The trolls had came to the city of Trolberg, for tonight was an important event for both the city and the trolls. It was the Night of The Trolls. The time of year, once every March 3rd, where the bells would be silent and the trolls would be allowed to enter the city and hear the voice of their ancestor, Amma, the mother and grandmother of trolls. The trolls have entered the city and began to wander around the city streets while people stood behind large fences for caution as they watched the trolls walk through the streets. It was truly a sight to be hold.

But away in another spot in the city, was a man wearing a dark cloak in a nearby alley, he was watching the trolls from in the alley and was hiding behind a dumpster, making a glare at the trolls. Because for what he's up to tonight is something sinister. Reaching into his pocket, the mysterious man in the cloak pulled out a few pieces of Joff nuts, a type of peanuts that Trolls crave for. The man in the dark cloak held out the nuts out with his hand and one troll stopped walking with the others, turning to the alley the man was hiding in. The troll was one of those trolls who had only a circular shaped body and no arms, and only legs.

So taking out this troll won't be hard. The troll took a big sniff and began to walk down the alley, following the smell of the Joff nuts. The troll just kept walking deep in the alley and turned to the direction of the dumpster, where the man in the cloak then dropped the Joff nuts to the ground, where the troll immediately began to chomp on the nuts. The troll just finished eating the nuts and then looked back up at the mysterious man in the cloak, becoming shocked and made wide eyes from seeing a knife in his hands.

?: Don't take this personal.

The troll didn't have much time before the mysterious man in the cloak swung his knife in a quick motion and stabbed the troll's head. The troll squirmed and it's legs moved fast, but a second later the legs stopped moving. The troll's eyes widen and it's mouth hung open. The troll was dead. The man launched the knife out of the troll's head and the troll's lifeless body fell to the ground in the alley. All that was left was the mysterious figure in the cloak picking up the troll's legs, then dragging it down the alley, planning to finally complete his final trick.

It was the very next day in the city of trolberg and Hilda was wandering through the city streets while wearing her traditional sparrow scout uniform. She had a wagon behind her, which she was dragging and was filled with lots of stuff for donations. Twig was even with Hilda, next to her and trotting with her down the sidewalk. The reason why Hilda was out was because she was determined to collect another badge, the same badge that she tried to earn when the Black Hound came to Trolberg, but failed because she was busy talking with Nisse.

But that was in the past, this is the future. There was no way Hilda was gonna waste this opportunity again. This time, no more distractions, no none of that, only stay focus of getting the new badge. Hilda and Twig walked to a red brick house and ran the doorbell, where a middle aged man answered. Hilda said her lines for sparrow scout requesting any sparrow scout donations, and the man went away and came back with a pair of soccer cleats for donation. Hilda thanked the man and walked away with Twig.

Hilda: Okay, Twig. We've finished up this neighborhood. So where to it next?

Twig just only tilted his head and made a noise that sounded like confusion. Hilda then reached into her pocket and pulled out a map of the neighborhood she was going through, opening it and crossing out the house she visited with a pencil on her ear. Whence that was finished, Hilda looked at the map and saw how she got almost every house on the block, an X means it was a donation, while an circle was no donation. Hilda had about 12 donations out of 23 houses. Hilda needed to step up more. Hilda and Twig began look around for a house where they could really get a quality donation.

Hilda kept looking around until she saw something through the city's gate, where the friendly neighborhood she was was close to the city's eastern exit. Out of the gate was a house, an old house that stood directly next to the wall on the outside of the city. Hilda could see the house through the city gate open, before checking the map and realizing that she's not been to that house just yet. Hilda and Twig looked at each other for a moment and looked back at the house outside the city gate, wondering if it was worth it. Well, the sun was out and the trolls seemed to be away from the house, it would only take a moment anyways.

Twig and Hilda, with Hilda towing the wagon behind her, rushed to the city gate, before exiting the city for just only a moment. Hilda and Twif had passed through the city gates and rushed over to the only house that stood next to the wall. They saw from a distance a door knocker with a vulture on top for a feature. Hilda and Twig saw the old house and saw it was red bricks, had 2 floors, a turret in the left corner, and a wooden porch with old leaves and sticks on. Hilda and Twig walked to the house's front door and Hilda carefully took the door knocker, knocking it 3 times. Hilda then let go and she and Twig just stood there waiting, while the wagon filled of donations stood behind them.

After a minute of waiting, Hilda used the door knocker once again, knocking the door again 3 times. Hilda and Twig stood there again and there was no answer. Hilda looked to the left and saw an old car parked in front of the house and it was in perfect condition, meaning it belonged to someone. Hilda and Twig looked back at the door once more before thinking that no one was home. But the moment Twig and Hilda turned back, they heard the door creak open and they turned back. There in the door way of the old house they saw an old man, a really old man. He had no hair, white skin, a long white beard, and seemed to be in his mid 90s. He was also wearing a blue robe on his whole body. The old man looked down at Hilda and Twig with a cheerful smile and Hilda stood back to face him, like a polite person.

Hilda: Hello, mister.

Old Man: Hello there, sweetheart. It's good to see a guest.

Hilda: It seems. Anyway, my name is Hilda and I'm with the sparrow scout collecting donations.

Old Man: Hm. I remember them.

Hilda: Great. So, do you have any donations?

Old Man: Hm. Let me see.

Old man turned back for a second and walked back into his house, turning into another room. Hilda, out of curiosity, peeked inside the house and saw only a hallway with a set of stairs leading up, even an entry to another next to the stairs. After a few seconds, the old man came walking back into the hallway to the front door with his walking cane in one hand, with something in the other. Hilda watched as the man walked up to her and hold out the item for donation. Hilda and Twig saw it and were amazed it to be a blue small crystal ball. Hilda took it with both hands from the old man carefully before looking back at him.

Hilda: This is amazing! Are you sure you don't need it? It looks great.

Old Man: Oh, I don't need it. Not anymore. Take it, for your donation.

Hilda: Well, okay, if you insist. Goodbye.

Old Man: Goodbye.

Hilda then turned back with Twig and they to the steps, but before Hilda walked down, the Old Man secretly reached out his empty hand grabbed a thread of Hilda's blue hair, taking a piece without her knowing as she and Twig walked down the steps, putting the crystal ball in the wagon, and leaving with the wagon in tow. The Old Man watched as Hilda and Twig walked back to the city gate until they entered through, before the old man went back inside and closed the door softly. The old held the blue hair up to his face and soon made a sinister smile, walking down the hallway to the stairs.

The old man walked up all the stairs and turned right, walking down another hallway with the window at the end. Reaching the end of the hallway, the old man turned around and waved his finger, making a set of steps fall from the ceiling and opening up to the house's attic. The old man then let out a devious laugh as he walked up the steps into the attic, and closed the steps when reaching the top with the wave of his finger. Up inside the attic was the old man's real work. The man walked across the attic and switched on a lamp.

Old Man: Time to work.

In the attic was the Old Man's worst things. There was a large black cauldron in the center of the working spot, a bookshelf in the left corner with a ton of books, a counter with a ton of bottles and beakers filled with liquids, a trunk locked shut, and a bunch of pots and jugs on a table filled with things on the right.

Old Man: Now. It's time!

This Old Man was not an ordinary man, this man is sinister. Balthazar. The evil wizard and scourge of the witches of trolberg. Balthazar is known for only scandalous act. Tricks. But bad kind of tricks. Balthazar would turn people into all kinds creatures for the fun of it, like vittras, deerfoxes, salt lions, giants, nisse, and thunderbirds. But Trolls was never something he's been able to do before. But last night, last night during the Night of the trolls, he was able to lure a troll away from everyone and killed it.

Balthazar then walked to the trunk and said a magic, opening the trunk and seeing a troll dead inside. Balthazar reached inside and pulled out the dead troll's nose he cut off, all ready. Balthazar then proceeded to walk to the cauldron and pulled out red powder from his pocket, sprinkling it into the cauldron and making it light up. Soon the cauldron lit up bright up red and Balthazar immediately laughed like a pure madman. It was time for his next step. Balthazar used magic with a wave from his finger and made bottles of potions come to him.

Balthazar: Yes...yes...

Balthazar then used magic to pour the liquids in all at once and it sparkled like crazy. Then Balthazar pulled the very last ingredient for this wacky trick, the very same blue hair he took from Hilda from behind. Balthazar then dropped the blue hair into the bubbling cauldron, making it fizz like crazy. Balthazar then peeked into the cauldron and saw images, images of memories. Memories of Hilda. Balthazar saw memories of Hilda, memories of her hanging out with people and doing adventures, filled with people she's come into contact with. Then Balthazar waved his hands over the cauldron and began to chant the following magic words for this wicked trick.

Balthazar: Yes...Danno! Malak! Cortak!...Danno! Malak! Cortak!...DANNO! MALAK! CORTAK!

Soon a loud poof exploded from cauldron and gray and red smoke poofed from the cauldron. Balthazar just stood back and watched with a diabolical smile. He had done it! Balthazar then stepped back to admire his work. He had done it!

Balthazar: Yes! YES! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Balthazar then began to laugh like a madman and raised his hands in dominance for victory. Balthazar just kept laughing as his face turned red from the cauldron' red flashes and then suddenly, he stopped laughing and soon coughing. But this wasn't an ordinary cough, this was a really bad cough. Balthazar suddenly fell to his knees on the floor and went into a big coughing fit, covering his mouth as heavily coughed and hacked hardly. Balthazar then coughed so harshly and violently until he finally stopped. Balthazar took a few moments to catch his breath and wiped tears in his eyes from coughing so much. Balthazar sat on his knees for a few more moments and he stood up, completely calm.

Balthazar: Uh...I need to rest my eyes...and lay down..

Balthazar then turned back and walked to the steps of the attic, down to the second floor of the house. Walking down, Balthazar used his magic to lift the steps back up and walked down the hallway, going into another room on the right. Entering his bedroom, Balthazar went to the bed and laid down, pulled the cover over him, and laid his head on the pillow, closing his eyes shut. The truth is, Balthazar was not doing so good. He was sick. He's had a terrible sickness that's made him not in great health.

In fact, Balthazar was dying from this. He was sick and is gonna perish from this world, and also because he was an old man. But Balthazar, being clever and resourceful, was not gonna die on a whim. So he decided to pull of a trick, a huge one he never been able to pull off. Turning someone into a troll. In past he's never been able to turn any of his victims into trolls because he needs troll flesh. But last night he captured a troll by luring it with Joff nuts, then killed it and used it's nose for the spell.

Then Balthazar needed a victim, a target to turn anyone into a troll. But then the blue haired girl showed up, asking for a donation from the sparrow scouts. She was the perfect target and enough for Balthazar to find in time, in time for him to leave this pitiful life. Balthazar just laid in bed and looked up at the ceiling, seeing the dried wall that made the ceiling's foundation, while thinking about the looks on the victims' faces when they wake up and realize they won't be themselves ever again.

But what was also Balthazar thinking about was when Hilda wakes up to find herself a troll, she won't remember a thing. It's happened to every single one of his victims, as a way of getting away with his tricks. Now his trick is done, he's accomplished his goal and there's no going back, right before death. Balthazar then just closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, before drifting off to sleep. But unknown to him, this would be the very time he closed his eyes. The very final time he close his eyes.

It was the next day. The very next day when Hilda had gone to Balthazar's house for donations. She had returned the donations to Raven Leader, who recorded Hilda's donations. Hilda then went home with Twig and called in a night. Now it was a new day, a new day in everyone's daily lives. Johanna had woken up from a long 9 hour sleep and tried to open her eyes, but whence she did, she couldn't see a thing. Johanna just only saw nothing but pitch black darkness.

Johanna was super confused. What was going? Why was everything so dark? It wasn't occasionally you'd wake up to find utter pitch black, so this had to be a first time thing. Johanna then tried to life up her arms, in hopes that she'll find out what's wrong. But when Johanna tried to move them, they couldn't. Johanna couldn't move her arms. She tired to with all her might, but nothing worked. Johanna was beginning to freak all the way. She couldn't see, couldn't move her arms, what was going on?!

As Johanna began tried to move with her might, while beginning to freak out, until she realized something. As Johanna tried to move around, she felt something that could move. Her toes were wiggling. Her feet, her legs, her lower body. It could could move fine under the blankets. Johanna felt her fears and worries begin to die down at this, realizing this could work. Johanna then began to move her feet around, feeling soft fabric underneath, realizing she's on her bed. Johanna then moved her foot around and felt her foot reach the edge of the bed, dangling over.

Johanna then thought it as a way of escape. With all her might, Johanna proceeded to move her foot across the bed until it reached the edge on the right side, before she moved herself across the bed by nudging her foot on the bed side. Johanna just kept moving until she finally feet her left foot dangling over the edge of the bed. With both feet over the edge, Johanna began to move herself towards the edge of the bed by nudging her feet against the bed, moving herself closer to the edge with all her might.

Johanna just kept going and going until she felt her lower body reaching the edge of the bed, before she finally felt her feet touch the floor, feeling soft carpet on the floor. Johanna then moved her body by moving herself off the bed and soon her knees hit the floor, and Johanna allowed herself to hit the floor in general. Johanna heard a thudding noise, like the sound of rock hitting the floor, and Johanna's upper body seemed heavy to move. She wanted to holler Hilda for help, but she couldn't seem to move her mouth and talk either.

But all of a sudden, Johanna heard the sound of rocks cracking and crumbling, feeling something on her face. Johanna then felt something crumble off her face, neck, chest, and arms. Johanna just stood still for a moment when suddenly she saw light beam through. Then after a few moments Johanna was able to see fine, seeing the top of her ceiling. Johanna then immediately began to take deep breaths, because she felt like she was suffocating for a second. Johanna then finished breathing and rubbed her eyes, but feeling rock crumble for some reason when brushing.

Johanna then began to brush her upper body and face of rock rumble, but as she did, she began to feel something on her body that made her blood run cold, for she felt the same kind of troll skin that Johanna felt when Hilda was a troll. Johanna slowly looked down and saw with shock grey trollish skin, making her blood run cold. Johanna wasn't wearing any clothes either, but had a troll body. Johanna then went to touch her nose and felt a pointy one. She couldn't believe it. Johanna was a troll.

Johanna: What...WHAT IS GOING ON!
