While on a flight, Astrid is killed. A year goes by and Hiccup doesn't seem to have gotten over her untimely death. A mysterious woman arrives, a dear old friend of Gothi's, with an equally strange proposition for Hiccup, one that suggests the dead might be able to return. But, what results from breaking the unspoken laws of nature?

Hiccup and Toothless get caught in a storm and are forced to spend a night in a cave. They end up meeting a person Hiccup never thought he would meet.

Spoilers* Hica's mother was taken from Berk many years ago in a raid but life continued on for Berk. The dragons still came and took our food for gods know why. I grew up doing what I thought I needed to do for my village. but that all changed when I came face to face with what was my most fortunate encounter ever. I found a defenceless Night Fury but... He was there too.

It really shouldn't have surprised Toothless how well his hatchling got along with the others. Birds of a feather flock together, right? (Though in this case, would it be dragons of a scale?)

Between Hiccup's curiosity and Toothless's intelligence, it was bound to happen sometime. They exchange languages. Somehow, this surprises people.
