Disclaimer: I do not own Bakugan

So this is just a fun little one shot that I came up. This was kind of even brought on in the show. For example when Runo and Marucho dodged Shun's grandfathers attack by going to the battlefield. Or Preyas and Marucho cooking in the battlefield too. But yeah I just wanted a fun little oneshot to just show a scenario of abusing this power. And who knows maybe this could become even a series of oneshots. But now let's get into it.

A man in his mid 30s was sitting in his chair, staring at the computer. His name was John and he was a project manager working at a large software company and right now the project he was working on, had gone overbudget and was severly behind the schedule. And he knew that the company leadership was expecting results soon, or he would be fired.

Which is why even after leaving the office, he was still working on that project at home. But even with that, the project wasn't advancing fast enough, and with the deadline approaching sooner and sooner, he was afraid that his time working at the company was limited.

All of a sudden the door of his home office opened. And in came a young kid. "Dad you promised to play Bakugan with me." The kid who was the son of John said, in the late hours of evening.

Had John promised his son, that he would play Bakugan with him? Well he sure couldn't remember, from all the stress working so long had brought him. Which only made him feel even worse, because of how he was neglecting his son because of his work. "I'm sorry but I can't play Bakugan with you." He said to his son, even though it pained for him to say that, for probably the thousanth time.

"But you promised he said." His son argued.

This made John feel like the worst parent. A part of him cursed this project, while an another part cursed Bakugan. He still remembered the day when these cards started raining down everywhere. He thought it was a big marketing stunt made by the company behind the game. And from the looks of it, this marketing stunt was a very succesful one. His son had become addicted to the game and he knew many parents whose children were also addicted to the game. He even bought his son one of those expensive Bakupod devices as a birthday present, after he begged for one for months.

"I'm sorry, but I just can't play with you. I need to focus on work and I don't have time to play games with you." John once again explained to his son.

"Time? But a game of Bakugan is over in a flash." His son said, and that made John realize he had never ever actually have seen a game of Bakugan, even though that game had basically consumed his kids life. "Just one game please, I promise it won't take long." His son once again begged him.

For once in his life John decided to give in. Maybe playing a short game with his son, would finally allow him to destress a little from working almost constantly, even after hours at home. "Alright son, but only one game." He said to his son who responded with a big yippee and rushed out of the room.

Soon his son came back with cards and from what John gathered marbles. First his son gave him one specific card. Then he moved on and gave him a stack of three cards. "These are gate cards." And then his son gave him another stack of three cards. "These are ability cards." And finally he handed him three different marbles, which were all different colors. With one of them being red, one blue and one green. "These are the Bakugans." His son explained to his overwhelmed father whose hands had gotten very full.

John was overwhelmed from all this information and it seemed this short game, was much more complicated than he thought it would be. But for his son, he wanted to learn how to play it. "So how do we start the game?" John asked his son.

"Oh it's easy. Take the card I gave you first. The card that's not a gate card or ability card. And hold it." John obliged and put his gate cards and ability cards in his pocket. While only holding his Bakugan card. "Then we start the game by both turning the cards and saying field open." His son explained again and John tried to understand some of what he was saying.

"So do we start now?" The very confused John asked.

"Yes." His son replied. "Field open." He said and turned his card which started to glow yellow.

"Ohhh field open." The confused John mimicked his son and did the same.

And then the magic around John started happening. As a weird symbol appeared under him. And the clock in his wall started to slow down and down. And the bird flying outside started slowing down then. And then he was transported to a different place, that was completely foreign to him. A place his son called "the battlefield".

What ended up ensuing was a magical experience. With John having a real Bakugan battle for the first time in his life. And he found out that Bakugan was a lot more than a simple card game with some marbles involved. Instead it was a game about using beasts, that seemed just outwordly, and pitting them against each other. And these cards were used to make them more powerful and turning the battle to your advantage.

When the battle finally ended though. (which he lost) The most spectacular thing about Bakugan was then revealed to him. It wasn't the beasts or the cards or the battles. No. It was when John looked at the clock after the battle. And found out it was in the exact same position as it was before the battle. Even though it felt like the battle took at least good 20 minutes. But according to his clock time hadn't moved at all.

And then he realized this power could be used for a lot more than just battling.

The mood around the office was different than normally. Everyone in the office knew, that most of the times John was not in the good mood, because of how the project had been going. Either he would be stressed out or he would be in a very foul mood and would be quickly irritated. So most of the employees he was managing avoided him.

Yet today everyone noticed that John had been strangely happy... a mood that people hadn't seen him be in a long time.

At the end of the day John gathered everyone in the office floor.

"Alright. Tomorrow I want every one of you to bring one of these with you." He said and then fished out a Bakugan card from his pocket. "If you do not have one. I'm sure your children will have one. Every one of you must bring one of these to the office tomorrow."

And when next day came, at 9:10am John had gathered all of the employees that he managed in a big group.

"Alright everyone. Now hold your card forward. And make sure your other arm is carrying your work laptop." John said and looked around and made sure all of the workers were doing what he instructed. "And when I turn this card and say field open, I want all of you to do the same. Understood?" He asked and everyone nodded.

"Field open!" Everyone said at the same time.

And just like that all of them were transported to the battlefield and to most of them, this was a completely new experience to them. And most of them were very confused why they were in this place.

However John was the first to act when he sat down and opened his laptop. "Alright everyone. We will work here for many hours until it is your lunch time. Then you will have your lunch break and then we will all gather here once again and finish the day." He explained and soon the very confused workers began to just do their work.

John couldn't help but smile.

"Deadlines won't be an issue at all now."

And there. This is a fun little oneshot I had in mind. And again it might become a oneshot series on, how the time stopping ability of the Bakugan battlefield can be abused. So if you have any scenarios like that in mind, and you want to share them to me, tell me about that in a review. But besides that thank you for reading.
