I did the first three chapters a while ago and just now decided to upload these here so welcome to Pyschonauts my version.

DM77's Pyschonauts Prologue
Welcome to Whispering Rock
It was late one night, at a very particular camp one that was unlike most, on the surface it would appear to be like any other summer camp but in reality, it was something special.
The kid campers were sitting at the campfire pit where a slideshow was illuminated on a large wooden screen showing an image of a human brain with parts labelled.
"The human mind." Someone said off to the side, sounding like it was coming from a helmet "Six hundred miles of synaptic fiber, five and a half ounces of cranial fluid, fifteen hundred grams of complex neural matter…"
The figure walks up revealing he was a figure in all read sci-fi looking armour with an orange visor, this was Sarge a drill sergeant like instructor here at the camp.
"A three-pound pile of dreams." Sarge said to the kids as he continued "But I tell you what it really is. It is the ultimate battlefield and, the ultimate weapon. The wars of this modern age, The Psychic Age, are all fought somewhere between these damp, curvaceous undulations."
He rubs the brain image before turning back to say "From this day forward, you are all Psychic Soldiers. Paranormal Paratroopers! Mental Marines who are about to ship out on the adventure of their lives!"
"THIS IS OUR BEACHHEAD." Sarge said pointing to a part of the brain image. He then points to his head "And this is your landing craft! You shall engage the enemy in his own mentality! You shall chase his dreams, you shall fight his demons, you shall live his nightmares!"
"And those of you who fight well, you will find yourselves on the path to becoming international secret agents. In other words…. Psychonauts!" Sarge said nearing the end on what he feels is an inspirational speech "The rest of you…WILL DIE."
These words terrified the kids who at youngest maybe 8 to 11 years old at least, the campers were Mr. Hippo, Lucio, Luna Loud, Alejandro, Violet Parr, Buford, Baljeet, Chloe Bourgeois, Kristoff, Sabreina, Tony Rydinger, Heather, Veronica, Flash Sentry, Cheese Sandwich, Lisa Simpson and Pain.
There was also a boy in a tattered blue vest and brown shirt and shorts named Nelson Muntz, also a small dark skinned boy in a green jersey shirt, blue shorts and a white camp that' seemed to be lined with tinfoil named DJ and finally was a white skinned girl with blond short hair wearing an aqua-colored jumpsuit, an orange sweatshirt with purple stripes, and gray and brown sandals known as Rachel Mckenzie
After a while of stunned silence DJ bursts into tears and starts crying scared. This annoyed a bit the other two adults there, one was a white skinned man with white hair in a green shirt and black pants, white labe coat and green lensed classes, his left arm (His POV) is a robotic one, he is Wizard or Wiz for short
The other is a human cat girl with long blue hard and white fur, she was also wear a white top and blush shorts to be a bit decent. Her name was Felicia.
The two approach the campers and Wiz shaking his head said "Oh, Sarge." He had one job to inspire the campers not traumatize them.
"Relax children, you are not going to die." Felicia said to the camper to reassure them.
"Well, if you're not a Psychonaut, you might as well be dead in my opinion!" Sarge then said firmly.
DJ sniffs still upset and said, "My mama told me this was a Summer Camp!" This amuses Nelson as he smirks along with Pain
"Oh, DJ. Don't worry about Old Sarge over there." Rachel said reassuring him "I myself have been coming here for years, and believe me nothing ever happens here."
"Yeah, DJ. Rachel's right." Nelson said butting in and smirking "You don't have anything to worry about…except for the giant monster in the lake I was telling you about on the bus." DJ shudders scared as he recalls
Rumour was that in the lake at the this campsite was a giant lake monster, of course there was no hard evidence and most belief it is just a scary story, of course didn't stop Nelson from using it to scare the other campers
"Nelson Muntz!" Sarge called out overhearing the convo "I told you to stop scaring people with that ridiculous, old legend! I don't want the kids to be afraid to out at night and walk alone on the perfectly safe paths of Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp."
Little did anyone know hiding in the bushes and trees watching the group, was a figure who was observing all of this.
"And we don't want to scare our special guests, superstar Psychonauts Wiz and Felicia!" Sarge announces introducing the two to the kids
Just then the figure moves to get close but slips and falls out the tree "Ahh!" He lets out as he fell into the bushes below behind the campers
"Lake monster!" DJ cries out and all the kids begin to panic and try to hide
"Quick, formation!" Wiz said
The Pyschonauts nod and get into psychic battle stances as they attempt to reach out to the 'lake monster' psychically as the 'creature' moves through the bushes
"It's resisting." Felicia points out as the three struggle to get a hold on it's mind. They poor more power into it and successfully lift it out of the pushes into the air "Quickly, bring it over here."
The figure was pulled through the crowd of panicking kids as the scamper and scream and it's brought to the stage "What is it?" Wiz asked looking at it
"It's just a little boy!" Felicia said in surprise
Indeed the 'lake monster' was really a boy with a bald head, wearing a red shirt, brown shorts and brown shoes, he also wearing black shades
"What's your name, dear?" Felicia asked the boy
"I'll find out!" Sarge said sounding like he was smirking and tries to reach into his mind but struggled "Can't…get…in…ach!" He loses his concentration and results in the kid being dropped
However, the kid recovers and lands on his feet with skill. He then sorts his shades and said to all present with a British accent "My name…"
"It starts with an E…" Sarge guessed
"…Is Nigel Uno Skywalker." The kid said with makes Sarge growl, Rachel was looking at him however intrigued "But everyone either refers to me as just Nigel or Numbuh 1" He added to sound cool
"Please don't kill us, lake monster!" DJ cried out in fear
"Very compelling." Wiz said thinking
"His brain is armoured like a Scorpion tank!" Sarge added in
"I apologise for being late." Nigel said to the Psychonauts "I didn't want to disrupt your briefing Agent Sarge. Agents Wiz, Felicia. Please, continue." He gets off the stage
"Where do you think you're going?" Sarge asked glaring
"You've broken into a highly classified, remote government training facility." Wiz said, "Which means I have to review the security system to see what needs to be improved on."
"I know! This is great, right?" Nigel said smiling as he sits down between DJ and Baljeet. "Listen, why don't I just sit over here quietly with my fellow PSI cadets…" He looks over to Baljeet "Hey, how goes it?" He looks to DJ "I do like your hat!"
"We have to have this young man taken from this place immediately" Wiz told Felicia and Sarge.
"I'll call his parents." Felicia said nodding
"What? But…don't you train Psychonauts here?" Nigel asked shocked, he really didn't want to go home.
"Yes, dear, but…" Felicia said and was about to explain but Nigel cuts her off
"To soar across the astral plane?" Nigel said and during this Nelson made a motion he was going to barf annoyed by this "To wage psychic warfare against the enemies of free thought?"
"Huh, that is exactly what I wrote on the front of the pamphlet for this place…" Sarge said thinking back.
"Those words are why I'm here Sarge sir." Nigel told him smiling "Do you remember what you wrote on the inside of that pamphlet?"
Nigel then begins to recount it "You were born with a special gift. But the people around you treat it like a curse. Your mother is afraid of you, and your father looks at you with shame in his eyes." During this it looks like Sarge is following along mimicking the words "Come to Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp, and you can show them all!"
"Back home, your powers make you a loner, an outcast, a circus freak." Nigel continues seeing his words were least swaying the couch "But in this dojo, in this Psychic dojo, they make you a hero."
Sarge trembles in admiration, seeing that his words resonated with the boy so much and said "Get that soldier a bunk at once!"
A while later all the kids were brought to the Kids Cabin area of the camp and were going to there assigned cabins
Felicia was standing with Nigel and DJ and said to the former "Now dear. You can stay here for a few days until your parents come for you. But we can't you participate in any paranormal training without your parents consent. I'm sorry." She then goes to leave
Nigel sighs and sits on the steps of the cabin. DJ sits next to him and said "Wow, that's amazing you. You're lucky to get to go home soon."
"Home?" Nigel said looking at him not happy "Back there I was just like you were DJ, punished by my own family for having powers I never asked for. Well…maybe you got it a bit easier since your family has well know psychics one who is in the Psychonauts. But here, I have a chance to be something. To make a difference."
Nigel looks to DJ and said "They may come for me, DJ, but they'll be looking for Nigel, the boy. What they're going to find…What they don't expect is Nigel, the Psychonaut." He strikes a cool psychic pose
"Oh and…and then you'll make their heads explode?" DJ asked smiling
"No!" Nigel said horrified "Wait, do you do that?"
"No! Of course not!" DJ denied "Well…except for that one time, sort of. However, that is why I wear this special hat." The two head into their cabin "Hey, you want to try it on?"
"No, no, it's fine" Nigel said, he feared what would happen when DJ takes the hat off.
Meanwhile the three Psychonauts gathered close by to talk, the topic was of course Nigel and his unique mind. Wiz was interested in using that mind for a special experiment he was planning which Sarge was dead against.
"But he has mental defences like I've never seen in someone at such a young age." Wiz explained "If I could just get him in my lab for some experiments, I'm sure he can withstand more than the others!"
"That kids' one in a million Wiz!" Sarge told him "But I'm not going to let you turn him into one of your guinea pigs!" He looks over to the cabin and smirks under his helmet "I've got big plans for that mind"
Once in the cabin Nigel saw he was sharing a cabin with Baljeet who was crying in a bottom bunk, Alejandro who was doing pushups in the top bunk and DJ who was sleeping in a bottom bunk.
He chose the one with DJ and gets in the bunk on top and fills out his name on the nameboard. He then lies down on the bed and takes in the sight of the camp from the window and was about to drift off
"Alight, settle down in here!" Sarge calls out from the entrance "BIG DAY tomorrow! I want to see each and every one of you runts in my classroom at oh-six-hundred hours on the dot! I'm the early bird and you're the worms, understand? Now…LIGHTS OUT!"
With that the lights turn off and the kids go to sleep, Nigel smiles as he removes his sunglasses big day tomorrow, he had to do his best and somehow pass all the tests needed to qualify to be a Psychonaut or it was back home for him.
Looks like Nigel's got his work come out but are bigger more dangerous plans in the works?
