CHAPTER ONE: A BLOODY ENCOUNTER

Two years before the Tenrou team returned, X788...

An orange-colored Exceed was currently flying in Margaret Town. The Exceed was also wearing a purple-colored dress and had aqua blue eyes.

She had heard from a civilian that there was a guild in town: Lamia Scale. She had also known that a Sky God Slayer was a member there.

If they were a Sky God Slayer, then that means they had healing magic. The Exceed could only hope they would be willing to help her best friend.

She arrived at a modern building with Lamia Scale's guild emblem placed above. She knew she was at the right place as she knocked on the door frantically.

The door opened, revealing Lyon and Jura, who were shocked upon seeing the Exceed, who was nearly in tears.

"You have to help me!" She exclaimed. "It's my partner, he's been hurt really bad and needs medical attention!"

Lyon and Jura looked at one another before nodding. "Take us to where he is." Jura ordered.

The Exceed nodded as she guided the two mages to where her partner was. Lyon and Jura followed her until they reached the outskirts of Margaret Town. When they arrived, Lyon was shocked to see the whole forest had been covered in ice, and a male laid unresponsive as the Exceed rushed up to him.

"Mila..." The male muttered weakly.

"Don't worry, Shun! I got help from a nearby guild. You're going to be okay!" Mila reassured.

"He's bleeding..." Lyon breathed out, noticing the large amount of blood that was surrounding Shun.

Mila turned towards the two. "He was in a battle with some dark guild members when one of them stabbed him with a dagger that was coated in poison." She explained. "I didn't want to move him so I quickly went to the nearest town to get help."

Shun groaned before he finally passed out due to the pain.

"We need to get him to Sherria, immediately." Jura informed as Lyon agreed before he turned towards Mila.

"Is it alright with you if I carry him?" Lyon asked, making Mila nod.

"Yes, please! I'm afraid I'll hurt him more if I carry him." She replied, grateful that Lyon had asked her before doing so. She was very overprotective of her best friend.

Lyon gently picked Shun up and carried him bridal style before him, Jura, and Mila headed back towards the Lamia Scale guild.

"Sherria, we have an emergency!" Lyon announced, getting the Sky God Slayer's attention. Sherria's eyes widened upon seeing a bleeding Shun in Lyon's arms.

"Take him to the infirmary room. I'll heal him right away!" Sherria said.

Lyon sets the male down on the bed as Sherria hovered her hands over Shun, a pale light soon appeared as she began healing him.

He leaves Shun with Sherria, deciding it would be best to leave her alone so she could concentrate. Outside, Jura and Yuka were trying to reassure the Exceed.

"Your friend will be fine. Sherria has powerful healing magic." Yuka was saying.

"Mila, was it?" Lyon spoke as Mila looked up and nodded. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Go ahead."

"Giving that the forest was covered in ice, I can only assume your partner is an ice wizard, correct?" Lyon asked.

Mila nodded. "Yes. He's an Ice-Make wizard." She responded, causing Lyon, Jura, and Yuka to widen their eyes.

"Another wizard who uses Ice-Make magic... I thought it was just Gray and I." Lyon thought.

Mila then hummed. "Well, actually, Ice-Make magic isn't his main magic." She then added, confusing the others.

"What's his main magic then?" Yuka asked.

The Exceed smiled. "Not my place to say. If he trusts you enough, he'll tell you. But given the fact that you saved him from death, he'll trust you." She answered.

Soon, Sherria walked out of the infirmary. "All of the poison has been removed from his body and the wound is sealed. He'll be okay." She announced, making Mila sigh in relief.

Shun groaned as he opened his eyes and sat up. Looking around, he realized he was in an infirmary, and his stomach was no longer bleeding.

"Shun!"

Mila suddenly flew into his chest, sobbing as Shun embraced his partner. "I'm fine, Mila." He reassured her.

He then noticed Lyon, Jura, Yuka, and Sherria. He immediately got into a defensive mode as his hand was covered in ice, a light blue Magic Circle with a snowflake in the center soon appeared.

"Wait, Shun! These were the people who helped you! Their Sky God Slayer healed you!" Mila informed.

"Healed?" Shun questioned, the Magic Circle soon disappearing as he turned to the Exceed. "Mila, where are we exactly?"

"We're uh... in the Lamia Scale guild located in Margaret Town."

"What!" Shun exclaimed. "Mila, you know how I feel about guilds!"

"I'm sorry! I couldn't let you die and they were the closest guild!"

"Now they're going to expect us to repay them! You know this is why I avoided guilds at all costs, Mila!"

"No need to repay us. We were happy to help." Jura said, causing Shun to flinch as if he realized him and Mila still had company.

"You're an Ice-Make mage like Lyon, yes?" Yuka then asked, causing Shun to raise an eyebrow and look towards the white-haired male.

Lyon felt his heart rate accelerate when Shun locked eyes with him before broke their eye contact, turning back to Yuka. "Yes, I can use Ice-Make magic. Though, it's not my main magic." He replied.

"Mila-dono mentioned that. May we ask what's your main magic?" Jura questioned.

"Why not? You saved me so I might as well tell you. I'm an Ice Dragon Slayer."

This news brought shock to Lyon, Jura, Yuka, and Sherria. "Though I suppose not using my Dragon Slayer magic is what caused me to get stabbed in the first place." Shun mumbled.

"How did you end up in that predicament?" Sherria asked.

"Mila and I are traveling wizards. I was searching for my twin brother and eventually caught word that he was a member of Fairy Tail. I was heading towards Magnolia when some dark mages attacked me." Shun answered.

"We were once close allies with Fairy Tail. Who's your brother?" Jura asked.

"Gray Fullbuster."

Lyon widened his eyes in shock. "Gray?!" He exclaimed.

"You know him?" Shun raised an eyebrow.

"We studied under the same master." Lyon responded before looking at his guild mates worriedly. "How are we supposed to tell him that Gray's dead?"

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Gray's been dead for four years." Yuka said bluntly.

"What? Gray's dead?" Shun repeated, making everyone in the room nod. "H-How? I don't understand—"

"He was apart of the Tenrou team that went to Tenrou Island along with the rest of Fairy Tail's strongest members. The island was annihilated by Acnologia. No survivors were found." Jura interrupted.

"Damn it..." Shun muttered, closing his eyes.

"What do we do now, Shun? With your brother gone there's really no point in joining Fairy Tail." Mila pointed out.

Shun ran a hand down his face before opening his eyes. "I don't know, Mila. We're running low on jewel and taking freelance jobs doesn't pay well enough. I suppose we still could join Fairy Tail. They might be in need of a strong wizard now that their strongest members are dead." He replied.

Lyon, Jura, and Yuka darkened their gaze.

There was no way they were going to let another Dragon Slayer join Fairy Tail.

They already had four after all.

"Why not join Lamia Scale?" Lyon suggested.

Shun glanced over at Mila who looked back with a pleading look. Finally, he sighed. "Fine. We'll join." He agreed.

This made Lyon, Jura, and Yuka smile as Shun and Mila followed them out of the room so they could see Obaba Babasaama, Lamia Scale's guild master.

"Oh, so you're the person Lyon carried into the infirmary." Obaba stated.

"Yes." Shun bowed before straightening up. "Thanks to your guild for saving me. Mila and I really have nowhere else to go, so in return, we would like to join Lamia Scale."

"Very well." Obaba leaves for a moment before returning with the guild stamp. "What color do you want your guild mark and in what color?"

Shun got his in dark blue and on his right shoulder, while Mila got her mark in white and on her back.

"Hey, Lyon. Can I ask for a favor?" Shun asked, walking up to Lyon.

"What is it?"

"Ah, well. My Ice-Make Magic is not really the best. I taught myself it only a year ago so I know some basic spells. Mind giving me a few tips?" Shun asked.

"I would be honored to."

Shun was about to follow Lyon when Mila flew on his shoulder. "Shun, I think we're going to be alright." She said.

"Yeah, I know."
