"I have phone calls to make and things to do," Maxie said, trying to switch the subject, "Could you stay with James, Mom?"

"Of course. But Maxie, you have to stop avoiding the subject of the night Louise was born," Felicia said, "I know it's horrible to have to talk about. It might be the key to finding your daughter."

Mac held up a hand to signal to Felicia to stop talking.

"Do you know where your daughter is, Maxie?" Mac said.

"Of course not, that would be impossible," Maxie replied.

"Your use of the word 'actually' when you talked about bringing her home," Mac said, "seems to imply that you do know. It's an odd choice of words, Maxie."

"Mac, just please drop whatever idea you're entertaining," Maxie said, "Even if it was true, I wouldn't just…."

Maxie stopped talking, trying to hold back sobs.

"Oh my god," Felicia said, "You have known where Louise has been this whole time. You've been protecting her from Peter."

Maxie just sobbed as Felicia wrapped her arms around her.

"But how did you manage to…." Mac started to ask, "You were kidnapped by Peter and gave birth in the wilderness."

"I had a plan already in place," Maxie said, "When I escaped the nurse Peter hired, I had to improvise."

"Oh Maxie," Felicia said, "I can't imagine giving your daughter up like that just after she was born."

"Peter was obviously unhinged," Maxie said, "I couldn't…"

"Why didn't you tell us?" Felicia asked.

"I figured the fewer people who knew the better," Maxie said, "And you're the acting commissioner, Mac. I didn't want to put you in the position of covering up the fact she wasn't really kidnapped. I didn't want to risk Peter suspecting anything."

"I guess with Peter gone, you can go bring her home now," Felicia said, giving Mac a look to drop any further questions.

"I would love nothing more than to just do that and you're telling me Peter's gone," Maxie said, "It just hasn't sunk in. I need to talk to Anna."

"Of course," Mac said as his phone rang. He looked at his phone, "I'll be right back." Mac went to the kitchen.

Felicia pulled out her phone, "Shall we call Anna?"

"Yes, please," Maxie said.

Felicia called, but the call went to voicemail. Felicia left a message asking Anna to call her or Maxie.

"She's probably tied up with the aftermath and statements and paperwork," Felicia said, "It does kind of sound like there's a lot going on. It's too bad Kellie isn't up for a call."

"But maybe her bodyguard is," Maxie said, "But I don't have his number. But I know who does."

Maxie pulled out her phone and made a call.

"Maxie?" Jason answered.

"Oh good you answered, Mac told me Peter August is dead. I know Kellie's in surgery or recovery. I'm sorry about that," Maxie rambled.

"Not your fault," Jason said.

Maxie continued rambling, "I hope she'll be okay. But I wanted to talk to someone that was there to be sure Peter's really dead. Mac said Johnny pulled her to safety after and I was hoping that I could talk to him, but I don't have his number."

"He's right here," Jason said, "Just a second."

Maxie heard Jason telling Johnny what she wanted.

"When I pulled Kellie out of the fire, Peter appeared to be unconscious and bleeding," Johnny said, "According to Anna, Valentin, and the cops, he did not make it out alive."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," Maxie said, "Actually thank Kellie for me and give her my best and…."

Johnny hung up.

"That was rude," Maxie said, "He just hung up on me.

"Well," Felicia asked, "Who did you call?"

"Jason," Maxie said, "I figured he'd have Johnny's number. Instead he just put Johnny on the phone and Johnny said Peter was at least unconscious when he rescued Kellie. The cops and Anna and Valentin say he's dead."

Mac came back in the room, "It's Robert. He says it urgent something about a break in a case. In fact, Cyrus may have been involved in this debacle in Nixon Falls. If you need me, I'll tell Robert."

"If Cyrus Renault or any one else was helping Peter," Maxie said, "I need you to make sure they pay. Kellie doesn't talk about Jason's and Sonny's business activities. But it's no secret Cyrus is gunning for her and Jason. If Cyrus and Peter were working together and Kellie was obviously hurt by Peter."

"Might be more than just a coincidence," Mac said, "Are you sure?"

"Go," Felicia said, "I'll take care of Maxie."

"So what do you say, we go bring Louise home?" Felicia asked after Mac left.

Carly retreated to her office after Jax called and told her Sonny was alive in Nixon Falls. She'd called Jason until he answered and confirmed everything as well.

"Hey what's going on in here?" Olivia asked, peeking her head in, "A staff member said you got a phone call, went white, and just took off. Is everything okay?"

"You might want to sit down for this," Carly said, "I can't even believe it right now."

"Believe what?" Olivia asked, coming in and shutting the door.

"Sonny survived," Carly said.

"What? Are you sure?" Olivia asked, "Where? How?"

"He washed up in a town called Nixon Falls," Carly said, "Kellie and Jax found him down there. Jax apparently had a hunch and was checking it out. He said Kellie actually found Sonny. He was working at a bar she went to while doing some stuff for the foundation."

"I can't even imagine just walking into a bar off the street and just finding Sonny," Olivia said, "What did Kellie have to say? I assume you talked to her too."

"Sonny wasn't the only one in Nixon Falls," Carly said, "Peter August was also there and he shot Kellie."

"Not my baby girl," Olivia said.

"Jason said, she'll be okay," Carly said, "I guess it was too close though. Peter tried to burn a building with people in it and…."

"Kellie probably didn't even think twice about stopping him," Olivia said, "Was anyone else hurt?"

"Just Peter," Carly said, "It's safe to say he is no longer among living."

"Thank heavens for small favors," Olivia said, "Not that I want to speak ill of the dead. What are you going to do now?"

"I want to go straight to Sonny," Carly said, "But Jason wants me to stay put. He's was already on his way after Kellie told him about Sonny. He says it's too dangerous since he and Johnny think an enemy might have been behind Sonny not being identified. With Peter being involved somehow…."

"It sounds like a pretty big mess," Olivia said, "As much as I want to go straight to Nixon Falls with you and see Kellie's alright for myself, I think we have other things to worry about here. Like telling the kids about Sonny and their sister before it hits the news."

Nixon Falls Police Department Conference Room

Anna and McBain were setting up a video call with Robert and Mac when Valentin walked in.

"About you time you showed up?" Robert said from the screen.

"At least I'm in the field instead of behind a desk," Valentin replied.

"Boys, play nice," Anna said as Frisco and his agents walked in.

"Don't I always?" Frisco greeted them.

Robert and Max scoffed.

"What are the four of you in kindergarten or something?" McBain asked, "We obviously need to coordinate regarding this insane convergence of events. So I'll go first if that's all right with you, Devane?"

"Please," Anna said.

"D.A. Scorpio, Mac," McBain said, "The FBI sent me to investigate why Sonny Corinthos was never identified in Nixon Falls when he washed up from the river. When Agent Devane requested the fingerprint databases be checked to see if any requests had been run, it was discovered record of the request had been erased. Our digital experts determined the request had been made by the Nixon Falls chief of police, Randall Crowe. In my interview with Crowe, he admitted to helping his brother, Elijah Crowe, use illegal means to force small business owners to sell or leave Nixon falls. He also said that one of Eljiah's businesses partners was Cyrus Renault. Crowe claims Renault has been blacking mailing him into covering up Sonny Corinthos's identity and more recently delaying the police response to Agent Devane's request for assistance as well as ignore Kellie Corintho's and Johnny O'Brien initial calls to report Peter Augusts whereabouts."

"Randall Crowe volunteered all that information?" Frisco asked, "Of his own free will."

"Apparently, screwing up Cyrus Renault's orders means death according to Crowe," McBain said, "He's angling for witness protection."

"He's not wrong," Robert said.

"As McBain has gotten confirmation of the connection between Elijah Crowe and Cyrus Renault," Valentin said, "I'll go next. I'd reached out to some of my contacts to see what connections there were between Port Charles and Nixon Falls. Given that Sonny Corinthos's identity appeared to be kept secret intentionally and a shipment of donations from Port Charles was discovered to have drugs, it seemed wise to check."

"Can you get to the point, Valentin?" Mac asked.

"I'm sure most of us remember Cassandra Pierce," Valentin said, "Elijah was high up in Cassandra's organization before he decided to branch out on his own. If you'll all check your e-mails, I've sent you photos of Elijah, Cassandra, and Cyrus all meeting at different times. My contact is looking more into those connections. But the running theory is the three were forming a partnership to take over the eastern seaboard."

"When Cassandra Pierce died, Cyrus picked up where she left off," Mac said.

"My contact suspect that Cyrus was supposed to stay on the west coast," Valentin said, "His transfer to Pentonville took place shortly after her death."

"We've already put out an arrest warrant for Cyrus," Robert said, "We finally got a match on the drugs in the harbor, the drugs being developed at GH, and the drugs found in the Crossing Into Dawn donations."

"You have enough for a warrant?" McBain asked, "Seems to me that Renault could say that someone working for him did all that and it wasn't him."

"He messed up," Mac said, "Put pressure on a volunteer at Crossing Into Dawn who helps with getting donations ready which has also included access to the purchasing warehouse. When Lorenzo Alcazar heard Kellie's bullet proof vest didn't do its job, he went looking for connections between the people who prepare the donations and also have access to purchasing anything for the foundation. Kellie gets her vests from one of the foundations' suppliers for their rescue operations. They ship hers to the foundation."

"He didn't have to look very hard," Robert said, "Once word got out Kellie had been shot and Lorenzo was asking questions, the volunteer came into the station and confessed his role in putting drugs in the shipments and replacing Kellie's vests with faulty ones."

"So Cyrus Renault was planning to take a shot at Kellie Corinthos," Frisco said, "But how does Peter August fit into all this? How did he end up in Nixon Falls to begin with. Right now it looks like a coincidence."

"It's unlikely," Valentine said, "I did not have the opportunity to take Kellie's statement while I was at the hospital. The doctors and Jason Morgan weren't letting that happen yet. However, Morgan did say Kellie told him that Peter mentioned Cyrus sending her his regrets."

"Maybe Cyrus was the one to help Peter leave Port Charles," Anna said, "and he called in a favor to Peter when he knew Kellie was headed down there. Of course that's all speculation without evidence of a call between them or something else to back up Kellie's statement."

"But why burn down a bar and take two people hostage?" Mac asked, "Sonny wouldn't have remembered him and the hostages I can't imagine would have recognized him. How was involving other people necessary for Peter instead of waiting to go after Kellie when she was alone."

"One of the hostages did recognize Peter August," Frisco said, "Nina Reeves."

"Did you say Nina Reeves?" Robert asked

"She's been in Nixon Falls for months," Frisco said, "According to Nina, Peter was blackmailing her into helping him find my granddaughter since she decided not to notify anyone Sonny Corinthos was in Nixon Falls."

"Wait, what?" Mac said, "She's known Sonny was alive?"

"Why wouldn't she tell anyone that as well as that Peter August in Nixon Falls?" Robert asked.

"I highly doubt it's relevant to the case," Valentin said, "likely personal."

"She developed feelings for Sonny and thought he was happier her," Frisco said, "Or some sob story like that."

"So she decided not to tell him or his family that he was alive?" McBain replied, "You what never mind."

"We're going to have to call this meeting short," Mac said, "We've got a report of gun shots at a warehouse near Pier 55 with one person shot."
