Author's Note: So, hello again, Sleeping Beauty fans!
While working on an Enchanted fan fic, That's How We Know, retro mania asked me to do a Sleeping Beauty/Enchanted crossover. And I agreed. Basically, this story follows Princess Aurora getting banished from her animated world by Maleficent and ending up in a live action world in the United States. I'll do my best to incorporate Giselle's mannerisms into Aurora, plus some references to Enchanted and other Disney films.
This happens to be my second Sleeping Beauty crossover, as well my second Enchanted crossover.
Anyways, read on and enjoy! Don't forget to favorite, follow and review. Please be kind, no flames please.
Sleeping Beauty and Enchanted belong to Disney. Retro mania and I don't own anything except for OCs.
Chapter 1
Once upon a time, in a faraway land known as Auradon, there lived a king and his fair queen. For years, they wanted a child, at last their wish came true. A daughter was born onto them and they named her Aurora. She was named after the dawn, for she filled their lives with sunshine.
On this day, a sixteenth birthday celebration is taking place. Proclaimed throughout the kingdom, all of high or low estate were invited to celebrate the princess. Also, it would be announced on this very day that Aurora would be betrothed to Prince Philip, son and heir of King Hubert. And so, our story begins on this joyful occasion.
At dawn, two bluebirds pull back the curtains. Inside the bedroom is Princess Aurora, sleeping peacefully in the bed. Her waist-length, golden-like-the-sunshine hair spread out in a disarray across the pillow.
The birds, Ellen and Lenny, flew over to Aurora's bed and perched themselves at the end of the bed frame.
"Aurora, time to wake up!" They chirped.
"Mm," Aurora mutters, turning over while holding her pillow.
Lenny and Ellen fly over to the slumbering princess. Ellen chirps in her ear, while Lenny pulls back Aurora's hair.
"Princess Aurora, time to get out of bed!"
Aurora yawns, eyes still closed and turns over, putting her pillow on top of the head.
"She won't wake up." Lenny said.
"Let me try," Ellen suggests. "Aurora…wake up. Wake up, wake up!" When Ellen got under Aurora's pillow, Aurora playfully pulls her pillow down, giggling to herself and Ellen flies out.
Lenny flies over and tries again one more time. Unbeknownst to him, Aurora trailed her fingers up and flicked the little bird from behind.
Startled, Lenny leapt, flying. Ellen couldn't help but be amused, at her friend's expense. Lenny chirps angrily as Aurora laughs, sitting up and awake.
"Well, serves you right spoiling people's best dreams." She pointed out.
"But it's a lovely morning," Lenny and Ellen chirped, flying to the open window and gesturing to the sky.
"Yes, I know it's a lovely morning," said Aurora. "But it was a lovely dream, too."
She sighs, sitting back on her pillow, while finger combing her messy, bed hair.
"What happened in the dream?" Lenny and Ellen chirped in unison.
"I met someone," Aurora responds.
"Who? Who?" The birds asked.
"Oh…a prince," said Aurora.
"What's he like?" Ellen inquired.
"Well, he's tall and handsome and…and so romantic;" A dreamy smile appears on Aurora's face.
"So, what did you do with him?" Lenny asks.
"Oh we walked together and talked together," Aurora answers. "And just before we say goodbye, he takes me in his arms, and then…"
Ellen and Lenny chirp with anticipation, eager to hear what happens next.
"That's when I wake up," Aurora finished.
The birds chirp, feeling deflated. "We're sorry," They said.
"Yes, it's only in my dreams." Aurora said. "But they say if you dream a thing more than once, it's sure to come true." She adds.
"And I've seen him so many times,"
"I know you," The young princess began to sing.
"I walked with you once upon a dream;
I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
Yet, I know it's true
That visions are seldom all they seem,
But if I know you
I know what you'll do,
You'll love me at once
The way you did once upon a dream."
Suddenly, there's a knock at the door; interrupting this moment.
"Princess Aurora?" Lance, the under butler called.
"Yeah?" Aurora asks.
"Sorry to wake you," said Lance.
"No, no, no, no, you didn't." Aurora assured. "I've been up for a while."
"Time to get ready,"
"Of course," said the blonde. "Um, ready for what?"
"For your 16th birthday celebration." Lance informed.
"My birthday celebration." Aurora repeated.
She sits in bed for a moment in a daze, until she sees the pink dress made by one of her godmothers, Flora, on the dress form. That's when it hit her.
"My 16th birthday celebration!" Aurora exclaimed, excited and happy.
She gets out of bed immediately.
"Happy birthday!" Ellen and Lenny chirp.
"Thank you," said Aurora. "I had completely forgotten about it."
"Oh, I got to get ready!"
She rushes to the window and calls for the rest of her animal friends, with her vocal prowess.
As if on cue, the critters respond vocally, coming to assist her.
And so, Aurora and the animals go into getting ready mode. Humming, Aurora spins around and spreads up her bed. The birds fold the blanket back a bit and plump up the pillow.
Aurora gets behind a dressing screen and starts to undress. Meanwhile, the mice pour water into a bowl, as the birds drop a sponge. The sponge absorbs the water, and the birds pick it up. Bringing it over to Aurora, they wring out the sponge and water all over Aurora's body, her taking a sponge off.
Both Ellen and Lenny take Aurora's dress off the dress form and place it in the chair.
The mice take the time to dust off the gown and matching pink shoes with feathers.
Finally, Aurora gets dressed and slipped her dainty feet into the shoes.
Sitting down, Aurora combs her hair as she looked at her mirror reflection. Then, she puts on a gold, triangular-shaped necklace.
Ellen and Lenny place a gold crown on Aurora's head.
"Oh, thank you." Aurora said.
"You're welcome, Aurora." Ellen and Lenny replied.
"Well, I better get going." Aurora gets up. "Everyone is probably waiting for me. Thank you for all your help. Goodbye!"
"Goodbye!" The animals called in unison.
Aurora leaves the room. She starts to make her way downstairs.
As she heads down; suddenly, the hallway grew dark. The silhouette of Maleficent appears and she makes a ball of green light appear, which glows brighter. A soft, mysterious voice calls out to the sixteen year old.
"Aurora," The voice whispered. "Aurora,"
Aurora stops in her tracks. She listens carefully.
"Aurora,"
Aurora turns around. Curious and hypnotized, Aurora follows the sound; going upstairs and heading for the tower.
"Aurora, Aurora,"
Meanwhile, in another room, the Three Good Fairies; Flora, Fauna and Merryweather were talking about today's festivities.
"Today is the big day!" Flora remarked.
"I can't believe it's finally here," said Fauna.
"It seems like yesterday, Aurora was just a tiny baby. Now, she's a full-grown teenager." Merryweather commented.
"I'm going to miss all the times we spent with her." Fauna said wistfully.
"Why don't we go meet up with Aurora and bring her down for the party?" Flora suggested. "We can catch up."
Merryweather and Fauna agrees.
Meanwhile, Aurora continues to follow the voice and light up the stairs; towards the tower.
Out in the hallway, the trio searched for Aurora, but she is nowhere to be found.
"Rose, where are you?" They called out. "Rose?"
There's no answer. At this moment, Aurora is at the top of the stairs.
"Rose, Rose!" The fairies shouted.
"Where could she be?" Flora asked, starting to grow worried.
Suddenly, Merryweather catches a glimpse of the green light.
"Quickly, follow the light!" Merryweather declared. She, Fauna, and Flora go up the stairs.
At last, Aurora makes it to the top. She walks into a room.
"Rose, we're coming!"
The ball of light becomes a mirror. Aurora steps forward, her curiosity increasing.
"Rose!" Fauna shouts.
"Whatever you do, don't touch a thing!" Flora commanded.
Flora's voice echoes, causing Aurora to back away a bit.
"Come closer, child. Come closer, I say!" Maleficent snapped.
Aurora obeys. As she stepped forward and looked at her reflection, leaning in…Maleficent shoves Aurora, causing Aurora to fall through the mirror, screaming, her trance broken.
The fairies arrived just in time to witness the incident, however, they were too late in saving Aurora.
All three fairies gasped.
"You're too late, you poor, simple fools." Maleficent sneered, as she stood before them.
"What have you done with Aurora?!" Merryweather demanded angrily. "Where did you send her?"
"To a place where there are no 'happily ever afters'!" Maleficent responds darkly. She let out a sinister laugh and vanished.
