Shinta Uzumaki vs Chika Aburame.
The two genins stood against each other. First thing Shinta did was open a scroll, the papier spinning around him forming a circle on the ground. Chika launched her bugs at him only for those bugs to die on the scroll, so the bugs flew back to her.
Kakashi looked at the seal, not recognizing them at all. "The chakra eating seal." He turned to Kushina. "It's a seal designed to take a small amount of chakra from anyone who enters a doorway with the seal on it, for humans it's barely noticed but insects it kills them in an instant." Kakashi nodded and watched Shinta releasing a lot of steam from his gas mask.
"Why don't you just sell it, if it's a great insect killer?" She turned toward him.
"Well Obito if someone modified the seal it could end up sucking someone's entire chakra so it's better to keep it in the clan." She explained scratching the back of her head.
Obito looked at the fight. "If he leaves the circle he will beat in an instant won't he?" Kakashi nodded.
Guy joined in the conversation. "Yes but what if he uses clones to attack her?"
Obito's eyes widened at the idea. "You're right, he could keep himself safe and not lose chakra if the bugs attack." Kakashi looked around the arena. "What are you looking at?"
"Can you check with your sharingan how many bugs are around here?" Obito did as asked and was shocked. "What is it?" Obito gulped.
He looked at Kakashi. "The entire stadium is covered in bugs." Kushina looked shocked. "Shinta better have Plan on his side." Kushina looked worried while the rest of the clan was looking at their bet slips.
Shinta was staring at Chika and started performing hand seals and water poured out of him flooding the entire stood on the now artificial lake as the proctor looked trying to find Shinta. "That had to use a lot of chakra." Obito said impressed by the feat.
Chika just walked around, annoyed before a hand appeared out of the water and pulled under and then the lake turned into a whirlpool spinning in rapid motion.
Once the whirlpool disappeared chika was in a water prison and shinta was panting. The proctor walked to the Aburame and after seeing that she couldn't escape. "Winner Shinta Uzumaki." The audience clapped while some cursed losing their bet.
Kakashi still analyzed the fight. "The power of youth at its fullest!" Guy yelled Chitose looked rather miffed.
He then decided to ask. "Are you alright Chitose sensei?" The elder Uzumaki answered not turning to Kakashi. "He pulled his trump card too early." Kakashi nodded in agreement. "It's an old trick in our clan, to flood an entire battlefield and wash away the—" Kushina cleared her throat and he saw Naruto listening to him. "The traps That Your enemies placed." He gave him a fake smile at the kid.
Obito turned to Kakashi and Guy. "Who do you think will win between Shinta and Itachi?" Before the two could answer Chitose interrupted. "Neither."
Obito with some clan pride decided to continue. "Really? I mean Itachi is a Genius so I think it's close."
Chitose Smirked. "There are two types of geniuses in this world: those who understand the moment they see something and those who understand nothing but but create something. Itachi is the perfect vision of an Uchiha prodigy, efficient, practical and intelligent, a cliff side against crushing waves. Shinta is the opposite, he creates and does what he can to win, his chakra control is like a Volcano at the bottom of the ocean. Now we will see a natural wall fighting against a natural disaster and I will swim in Ryō after it's done! Hahahaha!" Everyone looked at him annoyed as he smugly laughed.
Itachi looked over the battle again in his head, for the first time since his graduation there was a challenge. Still he believed he would win with skill yet, he would face raw power. "Father?" He was surprised to see his father enter the room.
"How are you doing son?" He spoke stiffly.
"I'm fine, just preparing for my opponent." He spoke with the natural stoic voice that made most girls fawn over him.
"Listen, this is your first chunin exam and it's your duty as an uzhiha to but, what only matters is that you become chunin understood?" He spoke firm yet reassuringly.
Itachi smiled and nodded.
Haruna came to Shinta's resting room. "Is the rest of the cl—" Haruna punched shinta to the ground and removed a scroll from a seal written on the inside of his jacket.
He looked at the scroll written on it, and it said 'the flesh eater'. "Did the elder give this to you?" He asked, putting the scroll into his flat jacket.
Shinta rubbed his face, spitting out his last baby tooth. "Yea, something about a test for two." He sat up and punched Haruna back, yet the older shinobi didn't flinch. "You could have asked." Haruna sighed.
"It's better to strike first before you bleed." Haruna looked at Shinta and saw the distrust he had in his eyes. "Do you know what this scroll is?" Shinta shook his head. "It's one of the Shinigami masks. If you used it, then you would have to give your flesh after it gave you the power you ask." The young uzumaki's eyes widened. "Remember any power has its costs, like taxes you can't escape it." Shinta nodded and Haruna walked to the door. He stopped and turned slightly to Shinta. "Make the crowd aww with the display of power." Shinta nodded and Haruna gave a thumbs up before leaving the room.
Itachi and Shinta stared at each other the moment the match was declared and both jumped back, with Itachi using a great fireball while Shinta countered with a great waterfall. The entire arena was cowered in a thick steam and then Shinta threw multiple tagged Kunai at the walls.
Itachi used his sharingan and there he saw shinta had covered his eyes with his forehead guard, at the opening he threw multiple Kunai then used shadow Kunai to add to the number only for Shinta to turn toward the Kunai breath a cloud of steam at the Kunai causing them to rust and break apart on impact. Shinta stayed standing as if waiting for an attack and from the cloud Itachi attempted to kick only for the Uzumaki to dodge and use the opening only to realize it was an exploding clone.
"What's happening?!" Guy asked the steam cloud blocking the audience's view. "It sounds like Great show of the power of youth! Yet we can't see their strengths." Guy turned to Obito who had already activated his sharingan and the Hyuga were all watching with their byakugan active. "Itachi used an exploding clone, it's kinda hard to see, it's like they're surrounded in chakra." They listened to every word Obito said, waiting to hear which one of the boys would win.
Shinta got launched toward a wall but was able to land on his feet and turned toward Itachi, the real Itachi and used the dragon fire technique and there Itachi answered with a water Dragon bullet causing both to clash and cause a massive explosion pushing the steam away. Once the steam cleared Itachi and Shinta jumped at each other with kunai in hand, both combining Taijutsu and Kinjutsu attempting to get a hit.
Naruto looked confused "Why are they using the kunai now?" He asked his mother but Obito looked at him.
"Because they keep countering their long ranged ninjutsu and Itachi can't use his genjutsu when Shinta's eyes are covered." He turned and watched as both attempted to get a hit on the other, Itachi's goal being to cut the hitai off while Shinta was trying to wound him.
Both jumped away, Itachi analyzing while Shinta got out two kunai with seals tied to them. Both stayed on the opposite sides while the audience held their breaths.
Shinta threw both kunai and yet not at Itachi but the walls then they swerved and flew at Itachi which he blocked. Then realized the rest of the kunai were stuck to the wall, and they all pulled themselves out of the wall and flew at him. In an instance he understood the technique and used a great flame release spinning around creating a circle of fire burning the tags on the kunai causing them all to lose momentum.
"Earth release:Antlion technique" The earth under the Uchiha collapsed turning into quicksand, Itachi jumped and stood on the wall as the entire Arena ground had turned to sand devouring the trees and rocks that were in the arena, the only one not affected by this being shinta who sat on a pillar as the sand swirled toward him. Again he released a massive amount of Water flooding the arena. Cyclones of water flew at him attempting to hit Itachi as he ran across walls. He threw a shuriken into the water and he hit Shinta in the shoulder. The evaporated water created another cover and a massive ball made up of adamantine chains rushed toward Itachi hitting his left arm and the ball created a crater in the wall.
Itachi landed on the ground and in an instance breathed great fireball technique and once it made contact. Itachi looked as the steam cleared a burned Shinta still standing "boil release: aroma healing steam" He breathed out a pink mist around himself and Itachi watched the burned skin healing yet Shinta had no more hair.
Both combatants panted heavily as they were pushing at their limits. Shinta took his hitai off looking at Itachi who had stopped using his sharingan and shinta fell to his back, before a winner could be announced Itachi fell sideways both exhausted from constant sharingan use or using techniques with massive chakra need. The proctor yelled out, surprised. "I-It's a-a draw!" The entire stadium fell silent as they looked at the two genin on the ground, then clapped at the display of ability and power.
Chitose laughed madly. "Ramen is on me!" The rest of the clan cheered even if they all lost money. Kakashi still questioned something about the match. "How did he know where Itachi was?" Chitose turned to him.
He shrugged. "Let's go, I want to drown myself in sake."
Obito facepalmed now realizing something. "It was the water!" Kakashi made a sound of confirmation.
Might Guy looked a bit perplexed "What?" They stood up to let Might Guy figure it out himself.
