Froth
One day later, April comes hurrying through the door with a gleeful smile. "I got my job back!"
"That's great!" Taylor gets up, wincing slightly. "Did she take a lot of convincing?"
"No - but someone else has quit, someone who was reporting the more serious stories and she says she doesn't want any more crazy theories from me."
It's not like anyone would believe April about the turtles anyway. "So no more froth and foam for you?"
April nods with a satisfied smile. "No more froth and foam for me."
Taylor's happy for her, really. She's got what she wanted: a chance to improve her career. The only problem is she's going to be around Vern again. Taylor's only met Vern once and she doesn't like him at all. The way he kept hitting on April made her skin crawl; April either genuinely didn't notice or she just wasn't letting it bother her.
Perhaps she should tell the turtles about...Wait, no!
"How are the ribs doing?" April asks.
"Oh. They're...not so bad now." It's been a good few days, and Taylor's been taking it easy. And to be honest, there's only so much daytime TV she can watch before her brain starts rotting.
"Do you want Donnie to come and have a look at them?"
Taylor hesitates.
