Wes and Rui rode through the desert and they spotted construction that is already on progress.
"What do you think they're building over there?" Rui asked.
"I have no idea, but it shouldn't even concern us. We should keep heading for Pyrite Town. That's where you said you were caught, didn't you?" Wes asked.
"Yes, I did, but I was thinking, though," Rui said.
"About what?" Wes asked.
"Well, you can only carry six Pokémon at a time, so I need to know what happens when you reach that limit," Rui said.
"I actually thought of that. Any additional Pokémon gets transferred to my vehicle here," Wes said.
"Really? How?" Rui asked.
"Gonzap issued it as a standard issue for any members of Team Snatch to keep extra Pokémon in their vehicles for safekeeping. He were given these Pokémon Boxes just to ask us if we wanna keep 'em with us or send them right to our ride. Gonzap would later come and inspect the ones he wants," Wes explained.
"You think we'll see him at some point?" Rui asked.
"I'd be surprised if I didn't see him after trashing their base," Wes said. Wes drove off right towards Pyrite Town, unaware of a pair of yellow eyes staring.
We have a look into Pyrite Town. It was a dirty town that's full of thugs and scoundrels. The buildings were rusting a bit.
Meanwhile, a young man wearing a grayish-black jacket is being interrogated by a police officer.
"Aw, Mr. Johnson, give a man a break here. I keep telling you. I don't know anything," the young man said.
"That better be true, Cail! If you're trying to con me, I'll know about it!" Mr. Johnson said.
"Mr. Johnson, sir! I wouldn't think about lying to you! You've got to believe me!" Cail said. Mr. Johnson wasn't convinced, but he didn't have anything to hold him on, so he decided to let it slide.
"All right, fine. I'll let you off easy today. See you," Mr. Johnson said, taking his leave. Cail watched Mr. Johnson leave as he grinned and chuckled to himself.
"What a nitwit. Of course I haven't got a thing to tell you!" Cail said. By this time, Wes and Rui have arrived.
"Is this the place?" Wes asked.
"Yes. The place where I was kidnapped by those thugs. Pyrite Town isn't the friendliest place you'll find; especially when everyone here wants to battle you," Rui said. Cail noticed them.
"Hey!" Cail called out to them. They stopped to see him. "I never seen your faces around these parts. What are you, tourists?"
"That's one way to put it," Wes said.
"If you don't want to get hurt, you should get lost, and quick. For the good of your health," Cail said as he chuckled.
"We'll keep that in mind," Wes said. They walked off, so Wes turned to Rui. "Where's the police station?"
"Over there," Rui said.
"Okay," Wes said. Inside the police station is an older man with gray hair and a gray mustache. He is wearing a police uniform, but that of a higher rank. Wes and Rui walked inside the police station, so Mr. Johnson accidentally bumped into Wes.
"Owowowowow... I'm sorry, chief. But there's trouble afoot!" Mr. Johnson said, talking to Wes. "You see, chief, there's talk that thugs have been witnessed using strange Pokémon..." Mr. Johnson shook off his daze. "Huh? Chief? You're not the chief..."
"I think you mean him," Wes said, pointing to the chief, sitting in his desk. Mr. Johnson chuckled in embarrassment.
"I beg your pardon!" Mr. Johnson said, bowing his head.
"That story isn't new, Johnson. I've heard about it, over and over again," the chief said. Johnson was embarrassed by what had occurred. He starts chuckling nervously.
"Oh, chief, there you are. You're such a kidder," Mr. Johnson said. "Anyway, I'm Mr. Johnson, and I'm the law around here, so it's my job to keep the peace around here."
"That would be the case if the town isn't a cesspool of chaos and lawlessness," the chief said. "If you two are travelers, then you should go and leave town at once."
"It looks like the police aren't going to help us here, so we're gonna have to leave," Wes said.
"I guess you're right," Rui agreed. The two of them stepped out of the police station and saw a they heard a voice calling out to them.
"Over here," a voice whispered.
"Who's there?" Wes asked.
"Here," the voice repeated. Rui saw a hand stick out of the shadows. Rui tapped his shoulder and pointed to where she was looking. Wes saw the hand, gesturing them to come. Wes and Rui followed the hand.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" Wes asked.
"My identity is not important. But your mission is," the mysterious figure said.
"How do you know?" Rui asked.
"Not important either, but I can provide you with a clue. Duking isn't quite himself these days," the mysterious figure said.
"Duking?" Rui asked.
"The head of the local colosseum. You can find his place in that direction. Just look for a C on the building," the mysterious figure said, literally pointing them to the right direction. They looked and they spotted the C on the building.
"Well, that was easy," Wes said.
"Thanks for the-" Rui was cut off when she saw he was gone. "What the? Where'd he go?"
"He was just here a second ago," Wes said. "Tch. We don't have time for this. We should get back to the mission at hand."
"He did say to go there, so maybe we can find out something from there," Rui said.
"It's worth a shot," Wes said.
With that said, Wes and Rui went to the building and stepped inside. They saw a large, muscular man sitting in a desk. He wore a white shirt and red pants. He also wore a pair of white gloves and brown boots.
"Excuse us," Rui said.
"May I help you?" The man asked.
"Are you by any chance, Duking, the head of the colosseum?" Rui asked.
"Yes, I am. If you want to enter a battle, go see the colosseum's receptionist. Now, if you excuse me, I'm busy," Duking said. Wes and Rui saw three kids, pull a book out of the bookshelf. It opened to reveal a secret passageway. Three of four kids went in as one of the boys stayed behind. It was like he was standing guard.
"What could those kids be up to?" Rui asked.
"You think they know something?" Wes asked.
"They got to be," Rui said. "Why are you standing here by the bookcase?"
"I'm the lookout. Nobody is supposed to get by me!" The boy said. "There's nothing special behind the bookshelf!"
"Really? Not even we pull on a certain book, we won't find any secret passage behind it, is that right?" Rui asked.
"That's right," the boy said. Rui pulled on the bookshelf and it opened. Wes and Rui stepped down stairs to find a small cavern inside. There was a desk and a table, song some other things such as boxes and metal barrels. The three kids spotted them.
"Hey, how did you get in here?" A girl in pigtails asked.
"My brother had to let them in. He's not a good lookout," the older boy said.
"Are you papa friends?" The other girl asked.
"Kinda," Wes said.
"My name's Rui, and this is Wes. What's your name?" Rui asked.
"I'm Marcia. Pleased to meet you. But, I'm sorry, we're busy. We're talking about something that's quite important," Marcia said.
"Um, okay," Wes said, shrugging his shoulders. Wes turned to Rui. "I don't know about you, but I think that guy tricked us."
"But he did say to come here. Why would he say otherwise?" Rui asked.
"Well, we couldn't find anything here, so we might as well look somehwere else," Wes said.
Agreeing with Wes, she nodded. The twosome went up the stairs of the secret passageway when they spotted a young with ash-black hair, wearing a dark teal shirt, dark blue shorts, and black shoes with white socks. He was standing before Duking's desk.
"Duking! How much more are you going to take from Miror B and his stooges?! They're using you and the colosseum!" The young said. Wes and Rui realized what was going on. Miror B was in town after all. "What is the matter with you? Have they sucked the spirit out of you?!" He slammed his hands on his desk, alarming Duking. "Tch. So you just clam up. I've lost faith in you!" He just stormed out, peeved. Duking sighed.
"I'm sorry," Duking apologized.
"Say, kid, who was that just now?" Wes asked.
"That man that went out is Silva. He's Duking's friend," the boy answered.
"He didn't seem so friendly to me," Rui said.
"Well, he was really angry. His face looked all scary," the boy said.
"I guess we weren't sent here for nothing after all. That guy we bumped into earlier knew about Miror B controlling the colosseum, and that's why he sent us here," Wes said.
"But why would they use the colosseum for?" Rui asked.
"I don't know, but we should look into this more," Wes said. He stroked his chin. "And I think we should start with asking that Silva guy. He might know what's up."
"You're right, Wes. It does sound like he knows something," Rui said.
"And we're going to get to the bottom of it. We just gotta find him," Wes said.
With that said, Wes and Rui went off to find Silva.
Meanwhile, over to Hollow Bastion, a camera in an old computer room scans the area. It moves to the door, where a hooded figure stands, and scans for data. The word 'unknown' flashes on the screen and the figure points to the camera. There is a flash of light and the camera is knocked into static and turns off. The hooded man walks over to the computer and inserts a disk. The monitor displays the words "Now Loading" before switching to an entry bar. The man types in "Another" and the computer brings him to another screen with six entry bars gathered around an inner circle symbol. He types passwords into each of these and the screen switches to "System Start". The computer returns to the normal screen and the disk is ejected. The figure takes the disk and pockets it, walking toward the now open door at the edge of the room. He walks down the long stairs in the Heartless Manufactory and steps onto a lighted panel. The floor before him slides open from the center and lights up. He walks through and the floor closes. He walks down the ramp, which disappears, and steps down a spiral hallway. His thoughts travel back to many years ago.
"Master Ansem. Regarding the experiment I presented the other day... With your permission, I'd like to proceed-" A voice said in his memories.
"I forbid it! Forget this talk of doors, and the heart of all worlds. That place must not be defiled!" Another voice said.
"But, Master Ansem, I've been thinking..." the first voice said.
"Xehanort... Those thoughts are best forgotten," the second voice said.
The figure gets to the end of the staircase and stops. The door in front of him opens with a flash and he enters a white hallway. He walks past several barred and diamond-windowed cells with digital locks and comes to another door. The door slides open. He enters a while room with black chains and Nobody symbols lining the walls and floor. The door closes behind him and he places his hand on the chair in the center of the room before sitting down. The chains and symbols glow white, eminating from the central chair. The glow crawls toward a blue figure lying on the floor.
"It's been too long...friend," the hooded figure said. The blue figure is revealed to be blue armor and the Rainfall Keyblade next to it.
Meanwhile, Zexion walks through Twilight's View in the World That Never Was.
"Zexion! Zexion!" A familiar voice shouted. Zexion saw it was Vexen coming down the stairwell in the castle.
"Right here! What is it?" Zexion asked.
"Where is Lord Xemnas?" Vexen asked.
"His usual spot," Zexion replied.
"The Chamber of 'Repose'," Vexen said as he turned away.
"Yes. Go and see for yourself," Zexion said. Vexen growled.
"That isn't funny! I suppose I have no choice but to wait," Vexen said. He walks past Zexion and mutters to himself. "But the clock is ticking. Time is running out! What to do... Why is he never around when I need him? It's almost as if he knows I'm looking for him. The whole world is..." Zexion attempts to take one more step when a voice stopped him.
"Y'know, I don't like that place either," another familiar voice spoke. Zexion turned to see Xigbar sitting atop a pipe. "What about you, Zexion? What do you think?"
"I think eavesdropping is intrusive. Why are you even here? You and Xaldin were tasked to recruit new members," Zexion said. Xigbar jumped off the pipe. "Have you forgotten? Or were you procrastinating?"
"As if! I'm doing my job. I'll have you know I found a couple just yesterday. 'Mar-' something and something-xene'. That puts the Organization's count at 12. And since I've been working so hard, I had Lexaeus take my place for the day. I want to rest up for tomorrow, so I can wake up feeling nice and refreshed," Xigbar said.
"Is that so? Well then, I will leave you to it. I've work to catch up on. Good day," Zexion said.
"Don't be like that. C'mon, stay and talk," Xigbar said. Zexion looks at the hand on his shoulder. "Isn't it time you told me about Xemnas's secret?" He lets go and walks away. "How long ago was it... When a bunch of warriors wielding key-shaped swords appeared and unleashed a spectacular battle? And when it was all over, all that was left was a man lying unconscious without his memories. Xemnas, uh, I mean Xehanort, was found by Ansem right around then, wasn't he?"
"Your point?" Zexion asked. Xigbar stops.
"The 'Chamber of Repose'. If you recall, that's where we spent our time researching the darkness that resides within people's hearts. It's a graveyard that was sealed by order of Ansem the Wise. The first thing Xemnas did once he got rid of him was to undo the seal and build a room in the back. Ever since then, he holds himself up in that room when he can, and he talks to someone," Xigbar said. He turns back around to face Zexion. "But who? For all I know, he's the only one in that room."
"Need I repeat myself about eavesdropping?" Zexion asked, unamused.
"Not eavesdropping. Couldn't hear what they were saying. Dying to find out what it was though. You wouldn't know anything about it, would you?" Xigbar asked.
"I know I would very much like to focus on my own duties..." Zexion stated as he walked past Xigbar, "...as you should with yours. For we need to prepare the new project immediately. But there are only twelve of us in the Organization. We're going to need one more hand on deck."
"What new project? Oh, you mean the pet project involving all those Pokémon, right? Making them close the doors to their hearts and making them our total puppets. What does Xemnas plan on doing with those creatures anyway?" Xigbar asked.
"He already shared his intentions with us," Zexion said. Xigbar turns around.
"But did you know there's something he didn't share?" Xigbar asked. Zexion stopped. "The 'Chamber of Repose' is part of a pair. The 'Chamber of Waking' is the other. Another graveyard, if you want to call it that. It was constructed by someone other than Xemnas himself." Zexion turns around. "And that's where he'll find it... That's where he'll find his other 'friend'."
"What about this 'Chamber of Waking', Xigbar? What are you talking about?" Zexion asked.
"Oh, you know what I'm talking about, Zexion. I'm talking about Castle Oblivion. That's where that chamber is," Xigbar said.
"That place is a maze; you know as well as I that searching every room in that castle is impossible," Zexion said.
"Yeah, I know, but Xemnas has been interested in it for quite some time," Xigbar said. "He seems to think that these Pokémon will play a role in our plans, and help with our search for the Chamber of Waking. The darkness within the Pokémon be unleashed through their rage and hate."
"For the last time, I would like to get back to my work," Zexion said.
"Sure thing, Zexion. I said what I needed to say anyway," Xigbar said.
Back in Pyrite Town, Wes and Rui have just set off to find Silva when they're greeted by a young man wearing a biker-like outfit.
"Hey, that outfit!" The young man called out. Wes and Rui stopped to look at him.
"What about my outfit?" Wes asked.
"You a tourist or something?" The young man asked.
"Something like that," Wes answered.
"Good. That's okay, then. I'll teach you about one of the few rules the town has," the young man said.
"And that would be-?" Wes asked.
"That you should be careful who you cross," the young man said, taking out his Pokéballs. "Let's have a battle just so you'd learn." He threw the Pokéballs. "Go! Sentret and Taillow!" His Pokéballs opened and lets out his Taillow and Senret. Wes took out the Pokéballs containing two of the black aura Pokémon and threw them.
"Go! Makuhita and Quilava!" Wes called out. His Pokéballs opened and Makuhita and Quilava came out to battle.
"Taillow! Use Wing Attack! Sentret! Use Scratch!" The young man ordered.
"Makuhita, Quilava! Use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Makuhita and Quilava rushed at the two opposing Pokémon, dealing some heavy damage to them.
"Taillow! Use Peck! Sentret! Use Scratch again!" The young man ordered. His two Pokémon rushed at Makuhita and Quilava. Taillow pecks at Makuhita while Sentret scratches Quilava. Rui then saw the darkness in their hearts build up.
"Wes, Makuhita and Quilava both has the darkness in their hearts have gone up even higher!" Rui said.
"Anything I should know about?" Wes asked.
"I don't know. I just thought I should let you know," Rui said.
"Use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. The two Pokémon rushed at Taillow and Sentret and dealt some more damage on them, resulting in a double knockout. He called Taillow and Sentret back inside and took out his next Pokéball and threw it.
"Slakoth! Go!" The young man called out. Makuhita and Quilava were going wild. "Slakoth! Use Crush Claw!" Slakoth went right over to Quilava and swiped its claw at it. Quilava ended up going berserk.
"Calm down, Quilava!" Wes called out. Quilava then calmed down. Wes was confused. "What the?" Wes turned to Rui. "Hey, Rui, what's up with Quilava?"
"I think Quilava managed to calm down, because the darkness weakened a bit, but Makuhita's darkness is still surging, so I think when you called out to Quilava by name, it calmed down. I think it'll be the same for Makuhita," Rui said.
"It'll be worth a try," Wes said. "Makuhita!" Makuhita then calmed down.
"I don't know what you two were talking about, but it stops here! Slakoth! Use Crush Claw!" The young man ordered. Slakoth came at Quilava again, but Wes wasn't having it.
"Makuhita! Use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Makuhita charged at Slakoth with a Shadow Rush, resulting a knockout.
"Whoops! You were better than me!" The young man said. He called Slakoth back. "I tripped myself up, but you're not bad at all. Your Pokémon are tops, too."
"Thanks," Wes said.
"I can see it in your eyes. You're just like us. It's easy to see," the young man said.
"Look, we're in a bit of a hurry, so we need to know something. Have you seen a guy go by here? He has black hair, wearing teal-colored shirt," Wes said, giving the description of Silva.
"You know, I think I saw him come by here just a little bit before you did. He went down that way," the young man said, pointing to his left. "He looked like he was pissed off about something.
"That's all we needed to know," Wes said.
"Thanks for the help," Rui added as the two of them walked off. As they walked, Wes turned to Rui.
"You mentioned before that a Pokémon's heart's door will start opening, so is it happening?" Wes asked.
"Yes, Wes. I noticed it when you started battling. They were starting to open it little-by-little, and when you called out to them, it took out a chunk of the darkness. The Pokémon must be remembering who they were before their hearts closed up," Rui said.
"Then we're already making good progress. Okay, let's get going," Wes said. Rui nodded with agreement. They proceeded in finding Silva when they were spotted by a young woman wearing a red top and black pants with brownish-red boots.
"Oh, look at what we have here. You're quite a hottie," the young woman flirted. "Why don't you lose that wallflower with you and be my sweetie?" Wes wasn't the least bit interested in her, but Rui became jealous that she was coming onto Wes.
"Wait a second! Who are you calling wallflower? What about me makes me a wallflower?" Rui asked, angered. The young woman laughed.
"Look at her, she's all serious! Uncool! I'm only teasing out of boredom. A guy like him, he's not to my taste," the young woman teased. Rui growled in anger.
"That's it! I'm furious now!" Rui hissed. "Wes! Be a man; stomp her down!"
"Looks like I get caught in the middle," Wes said.
"Stomp? Who me?" The young woman asked as she laughed. "That's a laugh! Come on, then! I'll go easy on you."
"And that's your mistake," Wes said, taking out two of his Pokéballs. The young woman took out her Pokéballs and threw them. "Go! Gulpin and Zubat!" Her Zubat and Gulpin emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Go! Croconaw and Bayleef!" Wes called out. Bayleef and Croconaw came out to battle.
"Gulpin! Use Sludge! Zubat! Use Leech Life!" The young woman ordered.
"Croconaw, Bayleef! Use Shadow Blitz!" Wes ordered. Croconaw and Bayleef charged right at the two Poison-types and lands a hit on the both of them, dealing some heavy damage.
"Zubat! Use Gust! Gulpin! Use Acid Spray!" The young woman ordered. Zubat flapped its wings right at the Leaf Pokémon as Gulpin spewed a nauseous yellow-green substance right at Croconaw.
"Dodge and use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Bayleef and Croconaw rushed right at the Poison-types and lands a hit on the both of them, resulting in a double knockout.
"You got all serious!" The young woman exclaimed, calling her two Pokémon back. She ends up pouting. "What kind of man battles a frail girl without easing up? You're not going to win the hearts of the girls that way."
"Well, I warned you. It doesn't matter if it's a guy or a girl, because an opponent is an opponent," Wes said. The girl huffed and took off. He turned to Rui. "You got nothing to worry about, because I wasn't the least bit interested in her, Rui."
"You mean it, Wes?" Rui asked.
"I do. I mean, I would have battled her regardless if you said anything or not," Wes said.
"Yeah, sorry for putting you on the spot like that," Rui said.
"Don't apologize, Rui. Like I said I wasn't interested in her," Wes said. Rui blushed a bit.
"Are you interested in me?" Rui asked. Wes started to blush.
"Well, I like hanging out with you. I mean, you're the first real friend I ever had since Espeon and Umbreon," Wes said. Rui was touched that he called her his friend.
"You think of me as a friend?" Rui asked.
"Yeah. Back when I was in Team Snatch, I never had any friends or family," Wes said. Rui started to feel sorry for him since she just learned this bit of information. "Let's get back to work on our mission."
"Okay," Rui said. She wanted to ask him about his family, but she didn't want to put salt on his wounds. She knew there was going to be a time to ask him, but she didn't know if he wanted to talk about it. They kept going and made it to a circle of Trainers. She gasped as she recognized the area. "Oh!" Wes turned to her.
"What's wrong?" Wes asked.
"It was in this square that I saw that strange Pokémon," Rui explained.
"It is?" Wes asked.
"Yes. I tried to leave town, afterwards, and that's when those creeps grabbed me. We should be careful. Even at the best of times, there's nothing normal about this town," Rui said.
"I'll take your word for it, Rui. Silva would know what's up with Duking," Wes said.
"Hey, did you say you were looking for Silva?" A voice asked. They turned to see an old man taking a stroll.
"Do you know where he is?" Wes asked.
"I saw him head over to the Colosseum. You may catch him if you hurry," the old man said.
"Colosseum. Got it," Wes said.
"Which is the Colosseum?" Rui asked.
"Just go through the square and past the windmill. You won't miss it," the old man said.
"Let's go," Wes said.
Wes and Rui headed right for the Colosseum. Wes and Rui walked past the Trainers and Rui saw the battles going on. Rui saw black auras coming from the Pokémon that were battling. The Pokémon were a Flaaffy, a Skiploom, a Jumpluff, a Noctowl, a Slugma, a Misdreavus, a Smeargle, a Shuckle, and a Togetic.
"Those Pokémon have the same black aura as Makuhita, Croconaw, Bayleef, and Quilava," Rui said.
"We'll snag those later. Right now, we need answers," Wes said.
They have arrived to the local colosseum. There was a man standing by the counter.
"Why are you just standing there?" Wes asked.
"I didn't get here in time for the registration. I've heard that if you win the challenge, you get an awesome Pokémon like that Cail did," the man explained. He winced when he realized what he just blurted out. "Oh, sheesh, what am I saying? You have to keep that a secret! Pretend you never heard me, okay?" That name he just mentioned struck a cord for Rui.
"Wes! Wasn't Cail that guy who was hanging around the town's entrance?" Rui asked.
"Now that you mentioned it, he is," Wes said.
"We should ask him. He might know something," Rui said.
"We might as well, since we can't find Silva here anyway," Wes said.
With that said, Wes and Rui stepped out of the Colosseum to find Cail and get the information they'll need. Wes and Rui made it back to the entrance of Pyrite Town, so they approached him. "Hey, Cail, was it?"
"Yeah, and what's it to you?" Cail asked.
"Weird is you have a very unusual Pokémon, and that you won it right at the colosseum, right?" Wes asked.
"Hah? What's that? You're wanting to know if I have a weird Pokémon?" Cail asked. He chuckled. "If you want to know that much, you may as well see it with your own eyes!" He took out two of his Pokéballs and threw them. "Furret, Ralts, go!" His Pokéballs opened to reveal Furret and Ralts. Wes has let out Espeon and Makuhita for this one. Rui stared right at Furret and saw the black aura.
"Wes, that Furret's the one with the black aura!" Rui said.
"Then I know my target," Wes said.
"Furret! Use Shadow Rave! Ralts! Use Disarming Voice!" Cail ordered. Ralts unleashed a massive shadow attack from the ground, hitting Makuhita and Espeon. Ralts unleashed Disarming Voice, hitting Makuhita, dealing some additional damage.
"Makuhita! Use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Makuhita charged at Ralts and dealt some damage on the Feeling Pokémon, resulting in a knockout. "Espeon! Use Confusion!" Espeon lifted up Furret, but slammed it hard on the ground. Furret got back up on its feet.
"Furret! Use Shadow Down!" Cail ordered. Furret unleashed a dark aura and surrounds Makuhita and Espeon. "Furret! Use Strength!" Furret rushes at Espeon and uses its physical force on the Sun Pokémon and it was stronger than it was supposed to be.
"What's this?" Wes asked.
"Shadow Down lowers an opponent's defense. Really cool, huh? Furret! Use Shadow Rave!" Cail ordered. Furret prepared to unleash another Shadow Rave, but Wes wasn't having it.
"Makuhita! Use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Makuhita ran towards Furret and lands a hit on Furret.
"Ralts! Use Psybeam on Makuhita!" Cail ordered.
"Espeon! Use Confusion on Ralts!" Wes ordered. Espeon lifts Ralts in the air and gave it a fling. Ralts was taken out. Cail called his Ralts back inside and he took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Seedot! Go!" Cail called out. His Pokéball opened and Seedot emerged from inside. "Seedot! Use Astonish on Espeon!" Seedot came at Espeon.
"Makuhita! Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Makuhita lands a Shadow Rush onto Seedot and sent the Acorn Pokémon back. Seedot was knocked out with a single hit. He called Seedot back and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Machop!" Cail called out. Machop emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Machop! Use Dual Chop!" Machop rushed at Wes's team with a Dual Chop.
"Espeon! Use Confusion!" Wes ordered. Espeon used Confusion to stop Machop in the air and sent Machop right at Furret, dealing some damage.
"Furret! Use Shadow Rave!" Cail ordered. Furret got started to unleash another Shadow Rave, but Wes saw it as a chance to attack Furret again.
"Psybeam!" Wes ordered. Espeon fired Psybeam and struck Furret on the mark. Wes then took out a Pokéball and converted it into a Snag Ball. He threw it right at Furret, making it flow inside. The Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch. Cail was stunned to see it happen.
"Now, Makuhita! Use Shadow Rush!" Wes ordered. Makuhita's emotions built up again and he charged at Machop and it dealt some heavy damage, but Makuhita has suffered some recoil damage. "Makuhita!" Hearing Wes's voice, Makuhita calmed down. Machop got back up, but fell back on the ground, beaten. "My Shadow Pokémon!"
"Shadow Pokémon?" Wes asked. Rui was just as confused.
"Bah! That was it? That lying Miror B! He came up with that fancy tough-sounding name, Shadow Pokémon, but it was no big deal!" Cail growled. "You guys be careful, too. Don't be played for a sucker. That's about all they'll give you if you win at the colosseum."
"Shadow Pokémon? That's what it's called? A Shadow Pokémon? That Pokémon with the black aura..." Rui paused as she was now filled with dread.
Over to the top of a building close to the Colosseum, Miror B is standing before the screen, speaking with the man whom Wes and Rui met in Phenac City. It turns out his name is Nascour, and he is the one running the show. Standing with Miror B is a couple of young women.
One of them has purple hair as the other has short auburn red hair.
The one with the purple hair wore a red body suit with a light gray jacket. She wore white gloves, dark gray boots, and a pair of goggles on her head.
The one with the short auburn red hair is wearing a green shirt, exposing her navel, dark blue pants, black boots, a black jacket vest, a black bandana, and a pair of goggles on her head.
"I trust things are going according to plan, Miror B," Nascour said.
"Oh, yes indeed, Master Nascour! Our plan is coming along in a lovely, peachy-keen way. We have already broken Duking's spirit. We can do as we please at the Colosseum without his meddling. We've been giving away Shadow Pokémon on the sly to challenge winners for gathering data," Miror B reported.
"Good. The others also appear to be doing their parts to implement our plan. Our Shadow Pokémon plan is falling into place quickly. The final phase is not far off," Nascour said.
"This is perking up my spirit and body! I feel like dancing!" Miror B boasted.
"Save your dancing until our plans succeed. I'm off," Nascour said, breaking contact. Miror turned around to face the young women.
"Okay then… I shall make my return to the cave where my darling Pokémon await my return! Let the music play!" Miror B exclaimed as he started to dance.
Now that they know that they're called Shadow Pokémon, the next thing to do is snag the Shadow Pokémon that Rui saw at the square before taking on the colosseum, but how was Duking's spirit broken? What could Nascour be planning with these Shadow Pokémon? Find out as we press on with the story.
Note: I'm going to have Wes snag the Shadow Pokémon that were mentioned before, so don't be PO'd at me for not snagging them sooner. Anyway, that's all for now! Until then...
