Chapter 3: King of Fighters 95 Opening
Mountain Gym, China.
It was August, 1995.
Chin Gentsai was waiting for his pupils while training on a gym located on the mountains beneath some waterfalls. He was mastering his abilities and soon felt the presence from his two pupils arriving at the place. As the two fought each other, Kensou and Athena both felt a nasty aura passing their way.
"Did you feel that, Athena?" Kensou asked his friend.
"Yes, someone very nasty have passed this way." Athena replied Kensou.
"You two are learning how to sense negative energy, that is some progress on your psycho powers." Chin approached them teaching them about it.
"There is something I need to tell you; I'm inviting you two for the next King of Fighters tournament that happens this year. I was invited and the rules are the same from the last year." Chin said counting on his disciples.
"You can count me in." Kensou said.
"Sure, we're a team." Athena replied.
After reading the invitation.
"What would be this 'R' person anyway?" Kensou asked the two.
"Rugal died on the last tournament, I'm also concerned about this new 'R' on this year's tournament." Chin said.
"It's probably another nasty aura who we need to defeat to win the tournament." Athena replied.
"Then I think the Psycho Soldier Team is formed again." Chin said already ready for the tournament to come.
Amazon, Brazil.
Heidern was with his adoptive daughter teaching her the basics of the combat, just to prepare her for the worse case scenario and also because he loved to fight as a military officer and wanted her to inherit his techniques and way of fighting.
"Now let's try this shooting range, are you ready for it, Leona?" He asked the blue haired soldier. His daughter seemed to be learning very fast.
"Yes." As a woman of few words, she replied her adoptive father and received from him an IMBEL MD97, a Brazilian assault rifle for shooting range training.
Lieutenant Clark Still and colonel Ralf Jones were already competing to see who was the best shooter between the two, the loser would have to pay some beers.
"I'm telling you; this can happen like the last time." Ralf was boasting about being the winner the last time they did that.
"Yeah, yeah. But remember, I had my moments of victory too. Even you being my superior I'll not take it easy." Clark replied his partner.
The two with a Taurus TH9 pistol began their challenge. It was not easy for both of them since they were very alike in the case of shooting.
This time, Clark Still was the winner, even being not as usual he also had his moments of victory between the two.
"Damn it, that was very close!" Ralf complained for not being able to defeat his rival.
"Let's go, I need to drink and the booze is on your own." Clark Still said leaving the place together with Ralf Jones and stopping when finding themselves before general Heidern. They saluted each other.
"I remember having something for you two. General Heidern, take a look at this." Clark said pulling out of one of his pockets an invite to King of Fighters tournament and sealed with that 'R' one more time. He then delivered it to the commander.
"It can't be, just like the last year's invitation." Heidern said looking to the 'R' stamped on the envelope. "Rugal was supposed to be dead, right?" Ralf said to his superior. "My nightmares were true, somehow he has survived, I just don't know how." Heidern said opening the envelope and reading the invitation.
"Could it possible be another person?" Ralf Jones asked trying to figure it out.
"I hope it is, but I know Rugal is waiting for me again and I would like to be the one to defeat him this time." Heidern said venting about his feelings from the past.
The tournament day had arrived, a plane exclusive from the tournament took its fighters to start the tournament and explain the rules.
Hero Team, Fatal Fury Team, Kyokugenryu Team, Ikari Warriors Team, Psycho Soldier Team, Women Fighters Team, Korea Justice Team and Rivals Team.
"My name is Vice and this time; I'll be the one to take you from the stages and also guide you until the final. We will now see how the tournament bracket will be set. Please, each one representing a team take a sphere from 1 to 8, that will determine who you will fight." The short haired secretary explained to them.
After everyone did as she said the tournament bracket was set.
Rivals Team VS Korea Justice Team, Ikari Team VS Psycho Soldier Team, Women Fighters Team VS Fatal Fury Team, Kyokugenryu Team VS Hero Team.
"The first fight will be from Rivals Team versus Korea Justice Team. Now, we need to know whose team will have the privilege to fight home. If Rivals Team decides it, it will be Abandoned Factory, New York, USA and if the Korea Justice Team decides it, it will be Korea Forest.
"Head or Tails?" Vice asked Iori "Tails." Iori chose and Kim would be head. After a throw of the coin, Vice said the result. "The first fight is going to happen on New York, USA. We will take you there." Soon as the plane landed the two trios were out for the battle at the Abandoned Factory.
Eiji Kisaragi, Billy Kane and Iori Yagami were deciding their order while Choi Bounge, Chang Koehan and Kim Kaphwan were doing the same.
"The first to fight from Rivals Team is Eiji Kisaragi versus the first to fight from Korea Justice Team is Chang Koehan. Eiji VS Chang. Fight!" The announcer from the tournament was there.
Eiji extended his right arm and with the palm of his hand opened he did a "Kikou hau." That was a little energy coming from his hand but it was not a projectile, he needed to approach Chang to do that, but for him, that was no problem as a shinobi he did the Kisaragi Ryuu Ren Ken Kyaku before the Kikou hau, that movement was to move fast and freely and Chang being slow had this disadvantage. Chang fell on the ground after receiving the Kikou hau and got up to try to change the battle to his side. Chang did a Dai Kahai Nage holding Eiji and hit his body on the ground six times, three from each side of his body. Eiji got up and did a "Kasumi Giri!" using his arm from up to down doing a half-moon of slashing energy and easily hitting Chang being close to him. Chang tried to react catching Eiji again after the blow but it just decided the inevitable. Eiji escaped from his hand and from his sight doing another "Kasumi Giri!" from the other side hitting him on his back. Chang fell and lost the battle. "Winner is Eiji!" The announcer said while the second fighter, Choi Bounge joined the fight.
