Leo flashed Piper a huge smile after wondering where they'd be in twenty-three years, and she clocked that something was up immediately. "What's going on with you?" she questioned.

"What do you mean?" he asked, playing dumb.

"Leo Wyatt, you are flying completely high right now. Something else happened, didn't it?" Piper guessed.

Leo ducked his head and beamed so brightly it practically lit up the room. "Chris finally called me 'Dad' for the first time - he said it right after I broke him out of jail." He was so elated he didn't know where to put it all but he wasn't about to get his hopes up again. This was a giant baby step but he had to keep working hard to fix his relationship with his youngest son.

She gasped. "Oh, Leo. That's major progress. See, I told you it'd happen at some point - you just needed to get past Chris' walls and defenses. Keep at it," she encouraged, leaning over to lightly tap his shoulder.

Chris chose that moment to orb in, looking contrite. "Just wanted to see how you were doing, Mom," he sheepishly explained to Piper.

"Uh huh. And how was jail?" she teased.

Leo snorted, ignoring the glare Chris sent him. "It fucking sucked, that's how jail is. But sorry?" Chris tried.

"Well, just don't let it happen again, or I'll ground you," Piper teasingly threatened. She gestured towards Leo. "Somebody want to help me up?"

Leo stood up and grabbed her hand, getting Piper to her feet within a minute. "You good?" he checked.

Piper rolled her eyes as she made her way over to Chris to hug her son. "You seem good," she observed, checking him over to make sure he truly was okay.

"I'm fantastic," Chris assured her. He glanced over at Leo. "You want to get something to eat and then head home, Dad? According to my Underworld contacts, there's a new demon on the rise and we're going to need Phoebe and Paige's help to vanquish them."

Piper's eyes widened as Leo flushed. "Sure, that sounds great, bud. You want anything, Piper?"

"Nah, I'm fine. You two go and have fun, though." Anxious to see how this latest development played out, she urged them both to leave since she and Wyatt would be fine. She worried a little about this new demon but knew they could handle themselves - she trusted them.

Her two guys orbed out and she felt a lot more at ease knowing that something had shifted between Chris and Leo today. It was a step in the right direction, and that was all Piper could ask for.
