A couple of days after they left Jublife City, Cynthia and Dahlia were still on their way to Orebaugh City.

But currently, they were stopping near a lake so that their Pokemon could rest up.

Gible was eating by herself, as was Meditite as meditating on his own and Budew and Lotad were engaging in a thrilling conversation as Grass-types only can.

Cynthia and Dahlia were eating the stew that they made as Cynthia looked impressed by Dahlia's cooking abilities.

"Wow! This is really good!" Cynthia said to her traveling companion.

Dahlia blushed as she spooned the last of the stew.

"Oh please, it is nothing special. I only followed the super basic recipe my dad gave me." Dahlia said as she ate.

But while those two were eating their food, unknown to them certain bubbles began rising from the nearby lake. Soon however, the bubble soon gave away as a West Sea Shellos soon appeared in the lake and looked at Cynthia and Dahlia curiously.

Soon said Shellos went over to them and she soon saw Cynthia and tilted her head at her.

"Hey Cynthia look at that!" Dahlia said as she saw the Shellos.

Cynthia soon turned her head at her friend's insistence and soon saw Shellos and was immediately awed by it's cuteness.

"Oh wow, I wonder what that Pokemon is…" Cynthia said as she took out her Pokedex and scanned Shellos with it.

"Shellos, the Sea Slug Pokemon. A Water type, It oozes a purple fluid to deter enemies. Apparently, there are more West Sea Shellos now than there were in the past."

Shellos soon looked confused as Dahlia recognized what kind of Shellos it was.

"I have heard that there are two kinds of Shellos in the wild, and seeing this one here that is probably the West Sea one." Dahlia said to her companions.

Cynthia soon stared at it and looked at her current Pokemon, that being Gible and Budew.

Both of them soon saw Shellos and waved to her, making the Water-type feel a lot more comfortable as she went up to the two Pokemon and smiled at her.

"You know, I am sure that Shellos would come in great at the Orebaugh Gym." Dahlia told Cynthia.

Cynthia would have to agree and soon grabbed a Pokeball hoping to ask Shellos to join her team… when suddenly their was a rustling noise from the bushes near them.

Shellos, being a rather timid Pokemon soon got scared and hid beneath the water and swam away.

Cynthia soon turned around and looked rather pissed. Whoever was in that tree, Pokemon or human. They had just ruined her chances at catching Shellos and she wanted to exact her revenge on them.

"Hey, whoever is there come on out! I want to give you the beating of your life right now!" Cynthia yelled at them so loud that Dahila and their Pokemon had to cover their ears slightly.

Soon the Pokemon that were in the bush came out were a Skorupi and Combee making both Cynthia and Dahlia extremely confused as they weren't Pokemon you use usually see around the area they were in.

Then suddenly, a green-haired boy where a black vest with orange stitching on it and a lanky figure soon tumbled out with Cynthia and Dahlia figured that he was their trainer.

"Hey! You two don't go running off like that again!" The boy said to his Pokemon as his Skorupi and Combee nodded.

"Hey, mind telling us who you are and what you were doing in that bush?" Cynthia asked as she was equal parts pissed and confused at this boy.

"Oh? Sorry about that. You see there was a Pokemon I am trying to catch but it keeps on getting away from me at the moment. My name is Aaron Antonelli, world's greatest Bug-type trainer at your service." The trainer known as Aaron said to them.

Cynthia wanted to be pissed at Aaron, but seeing how ernest he was being, she couldn't stay angry for long and soon relented.

"Well hello, my name is Cynthia Shirona and this is my traveling partner Dahlia. We are currently on our way to Orebaugh City to challenge the gym there." Cynthia said to him as Dahlia took out her Pokedex and scanned Aaron's Pokemon.

"Skroupi, the Scorpion Pokemon. A Poison and Bug type, it grips prey with its tail claws and injects poison. It tenaciously hangs on until the poison takes."

"Combee, the Tiny Bee Pokemon. A Bug and Flying type, the trio is together from birth. It constantly gathers nectar from flowers to please Vespiquen."

Dahlia noted the interesting Pokemon that Aaron had as he suddenly looked at Cynthia and looked her over.

"Um… can I help you?" Cynthia asked him in confusion.

"Alright I challenge you to a battle!" Aaron said suddenly and out of the blue.

The challenge took Cynthia by surprise, but she wasn't one to back down from a challenge and accepted it.

Soon the two of them stood at the opposite side of each other with Cynthia use her Gible and Aaron using her Skorupi. Despite them both having two Pokemon, they decided to make this a one-on-one battle with Dahlia serving as the referee.

Budew and Combee cheered on their respective trainers and teammates as the Dahlia began the battle.

"Alright Skorupi use Poison Sting!" Aaron said.

Skorupi soon let out several purple projectiles that hurdled towards Gible. Cynthia soon commanded her to dodge as Gible did just that.

"Now Gible use Sand Attack and follow up with Tackle!" Cynthia said.

Gible soon whipped up some sand and threw it at Skorupi which lowered his vision before slamming into him with a powerful tackle and sent him tumbling.

Aaron encouraged Skorupi to continue as he did just that.

"Great now use Leer!" Aaron said.

Skorupi soon glared at Gible which managed to unnerve her a bit as her defense went down a bit.

"Now follow up with Fell Stinger!" Aaron said to his Pokemon.

Soon Skorupi sent out several blue thin projectiles that hit Gible dead on and soon felled her.

"Oh no! Please Gible get up!" Cynthia pleaded with her starter.

Soon Gible got up and looked extremely determined. So determined in fact that she began building up energy. Soon she unleashed that dragon energy into a blazing attack that struck Skorupi head on for massive damage.

Cynthia was amazed as was Aaron.

"No way… Cynthia your Gible just learned Dragon Breath!" Dahlia said to her friend excitedly.

"Wow you learned a new move Gible!" Cynthia said to her starter with a smile.

Gible smiled back as she was also extremely happy.

"I am happy for you and your Pokemon but we are in the middle of a battle right now! So Skorupi use Fell Stinger!" Aaron said.

"Alright Gible, use Dragon Breath!" Cynthia said in retaliation.

Soon the two attacks met with Gible's easily overcoming Skorupi's and landing a devastating attack. Soon Skorupi fell back and was knocked out.

"Skorupi is unable to battle, which means the winner is Cynthia and her Gible."

Cynthia celebrated having won as Gible soon ran into her arms. Aaron went over to his Skorupi and complimented it on a well fought battle.

"Well you and that Gible of yours are pretty strong, I say the Sinnoh League should watch out." Aaron said coming over to Cynthia.

Cynthia thanked him and Aaron said that they could help him now that Cynthia had proven her strength.

"Help you with what?" Dahlia said.

Aaron soon smirked.

"With the Pokemon I am trying to catch of course." Aaron said to them.

Soon both of them were in the forest near their campsite. Gible was out as Dahlia soon looked at Aaron.

"So what Pokemon were you looking for?" Dahlia asked him.

"It is a Pokemon called a Trapinch." Aaron said to them.

Cynthia soon looked up Trapinch on her Pokedex, as she wasn't familiar with it at all.

"Trapinch, the Ant Pit Pokemon. A Ground type, its nest is a sloped, bowl-like pit in the desert. Once something has fallen in, there is no escape."

"But Trapinch isn't a Bug-type so why do you want to catch it?" Cynthia asked him.

Aaron soon stepped over a tree root before answering Cynthia's question.

"True, it isn't a Bug-type but I believe that going outside of your comfort zone is ideal to being a great trainer." Aaron said to her.

Soon Gible sensed Trapinch nearby and soon waved to everyone else as they followed her to where she was going. Soon she was at a clearing where Trapinch was simply walking along.

"Finally! Alright Combee come on out!" Aaron said sending out his Combee.

Combee came on out as she looked ready to battle.

"Alright Combee use Gust let's go!" Aaron commanded.

Combee nodded as she soon flapped her wings into a powerful stream that soon sent Trapinch into a nearby rock, weakening it slightly.

Trapinch realizing that a battle was taking place soon use Mud Shot to attack but the attack was useless as it didn't even reach Combee.

"Nice, since Combee is a Flying-type none of Trapinch's attacks will hit her!" Dahlia said.

Aaron said to wrap this up with Bug Bite as Combee soon flew done and landed a Bug Bite on Trapinch that severely weakened it.

Aaron seeing his chance threw a Pokeball at Trapinch. The ball hit Trapinch as it sucked in Trapinch.

Soon everyone waited with bated breath as the Pokeball wobbled and wobbled a bit before locking in as a capture for Aaron.

Soon Aaron picked up his new Pokemon and celebrated with Combee as Cynthia and Dahlia looked on happy for him.

Soon they all went back to the campsite, Aaron let out his new Trapinch who was resting on his shoulder having taken a liking to him.

"So Aaron you are also heading to Orebaugh City to challenge the Gym Leader there right?" Cynthia asked him.

"Yep! I am planning to take on all the gyms of the Sinnoh Region and then winning the Sinnoh League!" Aaron said with confidence.

Cynthia laughed a bit as Dahlia suggested that he come with them as so they all get their safely.

"What do you guys think?" Aaron asked his Pokemon.

Skorupi, Combee and Trapinch all quickly agreed to it having taken a liking to both Cynthia and Dahlia.

"Alright it is settled then! I am your new traveling partner!" Aaron said with a smile.

Soon everyone packed their things up as soon began walking, while the Shellos from before soon reappeared and stared at them as the new team of three trainer walked to Orebaugh City as their journey continued.
