President Allen, along with Jim Gardner and vice-president Keaton are watching news coverage of the bombing in Moscow. As worried as the president is for here son, she has a job to do.

.

Allen: Do we know if Putin is dead?

Gardner: We don't know this yet. But even if he survived he would need medical attention. By now prime minister Suvarov would have been sworn in as acting president.

Keaton: We need to make it clear to Suvarov that we were not involved in this.

Allen: In my last conversation with Putin I warned him of retaliation against whoever was behind the attack on the White House. And we had plans in place to remove Putin. Those plans were not activated, correct?

Gardner: You never gave the authorization, you're the only one with the authority to approve these plans.

Allen: That isn't what I asked.

Gardner: The operatives were under strict orders not to assasinate Putin yet. We can't completely rule out the possibility that someone took matters into their own hands. If they did, we will prosecute them.

Allen: Nevertheless war would be inevitable. Two nuclear superpowers at war, no good can come from that. Suvarov will probably address his nation, assure them he's in charge. But I want to speak with him as soon as possible.

Nina Myers and Tony Almeida wait for Jack Bauer to find John Walker's daughter. This is awkward for Tony, he and Nina had a relationship, before she was revealed to be a spy. And now, he knows she will try to manipulate him.

.

Nina: Tell me Tony, do you still attend mass every week?

Tony: I try to. Sometimes I go to fisher's mass on Saturday night.

Nina: So you still consider yourself a devout catholic?

Tony: Mostly. Sometimes I find it hard to obey the rule that says "Thou shalt not kill." I also support gay marriage.

Nina: I remember you used to be against suicide, even euthanasia.

Tony: What's your point?

Nina: Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but Michelle blew her brains out, rather than suffer the effects of the Cordella virus. Ever wonder if God forgave her?

Tony: Why are you doing this to me?

Nina: I just can't understand how you can forgive Jack. Michelle wouldn't have been there if Jack hadn't conspired with those terrorists.

Tony: We had to work together to save Hekmetyar, and stop Sabzi from killing large numbers of civilians.

Nina: I can definitely understand working with him to save innocent lives. I just can't understand you going to barbeques with him, attending his granddaughter's little league games.

Tony: You think I don't know what you're doing. You want me to kill Jack because you're worried he'll kill you.

Nina: Doesn't mean I'm wrong. Just answer me this, how can you still be friends with Jack, after all he's done to you?

Tony: I have my reasons.
