Spider-Man: Fire and Desire
Author's Note: Hey, look at that! It only took me a little bit over a month to post chapter 17. It's progress, guys. The last update took over a year, lol. Let's reply to some reviews.
Raka pramud: I can confirm the Camaro is indeed Bumblebee. Whether or not he'll ever transform is a different story. Fun fact! Spidey actually had a crossover comic with the Transformers once.
Batfreak542: Yep, I made Peter have organic webbing like Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. Also, the hospital point you brought up is very valid, but I do want to say I've already thought about it. How will it affect the plot, you may ask? Well, stay tuned.
That seems to be all the reviews. A quick note before we begin, this chapter won't be about the upcoming party, so due to this, I've changed the name of this chapter. I've decided for this chapter to mainly focus on Peter and Felicia, along with focusing on… other things. I'll just say this chapter gets crazy in its own way. It'll be somewhat of a crack chapter, meaning you'll probably think I'm on crack by reading some of these events. With that being said, let's get this party started!

Chapter 17: The Furious Future
Midtown High School
Word about the house party at the Osbron Penthouse was spreading around like wildfire at Midtown High. Heck, let's go a step further and say if you weren't Norman Osborn, then almost all of New York knew about this party. Friends were contacting friends from other schools, so this is a clear indication that the party is going to be packed.
The school day was coming to a close, and it would be confirmed by the bell ringing.
As students ran out of the school to get ready for the party of their lives, Peter and Harry were walking to the Camaro. They figured it would be best to help Bernard set up the party.
"Man, if my dad finds out about this, he's gonna nuke my entire existence." Harry said, opening the car door and getting into the passenger seat.
Peter sighed, deciding not to get in the driver seat yet. "Don't get cold feet on me now, bro. The whole school, along with students from other schools, are planning to come to this party."
"That's what I'm afraid of," clarified Harry. "It's one thing for all of Midtown High to know, but it's another thing when literally everyone else in New York within our age group knows. If anything goes wrong, we're done."
"Nothing bad is going to happen," Peter assured, but his tone made it seem like he was talking to a paranoid child. "Loosen up. Forget about everything and have some fun for once."
"I'm really still not used to you talking like this." Harry pointed out, clearly not having a clue why Peter seemed to be a bit out of character recently.
Peter showed a smirk. "Things have changed." Translation: an alien symbiote was influencing him.
As Peter was finally about to get in the driver seat, he noticed there was a certain beautiful girl that was walking by herself.
Felicia Hardy.
Deep down, this entire situation was confusing for Peter. He was still trying to get over the news that Captain Stacy dropped on him a while ago. Specifically, the news about Walter Hardy, Felicia's father, being the murderer of Uncle Ben.
Yes, even with him thinking differently about Uncle Ben ever since his first showdown with Kingpin, it doesn't change the fact he still loves him. He's just not sure if 'with great power, comes great responsibility' was ever real, considering those words were said by somebody who seemingly didn't practice what he preached.
Peter has been trying to separate the situation from Felicia, because she's not the murderer. She shouldn't be held guilty for what her father did. As of right now, Peter and Felicia have a really good friendship. They've both shown themselves to be there for each other on a consistent basis. And… well, Peter would be lying if he said he didn't have a crush on her.
Then again, to be blunt, he and almost all of Midtown High have a crush on Felicia. But in Peter's case, this… this was different. Having a crush can be one thing, since anybody can have one. However, when a simple crush starts evolving into something else, this is when things can get a bit tricky. Feelings start playing a major role, and with this development, it leads into two things.
Happiness or heartbreak.
You see, the thing about a crush is that you can get crushed.
This fact often makes people choose to not go after what they desire. The fear of rejection is very much real. Felicia has flirted with Peter a few times, but it was done in a playful way. Also, playfully flirting seems to be a part of Felicia's character.
Still, even so, Peter can't deny that his feelings for Felicia have grown, but can the same be said for her?
A discussion needs to be had.
As Peter continued to watch Felicia walk away, his Camaro would automatically turn on and play the radio, letting the music describe Peter's current feelings.
BGM: The Cars – Drive
Harry wasn't expecting the Camaro and the radio to suddenly turn on, considering Peter wasn't even inside it yet. "What's up with this car? Is it alive or something?" This marks the second time the Camaro has done something on its own. Though, he assumes the Camaro is like this due to some probability of Norman making modifications to it.
Peter wasn't listening to Harry at all. His mind was in another world. "Harry, you gotta get out the car."
Harry raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"I need to have a talk with Felicia." Peter explained, pointing at the girl who was still walking away.
Harry would shrug in response. "Okay, well, she can get in the backseat and-"
"Harry," Peter interrupted, "This is serious. Nobody else can be in the car when Felicia and I are having this conversation." The conversation Peter was referring to not only dealt with his feelings for her, but it also dealt with her father. Whether or not they'll actually get to those subjects is a different story, though.
Harry began to rub his forehead in frustration. "So much for bros before ho-"
"Harry!" Peter shouted, causing Harry to jump a bit. Seriously, when did Peter get so aggressive?
"How am I going to get home if you leave me here?" Harry asked.
"Call Bernard or something. I'm sure he wouldn't mind giving you a ride." Peter replied. It was obvious that Harry didn't like this one bit, but whatever Peter wanted to talk about with Felicia seemed like it was serious.
Rolling his eyes, Harry got out of the car, and Peter would get in.
"You owe me." Harry told Peter, dramatically pointing at him.
"I know, I know." Peter said, kind of brushing it off, but he knew he had to repay Harry someway in the future. Without saying another word, Peter drove off, leaving Harry in the dust as he went after Felicia. While this was going on, Assistant Principal Coulson was looking out the window, never taking his eyes off the situation.
Using a communicator, he would say these words.
"Agent T, Agent O'C, keep an eye on him."
With that going on, we now switch our focus back to Peter and Felicia. Once the Camaro was right by where Felicia was, Peter opened the right window and called out her name, proceeding to blow the horn. "Felicia!"
Hearing her name, Felicia turned to see Peter in his Camaro. Her face showed she wasn't really expecting this.
"I can take you home. No need to walk alone when your friend has a brand-new Camaro." Peter stated, making Felicia laugh slightly.
"Fine, I accept your offer." she responded, opening the door and got in the passenger seat. Once the door was closed, Peter drove off.
"By the way, where do you live anyway?" asked Peter.
"It's not too far from here, but for now, don't worry about it." Felicia casually said, as they drove around New York. "So, have you given your car a name yet?"
Peter thought about Felicia's question. "To be honest, I haven't really thought about giving it a name." he replied. "You got any ideas?"
Felicia went into a thinking pose, beginning to hold her chin. She thought about the appearance of the Camaro, and eventually, she would come up with something.
"Bumblebee."
Peter tilted his head. "Bumblebee?"
"Yeah, it makes the most sense. Your car is yellow with black racing stripes. Might as well go the extra mile and name it Bumblebee." explained Felicia, and honestly, it did make a whole lot of sense after Peter heard her explanation.
"You know what? I like it." Peter said, grinning a bit. "From now on, this car will be called Bumblebee."
Felicia raised an index finger, wanting to add something else. "Also, since I did come up with the name, it's only right for me to drive Bumblebee whenever I want to." she joked, getting a laugh out of Peter.
"Let's not get too crazy now. You may have given it a name, but I'm still the owner." Peter told her, having his own joking tone.
Well, so far, so good. The conversation was going well. Peter had to continue to ride this momentum.
"Anyway, have you heard about Spider-Man returning?" Peter inquired, remembering that Felicia was a Spider-Man fan. He figured it would be a good topic to bring up.
However, when Peter asked this question, Felicia's face represented a look of uncertainty. There were a lot of things going through her mind, and it always went back to how her masked persona, Black Cat, betrayed Spider-Man's trust during the showdown with Kingpin. It's something she constantly regrets, and this feeling won't be changing anytime soon.
"Yeah, I know he's back." Felicia dryly said, but Peter didn't seem to pick up on it.
"That beatdown he gave Wilson Fisk was something else, huh?" Peter added, still driving and acting without a care in the world. "Their fight couldn't have happened for no reason, though. Something must've happened to make Spidey become that violent."
Hearing Peter speak, Felicia made sure to be very careful about what she would say next. Heck, she wonders if she should say anything at all, but alas, she will. "I think something did happen, since Spidey has no prior history of beating someone down like that. But believe it or not, I actually kinda liked what he did."
Once Peter heard this, he was clearly interested in hearing more. "Really?"
Felicia nodded. "Yeah. I don't know what it is about Wilson Fisk, but he…" she paused, still being cautious with her words. "He rubs me the wrong way. People treat him like he's the hero of New York, but I just don't see it."
She would continue to speak.
"And I'm not gonna lie, even though I'm one of Spidey's biggest fans, I haven't always been a fan of his methods." Felicia was basically referring to how Spidey always managed to show mercy, even to the worst criminals that don't appear to deserve it. "But…" she paused again, closing her eyes and would open them after taking a deep breath. "Seeing the way he attacked Fisk, I know that isn't him."
There was a silence that overtook the conversation. It wasn't awkward or anything, but it was causing Peter to really ponder on Felicia's words. By the way she finished off her statement, it sounded like there was a hint of sadness in there, but why would there be any sadness to begin with? Does she care that much about Spider-Man? Does she realize that Spider-Man might be going down a dark road he may never return from?
The answer to both of these questions is yes.
Felicia, meaning Black Cat, has gone down a few dark roads herself, but that's her. She hasn't necessarily done anything too outlandish, but she has to admit that Spider-Man has always helped her when it looked like she could go the other way. Even if she never believed she would be anything more than a cat burglar, Spider-Man always made it an effort to tell her she was more than that. She was a person capable of doing some really amazing things to help others.
But for Spider-Man to go down a dark path? Felicia knows it's not him. She knows it'll never be him. At least, in her mind, it'll never be him.
Still, Felicia couldn't help but to feel guilty, because whatever Spider-Man is going through, she knows she played a role in it, and to be specific, the role she played wasn't good.
Felicia and Black Cat would do anything to help Spidey, just like how he did anything to help her.
"Can I ask you a question, Peter?" Felicia began, breaking the silence between them.
It took a minute for Peter to snap out of it, but he was able to get back into the swing of things. "Sure. Ask me anything."
"Are you okay?"
That was Felicia's question, and yes, it did feel sudden, but strangely enough, in other ways, it didn't feel sudden.
This question made Peter think about everything that's happened to him, but then, it ends with the death of his Aunt May. The whole night started replaying in his head like he was stuck in some sort of time loop. The argument, the explosion, how helpless he felt since he failed to save somebody who was more than just his aunt.
Aunt May, May Parker, was essentially his mother.
The mother, the mom he's never had.
The symbiote may have masked his pain, but it hasn't gone away. He isn't sure if it'll ever go away.
"Never been better." Peter managed to say, answering Felicia's question. Obviously, it was a lie, but he can't have her thinking anything was wrong with him.
Dr. Connors' Lab
Dr. Connors was trying to work on something big, and luckily, he had his two assistants, Michael Morbius and Debra Whitman, to help him. However, even with their help, he was still reaching a blank conclusion.
Dr. Connors sighed deeply to himself. As a scientist, it's going to be obvious you run into roadblocks, but if you keep running into the same roadblock every time, then it's definitely going to get frustrating.
"Don't worry, Dr. Connors. We're getting closer. I can feel it." Michael told him, trying to offer some encouragement.
"The important thing is we have to keep trying, no matter how many times it takes." Debra added, as Dr. Connors would look at his two assistants.
"I'm going to be honest and say I don't know if I have any more attempts at trying within me." Dr. Connors honestly said, feeling discouraged. Just when he was about to call it a day, something… crazy would happen.
BGM: Back To The Future Theme Song
Suddenly, out of thin air, or what appeared to be thin air, a 1981 stainless steel DeLorean DMC-12 crashed into the lab, causing quite the ruckus. The car was still being driven at full speed, and it forced Dr. Connors, Michael, and Debra to all get out of the way as quickly as possible. "GET DOWN!" Michael yelled, hearing the screeching tires go all over the lab.
Although, somebody within the DeLorean would hit the brakes, making it stop before it destroyed anything else. As you can probably tell, Dr. Connors, Michael, and Debra had no idea what was going on. Heck, if you're reading this right now, you probably have no idea what's going on.
All they could see now was the back of the car and its license plate. Specifically, the license plate said, 'OUTATIME.'
Dr. Connors, Michael, and Debra were all continuing to peak their heads at the sight. Were they in danger? Well, this DeLorean did just wreck Dr. Connors' lab, so maybe this is all the evidence they need.
Soon enough, a car door would open, lifting up like it was a wing. An older looking man with a white lab coat and crazy gray hair that resembled Albert Einstein would get out of the vehicle. He wasn't sure what to think at first, but when he saw an old friend, it was clear the trip was successful.
"GREAT SCOTT!" the man said, not believing his eyes. "Is that you, Curt?!"
Once Curt could fully see who got out of the DeLorean, his eyes widened out of shock. "Emmett?" he managed to say, wondering if he was dreaming.
The man called Emmett would walk toward his old friend, having a big smile on his face. "Oh, you're a sight for sore eyes!" Once he was close enough, Emmett gave Curt a big hug. Curt still had no idea what was going on, but Emmett was a friend he hasn't seen in a long time. He would hug him back with his one arm, while still trying to process everything.
Michael and Debra were now more lost than ever.
"Uh… Dr. Connors, who is this?" Debra asked, as Emmett and Curt would end their hug.
Curt turned to Debra and Michael, saying, "This is Dr. Emmett Brown. He's been a friend of mine for many years, but we lost contact with each other some time ago."
"And I truly apologize, but now, I'm here to tell you I've made a revolutionary invention!" Emmett said, pointing at his DeLorean. "This is my time machine! I've been able to travel into the future along with the past, but when I decided to go back to the future, I saw something very disturbing."
Curt was trying his best to follow along. "Wait, wait, wait! Slow down!" he exclaimed, doing his best to calm himself down. "You're saying you made this DeLorean," he pointed at the car, "into a time machine. And then you went into the future and saw something crazy?"
"Precisely! The DeLorean being a time machine is the reason why I suddenly appeared in your lab just now!" Emmett confirmed. "In the future, I met a talking mouse that sounds just like Marty! And…! Wait, speaking of which… Marty! It's time to get out the car now!"
"It's tough to get out when there's two big people riding in the car, Doc!" the man named Marty replied, getting out the car and revealed himself. He was wearing a gray and blue two-tone jean jacket while wearing an orange down vest on top of it. For his footwear, he was wearing Nike Air Mags.
"Hey, everyone. I'm Marty McFly." Marty waved, and in the background, Michael decided he's had enough with the shenanigans.
"I don't get paid enough for this crap." Michael said out loud, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Marty?" Curt spoke, tilting his head. "I haven't seen you in ages as well. It's good to see you."
"Likewise, Dr. Connors." Marty agreed. "But uh, to let ya guys know, there's still more people you guys need to see."
When Marty said this, two bigger guys got out of the DeLorean, revealing themselves to the group. One person has a techno-organic right eye, left arm, and shoulder. He has gray hair, a muscular build, and a huge gun that looks like it can blast anything.
The other man had an "M" tattoo over his right eye, and long black hair to go with his darker complexion. Additionally, he has his own muscular build, a cybernetic arm, and a cybernetic eye.
"Dr. Connors, these two men are Cable and Bishop. They come from the future." Marty explained, as Cable would walk up to Dr. Connors.
"We need Spider-Man." Cable intensely said, his look striking fear into Dr. Connors, Michael, and Debra.
"We also need Matt Murdock," Bishop added, which confused Curt even more.
"I'm sorry, what?" Curt spoke. "What does Spider-Man have to do with this? And who is Matt Murdock?"
"We need these two to prevent the future apocalypse. The person who starts this apocalypse is Wilson Fisk, AKA The Kingpin." explained Cable, shocking everyone not named Bishop, Marty, or Emmett.
"Emmett…" Curt paused, looking at his friend. "Is this true?"
Emmett gave Curt a slow nod. "Unfortunately, yes. I was able to see the apocalypse with my own eyes. If something isn't done soon, then all of us will perish."
Well, that's quite the bombshell.
Times Square
BGM: Tears for Fears – Everybody Wants To Rule The World
After the whole Spider-Man question got brought up, Peter and Felicia both noticed how the mood changed. It wasn't a good change either. With that being said, neither of them wanted to leave each other's presence, so they figured it would be best to simply enjoy the drive.
"I wonder what this button does?" Felicia said, pressing a button, and it made the Camaro into a convertible.
"I had no idea Bumblebee had a convertible form. Guess you learn something new every day, huh?" Peter spoke, as the wind was blowing his hair and Felicia's hair. Truth be told, there's arguably no better vibe than this. Driving a super cool sports car that may or may not be alive, having a beautiful girl in the passenger seat, the sun is shining, and Everybody Wants To Rule The World is playing on the radio.
For a moment, everything felt right.
Peter's life, and Felicia's life, felt right. If they could spend an eternity in this moment without any additional worries, they'd do so in a heartbeat.
"Hey, Felicia," Peter began, as Felicia would look at him.
"What's up?" she replied.
"Call me crazy, but for some reason, I feel like we've been friends for a long time now." Peter honestly told her. "Like… I don't know how to explain it. We only seriously started talking this year. I haven't known you as long as Harry, Gwen, or Miles, yet everything seems to come naturally with you."
Felicia smirked. "Well, I do have that effect on people, I suppose." she joked, as Peter shook his head with a smile.
"I'm being serious. It doesn't take any effort for us to have a good time. Friendships like this don't come around often." Peter pointed out, to which Felicia agreed with. They would stop at a red light, which gave them more time to focus on each other.
"I agree," Felicia stated, having a small pause. "Although… maybe I'm looking too much into what you're saying, but I feel like you're trying to say something else."
"What do you mean?" Peter questioned.
"Is there something you want to ask or tell me?" Felicia clarified, looking into Peter's eyes. "Come on, Peter. I wasn't born yesterday. There's a reason why you wanted me to take a drive with you."
Peter laughed a little bit. "What? Is there something wrong with friends going on a drive together?"
"Never said there was anything wrong with it," Felicia told him. "Still, if we're talking about friends going on a drive, then you should've invited everyone. However, it's just the two of us."
This was it. This was the moment.
Peter and Felicia were having direct eye contact with each other. Peter taking a good look at Felicia only reminded him of how gorgeous she was.
Then other thoughts started to creep in. These other thoughts related to Walter Hardy. In Peter's mind, both sides were battling for dominance.
He can't deny it. He really liked Felicia.
He also can't deny this. Her father killed his uncle.
Look, if you were in Peter's position, if you had one shot or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment…
Would you capture it, or just let it slip?
"Agent Coulson, we have Peter in our sights." a voice said, as two cars would pull up beside Peter's Camaro.
Before Peter could respond to Felicia, he noticed the two cars pull up, and more specifically, two guys were looking at him and Felicia.
BGM: Don Omar – Bandoleros
On Peter's left side, an all-black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T could be seen.
Additionally, on Felicia's side, there was a silver and blue 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34.
"Hey, kid." the man from the Dodge Charger called out, and specifically, he was talking to Peter.
This caused Peter to turn around, wondering what was going on. "Can I help you?" Peter asked. His tone signaled he was in the middle of trying to do something important, but now, he was being interrupted.
The man in the Dodge Charger started to rev up his engine. "As soon as the light turns green, I'm going for it."
"I'm going for it too." the man in the R34 said, revving up his own engine.
"I think they're challenging you to a race," Felicia told Peter, making him sigh.
"This isn't what I had in mind…" Peter spoke.
"What's the matter?" the man in the R34 asked. "Scared of some friendly competition?"
"Take it easy on him, Brian. I doubt if this has ever happened to him before by the way he's acting." the man in the Charger told his friend. "It's not like he would win anyway, but he doesn't want to lose in front of his girlfriend."
"That makes sense, Dom. I guess I understand him better now." Brian said, and now, all Peter could do was look annoyed at both of them.
"It's a shame too. I really wanted to see what that ZL1 engine was capable of." Dom added. Clearly, he and Brian were trolling Peter.
And hey, it was working.
"You know what?" Peter began, pointing at Dom. "I'm smoking you and your friend."
"He's not my friend," Dom told him, looking at Peter, and then at Brian. "He's family."
"I share the same thoughts." Brian added, now turning his attention to the light, and everyone else would do the same.
"I don't think going up against Bumblebee is smart, fellas." Felicia told Dom and Brian, as the two wondered who she was referring to as Bumblebee.
"Who's Bumblebee?" inquired Brian.
"The car." Felicia replied.
"Can't say it doesn't make sense, at least." Dom said, figuring out the Camaro was named Bumblebee due to its paintjob.
With that being over with, the group continued to wait for the light to turn green. The loud and powerful engines of the Skyline, Charger, and Camaro were all being revved up at the same time. Peter has never been in a race before. Well, not in a car, at least. He's raced Black Cat plenty of times as Spider-Man, but this was a different ballgame.
"Ya know," said Felicia, looking at Peter while having a small pause. "You never did deny their comment about me being your girlfriend."
Peter smirked widely, knowing exactly how he wanted to respond to Felicia.
"You never denied it either."
Finally, the light would turn green, and all three cars took off at blazing speeds.
END OF CHAPTER 17: THE FURIOUS FUTURE
BGM: Spectacular Spider-Man End Credits
Harry: Who told the author it was a good idea to introduce all these characters?!
Peter: Yeah, we're going waaaayyy over our budget right now.
Felicia: We have a budget?
MJ: I don't know what's happening anymore.
Next time on Spider-Man: Fire and Desire!
House Party
Gwen: We've been tricked before about this!
Author's Note: Remember when I told you guys at the beginning of this chapter that it's gonna get crazy in its own way? If you've made it this far, then I think you guys know what I mean now, lol. Go ahead and name all the cameos if you know about all the characters I introduced. They do actually play a role in progressing the story instead of just being there, though. If y'all haven't noticed, I'm having fun with this story since it's FanFiction. Would some of these characters ever show up in an actual Spider-Man comic, movie, or cartoon? Nope, but hey, once again, it's FanFiction.
Also, out of curiosity, when you read Felicia's dialogue, who's the voice actress you imagine that she has? It's a tough one for me, because I believe Felicia has had a ton of great voice actresses.
Oh, and I have two new Spidey fanfics if you guys want to check them out. One is called Breaking Canon, where Peter passes the torch to you, (yes, you) and it makes you become Spider-Man. The other fanfic I have is called Spider-Man: Home Alone. It's set in the MCU and it takes place one year after the events of No Way Home. To all my Spidey/Cat shippers, Felicia is a love interest in the story, but she's not the only love interest. Is it a harem? No. Am I settled on a main love interest? The answer is also no. Regardless, if you like Spidey, then be sure to check out these fanfics!
Finally, if you guys enjoyed what you read, LEAVE A FOLLOW AND A FAVORITE! DON'T FORGET TO READ AND REVIEW! See ya guys next time!
