Chapter Twenty: Meeting His Parents
Ezra asked "So are you two ready now? Once we go through these doors" Caleb nodded and he asked "Yeah, I'm ready, how about you darling?". Elizabeth stated "Yeah I'm ready, and I have you by my side, it'll relieve some of the tension". Ezra opened the door and they walked into the house, to which he said "Mom, Dad we're home". Elizabeth had looked around the house which looked quite the sight to her but she heard walking.
Both the parents were walking down the stairs, which Caleb remained by Elizabeth's side and all his father stated " this is the woman I've been hearing about". Ezra nodded, he went to the living room now, it seemed like a session of silence now. When the mother had seen her she said "Well she is impressive, so what's your reputation at the school". Caleb said "She's one of the girls on the cheer team" which his father groaned a bit "Another cheerleader".
Ezra had stated "Just give her a chance, she isn't a bad woman" which Caleb sighed a bit in relief for his brother standing up for Elizabeth now. Though he would've done it, his parents probably wouldn't have taken his own opinion on it. His mother then said "I suppose we can, she does not seem that bad from the last woman". It seemed like the mother seemed to be more supportive of their son's relationship and such, besides Zoe was a horrible choice.
Besides, she looked like the popular one and they thought that she was also rich because of the dress that she was wearing, however that was untrue. She had the dress because her friend Mia had paid for the dress, she was closely near middle class. Mainly, she saw that she was more like the end-low class, beginning middle class. Caleb and his brother knew her actual situation and that is why they made up the lie that she was quite wealthy.
The father said "I supposed, if you have made a dear impact on our son's life, I would not argue against his choices then" it seemed like he was fine with them. Elizabeth and Caleb had walked into the living room where Ezra was relaxing and he seemed relieved now. Ezra stated "I heard the conversation and all I said was good luck to both of you". It seemed like the two now had to uphold her false identity now, which was going to be hard.
However it couldn't be that hard to do either way? She already had a good reputation, however they didn't know how to explain about her father. Maybe they could come up with a lie on why they looked like they were looking barely middle class. They could just admit that they live like it because it hides their own wealth, besides Elizabeth's house did look better inside. One thing did happen, Caleb's father had asked for Elizabeth and her parents to join for dinner.
Dinner for tomorrow night and that was when a moment of silence appeared for Ezra and Caleb which the two had looked at each other. Elizabeth stated "I can try but he's a busy guy, working late and such to maintain our own reputation". Caleb sighed a bit in relief, he ended up holding Elizabeth close now, he usually did this when he was tense. Ezra stated "I can talk to her father about it and such, I am usually best at this stuff" which their father nodded.
However when Ezra, Caleb and Elizabeth walked outside and all Ezra said was "Your fucked, your fucked, you are royally fucked Elizabeth like… your father will not be able to impress ours". Caleb stated "Hold on now, the dude seems like a standard dude really". Ezra groaned, he said "Caleb, you're not looking at it like that. If they find out you both are finished". Caleb stated "I don't care on what our parents think, they're not gonna keep her and our child away from me".
Caleb stated "If I have to I will go in there and tell them myself" which Ezra replied "Caleb please don't" which Caleb had walked into the house now. And Ezra said "I'm sorry Elizabeth" which he added "I tried to stop this from happening but they demanded to know about you". They heard an argument break out and Caleb came outside of the house now. All Caleb said was "Come one Eli, lets go" which she had gone with Caleb now.
Later that same evening, when they had arrived at Elizabeth's place and her father was still up watching some movies, the two quietly came into the room. Her father asked "So what have you two been up to so far tonight?". Elizabeth stopped, she said "It's a long story father" which Caleb added "And I personally don't want to talk about it". Scott nodded and he let the two go on with their night now, and both Elizabeth and Caleb ended up crashing in her bed again.
It is still unknown on why Caleb and his parents got into some argument however by the looks of it, then he was going to be staying with Elizabeth for a bit. Until they can get the whole situation figured out with, and Ezra can convince his parents otherwise. But because of the fact that they didn't approve of her, it really placed a lot of stress on the both of them. However there is one thing that is true, the both of them looked adorable together in each other's arms.
