In a Superhuman Society

A world with quirks means its people are going to be rather quirky. Whether heroes, villains, or somewhere in-between, every BnHA character deserves to have their story told. These are but tiny 100-word snippets of their lives, told one a day, every day, in 2023. Newest chapter: Dadan Tadan is a bit of a shrinking violet, but he's a hero student for a reason.

1. Nezu

A.N. — Welcome to my newest drabble collection! I will be doing a 100 word drabble a day, each focused on a different character in the BnHA universe. I've got a list of 387 characters to work with, and I will be posting them based on character birthdays (and using the days with no canon birthdays to write for characters who don't have a listed DOB or as spillover from days where multiple birthdays occur). That means Nezu is up first!

Unlike my Harry Potter collection (which I am posting on AO3 concurrently with this story), I am not as familiar with this fandom. I have watched the anime, seen the first two movies, read a few volumes of the manga, plus read a ton of fanfiction. For these drabbles, my info will come from the anime/movies first, then the manga and the Ultra Analysis book, and finally supplemented with the wiki. For Vigilantes characters, for example, I'll have to lean on that last one more.

For this first week, the open dates with no canon birthdays are Jan. 3rd, 5th, and 6th. So, if there's someone you want to see highlighted early on in this story, let me know via comment. I'm not planning on many of these being connected to each other, so I'm not picky on the order I tackle these characters in. Getting a prompt will more than likely motivate me to write more, actually.

Alternate title: A Survey of Superhuman Society. Do y'all like the current one, or this instead? Also, I promise this is the only note that will be way longer than the actual drabble.

1. Nezu

UA was Nezu's lair. Its outsized doors and endless halls lent the school a maze-like quality, and the principal enjoyed nothing more than making others scurry through it.

From his office, Nezu asserted control over his subjects, whether through opening doors as people approached, or sending PA announcements to keep up his mystique. Nezu was a quirked animal; humans would never be totally comfortable in his presence. But Nezu now got to dictate how he wanted that uneasiness to manifest.

He would always hold a grudge, but Nezu would also always protect those at UA. His territory was sacrosanct.
