Duo Halfbreeds

Chapter One: Truth From Beyond the Stars

When the birds are chirping, and the sun is shining on a bright day, what could possibly go wrong? The gentle breeze flew, only a few degrees cooler than the actual temperature. It was great for those who were under the shade to try and cool off, at least on some parts of the Earth.

There were plenty of arctic and desert wastelands where the weather would beg to differ, even rainforests and jungles that were humid and moist. As for the spotlight of this story however, the case was simple, plenty of trees, plenty of sun, and a higher altitude.

With what was a beautiful morning and a seemingly restful house, two…tails? Popped up at the end of a bed. A large bed which Goku and Chichi had slept on, when Chichi thought she'd heard something, almost thinking she swore she could hear the faintest sound of giggling, she fell quickly back to sleep after reassuring herself.

On the other side of the bed, one could see two little kids. One on the right that wore a hanfu-style top, that was yellow with green sleeves, as well as a huge Kanji in the middle, green baggy pants, and a red-hat with a four-star ball on. He also had black boots with yellow lasing on.

He had slightly longer than shoulder length spiky but well-kept hair that was black as could be, his skin was light complexion similar to that of Chichi. The one next to him was a spitting image of Goku, with the difference of his hair being wilder and more messy, having ears like his mother, and slightly tanner skin complexion.

He also donned a blue changshan with a long sleeve lavender shirt and white folded sleeve tips. He also had lavender baggy pants and wore black Kung-fu styled shoes on his feet.

"Sshh! Sssh!" The one on the right whispered. The one on the left nodded and covered his mouth. As the two walked towards Goku's side of the bed, peaking over they could see their father, snoring lightly and peacefully.

As their faces formed a mischievous look and they went to run up to him but something prevented either of them moving. Quickly, they realized it was their mother who grabbed them, and after a quick struggle, they realized they had failed.

"Gohan, Goten, What're you two doing?" Chichi asked as she placed them back down.

Their gazes moved to the ground and Gohan twiddle his fingers. "D-Dad said he'd train us today, so we were gonna come wake him.." Gohan answered.

"Let your Dad sleep, you can wait til he wakes." Chichi spoke up.

Both boys frowned. "Awwww! But I want to train now!" Goten whined. "You said it was fine! You said, You said!" He had an eager and almost begging look on his face.

Chichi gave a short chuckle but stood her ground. "And if you aren't patient, I may have to revoke that privilege." She said. Goten pouted and huffed. "Now go along and go do your homework. I'll have breakfast ready soon."

Goten and Gohan sighed and walked towards their room. "Ohkaay." Both of them replied. They returned quickly to their room, in there was a bunk bed, with two twin mattresses. There was a large detailed rug on the middle of the floor, with a road going through a zoomed out town, and out past the town.

It turned right and hit the corner of the rug. There was also a small wooden table with two small chairs on it, one on each end. On the table was a closed book with a pencil attached to the metal rings and there was an open book with a pencil horizontally on it.

From entering the room, a large dark oak desk could be seen off to the left in the corner, it seemed empty and waiting to be used. Off to the right, there was a big metal rack with three rows of plastic tubs laying on it.

The tubs didn't have too many toys but they were completely organized. A bunch of army men in one tub, a bunch of small toy cars and trucks in another, a few stuffed figure toys in one and in another there were a few action figures.

Most tubs however were empty, and then there was a red tub full of legos. On the side of the metal rack was a bag of building blocks similar to mega bloks. Gohan and Goten walked to the little table and sat on the chairs.

Goten sat on the end with the open book and pencil, and Gohan sat with the closed book and pencil attached to the rings. Gohan opened his book and removed his pencil from the rings, flipping to a specific page and began reading.

Goten on the hand, having his page already open, looked at it for two seconds and sighed heavily. "I'm booooooooooreeeeeeed!" He complained. He placed his left cheek against his hand, and fiddled with his pencil.

Gohan sighed. "Me too….." He added. "But Mommy won't let us train until we finish homework."

Goten's eyes wandered for a split second and moved back. "I don't wanna do homework, it's boring and hard." He replied. Goten gave another sigh and picked up his pencil as he began to read through the paper.

About thirty minutes later.. "Gohan! Goten! Breakfast!" Chichi shouted. She placed several trays on the table, each one had a small bowl of miso soup, a bowl of rice, a small rectangular plate with a fillet of steamed fish, and a smaller plate of boiled vegetables.

However, two trays were much smaller, with even smaller dishes and portions of food. Of course as quickly as the two boys came, an older male was already in the room eating his plate of food.

"Goku. You're awake!" Chichi said, happily.

Goku nodded as he swallowed his food. "Mornin, Chi! The food tastes great!" He answered, continuing to eat after. Gohan and Goten got to their plates, both on opposite ends of each other, and picked their chopsticks up as they took some rice and fish, eating it at the same time.

As Goku finished slurping a little bit of the broth from the soup and placed it down, he took quick notice of his two boys. "You guys ready for today?!"

Goten and Gohan nodded, giving excited looks ."Yeah!" They said simultaneously.

Goku gave a smile. "Good! We'll get started after breakfast and then head over to Kame House a little bit later." He was quick to finish his food, and slip on his gi shortly afterwards, tightening the sash around his waist. "You boys ready?" The three were standing by the front door, Goten and Gohan both in Martial Artist Gis.

The Gi's were similar to Goku's gi, although they were sleeveless, the undershirts, belts, and boots were black instead of blue, and the wristbands were a tinge blue lighter than Goku's gi. The two followed their Dad outside where there was not one but two wooden poles.

The wooden poles were about eighteen inches in diameter, and about three feet tall. Off to the far right of Goku was another taller and bigger wooden pole, only a little bit wider in diameter but several feet taller.

"Okay. First things first, I want you two to show me the best punch you can throw." Goku said. "Sounds good alright?"

Both gave a joyful nod, pulling their fists back and whacked it against the wooden poles, not realizing how hard it would be. "Ow-Ouch!" Both shouted. Gohan bounced back and began rubbing his hand, sobbing lightly.

Goten placed his hand in pain under his other hand and against his mouth. "That huuurt!" Goten whined.

Gohan nodded. "Yeah! You didn't tell us it would hurt!" He added.

Goku dripped a bit of sweat on his face as it froze with a short nervous laugh. "Well…" He scratched the back of his hand. "I mean what did you guys expect? It's wood…"

"You could've warned us." Goten frowned. Gohan nodded as a response.

Goku chuckled a bit. "W-Warned you? I mean…Okay.." He sighed and got down to their level."In a real fight there will not be time for me to warn you of something unexpected, okay? So think of this as training, I'm preparing you."

Gohan raised a hand. "But if it's unexpected then how can we get prepared for it?" He pointed out.

Goku scratched the side of his head, realizing this was not as simple as he thought it was gonna be. For him this was a different kind of challenge.

"You can train your instincts, if your instincts are used to certain types of situations, you can react instinctively." Goku answered.

Gohan and Goten had puzzled looks on their faces. "Instincts? You're not making sense…" Goten said, scratching the side of his head.

Goku gave another sigh. "Okay, instead let's focus on your technique." He replied. "When you guys threw your fists, you pulled them back like this." Goku did a quick demonstration of exactly what they did. "In a real fight, pulling your fist back is unrealistic. Instead, you should throw a fist like this…"

Goku turned to the taller wooden pole and took his stance. After a split-second, he threw his fist powerful at the pole, and the pole went flying, crashing through several trees. The boys were shocked and amazed.

"Woah!" Goten shouted. "How did you do that!?" A huge smile formed on his face.

"I wanna do that!" Gohan added.

Goku laughed. "First, we need to work on the basics, then we can work on…getting to somewhere like that." He answered, his eyes glancing over to the unnecessary destruction he caused as he realized he could've been gentler about it. "How about this.."

Within a moment, on the poles were two foam mats attached vertically to them. "There now it should be softer for ya and you should be able to practice your punches." Goku said. "I wanna see you practice your punches for at least thirty minutes, okay?"

Goten and Gohan nodded. "Okay!" They both said simultaneously. The two walked up to their poles and started throwing their fists against it. About thirty seconds later, Goku took quick notice of a few things and walked up to them.

"Okay, stop for a second." Goku said. Both of his sons looked at him with confused looks. "Gohan, I want you to form a fist for me."

Gohan nodded and made a fist with his right hand. "Is this good?" His hand was closed but his thumb was inside his fist. Goku grabbed his hand and moved his thumb outside of his hand, lining it up with the tip of the middle phalange of his fingers.

"From now on, form your fists like this." Goku said. Gohan nodded in response and Goku moved to Goten. "Form a fist, Goten."

Goten nodded and formed a fist, his was close but his middle finger was further up. Goku pushed his middle finger to align with the rest of his fingers. "Throw your fist like this from now on, got it?" Goku asked. Goten gave a nod. "Before you were doing a knuckle punch and those tend to be for specific attacks."

Goku went and sat back down as he watched them throw their fists for another several minutes. After about fifteen minutes, they stopped, and turned around.

"I'm tired…" Gohan said.

"I'm tired too." Goten added. "And thirsty…"

Goku made a surprised look. "T-Tired?" He replied. "Already? C'mon you guys have only been at this for fifteen minutes." Goku gave a sigh and shrugged. "Okay, five minute break and you guys can get some water."

Both of the boys's faces lit up as they ran inside the house quickly. Five minutes passed and they were outside again, but before they began throwing their fists again, Goku had something new to show them.

"Before you guys start…" Goku said. Both of his boys turned their attention to him. "When you throw your fists, I want you to throw it more like this." Goku straightened his fist then bent his elbow, and launched it in the air quickly after. "Keep your elbows bent, and your fists close to your face, got it?"

They nodded. "Yes!" Both simultaneously said.

"You want it so that when you throw your fist, it's ready to hit the enemy at any given second. Keep it close to your face and vital parts to protect yourself, and aim." Goku instructed. "I want you two to throw your fists another twenty minutes, alright? It's not going to be the most fun, ok?"

Again they nodded and did as their Dad instructed. "While you guys are at it, throw them in a pattern." He threw his right fist. "One." He threw his left fist but retracted his right fist. "Two." He retracted both fists and turned his attention to his kids. "Like that, one, two, one, two, think you guys can handle that?"

Gohan and Goten nodded in response and continued throwing fists against the softened pole. Twenty minutes had passed and they stopped again.

"Is that it?" Gohan asked. "I don't wanna do it anymore."

Goten nodded. "Yea. Me neither."

Goku made a puzzled look. "Really?" He asked, and they nodded in response. "I guess we can stop for now." He gave a heavy sigh. "How about this, we head over to Master Roshi's and maybe we can show you boys some cool techniques?"

Their faces lit up. "Yes! That sounds cool!" Goten cheered.

"Can you show us one of your techniques from your stories?" Gohan asked.

Goten nodded quickly as his head moved from Gohan to Goku. "Yeah! Yeah! Do that!"

"Okay, but AFTER we get to Kame House." Goku answered.

In the distant farmlands…

"Welp that outta bout do it." A short and overweight man had finished his daily chores. He is but a simple farmer, in his hand was a pitch fork, in the back of his truck was several bales of hale. He closed the tailgate and walked towards the driver seat door, only to stop as he heard an odd sound.

When he looked to the sky, he could only briefly see a flying object and hear it coming down before it turned silent and disappeared from his eyes, his eyes of which went wide. He could tell the fast flying unidentified object had only crashed perhaps a mile away at the most.

"W-What the hell was that!?" The farmer gasped. He quickly hopped in his truck and drove to the object, cautiously as he got closer. He parked about thirty feet away from the crash scene, grabbing his shotgun as he hesitantly got out of the truck.

Swallowing hard, he peaked over the hood of his truck, looking at the deep crater. He gave a surprised look when he saw the size of the crater.

"M-Maybe I should just come back later and call the police…" He thought. He nodded to himself, turning to his door until he heard a strange noise. His curiosity peaked but again brushed it off, opening the door to his truck, as he began to pull himself in, until he heard another strange noise.

Out of a strange mixture of fear and curiosity, he turned back over to peak at the crater again, and again he heard a noise. Footsteps! As quickly as he heard it, they stopped. The farmer got closer to the crater, his shotgun in hand and ready.

When he approached the edge, something came up he did not expect, a man, nearly six feet tall, floated off the ground. The farmer could not be more in shock as he fell back, dropping his shotgun, and shook. The man in front of the farmer had wildly long and untamed hair, blacker than the night sky.

He was wearing some strange outfit, it looked like some kind of leather suit, with three pads hanging down, and two broad shoulder pads. The man paid no mind to the farmer below him, his mind seemed elsewhere.

"So this is where you've been little brother? For these last twenty years?" The floating man thought. His eyes now finally gazed on the man below him. "Strange…I thought he wiped out the inhabitants of this planet."

Snapping back into reality and building some courage up, the Farmer grabbed his shotgun and stood up. "Y-You're on my property." The farmer said. "Y-You need to leave!"

The floating man continued to examine the man, ignoring his words. The farmer cocked his gun and repeated himself. "Y-You need to leave!" Fearfully, his finger pulled the trigger at the floating man and the floating man caught the bullet with ease.

The color drained from the Farmer's face, he froze, unable to move or act, staring in disbelief at what he saw. The floating man examined the bullet and the looked back at the farmer, and before the farmer knew it, a bullet was reflected back into his head.

"I suppose it is a large planet, perhaps Kakarot was unable to clean it a hundred percent." The man shrugged. He pressed a white button that was on a strange device on his head a couple of times. "No matter, I can help finish if needed."

The device began to quickly do the widest range scan it could, picking up hundreds of thousands of power levels lower than fifty as it ascended it's way up the brackets. Eventually, it stopped at three hundred.

The man was confused. "I don't get it. Kakarot was tasked to clean this place up, so why in hell's name, did he not do his job?" He wondered. "This power level of near three hundred, it must be him….maybe I can get my answers then." As he began to fly, he stopped for a second when something came to mind. "Or perhaps this planet was underestimated and this powerlevel was the one that killed Kakarot?"

He shook his head. "No that can't be right, there's no way this planet could have a level of near three hundred when it's predicted highest average was around twenty unless it IS Kakarot!" He said to himself. He continued flying and took off at a blazing speed.

The man flew faster than any spaceship made on Earth ever could, speeds that even they couldn't begin to dream or comprehend. Faster than light wasn't even a saying worthy of being considered to describe the insane speeds.

While Chichi continued to prepare the boys lunch, they were in the room, doing their homework. The window was opened as a gentle breeze passed through the room. Goten placed his pencil down and walked towards the window, beginning to slide over it.

"Where are you going?" Gohan asked curiously as he walked to his brother.

"I'm bored and I saw something cool yesterday by the river, so I'm gonna head over there!" Goten answered, dropping to the other side of the window.

Gohan hopped on the window ledge. "W-Wait..aren't you afraid we'll get in trouble?" He said as he dropped to the other side of the window.

Goten shook his head. "Nah, we won't be long!" He replied. Gohan seemed hesitant but then brushed it off and followed after his brother into the woods. The two rushed past several trees and bushes, going about a couple miles away til they arrived at a river.

"What is it that you saw here, Goten?" Gohan asked.

Goten ran to an odd but structurally sound stick. "Look!" He gave a mischievous smile. "It's a giant stick!" The stick for him was large but for an adult it'd be small. Goten gave a swing with the stick and a couple rapid thrusts. "Isn't it cool?!"

Goten frowned. "What? We came out here for a stupid stick."

Goten made an angry look. "Stupid stick?! What no! It's a cool stick!" He argued. He swung against a bush nearby.. "See!"

Gohan huffed. "The stick is lame! I'm going bac.." He stopped, noticing a bird landing on a nearby log. Gohan was mesmerized by its radiant colors. His eyes gazed at it as he carefully snuck towards it to get a closer look. As he got closer the bird seemed unfazed by his not-so-subtle movements.

Gohan got up on the other end of the log and placed his head on his two hands as he watched the bird. "You're a pretty bird.." He said. He watched for a few seconds longer til a loud noise, produced by his twin brother behind him, seemingly scared it off. At least that's what Gohan thought what scared it off.

"Gohan!" Goten shouted, you could see his stick slightly broken from having whacked against a hard rock. The other piece and splinters were scattered near the large rock which he'd struck. "Let's go find treasure and play pirates!"

Gohan made an angry frown and turned his head. "No! I was watching the bird and you scared it!" He growled.

Goten crossed his arms. "Pfft! Watching birds is boring! Let's go find treeeasssuuree!" He gave a cheerful look as he raised his arms.

Gohan gave a huff. "No you go play pirates yourself, you already made us sneak out, and I don't even wanna play." He answered. He looked back to see if the bird had returned but sighed when he realized it didn't.

Goten moved to go find some "treasure" and walked along the river as he searched but stopped when he heard a loud splash. He turned around and noticed his brother was gone.

"Gohan?!" He shouted. Goten ran back down to where his brother was and saw that the log was gone. "GOHAN!" Fearing the worst, Goten began to cry, wishing he hadn't snuck out with his brother, until he could hear his father's voice.

"Gohan! Goten!" Goku shouted.

Goten stopped and whipped his head around til he noticed his father in the sky. At a similar time he could hear his own brother scream for help, which assured Goten he was still alive.

"Daddy!" Gohan shouted. "H-Helpmgf" His screams were muffled by the sound of the water when the log rolled causing him to slip off for a split second.

Goku's eyes widened. "Hold on Gohan!" He shouted. "Nimbus! Faster!" The cloud raced down towards the raging river. "Come on! Just a little more!" Goku reached his hand down but no matter how much he tried, he could not speed ahead, at least not before he saw a massive mountain. "Damn it!"

Goku directed Nimbus to go around the mountain as fast as it could but by the time it got over there, Goku could see log fall with the water.

"G-Gohan!" Goku had nimbus aim for the bottom of the water before hearing his son's voice. He looked up with a completely perplexed look. The yellow cloud moved up til Goku could see his son hanging for dear life on a branch. "H-How did you get up here?"

Gohan paused his frightened demeanor and his crying, looking at his Dad then his surroundings. "I..I don't know." He answered. Quickly, He jumped into the cloud and into his father. "But it was so scary! There was this bird but he flew off and the log rolled me into the riveeeeerrrr!"

Goku had to admit he was still confused and more focused on how Gohan got to the branch. "Hey, It's okay now. You're not in the river anymore.." He said as he grabbed Gohan's hat. He shook the head, shaking the excess water off of it, and looked at Gohan. "How about we pick up your brother, head home, and get you ready to go to Master Roshi's, huh?"

Gohan nodded. "Okay!" His face had lit up, completely forgetting what happened moments ago.

"Sssshhhwwwaaoooouuu." A gentle breeze passed through a desert wasteland. On a large rock formation was The Demon King's Son, Piccolo Jr, who was meditating until he sensed an incredible and intense power.

His head whipped to the direction of the power, it was coming and fast. "T-This power!? Who…Where is it coming from!?" Piccolo looked tense and worried, sweat dripped from his face. The energy he would soon be facing was dangerous, powerful, and unworldly. He couldn't explain it but Piccolo knew it wasn't from Earth.

As the power reached him, touching down on the ground, it revealed the long haired man who killed the farmer from earlier. Piccolo was quick to take a defensive stance as he stared down the man who stared back, examining Piccolo.

"Strange…" The man spoke. "I was looking for one called, Kakarot, but it appears I found you instead." He raised a brow, taking great detailed mental notes on some of Piccolo's features. "You wouldn't happen to know a Kakarot, would you?"

Piccolo kept a calm stature. "No I don't." He answered. "How about you tell me who the hell you are instead."

The man remained silent, ignoring him after his first reply. He pressed the big white button on the device around his face as it scanned through again. "It appears there's a few higher than average power levels this way." He'd turned to face east.

"Hey!" Piccolo yelled. "Either speak or get lost!"

The man returned his attention towards Piccolo, silent for a few seconds. "Ha!" He gave a short chuckle. "With that pitiful power level of yours, where do you get in thinking you get to boss me around?"

Piccolo growled, making an angry smirk and clenched his fist. "A death wish, is that it?" He said.

The man rolled his eyes. "Please. You're not worth my effort, go back to whatever hole you came from." He turned around again.

"Keep talking, we'll see where this goes!" Piccolo shouted. "I'll wipe that smug attitude right off of you!"

The man laughed. "You have quite a temper, green man. I doubt you could ever lay a finger on me." His head took a slight turn behind him, allowing him to see Piccolo in the corner of his eyes.

"You wanna test that theory?" Piccolo provoked. He took a stance, bending his knees and elbows as his power rapidly flare.

The man had a surprised look as his device showed a rising number from the one behind him. The man turned around and watched as Piccolo powered up. "He can raise and lower his power at will?" He thought.

Piccolo lunged forward with his fist ready to launch as the man in front of him ducked with ease, his right foot slamming hard on Piccolo's gut, sending him through several rock formations. He watched as Piccolo's power level quickly dropped to one and his vitals show that he was unconscious.

The man gave a heavy sigh. "It appears I overestimated him, but at least this explains Kakarot's lack of extermination." He thought out loud. "I suppose he might've been killed by this one or the few over higher than average powers." Before finishing the job, The man's device again scanned a new power level, similar to this one. His face lit up. "This must be Kakarot's! Perhaps he is still alive after all!"

Arriving at Kame House in the afternoon, Goku hopped off of nimbus with his two boys by his side. He walked up to the door, the two following behind him.

"Knock! Knock!" Goku shouted as he knocked the door twice with the back of his right fist. The first one to open the door was Bulma.

She had a look of surprise on her face. "Goku!" Bulma said. "It's good to see you!" Not even a second after, Krillin, as well as, Master Roshi came to the door.

"Heeey! Long time no see, right buddy?" Krillin smiled.

Goku nodded. "Ya-huh, It's been quite awhile." He replied. "How have ya guys been?" His eyes darted behind them and glanced around the house. "And where's Yamcha?"

Bulma had an immediate look of anger at the mention of Yamcha, her face turned away. "Who cares where that jerk is!" She yelled. "He's probably off having fun with any girl in the city!"

Krillin got up close to Goku, placing his hand against his mouth. "Be careful with that button, Goku. It's kind of touchy right now." He whispered. Goku nodded in response.

As Bulma moved her head back, she noticed something…two somethings. "Wait a second…" She said. "Who're the kids?"

Krillin's eyes moved to Bulma, giving her a confused look but he quickly looked to where she was looking, and a confused expression formed on his face. "Are ya babysitting or somethi-.." He paused. His questioning look turned into a shock expression. "W-Wait a second…one of them looks almost identical to you!"

"Identical? But then that means…" Master Roshi added.

"Them? Yeup, they're my boys." Goku answered with a clueless smile. The other three were flabbergasted as they gasped in shock, causing Goku to give a confused look. "What's with the look?"

"I mean…how do you have two kids?!" Krillin asked. "It's only been, what? Five years? How did that happen so quickly?"

"How did it happen in the first place!" Bulma added.

Goku gave a clueless look and shrugged. He looked at both of his boys as he got down to their level. "Say hi, guys." Goten was the first to walk up, giving a respectful bow as he said hello, with Gohan following after, a bit shyly. As a response the others, although still somewhat shocked, returned the respectful bow back.

Bulma got down to the two kids' level. "So what do you guys wanna be when you grow up?" She asked.

"A scholar!" Gohan was the first to respond and cheerfully. Goten had a confused and slightly frozen look until Gohan whispered something into his ear.

"Oh! Yeah! Yeah! A Surgeon!" Goten added.

Bulma had to admit, she was surprised by the answers. "No Martial Arts?" Her gaze quickly looked up to Goku.

"Chichi barely lets me train, let alone train these two." Goku explained. "She says because there's been peace for so long, there's no reason for anyone to be training."

Krillin raised a brow. "No training? That seems like such a waste." He pointed out. "I mean sure they're young, but the basics should be good to start with."

Goku shrugged. "Well, I mean that's what she was saying, but she's been easing up a bit." He answered. "I was allowed to work on the basics with them but uh…it didn't quite go as I expected." While they continued to talk, Gohan and Goten went looking around the tiny island, exploring a bit.

"What do you mean?" Master Roshi asked.

Goku scratched the side of his head with his index finger, his gaze momentarily moving up as he recollected his thoughts. "When I went to train them, I didn't expect them to be so…" His hand moved to his chin, his index finger and thumb placed against it as he moved his gaze back down. "Delicate…if that makes any sense."

Master Roshi chuckled. "They probably just need some time." He said."How old are they?"

"They're both four." Goku answered.

Master Roshi moved his gaze to the two. "Yeah, give them time. They'll toughen up pretty quick." He pointed out. "The fact that they were already doing something is a good thing." He took a slight turn and motioned for Goku to come in. "Why don't you guys head in, Lunch is almost ready."

Goku's stomach growled at the thought and the now looming smell. "Alright! I'm starving!" He turned to his two sons and called for them. "Gohan! Goten! Let's go get some lunch!" Both of the boys quickly ran up to their father.

"There! That must be it!" The strange long-maned man's device again picked up a power level that wasn't far from where he floated. "A power of near 300? With higher than average power levels surrounding him? That must be him!" He continued to fly forward again but then stopped when something dawned on him. "Wait? That can't be right, Kakarot was ordered to destroy all life."

His gaze moved down for a second. "So why the hell are there two power levels almost as high as 150 there?" He took a second to think and consider the options. "Either he befriended naive fools or perhaps he's found actual trustworthy comrades?" He shrugged, brushing it off, thinking they'd be too weak until another thought formed. "I suppose we could use them for labor and menial tasks."

Again, he continued flying and bursted his speed rapidly, reaching the island within mere seconds. "It appears they've expected my landing. That's good, either some extremely sharp senses or the planet has better technology than I thought."

The group in front of him looked defensive with Gohan and Goten frightened as they hid behind their father. The man took a few steps forward, his eyes examining the group.

"If it isn't little Kakarot, look how you've grown." The man spoke. "You're the spitting image of our Father!" The group in front of him seemed confused on who he was referring to but the Man's eyes were clearly fixed on Goku. Goku took notice of this and thought how odd it was. "What happened? You were supposed to exterminate this planet, Kakarot, not befriend them!"

Krillin was the first to step up and question. "Okay…Mr. Looney, I dunno where you came from or who you are but why don't you go back to wherever you came from." He got closer and waved his hand at the stranger. "Go on. Shoo."

The stranger's eyes followed Krillin as he moved closer to wave. He gave an unamused look which quickly turned to an evil smirk as his tail unwrapped itself from his waist.

"Krillin! Look Out!" Goku shouted. It was too late, the man's tail swatted Krillin's cheek and sent Krillin crashing into the side of the Kame House. The group's shocked facial expressions moved to Krillin's position and Goku's face turned back to the man right after. "He-! Wh-What?!" He was shocked to see a tail attached to the man. "A T-Tail?!"

His jaw dropped. "You have a tail?! J-Just like I did?!"

A smirk formed on the stranger's face. "It is about time you've recognized me, Kakarot."

"W-What? Recognized you? What're you on…" Goku paused, trying to push his sons away. "Guys..Go inside, it's not safe.." His head turned back to the man in front of him. "I have no idea what you're going on about!"

Bulma grabbed both boys who cling to their father. "Guys, come on." She whispered.

The stranger's face looked irritated. "No idea? Are you serious, Kakarot?! You surely couldn't have forgotten your mission!" He yelled. "There is no way it's been too long for you to have forgotten!"

"My memory is fine and stop calling me that! My name is Goku!" Goku answered. The two boys shook themselves away from Bulma and ran behind Goku again. "Guys, Stay back!"

The stranger was flabbergasted. "Goku? What kind of abs-..." Raditz let a deep sigh escape him as he shook his head. "Did you perhaps suffer any concussive blows when you were young? Specifically to the head?"

Goku gave a confused expression. "What?"

The stranger gritted his teeth and growled. "Don't make me repeat myself! Did you or did you not hit your head? Yes or no!?" A gust of wind passed through shortly.

"Y-Yes." Goku stuttered. "I was really little though, I wouldn't remember a single thing about it! What does that have to even do with anything?"

The stranger regained his composure. "That explains it.." He muttered.

Goku raised a brow. "Explains it?" He asked. "Explains what?!"

Master Roshi took a few steps forward, turning to Goku. "Goku…"

"What?" Goku turned to face Roshi.

"There's something you should know.." Roshi answered. "Something your grandfather told me…" Roshi continued to explain a story, a story about a child from the stars. The child was found by a man in a strange object, a pod, and the man could tell that this child was a peculiar one.

"T-That child…It was me…wasn't it?" Goku asked. Roshi nodded in response.

"How does that explain Goku and this guy's connection though?" Bulma added. "How would that even be possible!"

Goku nodded and turned. "I agree." He said. "It's about time you start explaining yourself!"

The stranger seemed amused, giving a short chuckle. "Fine, I'll humor you." He replied. "I'll start from the top, you, Kakarot, were born to a Planet, distant from these stars, this solar system. Born on another world known as Planet Vegeta to a Warrior Race called the Saiyans!" He pointed to himself. "As for me.."

"I am your brother, Raditz." He explained. "I was sent to pick you up twenty years after you were dispatched to this planet. I admit I have…" He paused his eyes trailing elsewhere. "Lost track of time a bit…"

As Krillin had finished recovering, he stood up and pointed at Raditz. "This has to be some kind of joke!" He shouted. "If Goku is an alien then what is he even doing on Earth!"

Raditz gave a mixture of a sigh and growl. "Did you not hear me? He was sent here! It's not hard to understand." He answered. "His mission was to eradicate the inhabitants of this world." The group in front of Raditz was shocked, their eyes wide and jaws slack. "Saiyans are a proud warrior race but other than that we are also businessmen."

He cracked his knuckles and continued. "We scour the universe for planets with any form of value, wipe them of their inhabitants excluding those who may provide usefulness and sell the planet." He explained. "For planets that have a higher than average reading, the adults are sent to clean it, but for planets like this one, that are pathetic and weak, we send the infants."

His gaze moved to the sky as he crossed his arms. "Especially with a moon at that size." Raditz shook his head with disappointment then moved his gaze back to Goku. "At first I thought you had found possible helpers but now I realize you haven't done your job at all!"

Goku raised a brow. "The moon?" He asked. "What does that have to do with anything?"

Raditz looked annoyed. "Don't play dumb with me, Kakarot!" He yelled. "The moon is key to a Saiyan's true potent-" His eyes widened on the realization of Goku's missing tail. "W-What!? Your Tail! Where is it?!"

"My tail? What?" Goku was further confused.

"What happened to it!" Raditz yelled.

"That? It was a cut a long time ago!" Goku answered. "Why does it matter?"

Raditz clenched his fist angrily. "You fool!" He said. "You realize what you've done?! No wonder you could fit in so well with these miserable lowlives!"

Goku gritted his teeth. "Enough!" He yelled. "It doesn't matter what you say! True or not! My name is Goku!" He took a stance. "And you're not welcome here!"

"That's right, whatever his past is, is irrelevant." Krillin added. "He's one of us now and if you got a problem with it, you can go along and shoo!"

Raditz gave an exasperated sigh. "It's gonna take a lot more than that to make me leave." He spoke up, he walked off to the side a few feet, as his eyes examined the group then the two young ones. "You see, as powerful as we Saiyans are, we've never been strong in number."

He turned around to completely face them once again. "And even worse, not long ago, our planet was wiped by a giant meteor. Now only a few of us remain…" He said. "Counting you, that makes four of us. At least that I know of, I and two others were sent away from the planet during its destruction."

Raditz's eyes moved to the two young boys again. "And your two kids, I suppose they could count as one.." He said. Goku became more defensive around the boys instinctively. "Recently, we've found a planet that could catch us a hefty profit, the problem is despite the three of us, it could still prove to be a bit of a problem."

Raditz noticed in the corner of his eye, an aerodynamic machine which he walked to take a look at. "That's where you come in, little brother." He turned to Goku again, getting closer. "Even a power as low as yours could give us the edge we need to make a difference. Worst case scenario we could boost you with a few missions."

"Back off!" Goku said, taking a few steps back.

"Kakarot, don't you see?! You were born for this!" Raditz replied. "Join us!"

"Forget it!" Goku snarled. "I'd rather die before I'd help murder a world full of people!"

Raditz raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?" He gave a wide smirk. 'I've been wondering…" His gaze moved to the two boys behind Goku. "The children…their yours? Aren't they?" Goku froze a bit, causing Raditz's smirk to widen. "That's what I thought."

"N-No. They're not, they're not mine at all." Goku replied.

Raditz laughed heavily. "Ahaha! Really? You're gonna try and fool me?!" He shouted. "One of them is completely identical to you and our father! And you're saying they aren't yours?! Nice try!" His eyes moved to their tails. "Besides I see their tails, Kakarot! I'm not blind!"

"Fine, what if they are?" Goku asked.

Raditz sighed and shook his head. "Kakarot, Kakarot, Kakarot. I've tried reasoning with you and it appears it's not an option. I suppose I'll just have to take your children with me instead then!" He took a couple steps forward.

"Take another step! See what happens!" Goku snarled, a burst of his energy released at the same time. Raditz gave a surprised look, a smirk formed on his face. Raditz attempted to take another step but Goku threw his fist. Raditz blocked it with his right arm, then grabbed Goku's arm with his left hand, throwing Goku into the air.

Before Goku had landed, Raditz suddenly appeared above Goku, thrusting his knee harshly into Goku's lower ribcage, forcing instantly into the ground. This caused both of Goku's sons to become extremely worried, breaking free from the two who were holding them back.

"D-Daddy!" Goten cried, Gohan followed along with his brother.

"Boys!" Bulma shouted, but she was ignored.

Both children ran to their father but were stopped by Raditz before they could reach him. The man, so called "Uncle" had a wide grin as he watched them cower. Goten instinctively stood in front of Gohan, trying to show a flick of bravado but was as scared as his brother behind him.

"Not so fast." Raditz said, grabbing both of their tails. This caused both halfbreeds to fall rapidly unconscious. He turned to face Goku. "You want your boys back, I want to see 100 dead bodies piled up in front of me, do that and I'll return them safely. Since your family, I'll give you twenty-four hours to consider the offer."

Goku tried to lift himself up but his chest grew tight and caused him to flinch and groan in pain. "D-Darn you!"

Raditz began to float up and backwards. "For your children's sake, I'd hope you decide to do as you're told." He said. "And If I don't see the gesture of allegiance…well let's hope that doesn't happen." A smirk formed on his face as he took off and let loose a wicked laugh.

When Raditz had left, Goku attempted and struggled to get up to no avail. In desperation, he teamed up with Piccolo who happened to be nearby and the two formed an unlikely alliance to stop Raditz. They rushed to Raditz's location, who had hoped Goku would comply but in a not so surprising manner, Goku challenged him with the addition of the Demon King's Son on his side.

The two fighters, Piccolo Jr., and Goku fought Raditz, giving what they could but Raditz proved to be far stronger than they had hoped. Piccolo revealed a new and powerful technique but thanks to Goku's naivety, the shot was misfired, having only damaged the tip of his shoulder pad.

Raditz was able to gain momentum and take Goku down, slowly crushing his ribcage which caused him to scream in agony.

"You see what happens when you challenge your superior!?" Raditz yelled. His foot pressed onto Goku's chest causing him to scream again as it slowly increased pressure. Suddenly, he stopped, his face whipping to the side as his device read a different power, a high power. "W-What's this?! A powerlevel of thirteen hundred?! That can't be right!"

Before he knew it, he could see Gohan angrily staring at him, the boy having escaped the pod somehow. Raditz's eyes went wide as Gohan charged after him in a ball of energy.

"DON'T HURT MY DADDY!" Gohan screamed. He lunged into Raditz's right upper rib cage, causing Raditz's armor to crack and the shockwave sending through his body caused a few ribs to fracture. Raditz was sent several hundred feet away, crashing harshly into the ground.

As for Goten, he was still struggling to climb out of the ditch, fearful and yet…curious. After a few more seconds, he managed to reach the ledge and pull himself up, quickly glancing the area before he saw his father.

"Daddy!" Goten shouted as he ran quickly to his Dad's side. Gohan followed along a split second afterwards.

Goku flinched. "Ac- You boys need t-to leave! Now!" He said.

Gohan's jaw slacked. "W-What?! No, we can't leave you!"

"Yeah!" Goten added.

"G-Go! It's not safe!" Goku yelled.

Raditz stood back up a few seconds later, profusely furious, his fists clenched and gritting his teeth. "You..little…brat!" He yelled, stomping towards the two kids. Gohan and Goten began to shiver and quickly became overwhelmed with a sense of fright. "That is it! Neither of you are worth it! None of you are! I'M KILLING YOU ALL!"

He lifted his right hand up in the air and gathered dark purple energy. "Prepare to di-!" He paused, again his head whipping in the direction of another high reading. "W-What?! Thirteen O Eight?!" He made an angry smirk. "You damn bastard!"

Before Raditz knew it, Goku had him in a full nelson, giving a short chuckle. "I've got you now and if you think I'm letting you go this time, don't count on it!" He shouted. "Piccolo! DO IT! NOOOOOOOW!"

Raditz still attempted to aim his blast at Piccolo but before he could, Piccolo unleashed his attack and the beam, having gone so fast, Raditz only had enough time to move back and to the side about a hundred yards away. However, the blast pierced Goku through his chest and continued to follow Raditz.

"NO!" Piccolo yelled. He closed his fist and threw it down, causing the blast which had passed Raditz a split second again, to erupt and violently explode. Raditz was caught in the explosion and the intensity of the blast caused extreme burns on Raditz, fried a great amount of his nerves, and caused his armor to be torn to pieces.

As the blast settled and the smoke rose, Piccolo had hoped to himself that it was over. His energy having absolutely nothing left to give, but it was quickly determined once the smoke settled, that Raditz was alive.

"D-DAMN IT ALL! HOW CAN THESE WORMS DAMAGE ME?!" Raditz wondered. He could barely pull himself to his knees, his breathing became heavy and jumpsuit was also tattered. "I don't have much energy left but I still have enough to kill them." His gaze moved to Piccolo. "He's definitely done for, my scouter says he's at five." His gaze moved to Goku and his sons. "Kakarot seems to have more energy left in him but nothing to worry, and his boys will be easy."

Raditz smirked as he thought he had it in the bag but then his scouter picked up another power and quickly three more after. "What?! One hundred and seventy seven?! Two hundred and six?! Two hundred and fifty?!" He clenched his fist angrily and cursed under his breath. "No, I'm too weak to handle that much more. I need to retreat…but.." His eyes moved to Gohan. "I refuse to go empty handed!"

Raditz darted quickly to Gohan, sweeping him by the back of his clothes, knocking Goten out of the way to avert any possible trouble he could cause and giving others barely any time to react as he jumped towards his pod.

"DAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDYYYY!" Gohan screamed. As Raditz aimed for the crater, he fired a blast to the ground causing massive amounts of smoke. Raditz slipped into his pod, a bit roughly with the struggling Gohan. The hatch to the pod closed and a strange mist erupted into the pod as it blasted off.

"N-No! Gohan!" Goku shouted. "GOHAAAAAAAA-!" A puddle of blood erupted from his mouth.

As the pod went high into the sky, it stopped, and at the same time, the others arrived. "I'LL BE BACK! IN A YEAR'S TIME, AND I'LL BE BACK FOR REVENGE!" Raditz yelled, his voice echoed for miles. "Everything that has happened here today has been transmitted to my partners, even those Dragon Balls you spoke of earlier! My partners are ten times stronger than I, so if you think you're getting off scot free, you're wrong!"

Raditz re-entered his pod and it continued to blast off. A few minutes later, the others were caught up and said their goodbyes to Goku. Shortly after Goku took his last breath, his body disappeared and to the shock of the others, this was briefly explained by Piccolo that it was most likely Kami's doing.

Then, Piccolo did something odd which confused the others and took them by surprise.. He took Goten. They all had defensive looks and glares at him, to which Piccolo raised a brow.

"What? You wanna come and fight me?" He asked.

"What're you doing with him?" Krillin answered. "I don't know what you think you're doing but killing Goten isn't going to be an option here."

Piccolo scoffed. "Unlike you I'm not a complete imbecile, I have more important matters to attend to." He replied, glancing to Goten then moving his gaze back to Krillin. "And ideas to execute.."

"Okay, so maybe you're not killing him but regardless, you're not taking him with you for whatever reason." Krillin said, taking a stance. "And if you think we'll sit idly by while you take him then you're wrong."

"You might be strong Piccolo but in your current condition, all three of us could easily take you on." Tien added.

Piccolo cracked his knuckles. "You wanna test that theory?" He asked. "I'm taking the runt with me whether you like it or not, and I will see if he has any potential like his brother. If not? Well you better hope he survives."

"I'll test that theory gladly!" Yamcha smirked confidently. "Goku might've been willing to make an alliance with you but I know better than to tango with a demon."

Piccolo rolled his eyes and tossed Goten aside as he cracked his knuckles and neck. "Fine. If that's the way it shall be." He took a stance and clenched his fists. The others, at the same time took a stance, and the fighters stared down each other.

"Wait." Roshi spoke up, arriving on scene. Tien, Yamcha, and Krillin turned their attention to Roshi. "Let Piccolo go."

The three looked shocked and agape. "What?! Master Roshi?! You can't be serious!" Krillin said. "This is Goku's son we're talking about! His only son that's still on Earth!"

"Have you lost it?!" Yamcha added.

Roshi's gaze fixed on Piccolo as he collected his thoughts. "You might be able to stop Piccolo now but he'll come back." He pointed out. Piccolo formed a smirk on his face in response. "Even he's already thought of it. He'd come back and take Goten anyway, even if he had to wait another day to fight."

The three fighters' jaws dropped and became stunned, not one of them had even considered that possibility. They were quick to move their attention towards Piccolo and see his response to what Roshi had said.

"I suppose I should give you more credit. You're sharper than you look, old man." Piccolo replied.

Krillin turned back to face Roshi. "B-But still…to let him take Goten?"

"Think about it for a minute, Krillin. What would you even do once you have him?" Roshi asked. "Return him to his Mother? Then for her to find out that her other son is gone and her husband is dead? You certainly couldn't train him yourselves either."

"So we leave Goten in Piccolo's care? That sounds insane!" Yamcha pointed out.

Roshi shrugged. "Perhaps. What choice do we have?" He answered. The others had no response to it and sighed in defeat. "I think Goten will be fine and if not, we'll just have to be sure to bring Piccolo to hell." His eyes glaring at Piccolo.

"Alright.." Krillin sighed, turning to face Piccolo. "But we have our eyes on you."

Piccolo rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Please like I need any of your approval." He answered. "I was just ensuring I didn't have to waste my breath on the likes of you." He walked over to Goten and picked him up before taking off.

"Now what?" Tien asked.

Master Roshi took a few steps forward in front of the three as he watched Piccolo disappear from sights. "What we always do in the face of a stronger enemy. Surpass them." He answered. "And if I didn't know any better, I wouldn't be surprised if Kami is expecting all of your arrival, Chiaotzu's too."

"K-Kami?" Krillin stuttered. "You mean the one that trained Goku before the last tournament!?"

Master Roshi nodded. "Yeup. I'd suggest you all be best heading over to Korin's tower. It'd save Kami the trouble of coming and getting you all by himself."

To be continued…
