Max had a plan.
That plan involved getting David to take him into town.
David was busy staring off across the lake at Spooky Island.
Max carefully approached the adult, making sure he made enough noise for David to notice him.
David's head tilted in his direction.
His voice sounded like he'd been breathing ash.
"Yes Max?"
Max took an unconscious step backwards.
"I was wondering if you could take me into town?"
It took maybe 3 seconds for David to respond.
"Sure."
Within moments they were in Gwen's new Nissan.
Max couldn't believe his luck, the old David hated town.
The new David was pretty creepy, Max reminded himself that the man was at least half Demon now.
If David wanted his soul, things would go south pretty fast.
