"Morning!" Kate said walking into the apartment smiling. CJ, Carol, and Abbey were in their pyjamas sat round the kitchen table. Kate took her coat off and put her overnight bag down next to one of the armchairs. CJ had a green silk robe, Carol a purple silk one and Abbey a pink silk robe. Kate pulled out a chair and joined the huddle round the table.
It was just after lunch before anyone was prepared to do anything. They had planned to go ballgown shopping for the end of the month CJ, Abbey, Kate, Carol, and various others were going to a charity ball as help for the Hollis foundation and all needed new dress. Once CJ had picked out a dark blue Donna Karen, Abbey a bottle green Armani, Carol a red Diane Cooke and Kate a baby blue Vera Wang they all made their way to the changing rooms. All the dresses suited them perfectly and after purchasing these dresses they went to Carol's local coffee shop followed by a trip to the convenience store to get some snacks and drinks.
It must have been 2 hours before they were back at Carol's apartment. That's when CJ's phone rang. She checked the caller id before answering.
"Hey Hogan." CJ said walking towards her room.
"Hey Aunt CJ. Listen would you mind…can I come and stay with you for a while?" Hogan asked getting straight down to business.
"Umm when are you coming? Is it just you and how come?" CJ questioned back.
"Well, dad's driving me insane and I need a break. It's me and a friend Lyndsey her name is. I'll give you her number so you can you speak to her, and can we come as soon possible? Oh, please Aunt CJ!" Hogan pleaded.
"You can probably come tomorrow but let me just phone Danny and check. I'll text you if it's yes, but it probably will be." CJ said before hanging up to phone Danny, who of course said yes however he had some bad news to tell. Their Nanny had left, her mother had gotten sick and she had to quit to look after her, which left CJ and Danny to figure out what to do with Kat.
It was late on Saturday and CJ, Carol, Abbey and Kate had just finished their third Rom-Com of the night. They had started with 10 Things I Hate About You, then it was 27 Dresses and they had just finished Grease when Abbey spoke.
"So, Carol, what was that kick all about?" Abbey asked.
"What kick?" Carol asked in a mock confused voice.
"After Rizzo slept with him!" Abbey exclaimed. CJ threw Carol a look which didn't go unnoticed by Abbey. "You two had a look what is it?" That's when CJ burst out laughing.
"I wasn't fun then but it's funny now." CJ started. "I had a pregnancy scare like that after I slept with Hoynes. Me and Carol both enjoy watching films and tv shows together and pointing out similarities in our own lives." Both Kate and Abbey were staring at CJ.
"You slept with Hoynes!" Abbey and Kate exclaimed in unison. Carol had now joined in CJ's laughter.
"And you never said?" Abbey exclaimed.
"While he was married?" Kate asked.
"Yes, it was about 15 years ago now." CJ said looking at Carol for reassurance. "He didn't force me, but I was drunk, recently unemployed, and just didn't care. I knew he was married, and I just didn't care. I don't have many regrets but if I could take back one moment of my life I wouldn't have gotten on that elevator." Kate and Abbey sat with open mouths.
"How long have you known?" Kate asked Carol.
"I found out on the first campaign tail." Carol replied. Before anymore could be said CJ's phone went off.
"Hello this is CJ Cregg…oh hey honey. Kat being trouble? …Excellent…well Hogan and her new friend of can help look after Kat…love you too…night."
"Right, I think that's our queue to go to bed." Carol said turning the end credits of Grease off. Abbey went off in the direction of her room and Kate to hers for the night. After a few attempts to get up, they had each had a bottle of wine, CJ followed Carol into her room both still laughing.
