This is an Introductory Chapter to give to yo,u my dear readers an understanding of what a Nuzlocke is and what to expect in the story as well as a list of important characters in the story and the rules I am using for my Nuzlocke Run. It will be updated periodically as the story develops. This story will have descriptions of death and violence so if you don't feel comfortable with that sort of thing then this story may not be for you.
What is a Nuzlocke
A nuzlocke is a set of self imposed rules placed upon a run of any main series game to make the game harder and more challenging. The core rules of a nuzlocke are:
- You can only catch the first Pokémon you encounter
- If your Pokémon faints then it is dead
- If your entire team faints then it is considered game over
Additional rules can be added by the player if they wish to increase the difficulty further.
My Additional Rules
Dupes Clause - If my first encounter is a Pokémon I have already captured then I do not have to capture it and can wait until the first encounter with a Pokémon I haven't yet captured.
No Fleeing From Battle - I must fight every Pokémon I encounter
In game trades are allowed as long as the requested Pokémon is "alive".
I can trade with another play to evolve my Pokémon if it needs to be traded to evolve. eg if I need to evolve a Boldore to a Gigalith

That is it for the rules and characters that will be important to the story. Since this is a story I will be skipping or changing certain events that happen in game. This is for two reasons. The first is so you dont feel like you're just reading a story version of the game and the second is that some events either don't work for the story are I feel they are better suited to happen either before or after when they actually happen in game. Now let us join Chase on his journey his journey throughout Unova. As of the 27/9/2019 the in game run has been finished. If you wish to know the outcome you'll just have to read the story to find out.
