The start to a (hopefully much longer) story about Mac and Dick coming to terms with Cassidy and exploring their connection. Takes place during college, with Veronica still at Hearst and happily with Logan (I can't bear to keep them apart). Rated M for language and possible later chapters. Summary: Logan and Veronica broke up, but Veronica has a secret. Will she become more of an outcast, or will Logan be able to save her?

AU- Season 1. Veronica Mars is working hard trying to locate who is responsible for the latest influx of a designer drug making its way into her city, even if it means she has to go undercover in close proximity to her former bestie, turned bully, Logan Echolls.

While Veronica is away for the summer, a few new people move to Neptune. Mac, Logan, Dick, Wallace and even Keith easily embrace the newcomers. When she returns, she will discover that maybe she wasn't quite ready to leave Neptune so soon as she does NOT like the new friends that have been inserted into her world. However, she isn't one to just let things happen.

First, I have been a huge Veronica Mars Fan forever, and a huge fan of LoVe. However, other than Season 1, I hated how the remaining series played out and wanted to make some big changes, starting with Season 2. I do not own Veronica Mars or any of the characters, but there will be new ones featured, and most couplings were not a part of the original series.

Dick goes along for some hilarious team detecting…until their friendly fake date leads to confessions to his girlfriend, Mac, about his steamy past with L&V. Mac wants to even the score, and a wild, one-night, "friendship with 4-way benefits" ensues. Hijinks and smut!

When tragedy strikes, Veronica finds her self leaning on the last person she expected.

This is not a LoVe story. Its a MaDi story. Its a short accompanying story cover the events on one night when Mac and Dick were both out in a bar giving Veronica and Logan some couple space and ended up having to confront their own issues. An unlikely connection resulting from Cassidy's bond with them. The larger consequences of this story are covered in She Would Return.

Mac and Dick are about to hit a new phase in their relationship, which is great, except dealing with the future also means dealing with the past, and neither one of them exactly has the simplest or nicest backstory... (Long-time-coming sequel to 'Falling in Love is Hard on the Knees', but you can probably read it just fine without reading/remembering that one)
