Kyo, Chizuru, and Iori sat around a table at the college cafeteria. Chizuru sat across from Kyo and next to Iori, acting as a barrier to maintain peace. Iori was reading a music history book. Between Chizuru and Kyo laid a math textbook titled "Quantitative Reasoning." It was opened to Chapter 4 Section 6, "Volume and Surface Area."

Kyo pointed at one of the questions. "How do I do this one?"

Chizuru craned her neck and spun the book so she could read it. "'An architect wants to build an experimental cylindrical structure. If he wants to make the structure 100 feet tall and 50 feet in diameter, how much square footage of material does he need? Include the floor in your answer. Use 3.14 for pi." Chizuru nodded when she finished. "For this question, you need to find the surface area of a cylinder."

"How do I do that?"

"Well," Chizuru flipped to an empty page in her notebook and started drawing, "The surface area of a cylinder is made of two parts: the area of two circles and the area of a rectangle."

Kyo raised an eyebrow. "A rectangle?"

"That's right. A cylinder is just a rolled-up rectangle."

When Kyo looked at her with even greater confusion, Chizuru picked up a loose piece of paper and rolled it up, creating a hollow cylinder. "See?"

Kyo squinted at the paper cylinder for a while. Then, he looked up at Chizuru and spoke to her with complete confidence.

"I don't believe you."

Chizuru's jaw dropped. Iori covered his mouth to hide his laughter, trying to look invested in his book. All the while, Kyo still did not understand what was going on.
