Update: I almost forgot to add the disclaimer. I do not own any characters from Epic Battle Fantasy or Genshin Impact. Nor do I own the games themselves.

It was a desolate battlefield. Other than large black scorch marks covering the blackened land, only bones and red markings were all that indicated that this place did once hold life. Just then a person with long blonde hair and locks tumbled down one of the hills and landed on his back. "Ow! Well that definitely hurt."

The blonde haired man got up and picked up his signature gold and red blade and placed it on his back while he adjusted the pirate cap on his head. "Better get my hp bar back up before I charge back into battle." After chomping down a watermelon slice, the warrior got back out his sword and ran back into the arena. "I wonder how the others are doing."

Back on the battlefield, a red mage was doing her best to hold off a large skeletal dragon while healing her other two allies. One of them was a green haired archer who was clearly having trouble with the dragon. The other was a red haired man dressed in the attire of a German officer who wasn't doing anything.

"Lance! Can you stop standing there and do something?" asked the mage.

"Well what do you want me to do? We're running out of food and the last time you guys had me fight it, I ended up healing it instead of harming it," responded the German soldier. "I'm also out of Mana points so don't ask me to bring in some Med packs."

"Then change your equipment! Natz can't be the only one fighting the dragon you know," retorted the green haired archer.

"You're one to talk. Your attacks are doing no damage so you should change your stuff out too!" said Lance.

"Anna! Lance! Stop bickering and help me," yelled Natz. "If this thing is powerful to take out Matt, then it-"

Suddenly, a large white sword made of light came crashing down on the skeletal dragon followed by a series of stabs and cuts. Within seconds, the dragon was dead and its body disappeared. In its place, was none other than the blonde pirate warrior that had just returned.

After the dragon was slain, the pirate heard a small but distinct noise that signaled him that he had just unlocked a new medal.

"Everyone alright?" asked the pirate.

"Matt!" exclaimed the entire team.

"How did you survive that attack? We thought that No Legs would have to drag you to us to be revived," asked Natz.

"Oh I was equipped with this little thing." The blonde pirate pulled out a silver cross shaped item that he had been carrying around since they fought the dragon. "It gives me a 50% chance to survive instant death. In other words, any instant death attacks only have a 50/50 chance to take me down."

"Oh. The silver cross flair. We should have equipped things like that so one of us wouldn't make us use so much coffee," said Anna.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" asked Lance.

"Anyways," started Matt. "Since we're in a safe spot right now, Imma head out."

With a flash, the pirate was gone and the rest of the team was left stranded in the middle of what appeared to be a dark graveyard.

"Since when was a graveyard this big considered a safe spot?" yelled the team.

Back in the real world, a teenage boy no older than seventeen reappeared in a carless garage. Much like his in game counterpart, he also had blonde hair but it was much shorter and didn't have any locks. He was also wearing a pair of glasses that were as thick as a thumb drive.

Smiling as he closed his laptop, he unplugged the device from a retro looking console that was used to transport him between the gaming world to the real life one. While his allies did not find the area to be safe since the foes they encountered will respawn, his allies will not be bothered until he went back in there and chose to confront them.

"Matt!"

Matt turned around to see his younger brother standing at the doorway.

"Yeah what bro?" asked the teen.

"Mom and dad are almost back from visiting grandma. We better hurry and clean everything up," informed the young boy.

"Okay. I'll be there in a moment," replied Matt. "In the meantime, do your best to hide your games."

He quickly saved his game and closed his laptop before rushing outside the garage and putting his laptop back in the proper location his parents left it.

After that, he hurried to his brother and helped him put his own devices away. Namely another laptop and a tablet that were used to run two of his brother's most favorite games: Genshin Impact and FGO.

"Okay, so where was the laptop supposed to be?" asked Matt.

"On the table and the tablet is supposed to be in Dad's-" said Matt's bro.

"Okay. I got it. I'll take care of the tablet, you deal with the laptop."

A few moments later, Matt's parents walked in and saw that both teens were studying while the electronic devices were all in their proper places.

Matt pretended to work on his book while watching his parents put away their things before resuming their activities. Both he and his brother were not allowed to play any video games or use the electronic devices unless it was for schoolwork after his parents learned that both of their grades were dropping. As a result, the only time they could really enjoy themselves was when their parents were not home.

The school year was about to end in nearly two months and he had exams coming.

Just then, Matt overheard his mom yelling and his dad sighing."Looks like I'm gonna have to hold off on my games until the end of this month when the exams are all done," commented Matt as he saw his mom head outside with a few books.

One week later…

Natz, Anna, and Lance were all playing a card game while waiting for their teammate to return. As much as Anna wanted to go on without him, Natz and Lance insisted that they wait for him to return. Besides, he also took their only source of light with him once he left so they couldn't really do anything except stay in place.

"Got any 3's?" asked Lance.

"Go fish," replied Anna.

Just then, their pirate attire partner appeared and landed on a pile of empty soda cans and milk cartons.

"Not the landing I was expecting but whatever," said Matt as he got up and picked up his sword. "Ready guys?"

"Of course, anything to get out of this creepy place," answered Natz.

Matt pulled out the candle and began checking a map while the rest of the team packed up their card game and got ready to leave.

"So what happened while I was gone?" asked Matt.

"We just played a couple rounds of Go Fish," answered Natz. "I wanted to play Monopoly but after what happened last time, we decided to play Go Fish."

"In short, you didn't miss anything bud," replied Lance.

"Okay, but where'd you guys get the cards?" asked Matt. "None of the shops I've been to sell those."

The team remained silent until Matt put down his map. "You guys took it from me didn't ya?"

"Well," started Anna. "You did leave them behind when you left and since we had nothing better to do, we just brought them out."

"Can you guys cut the chit-chat and find a way out of here?" asked Natz. "I don't want to end up like that girl at the entrance."

"Alright then, let's go."

Matt led the rest of the team out of the graveyard and touched a slime cat. Moments later, Matt and his teammates were at a place which they knew as the Temple of Godcat. He was going to get the last medal he needed to complete this game which was to beat Godcat on Epic difficulty.

Unlike the rest of the team, he wasn't scared one bit and knew that he was eventually going to win. Before heading into battle though, he removed his signature pirate hat and picked up a new sword.

"Umm Matt, why are you changing your equipment?" asked Natz.

"Well," responded Matt. "Since we do know all of Godcat's strengths and weaknesses, including her abilities, we might as well reequip ourselves to match up with her before we begin the battle."

"I get it, so we don't have to spend the first few turns changing equipment, right?" asked Anna.

"Right. Also Lance, can you do a supply count? We need to know how much we have of everything so we can fight accordingly," responded Matt as he adjusted the Angel Pin to his body.

The black uniform soldier begrudgingly carried out his task before changing into some gear that would allow the battle to be in their favor.

"Okay Matt, so we only have 12 coffees, 30 melons, 8 pizzas, 12 hamburgers, 10 sundaes, 40 ice creams, 5 cupcakes, 8 drumsticks, and only 3 of each drink," responded Lance. "We also don't have any throwables."

Matt paused for a moment before he put away his sword. "Let's go to the food store. We'll definitely need to get more food before we fight."
