.

The first was a guy with pink hair and hazel eyes. He wore an open black vest, a black and gold skirt around the waist that reached the knee, supported by a brown leather belt, white trousers tight to the shins by black laces, sandals and a white scarf.

Yuto was fascinated by the fire enveloping his body. It did not harm him in any way.

The other boy had dark black hair and dark blue eyes. For some reason that Yuto preferred not to know, he was almost completely naked, wearing only a pair of black and grey boxer shorts. Unlike the first, his body was covered with a cold aura.

The two mages, who were clearly two experts in the use of fire and ice, insulted each other vehemently and beat each other with such fury that they looked like two Berserkers in the throes of mad enchantment.

Chaos reigned in the guild. Tables and benches were torn apart by the impetuosity of the members and did not seem to matter to any of the damage. They just kept going.

Yuto understood now why his mysterious saviour had written to him that it would not be difficult to find the guild and the meaning of the warning written next to the guild name on the board. Just follow the trail of destruction.

Suddenly, the magus heard a female voice calling him.

"Hey, great show, isn't it?"

Yuto turned and saw that she was a girl with long white hair and big blue eyes. She was overall very beautiful. She wore a reddish sleeveless dress down to her ankles, all draped in a pink trim and a large ribbon of the same colour as the drapery sewn on her chest. She also wore a small pendant with an oval blue gem and a bracelet made of white flowers on her right wrist.

"I've never seen you around here before. I am Mirajane," she said, addressing Yuto with a warm smile. "Can I help you?"

Yuto had to admit that the first impact was rather strange.

Yuto was not a fan of the mage associations. In his world, the Clock Tower was composed primarily of people who descended from a long line of magi and, because of their status, they were arrogant people who despised anyone who practised magical arts they considered inferior such as rune magecraft, witchcraft and projection.

Yuto nodded. "I was looking for work and they suggested this place."

"Are you a mage?" the girl asked.

"Yes, I am," Yuto replied directly. It wasn't exactly true, however, he didn't want to attract too much-unwanted attention just like the old man who overheard the conversations between him and the girl.

"You heard right, young man," the old man said as he approached Yuto.

The old man was rather short, with dishevelled white hair and a thick white moustache. He wore a white t-shirt with the guild's mark printed in the middle and an orange and blue jacket over the t-shirt, a pair of orange trousers and an orange and blue jester's hat.

"Who are you?" Yuto asked.

The old man was the exact representation of the saying 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Despite his frail old look, Yuto immediately noticed the immense strength that man emanated.

"Forgive me but I casually listened to your speeches," the man sincerely apologised for his rudeness, "I am Makarov, the master of Fairy Tail."

"I am Yuto," the magus replied. "I arrived in town yesterday looking for a job. For some reason, people advised me not to join."

How could he blame them?

"Ahahah, pay no attention to what people say," Makarov said, laughing cheerfully. "Even if we're a little impetuous and everything, it doesn't mean we're bad people."

"Yeah. Right." Yuto simply nodded.

Even the Magi of the Clock Tower were like that. Behind their aristocratic facade, most were racist and ignorant bastards that Yuto despised.

"I would like to join the guild. Can I?" Yuto went straight to the point.

"You're welcome!" Makarov replied immediately.

Yuto blinked a couple of times, stunned by the simplicity with which the master had accepted him into his guild. Yuto thought he had to pass some sort of test and yet Makarov welcomed him without even asking about his abilities or his past.

"Is something wrong?" Makarov asked, concerned.

"N-no, it isn't. I was a bit surprised" Yuto replied with a stutter. "I admit I didn't expect it to be that simple."

"What did you expect then?" Makarov asked, chuckling.

"Um, well, I expected something like a test to see my magical aptitude," Yuto replied, rubbing embarrassed the back of his head.

Makarov began to laugh loudly. Tears ran uncontrollably from his eyes. This only made Yuto more confused.

Makarov made a long sigh before staring firmly at Yuto. "A mage is much more than the one who uses magic and Fairy Tail is not simply a place where you come to get a job," Makarov said, shifting his focus to the rest of the other members. "Fairy Tail is a place where people can meet to socialise and a home and a family for those who don't have one." He turned to Yuto again. "That's why you don't have to worry about who you are or what kind of magic you can use."

Yuto wrinkled his lips as the words of the master struck him deeply. He was able to understand when someone was lying to him and Makarov was not. Moreover, he could hear the conviction in the old man's words.

"The people of this guild have fun together, living every day to the fullest. This is what it means to be a mage for us," Makarov continued, then asking a particular question: "Do you have a dream?"

Yuto observed in silence with his mouth slightly open. He had no answer to give because he had given up revenge when he realised that no one would return his parents, other than the fact that they would never be happy about it.

"Don't you think you're asking too much?" Yuto replied sarcastically. "Of course, I have something to accomplish or I wouldn't have come here.

"Hmm..." Makarov muttered before smiling again. "Can you get the stamp, Mirajane?"

A few minutes later, Mirajane had taken a stamp to identify a person as belonging to a guild. Yuto saw that they were all tattooed with the same symbol. The only differences were the colour and position of the mark. In Yuto's case, he had it on his right shoulder and it was blue.

"Welcome to Fairy Tail, Yuto!" Makarov exclaimed smiling.

Mirajane had explained the rules of the Guild. Each member can take quests that vary in difficulty and are divided into different ranks. Ranks were normal (From D-Rank to A-Rank), S- Class, SS-Class, 10 years and 100 years, however, only mages with certain qualifications can take Class jobs from Class S onwards.

Each job is paid for with money or magic items and the reward also varies depending on the degree of work.

As for the structure of the building, Yuto could move freely throughout the first floor while the second was for the exclusive use of the S-class mages.

Looking up at the second floor, Yuto could only see one person. He was a blond guy, with a lightning-shaped scar on the right side of his face. He was wearing a green leopard shirt, burgundy pants and grey shoes. He also wore a black coat with white fur on his shoulders and a pair of headphones.

Looking away from him, Yuto went to the request board. He had to admit that there were many different works. From treasure hunting to monster hunting. There were even quests to defeat groups of bandits and Dark Guilds.

For the moment he would have taken a simple job, which would have taken little time and allowed him to become familiar with that world.

Looking at the board, the choice falls with the defeat of a group of bandits who tormented Chrysantha. It didn't seem very complicated. Since he had defeated the King of Heroes, a group of bandits wouldn't have been very difficult.

Meanwhile, the pink-haired wizard continues to stare at Yuto with thoughtful eyes.

"Is something wrong, Natsu?" a girl asked.

The girl had long blond hair that reached halfway up her back, with a lock tied in a small lateral ponytail, and brown eyes. She wore a white sleeveless t-shirt with blue trim, a blue skirt, a brown leather belt attached to which is a pouch containing some keys and a whip ending with a heart, and black boots. The guild mark has been printed on the back of the right hand and is pink.

"I feel like I've already met that guy somewhere," Natsu replied as he crossed his arms to his chest, trying to remember where.

Two other people approached Natsu. The first was the mage with raven hair. His name was Gray Fullbuster. He was a powerful magician, but he had a big problem. He tends to stay in his underwear... literally.

The other person was a scarlet-haired girl with brown eyes. Her choice of wardrobe was very unusual. The upper part of his body was covered by silver armour with the symbol of the mark printed on the left side of it, under a gold cross that overlapped it. She also wears a blue skirt and black boots.

She was the terror of the guild. Her name was Erza Scarlett, also known as Titania, the Fairy Queen, and one of Fairy Tail's S-class mages, as well as the most powerful woman within the guild.

"Where did you meet him?" Gray asked.

"I'm trying to remember..." Natsu turned to Gray. "Do you remember where?"

"How should I know, you stupid charcoal?!" Gray growled, annoyed.

"What did you say, you stupid frozen stripper?!" Natsu growled, slamming his head against Gray's.

The two started fighting again, soon involving the entire guild.

Meanwhile, Erza turned to the Master who was currently sitting cross-legged on the bar counter.

"Who is he?" She asked as she approached Makarov.

"Oh, his name is Yuto and he just joined the guild," Makarov answered before taking a sip of his drink. " You noticed that, didn't you?" Makarov asked as his features hardened considerably.

Erza nodded. "He is powerful... really powerful," she said quietly. "I believe he is on the same level as Gildarts in terms of magical energy."

Makarov nodded because he also had the same feeling. But Makarov noticed something else which he preferred not to say.

Yuto was not human.

Not far from Magnolia, the town of Chrysantha was in the middle of a forest and could only be reached by following a dirt path. The client was a middle-aged man who complained that a group of bandits had begun to assault the convoys that carried the goods into the village and rob the people who passed along the road.

Taking this information, Yuto arrived at the place described by the client. What was in front of him was an old stone building that didn't seem to be guarded but could feel a large group of people inside.

"Nobody seems to be very strong, but it's better to be careful." Yuto stripped the clothes of a thug he had knocked out and put them on to disguise himself and enter undisturbed.

They were just thugs. Nothing he'd never met before and nothing he couldn't handle. However, what he found inside left him with a strange sense of disgust. Arriving in a rather big hall, built in the basement, he noticed the presence of steel cages in which people were imprisoned.

Yuto didn't count them, but they were in bad condition. Their clothes were rags from the trash. They had chains that bound their hands and feet. Some were dead and their bodies were left to rot inside. For those who still had a breath of life, they would have died in a short time.

There were blood trails as if something had dragged someone away.

Yuto turned to the bandits who came behind them. He glanced angrily at them. The pressure emanated by his magical energy increased every second that passed, making the ground ripple under his feet.

Protect the good and punish the evil. For some reason, these words came to his mind. He did not know the reason but it was like an impulse or a concept written by someone else in Yuto that pushed him to act almost against his will.

By the time Yuto got into action, the fight was over.

In less than five minutes all the bandits were defeated.

"I guess they were just small fish." He turned to the entrance. "You are their boss, aren't you?"

The figure was that of a man dressed as a scientist. He wore a white sweaty coat and a pair of glasses with thick lenses. His posture was rather lumpy.

"There was no need for an intrusion. My experiment will be delayed now," the mad scientist said frustrated. "I knew I had to rely on experts."

A bluish magic circle widened, pushing Yuto back. A monstrous creature appeared inside.

Yuto whistled sarcastically. "Wow. A chimaera. I'm shaking like a leaf."

Chimaeras were monsters that Yuto had seen before. They were beings created artificially by magi who specialised in this type of thaumaturgy. They were created through the fusion of different parts of animals. In this case, the main body was that of a lion modified to be able to stand on two legs and two pairs of strong gorilla legs. A pair of wings and the head of a goat were surgically attached behind his back.

The goat's head spat, grazing Yuto. A dull lament slipped from Yuto's lips as he realised that the saliva was sour. On the other hand, the lion's head could spit fireballs.

"If you surrender without a fight, I will allow you to become a valuable tool of my research of eternal life," the mad scientist said, mistakenly anticipating his victory.

"So, that's what it is." Yuto's voice was cold in response to what he had heard.

The chimaera cried and suddenly fell backwards. The swords were stabbed in its body, destroying the core that moved it.

"I've already wasted too much time." Yuto vanished from view and reappeared in front of the scientist, his fist plunging into the man's face and a force behind it was enough to push him away.

Yuto turned towards the chimaera and grabbed one sword.

"And now let's think about you," Yuto said, approaching the cage.

He swung his sword with a quick and precise movement that cut the chains that kept the door closed.

"I must ask you to endure a little more," Yuto said, turning away. "Don't hide. I know you are there."

A woman appeared from the shadows. She was a young woman who may not have been more than twenty-five years old, with long light brown hair and violet eyes. She was wearing a simple white shirt, a pair of skinny jeans and ankle boots.

"I thought I was hiding well, but I guess winning hide-and-seek with a Dragon Slayer is impossible," the woman said, raising her hands above her head. "I'm not here to hurt you. I can't do it at all."

"Do we know each other?" Yuto suspiciously narrowed his eyes to the woman.

"Well, I know who you are in a way," the woman answered cryptically. "I repeat. I am not your enemy. And I can prove it to you."

"How?" Yuto asked.

The answer came immediately when a group of soldiers entered, captured the bandits and took care of the wounded. They also asked Yuto a few questions, explaining how the events had gone.

"Do you trust me now?" the woman smiled.

"No."

The smile from the woman's face faded at Yuto's quick answer and became expressionless.

"It doesn't matter." The woman sighed disconsolately. "I'm sure we'll meet again very soon."

Before Yuto could ask her anything, a magic teleport circle opened under the woman's feet and then she was gone, leaving Yuto with many questions pending.

"I could have asked her name at least," Yuto muttered.

Sighing wearily, Yuto shook his head.

What the hell was going on?
