Ch 1 A Blast from the Past

Japan, Fuyuki City, 2018

A blonde-haired man of twenty-one walked out of the University. He was wearing a red shirt over his white shirt, long khaki pants, and brown shoes. He sighs, yet another interaction between two of his friends, women named Momiji and Ikuyo.

They were asking once again whom he should date. Like many times when they first confessed their feeling toward him, he avoid the topic. Mainly about their assignments in classes and other things such as family.

Upon their last class for the day, both Momiji and Ikuyo were approaching him. He managed to escape by traversing through the halls filled with students.

It was sheer luck that Motoyasu manages to evade the topic for this long. But he knew something must be done about this before something bad happened.

Motoyasu chuckled, walking down the sidewalk to his apartment. "Like that will ever happen. Both Ikuyo and Momiji are too nice for that outcome to happen." The blonde said to himself. "I'll just wait it out until it's the right moment to talk."

The blonde smiles, too oblivious to notice any major details about avoiding two of his friends.

His apartment isn't that too grand, it is a two-story building in a simple neighborhood with the same people doing the same thing.

Pretty much a boring life for anyone who likes to advance, but for Motoyasu it's a place where he can be alone. Though at some moments he does crave someone like him, a person he could pal around with and talk about stuff, like gaming.

Motoyasu sighs, knowing that it's rare to find someone like that. His brown eyes look up, making his way back to his home.

The next day was a day off from school, however, that doesn't mean from work. Motoyasu works at a convenience store, pretty much he and this other kid work there while the manager does his thing in the back as the manager.

Motoyasu expected this day was going to be the same, as usual, once he finished work, he went straight home. However, when he left the convenience store, he saw a kid around sixteen or fifteen years old.

He has messy black hair and green eyes, by the looks of it, he looks like a foreigner. Curious, Motoyasu approached him. "Hey, are you lost?" He asked in Japanese,

The kid was startled by his voice, he turned around and Motoyasu got a good look at him. What he assumed was right, he was around the teen range. "Um, do you understand me? Do you speak Japanese by any chance?"

All this kid did was blinked at him, trying to decipher what he was saying. "Um…me don't speak Japanese well." Motoyasu could tell that this kid can't speak Japanese fluently. His Japanese was decent, but it was bad,

Luckily for Motoyasu, he learned to speak English at his University. "Give me a moment," The blonde man cleared his throat, remembering his lessons from class.

"Alright…can you understand me?" Motoyasu asked the foreigner.

The strange blinks, smiling that this person can speak English. "Y-Yes, I do; you speak English?" He asked.

Motoyasu shrugs, "A bit, but I can still understand the phrases you say." He took a good look at the foreigner, he was curious about how he got here in Fuyuki. "Sorry if this seems rude, but did your family just move here? You seem a little out of place standing in the middle of the sidewalk."

The boy chuckled, scratching his head, "Um…you see I just moved to Fuyuki two days ago by myself. Me being some sort of adventure decided to explore the city but…"

"You've gotten yourself lost." Motoyasu stares at the young teen, definitely right about him. This kid seems to be good at heart, and if he encounters someone else, he would've been taken advantage of at another glance. 'It wouldn't hurt if I show him to help him get used to his surroundings.'

Motoyasu cleared his throat, looking at the kid before him. "I can help you with that, I lived in this city long enough to understand the layout." The blonde man smiles, offering the new face to Fuyuki his help.

"You're willing to help me out?" The kid asked this stranger, a bit unsure why he was offering to him. "But you just met me and I'm sure you're busy with your life and-"

Motoyasu held out his hand to the new kid in the City. "You know, I remember a teacher of mine told me that helping people will make the World closer to a better place." The College student explains to him. "I wasn't sure what she meant, but I think she was trying to say is helping people is always a good thing." He ponders, making a face.

The Kid smiles before chuckling at the face Motoyasu was making. "R-Really? Is that your reason?" He continues laughing,

The blonde College student burst into a laughing fit when he heard him laughing. Motoyasu looks at the Kid wanting to know him better. "I know it's convoluted, but hey it's something." Motoyasu shrugs before offering his hand to him. "My name is Motoyasu Kitamura." He introduced himself to the teen.

The Kid looked at his hand and obliges his gesture. "I'm H-Fujimaru Ritsuka."

Motoyasu woke up, sitting on his bed within the Castle, he turns his head to the window. He placed his hand over his head, "W-What happened? H-How did I-" His eyes widen, now remembering what happened. "R-Ritsuka, where-"

The Lancer gritted his teeth, he place his hand over his chest feeling the bandages around his body.

The door opened and walking in was Myne and a few Castle Nurses. "Motoyasu-sama! You're awake!" The First Princess of the Kingdom rushed over to his bed. "Oh, Motoyasu-sama, you had us worried when you were not waking up when Heroic Knights Gawain and Tristan found you!" She cried,

The Heroic Knight looks over at his Aid at the Roundtable. "D-Did you say Heroic Knight Gawain? Ren's back in the castle?" Motoyasu asked the red-haired Princess.

Myne nodded, confirming what the Heroic Knight said. "Y-Yes, Sir Ren manages to escape the Devil of the Shield's captivity and-"

Motoyasu swiftly got out of bed, despite having just pants on. He ran out of his room as the nurses and the Heroic Knight Aid Guinevere called out to him to stop.

Motoyasu huffs, running down the halls of the castles, searching for the rest of the Three Heroes Roundtable. He then spots a black armored Knight patrolling the hall and approached him. "You, do you know where Heroic Knight Gawain's at?" He asked the Knight.

The black Knight turns his head to the stairs of the Throne room. Motoyasu understood what he was motioning to. "Right, thanks a lot!"

The Lancer rushed over to the stairs where Ren and a Noblewoman were talking in the hall. "I daresay, this is unexpected of you Heroic Knight Gawain." The Noblewoman stated,

"I know…I've seen-"

The Noblewoman raised her hand at Ren's face. "I daresay that's quite enough. I shall take your word for it, Heroic Knight Gawain." She closed her mouth and looked to the side.

Ren's eyes caught the Noblewoman looking to the side. There stood a Motoyasu, only wearing pants. "M-Motoyasu…"

Motoyasu smiles, walking forward to his fellow Hero. "Ren! It's good to see you back here safe!" He ecstatically stated.

"It's good to be back, Motoyasu." Ren looks at the Heroic Knight Lancelot before looking at the Noblewoman leaving the area.

"So how was it?" Motoyasu asked the black-haired Hero, causing a bit of confusion.

Ren blinks, unsure what the blonde man was asking. "How's what, Motoyasu?" The Saber asked the Lancer.

"You know, how was it like to be a prisoner of war with Ritsuka?" The blonde Lancer was curious how Chaldea and Naofumi were treating him. "After what Saber said about Chaldea using him as a puppet for their crimes…"

The Heroic Knight Gawain sighs seeing that Motoyasu truly cares for Fujimaru. "H-He's doing fine, they're not mistreating him or anything." Ren ensures him that the Magus from the Stars is fine with them. "L-List-"

"Heroic Knight Gawain, Heroic Knight Lancelot, I see you're catching up after a long separation." The two Heroic Knights turned to Saber of Melromarc walking to them.

After what he saw back in Brightwell and what information he received from Ritsuka, Ren is wary of the Grand Servant before them. "Saber, what are you doing here? I thought you would be with the King?"

The pale blonde-haired Saber smiles at the two Heroes, "I was just searching for you two. King Aultcray wants to speak with the entire Roundtable regarding the events at the Border." The Grand Servant informed them.

"Ah…that…" Motoyasu sighs, remembering the event clearly. Though he wasn't there, for the most part, he was there when the Border walls got destroyed. "We'll be there right away Saber," The Spear Hero stated.

"But first, put some clothes on, Motoyasu." The black-haired Hero motions to every bit of him.

Motoyasu looks down, noticing that he was only wearing brownish-red pants. "GAH! Sorry!"

Saber chuckled, turning around, and walking towards the Throne room. "Just put on some clothes, Sir Lancelot then head to the Throne room." He stated, leaving the two behind in the halls.

The Grand Servant paused, turning his head to the shadows. "I see you're still alive, Lancer." His golden eyes looked at Sanada Yukimura, gripping his arm.

"Heh, what do you expect from a Lancer who's against a Saber?" Yukimura chuckled, looking up at the Saber. "Seems like the Queen has gained some Servants to join her. By the looks of it, Chaldea will join as well when they meet."

The Saber chuckled, seeing that this outcome was expected as much. "No worries, it might be earlier than expect but the Chaldean master and the Shield Hero will meet the Queen eventually." He stated, walking to the window and seeing the darkness spreading among the Humans and Demi-Humans he lit a few months ago.

"By the time they arrived to take back the Country, things will be prepared." Saber smiles before hearing some footsteps coming from the sides. His golden eyes shift to the hooded figures, wearing the Three Heroes Church's symbol.

"Lord Saber, we've started with the preparations you requested." The Mage informed the pale blonde Servant. "All we need is your approval,"

The Grand Servant chuckled walking over to the group of Mages, about to go off with them.

Yukimura looks at the Anomaly King, "So, your plan that you've been plotting is coming to its final stages." He asked, feeling the dark aura around the Capital. However, he has one question about one part of his plan. "Saber, what do you plan for those two you've called?"

Saber turns his head to one of the four Servants that represent their master. "You don't need to concern yourself with them, Lancer." He smiles, walking away from the Lancer. "But if you want to stick around, then I suggest you get yourself healed up."

Yukimura watches as the corrupted Grand Servant, "After all, you desire to meet that Saber who beaten you." Saber suggested to the Servant as he walks away.

Yukimura scoffs that Saber's assumption was correct, and he headed to the Medical Wing to get healed for the next encounter. "Heh, I guess I should train afterward…Saber of the Heroes Partisan," He frowns at his face appearing in his mind. "I swear I will beat you…"

After getting dressed, Motoyasu made his way to the Throne room where the others were waiting. Ren sat on the right side of the Roundtable with Itsuki and Mald sat on the left. Myne sat at the end of the table with an empty seat or him.

"Ah, Heroic Knight Lancelot I'm glad you're doing well." Aultcray Melromarc XXXII greeted the strongest Hero in the Three Heroes Roundtable. "Now that Heroic Knight Gawain has returned to the Roundtable, we can return to the other matters on hand."

"Matter?" Ren asked, not really a part of the meetings for quite some time. Mainly due to him being kept as a prisoner by Chaldea, "What matter are we talking about?"

Aultcray turns to the black-haired Hero, "A-Ah, y-you see Heroic Knight Gawain, during your captivity by the enemy Saber has spoken to me about a weapon that could tip the scales against the Waves of Calamity." The corrupt King explains to the returned Hero.

Ren was now worried, "Weapon? What weapon?" He asked the Roundtable, hoping for more information from them.

Itsuki sighs, slouching in his chair, "Saber said that this weapon is gifted from the Gods or something like that." The Archer stated, his eyes darker at the mere thought of the weapon. "If we have something like that, we could easily finish the Waves and deal with Chaldea. Especially that Bitchy Princess." He growls at the thought of Baobhan Sith.

"That's right, that faker calling herself Fairy Knight Tristan and copied Heroic Knight Tristan abilities." Mald stated, having experience with the Fairy Knight. "She and the other guy had copied the strings and bow of Failnaught."

The Heroic Knight growls at the mere name of the Fairy Princess. "Fairy Knight Tristan…"

"Itsuki, are you okay? You seem different." Motoyasu looked at Heroic Knight Tristan, sensing that something is off with him. He's more…darker and more selfish than usual.

Myne waved her hand at the strongest Hero of the Roundtable. "Motoyasu-sama, don't mind Heroic Knight Tristan and Heroic Knight Aid Gareth, they're just mad that they were beaten by two fake Tristans." The Princess stated.

Heroic Knight Aid Gareth growls at the First Princess, hearing what she said. "Tch, at least Heroic Knight Tristan was able to injure one of those wannabes, Heroic Knight Lancelot was off somewhere doing who knows what?" He retorted,

"How dare you, I have you know that Heroic Knight Lancelot is the Roundtable's strongest Hero!" Heroic Knight Aid Guinevere hissed at her fellow Aid to the Roundtable.

Motoyasu turns to Myne, trying to calm her down. "M-Myne, calm down." The Lancer said calmly, he turns to the King wanting to continue with the meeting. "Y-Your Highness, if you could continue informing Ren."

"Yes, Heroic Knight Gawain, the weapon that Saber asked both Heroic Knight Lancelot and Tristan to search for is important," Aultcray added to his statement, "This weapon is very powerful for the Kingdom of Melromarc to defeat the Waves. But it was split a long time ago,"

Ren nodded, catching what he was saying. "Then where are the pieces? If you have records of the Weapon then you should have the possible location." The Saber stated,

Aultcray nodded, "The first piece was in the hands of the Pope but with recent reports, it's in the hands of Chaldea." The King informed the Roundtable.

Motoyasu slams his fist on the table at the information he was given. "Ritsuka! You idiot! You have no idea what you just got in your hands!" He cursed, not sure what his brother was thinking.

"Do you have any idea what Fujimaru would do with that Weapon?" Itsuki asked the only person who would know about the master of Chaldea. "You are his brother after all."

"From what he said, it's been years since he'd seen me." The blonde Hero stated, unsure what happened during those years without him. "It must be Chaldea that wants that Weapon,"

Aultcray nodded, "If this Chaldea has their fingers around your brother, Heroic Knight Lancelot. They must be here to use him to destroy our World, just like Saber said." The King stated, seeing what they are doing.

"If we were to go after Fujimaru then we might break several laws when we cross the border." Ren played along, saving Ritsuka from them going after him. Everyone agreed with what the Heroic Knight said, if they were to cross the borders then international conflicts with other Countries will rise and Melromarc isn't stable for that in their state.

Itsuki looks up, having an idea. "If Fujimaru and Chaldea have a piece of the Weapon, then they might come back for the other pieces."

Motoyasu's eyes widen realizing what that means. "That means there's a possibility that Ritsuka would come back to Melromarc then we can catch him!"

"Then we need the other locations of the other pieces of the Weapon!" Myne exclaims,

"Yes, that's a reasonable choice, my Daughter." Aultcray agreed with the red-haired Bitch. He turns to look at the Three Heroes Roundtable, knowing what to do now. "Then I shall tell you where the pieces are, Three Heroes Roundtable. Your main mission now is to locate and be stationed where the remaining pieces are."

"Upon seeing Heroic Knight Lancelot's brother, you are to capture him and the piece he has." The corrupt King ordered the Roundtable, wanting this issue to be resolved.

"Yes, your Majesty!" They all agreed with the plan of action.

Once the Roundtable meeting was over, Ren walks alone in the halls. He looks around, ensuring that no one was following him and was alone.

"Heroic Knight Gawain," The same Noblewoman appeared from the shadows, standing before the Saber.

Ren turns to the Shadow, a spy for the Queen having some information to give her. "I have some information for Caster regarding the Roundtable…"

The Shadow nodded, hearing what the Heroic Knight have to say.

Royal Castle of Faubrey, three days after the Border Battle

"…And that's their plan, your Majesty." The Shadow reported via communication mirror.

Queen Mirellia Q Melromarc nodded, hearing the information from her Shadow in the Castle. "I see, so the Magus from the Stars manage to gain Heroic Knight Gawain to his side." The violet-haired Queen smiles, happy to have another Cardinal Hero joining the opposition.

The Shadow nodded, "Yes, but I daresay that the other two members of the Three Heroes Roundtable were not able to be convinced to join our side." She informed the Queen further of the ongoings within the Kingdom.

Mirellia sighs, already knowing that they'll have to face the Roundtable. "That's unfortunate, but there's no use dwelling on it now." The Queen stated. "But as long the Magus from the Stars and the Shield Hero escape, then we have a fighting chance."

"Indeed, your Majesty. I'm sure once master arrives in this spectacular Steampunk Kingdom, your forces will be stronger!" A brunette woman in a unique style of clothing, she wore blue gloves with one hand wearing a gauntlet and a Staff,

"Though to say the least, even if you have the Amazon Tribe, Faubrey's army, a few small men from other countries, and your own personal army. Your Kingdom's army is strong alongside the Three Heroes Church's support, the Three Heroes Roundtable's Holy Weapons, and two Servants from the enemy master's side," The Servant stated, seeing the pieces laid out on the board. "I say we get out work cut out when the time comes to retake the Kingdom."

Mirellia agreed with the Servant who recently came to her. "Yes, all we can do is wait until they arrived, Lady Da Vinci." The Queen turns to the brunette Servant, "In your experience, what do you think the chances of victory would lie?"

Caster Da Vinci smiles, walking beside the Queen of Melromarc and looking down at Rider of Bermuda training the soldiers "If I'm to be honest here, our chances are fifty-fifty. After all, there's a lot of unknown factors at play here." The Head of the Technology Development Division answered. "But with my experience when master and Chaldea deal with anything with the Roundtable, at the darkest moment there's always something that'll tip the scales to our side."

"I hope you're right, Lady Da Vinci." Mirellia prayed, wanting to do what was right.

Siltvelt, Border Town

"Mmmm," Ritsuka moans, sitting up on his bed. He looks around, seeing that he was in a small room in a village beyond Melromarc's Borders.

It's been three days since they departed from Melromarc and entered Siltvelt. Saber of the Hero Partisan has guided them to a small town where they can rest, luckily this town was a part of the rebellion too.

The townspeople were welcoming to them when they arrived. Especially to Naofumi due to his status as the Shield Hero, which they revere. The town's mayor has offered them to stay while some of their group recuperate after a long trip here.

To Tristan, Castoria, and his surprise the mayor was an Elf. Not just any plain Elf, but his name is Harobalomia. The same hairstyle, color, eyes, and clothes were the same; even the silver branch crown he wore.

But instead of an argumentative side nor a Wind Clan member like the Harobalomia in the Britain Lostbelt, this Harobalomia was kind and supportive to his people. That extends to the group they were escorting.

Many of their group are getting used to the town, most seeing it as their new home.

Ritsuka doesn't mind that some of the villagers decide to stay here. He may take up the leader position of the group, but he wasn't cut out to lead them in the long run.

He felt a slight tug on his arm and saw Pavel latching on like a child to his parent. Ritsuka smiles and gently removed his arm and replaced the pillow with the one was sleeping on. Despite the shifting, the grey-haired Demi-Human child still sleeps. Fou was next to him, curled up in his usual sleeping position.

"Pavel sure sleeps like a rock, he's like me sometimes." Ritsuka chuckles, turning his head only to see an outfit hanging at the closet door. Ever since they regroup with the main group, Pavel was immediately by his side.

He walks over to the outfit and sees a small note on the hanger.

'Master,

I have created a new Mystic Code to disguise yourself like the adventurers of this World. Keep in mind that our allies will see you as you, but the enemies will not.

From,

Arturia Avalon and Morgan'

Ritsuka smiles, seeing that both his Servants worked their hardest to make this. He took a look at the Mystic Code they made and could tell that this is more suitable for this World than the one he was wearing. "I have to say, this looks nice."

He puts on the Mystic Code and steps in front of the mirror. The Mystic Code fits him perfectly, he still wore the black shirt and fingerless gloves but over it was the red jacket, a white scarf, and a small white shoulder armor piece. He wore grey pants with brown boots that reach his upper knee cap.

Around his waist was a holster for his Sword and a couple of pockets for his gems.

Ritsuka chuckles, fixing his cuffs in the mirror. "You look like an adventurer Ritsuka," He turns around to see Pavel rubbing his eyes from sleep.

"Fou," Fou hops on the small child's head, his ears flatten as they look up.

"Good morning to the both of you, I hope you're all rested." Ritsuka smiles at Fou and possibly the descendent of Fou in this World.

Pavel nodded as did Fou. "Yeah, though I do miss sleeping outside." The little child answered, missing the sight of the stars.

"Fou, Fou, (Special Translation: It's all right, Pavel. We can stargaze later when the night sky returns!)" The Beast spoke, comforting the little boy.

Pavel giggles, his eyes shift upwards and smiles at Fou. "That sounds fun, Fou! You want to join us, Ritsuka?" The Demi-Human child asked.

Ritsuka nodded, understanding the boy's wish. "That does sound like fun, Pavel."

Suddenly a knock interrupts the small conversation between him and Pavel. "Fou?" Fou looks up, curious who was at the door.

"Master, I'm coming in." A blonde King enters the room, he saw his master in the Mystic Code that his Lostbelt Counterpart and Sister gave him. "Seems like both Arturia and Sister's Mystic Code looks good on you, master."

"Saber, good morning. Is there something you need of me?" Ritsuka asked the King of Knights.

Arthur nodded, "There are a few things that need to be addressed, such as a meeting with Lord Harobalomia, Tristan's recovery with Sister, Agravain's army recruitment, and the meeting with Saber of the Heroes Partisan."

Ritsuka nodded, seeing there's a lot on his plate right now as the Chaldean master and Temp Lord of Brightwell. He turns to Pavel, seeing that he also has a responsibility to him, "Pavel, do you mind if you can wait on me for the stargazing?" He asked.

Pavel smiles, stepping off the bed and walking up to him. "T-Then can I join you? I-I don't mind following you around, Ritsuka." The Demi-Human boy looks down nervously.

"If you're alright with it, Pavel." Ritsuka smiles, petting the boy's head. "Then I'll be alright with it too."

The boy had a bright smile on his face and quickly got changed to join the man he looked up to as a father.
