Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Sailor Stars: Rebirth
Act 8: The Battle Rages On
Sora Kazeno
Usagi arrives at school surprisingly early and finds Ami closing her shoe locker. "Were you able to find anything Ami-chan?" She wants this to be over as soon as possible and all of her friends safe.
"I'm sorry, nothing has changed since we left Crown yesterday." Ami apologizes, she feels like she is letting everyone down when she isn't able to provide any further information. "I'm surprised to see you here so early." Ami comments with a smile.
Usagi's eyes lower slightly. "I had a hard time sleeping." She admits. "I was worried about the battle that is coming and it only led to nightmares." She tries to push the images to the side. "It was a blend of fighting Queen Beryl and Sailor Galaxia. I don't know how to describe it past that." She originally planned to keep it to herself but on some level she was too tired to care and talking about them in the past was the best way to help her. "As long as I don't fall asleep in class, right?" Usagi tries to sound a little cheerful to Ami so her friend won't worry about her.
"Morning." Minako greets the two girls. She isn't in her normal upbeat attitude. "Artemis was brainstorming how to stop a solar flare last night and he didn't come up with anything. He was up all night talking. I can barely keep my eyes open." Minako doesn't bother trying to hide the large yawn.
"Hi everyone," Makoto appears next to the other girls holding a green bag tied at the top with a pink ribbon. "I couldn't sleep, so I baked a bunch of sweets for lunch."
Usagi stares at the bag, drool forming in the corner of her mouth at the thought of the sweets.
Makoto puts the bag away to keep them safe from Usagi. "They will still be there later."
Usagi pouts slightly.
"We have to go to class or we'll be late…" Ami tries to redirect Usagi's attention.
Ami walks off to her class while Makoto, Usagi, and Minako enter their classroom.
Usagi looks around the classroom and notices several of the seats are still empty, including the ones for the Three Lights. She frowns, are they up to something too? Before she can think it over too much, the Three Lights enter the classroom and sit down in their appropriate seats.
Seiya opens his mouth to greet Usagi but instead he yawns. He clears his throat slightly. "Sorry. Yesterday was really long."
Usagi nods her head and glances at the other members of the Three Lights. Yaten has his head down in his arms trying to nap at his desk. Taiki's eyes are half closed, but he is somehow awake. They are all exhausted.
Minako leans over slightly to talk to Yaten. "You couldn't sleep either?"
Yaten sighs and sits up slowly. There is no way he is going to be able to catch up on sleep at this rate. "We were trying to find the area of Tokyo where the premonitions took place. Do you have any idea how many buildings are in this city?" He is irritated they ran around all night and have nothing to show for it. They aren't any closer than they were yesterday morning.
"Too many," Seiya adds rubbing his forehead. It's going to be a long day.
Taiki turns to Makoto, "Did Mizuno-kun gather any new information?"
Makoto shakes her head. "No. She is going to try again at lunch to see if anything has changed."
Taiki had hoped for a different response but there is nothing he can do at the moment. "Hopefully there will not be a solar flare for the rest of the day." Before he can say anything else, the teacher enters the classroom to begin daily lessons.
Massive amounts of dark purple energy swirl over the powder snow. Sailor Saturn lowers her glaive. As soon as the bottom makes contact with the snow, a large explosion of energy is seen, followed by a booming sound. Then silence.
As the energy clears, all the youma in the vicinity lie on the ground, turning to dust. Sailor Saturn clutches her glaive tightly, using it to keep her balance as she breathes heavily.
Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune stare at the young girl. They had known she was powerful but had never witnessed so much of her raw power first hand. This wasn't her full potential, she held back. Her full attack would have cost her life.
Sailor Pluto slowly walks over to her.
Sailor Saturn can't keep her balance anymore and collapses to one knee. The skin scrapping against the rocky material the snow once covered. All snow that was within her blast radius is gone. The other three senshi made sure they were clear of the attack before it was executed. She looks up to see all three of them approaching her. "I'm going to need a few minutes before I can continue on." Her body isn't as weak as it used to be but she is not used to straining her powers this way.
Sailor Pluto reaches her first and kneels down next to her. "Save your energy Hotaru. The real battle still awaits us." She smiles softly. "Thank you for stopping them before they could overpower us."
Sailor Uranus looks in the distance for a moment before turning to her partner. "We're going to go ahead and make sure there is nothing else waiting for us. Join us when you are ready."
"We have to keep moving," Sailor Neptune echoes Sailor Uranus' remarks a moment ago. Without another word exchanged the two senshi walk off.
Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn watch the two senshi in the stillness as they grow smaller the further they walk. "This battle is far from over." Sailor Pluto finally speaks.
Sailor Saturn narrows her black eyes. "What we faced so far is nothing compared to what is waiting for us." Her voice waivers before she continues. "I believe I've seen a glimpse of what Rei-san and the Starlights have seen."
The emerald green haired senshi turns to her companion. "Then we must do everything in our power to make sure what they witnessed does not happen."
Ami's fingers tap quickly on the keyboard. She is anxious for any information. She checked the data on the solar flares first and there are no significant changes but it doesn't mean they are out of the woods yet. On a whim, she searches D Point for any other changes and nearly drops her sandwich from her right hand. She struggles to swallow the remaining bite as anxiety flares. "I've picked up a massive spike in energy at D Point."
Makoto leans over trying to make sense of the data on Ami's screen. "What does that mean?"
Ami places her half eaten sandwich back into bento box. "I don't know yet. It is scanning for more information and then it will take a few minutes to analyze everything." She stares intently at the screen for any sign of what the energy sources mean; she fears it is related to the solar flares.
Usagi shifts anxiously on the grass. "I have a bad feeling about this." All of her teammates are exhausted today since they were up late trying to find a way to stop Queen Beryl. She tried to force herself to go to sleep early and was only rewarded with a nightmare.
Taiki pulls out a color screen and places it over his eyes for a moment. Normally it is used to view a solar eclipse but today it might be just as effective to examine the Sun for any noticeable changes. He stares at the Sun for a few moments through the darkened screen. "Nothing seems different."
Minako wipes the sweat off her forehead. "It seems a lot hotter outside than what they were predicting this morning when my mother had the news on." She looks at the others.
Seiya pulls at the collar around his neck. "It does seem a bit warmer out than yesterday. Is this normal for this time of the year?"
"No," Makoto immediately responds, starting to piece a few things together.
Yaten finishes the last bit of his beef bowl. "Maybe it has already started and we didn't realize it."
Ami's computer beeps several times. Her fingers are shaking when she types a few commands on the keyboard. She gasps as her eyes turn wide in shock. She opens her mouth to speak but no sound comes out at first. She swallows and tries again. "Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn are at D Point. There is… or was a large buildup of negative energy around them. I can't tell how old these readings are; if they are current or from a few hours ago." She looks up from her computer to her friends. "We have to help them."
Makoto is more angry than concerned for her teammates at the moment, "why did they go back there on their own?" Her fists shake. "They know how dangerous it is."
"How are we supposed to help them when we are stuck at school?" Minako asks the others. Once school is in session, it is very difficult to just up and leave early. They would have been better off ditching the entire day.
Yaten doesn't understand what the big deal is to Minako since he has left school early multiple times due to his idol status without an issue. He just has to make up the work. "We just have to find a way to end the school day for everyone or just leave early."
Taiki turns sharply at Yaten. "How? It's not like before, we don't have scheduled events to prepare for and the manager always informed the school of official events."
Seiya shrugs. "I'm sure we can come up with some of kind of excuse." He makes it sound like it is an easy task.
Usagi clutches her brooch with her right hand. "I don't think we need an excuse anymore." Her eyes focus on Polaris accompanied by several youma.
Minako turns to Usagi, "what are you talking about?" She is focused on her friend rather than her surroundings.
Ami sees a warning on her computer. She looks up and gasps, materializing her wand at the same time.
The sight of a blue crystal wand shifts the others demeanor and they finally look in the direction Usagi has been staring for the past minute.
Usagi continues to feel frozen in place. How can she fight at the school? The last time this happened Sailor Lead Crow nearly took her starseed and she was sucked into a black hole. If it wasn't for Chibi Chibi, she would still be in the void.
"This might solve the school issue," Makoto comments with a smile tugging at the corner of her lips, her own transformation wand ready. "But this is going to make it more difficult to help Haruka-san and the others."
Ami closes her computer. "One problem at a time. Once the school is safe we can help them."
The youmas attack students nearby and begin draining their energy. The students that are not trapped in vines scream and flee the grounds, heading back inside, or hiding behind trees or bushes.
Minako glares at the youma and Polaris. The school grounds are clearing out fast. Those that had their energy drained are unconscious on the ground. "This is the last time someone is going to attack us at school." The group looks at each other before they scatter to various areas to transform without any onlookers.
Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus return first.
"Jupiter Oak Evolution!"
"Venus Love and Beauty Shock!"
They attack in unison as the energy injures the youma closest to them, but not quite enough to destroy it.
Polaris laughs at their feeble effort. "I'm not sure what the two of you alone hope to accomplish." Her laugh is cut short when she has to dodge several bolts of bright light in purple, yellow, and blue.
She whips around to the glare at the Sailor Starlights. She eyes them carefully. "You are very different from the other senshi, why?"
Sailor Star Healer smirks at her. "You can find out after we stop you." She lowers her hand and a bright star appears in it, a sign is about to attack again.
"You're strong, but you'll have to do better than that!" Polaris launches her own attack at the Starlights. She forgets the other two senshi fighting the small army of red youmas and focuses on her new targets.
Usagi and Ami were separated from the others and are struggling to rejoin them. The path they chose turned out to be one a lot of other students selected as well. The two girls need the other students to leave so they can transformation.
"This is a problem," Ami whispers to Usagi. Her eyes frantically looking for a spot they can transformation. Several times the two of them tried to move away from the group but someone always saw them and yelled at them to rejoin the group since it's too dangerous to be out there alone.
The side door opens to the school. "Hurry inside to grab your things. The principal is dismissing classes for the day and leave out the front entrance," A short brunette teacher instructs them. They are fortunate the attack is behind the school, leaving a clear path for students to escape. "Classes are suspended for the rest of the day."
As students gather around the door, Ami and Usagi are finally able to slip out of their sight. They wait until the side door closes.
"At least we will have the break we needed from school," Usagi smiles at Ami. One obstacle was over.
Ami nods her head. "We still have a long way to go before we can help Haruka-san and the others." She glances around one more time to make sure no other students are around before they transform. "Mercury Crystal Power, Make Up!"
"Moon Eternal, Make Up!"
Sailor Moon is about to run to the other side of the school to help the others.
"Wait," Sailor Mercury grabs her arm with her left hand. She taps her earring with her right hand to summon her visor to scan the area. "I just want to make sure the path is clear."
Sailor Moon relaxes her stance slightly and summons her wand. She knows she is going to need it, the only question is when.
"The reading is almost done." Sailor Mercury examines the data. "It looks like we have the youma cluster and Polaris. No one else." She turns to Sailor Moon. "Let's go save our school."
"Where are Ami-chan and Usagi-chan?" Sailor Venus asks. She is standing next to Sailor Jupiter and the Starlights. "They should be here by now." Concern starts to creep in something happened to them.
"You should worry about yourselves." Polaris attacks all five of the senshi. While the senshi scatter to avoid the attack, she glances at the Sun. "It won't be much longer now until this is all over and the real funs begins." She smiles. Soon her time on this planet will be over and she can return back to her master.
A large army of youma appears behind Polaris, just as she planned. Have a few youma to make the senshi over confident and then summon the rest. The youma fan out, surrounding the five senshi pushing the senshi closer together.
Sailor Star Healer looks in both directions, nothing but youma. "I have a bad feeling about this."
"It doesn't happen at the school," Sailor Star Marker comments quietly to the two Starlights next to her. "We would have recognized the surroundings immediately."
"We're not going to let anything happen to the others," Sailor Star Fighter holds her hand over her head, ready to attack at any second.
Mamoru collects his books and notebooks after his last class of the day. He feels uneasy since the discussion yesterday about the solar flares. He checked a school computer during his break between classes but there were not any updates since last night.
Checking his watch, he realizes he still has a few hours until Usako is done with school. He plans to meet her at the front gate to make sure she is safe. He uses the extra time he has to return to the computer lab for updates on the solar flares. Instead he finds a news bulletin to stay away from the Juuban High School area.
He clicks on the link to read the bulletin. It is a warning of a disturbance at or near the school. It is a breaking story and there are no further details. Dread fills him; it is exactly what he thought it would be. He grabs his books heading toward his car. He deposits his books on the seat next to him and starts the engine; ready to floor it out of the parking garage when a classmate flags him down, waving at him frantically.
With a sigh of frustration he rolls down the window. "What's going on?"
"There is a car stuck at the entrance and it's going to be a few hours. They are telling everyone to leave their car here for the night." A male student tells him and puts on his motorcycle helmet. "Unless you took a motorcycle today, you're not going to be able to make it out."
Mamoru grips the steering wheel tightly for a few seconds and then shuts off his car. "Thanks for letting me know," He answers politely. He unbuckles his seatbelt when he feels the tingle at the back of his neck. Usako just transformed into Sailor Moon. It is exactly what he thought would happen. He can't waste any more time. He slams his car door, pausing just long enough to lock it.
He starts to run to the stairs of the parking garage, a red rose in hand.
Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto, and Sailor Saturn stop between the third and fourth crystal monuments. Everything looks the same from their prior visit, an untouched battlefield. They had expected to find more youma based on their encounter when they first arrived.
After Sailor Saturn unleashed her destructive power on the group at the beginning, the youmas had completely disappeared. They were sure they would find more. The more they destroy here, the fewer Queen Beryl will have at her disposable when she attacks Sailor Moon and the others. How could the ambush they faced before over so suddenly and with much of a struggle? Where did the other youma go?
"There were so many here this morning and now everything has just vanished," Sailor Uranus turns to her companions in anger. She feels like they are wasting their time not finding anything or anyone. "I feel like Saturn only stopped a fraction of them."
"Something happened," Sailor Neptune pauses. She closes her eyes. "I don't sense the evil presence I did this morning when we first arrived."
Sailor Uranus gasps lightly, turning to her partner. "Could it be Saturn did destroy all of them?"
"No," Sailor Saturn corrects her teammate. "There were weren't enough youma here to create such a powerful presence. A being that was very powerful left, or a lot of beings that were not very powerful are gone."
"Agreed." Sailor Pluto grips her staff tightly. "This is too easy to be over. We have to find them…" She looks around at the crystal monuments when an idea strikes her, causing her to gasp.
The other three senshi turn to stare at her, waiting for her continue.
"The Starlights mentioned the prophecy takes place somewhere in Tokyo. This was a distraction for us to come back here," Sailor Pluto explains, angry she did not see this sooner. "She wanted to lure us out here, away from the others."
"That has to be it. Why we can't sense anything here because they have gone to Tokyo to attack the Princess." Sailor Uranus looks at the others, anxious to return. "She knew we would return and the ambush was to give us a reason to stay longer."
Sailor Neptune watches her mirror closely. "Damn it!" She curses when she sees Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, and the Starlights being attacked by an army of youma. "We have to hurry!"
The four senshi gather together in a circle and hold hands.
Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury ran in the direction to where the other senshi were battling the youma only to be surrounded by another group of youma.
"I don't understand. How can so many suddenly show up and not be found on my visor?" Sailor Mercury gathers water in her hands to create a mist, hoping it will help them move past the youma. "Shabon Spray!"
"How many are there?" Sailor Moon clutches her wand tightly to her chest. She feels overwhelmed by the sheer number of youma. "We still have to help the others." She needs to try to focus otherwise someone is going to be hurt. She can't let that happen to the others because she was too scared to attack.
Sailor Mercury looks at the numbers in her visor. It was smaller than she originally anticipated. "Sailor Moon, I'm going to attack some of the youma and clear a path. We have to keep attacking straight in front of us." She explains the plan as simply as she can.
Sailor Moon nods her head, raising her wand above her head. "I'm ready." I can do this she tells herself.
"Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!"
"Moon Healing Escalation!
The senshi fought as hard as they could but it was not enough. All five senshi are trapped in red vines in the blink of an eye.
"I'm really starting to hate these things," Sailor Star Healer struggles against the vine. She remembers how quickly one absorbed some of her energy when her leg was caught during the first battle on Earth.
Sailor Star Fighter pulls at the vine around her wrist trying to loosen it just enough to attack. It's tighter than she thought.
Sailor Star Maker runs into the same issue. "They more we struggle against the vines, the tighter they become." She looks at the other senshi. "None of us are able to attack."
Sailor Jupiter smiles. "It's not going to work this time." Last time she was trapped in the vines, she wasn't transformed. She is the only senshi that can attack without her hands free. The antenna on her tiara rises higher. A sparkle of white lightly surrounds the antenna turning into the shape of lightening. As soon as enough is built up, she launches her attack. "Supreme Thunder!"
Bolts of lightning hit the vines that confine her. Within seconds Sailor Jupiter is free. "Jupiter." She summons her planetary symbol to use her strongest attack to free the others as fast as possible. But before she can finish her attack, Polaris strikes her with dark energy, knocking her off her feet.
"Don't plan on it being that easy." Polaris sneers, raising her hand to gather energy for another attack. She has to keep Sailor Jupiter busy while the vines absorb the energy of the others.
Four streaks of red fly through the air in front of the confined senshi. Suddenly the vines rip apart and they are free. On the ground is a red rose at each of their feet.
"Tuxedo Kamen!" Sailor Venus exclaims, happy he was able to free them from the vines.
Sailor Star Fighter stares at the rose on the ground in front of her. She finally understands why a rose would make Usagi think of Mamoru and fall apart on the rooftop in the rain so long ago.
They had just battled Sailor Tinn Nyanko and after they de-transformed back, Usagi couldn't take her eyes off the red rose even as it began to rain.
"Come to think of it… I've never been good at doing my best..." Usagi's voice starts softly.
Seiya looks at her confused. "What?"
Usagi continues to stare at the rose on the ground as tears form in her eyes. Her shoulders start to shake. "Even when I tell myself I'm going to finish my homework I'd end up snacking and once I'm full… I'd get tired and fall asleep you know?" By this time her hands are clenched tightly into fists, and are shaking.
Seiya gasps and his eyes widen when he realizes just how upset she is. Is this why she was on the roof alone, enough though the Animates are after her starseed?
"Even so, I kept telling myself that I need to get by on my own." She closes her eyes tightly trying to stop the tears from falling but it doesn't work. The first tears begin to fall. She opens her mouth to speak and the tears stream down her face now. "But your rose..." Her voice is louder, upset as her cheeks flush. "It reminded me of him!" She leans forward to yell at him for something he had done.
"Odango…" Seiya comments softly, trying to understand where all of this is coming from. He isn't sure what to say so he listens while she continues.
"Even though I can only hear his voice on the answering machine and I never received any letters from him, I told myself I'd be fine!" Her voice trails off for a moment and grows softer. She pauses to take a breath before she continues, "That I can take care of myself…but…" She gives up trying to hold back any of her tears as she starts shouting. "But I can't do it all alone! I just can't!" Usagi shoulders continue to shake as she finally expresses everything she is feeling.
"Odango…" Seiya responds quietly as the realization hits him she has been barely keeping it together this entire time. All of those bright smiles were only masking her pain.
Usagi collapses to the ground, her hands propping her up on the wet pavement. The tears won't stop even with her eyes shut. "I miss him so much…
Seiya can only watch in horror at seeing the pain Usagi has been trying to hide from everyone.
"I want to see Mamo-chan!" Usagi sobs softly; she can't keep it in anymore.
Seiya's expression hardens to one of anger to see Usagi this upset over someone that never called or wrote back to her. She didn't deserve this. No one did. Why kind of guy would do this to her? His heartrate speeds up with what he is about to say. He can't hold it back anymore. He has to find a way to ease her pain.
He kneels down on the ground as Usagi continues to sob and gently places his hands on her shoulders.
Usagi gasps slightly and picks her head up, her mouth opens slightly as the tears temporary stop due to her surprise.
Seiya looks at her closely. "Am I not good enough?"
Usagi gasps and her eyes widen. A few fears falling from her eyes. She doesn't respond. She can only stare at Seiya wide eyed.
He leans in a little closer and repeats, "Am I not good enough?" His eyes soften as he shows his concern for her.
Usagi continues to stare at Seiya wide eyed, unsure of what to say. Her cheeks are redder than they were earlier. She can't tell if it was from crying or what he said. She sniffles. Before she could say anything her friends came.
This is why seeing the red rose in that manner reminded Sailor Moon of Mamoru and why that single flower caused her to become undone. After all this time, it finally made sense. Sailor Star Fighter snaps back to the present to focus on the battle around her.
"Where is Usako?" Tuxedo Kamen asks the other senshi, panic in his voice.
"Usagi-chan and Ami-chan were separated from us earlier when we were trying to find a place to transform," Sailor Venus responds, removing the last pieces of vines from her body. "I know they are around here somewhere."
Polaris uses his worry to her advantage. "Do you really think you could save them in time? She really is helpless for a Princess. I expected someone so much stronger." She discharges a wide range attack of black energy at the senshi.
The blast never hits them as it is met with another powerful attack. Everyone shields their eyes from the blinding light.
Polaris narrows her eyes at the newcomer.
When the remaining energy dissipates, Sailor Moon is standing there and beside her is Sailor Mercury. She is breathing a little heavy after using a lot of energy on the youma she had defeated to make it to this point. Her eyes are angry as she stares at her new opponent. "Who said I needed saving."
"Sailor Moon…" Sailor Jupiter stares are her wide eyed, surprised by her bold statement.
Sailor Star Fighter smiles slightly, finally starting to see the confidence Sailor Moon had by the time she fought Chaos. The certainty she had when she realized she could save Sailor Galaxia.
Tuxedo Kamen rushes over to make sure she is unharmed; with his eyes he visually inspects her for signs of any injuries. "Are you okay Sailor Moon?"
Sailor Moon smiles at him. "I'm fine," she reassures him. She is glad to see him here at this battle or she would be worried he was in danger somewhere. She looks at everyone for a moment and realizes Rei isn't there with them. As soon as this is over, they will find her.
"School is supposed to be a place of learning, not a place to have your energy drained! For love and justice, I am the sailor suited pretty senshi, Sailor Moon! In the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!" She strikes her signature pose. Hoping this will give her a little more time to think of something.
Polaris laughs in response. "You really think I'm going anywhere little girl?" She emphasizes the word little girl. "This is just the warm up." She turns her attention to the Sun. "It's almost time." Her gaze returns back to the senshi. "Did you really think you'd stop us when you are so weak? If you can't stop youmas here…" she pauses, "or at D Point, what hope do you have of stopping Queen Beryl?"
"D Point…" Sailor Mercury echoes, the same place Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn traveled to this morning. It really was a trap!
"We will stop Queen Beryl and save everyone!" Sailor Moon challenges her back. She is worried about the Outer Senshi and she tries to hide her apprehension.
Polaris scuffs. "Really?" She flicks a few strains of her long silver hair behind her shoulders. "Just like last time?" She pauses to sneer at her. "But will you come back from the dead this time?"
Sailor Moon gasps and it takes her a few moments to regain her composure. "I'm not going to give up." She does her best to stay determined no matter how uneasy she feels in reality. She sounds less confident then she had only seconds ago.
Tuxedo Kamen places a hand on her shoulder for support and squeezes it lightly.
Polaris smiles at her evilly. "You have a long way to go little Princess. The true battle is barely starting." With a smirk she disappears from sight and more youma take her place.
The senshi behind Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen don't hesitate to attack the rest of the youma. They are angry. Polaris is trying everything in her power to unnerve them. They ignore the warning their bodies give them to rest.
Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus work together. Sailor Mercury scans the youma for those that appear the most injured or weakened. "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody!" The waves wash away two remaining youma and turn them into dust.
Sailor Venus looks over at Sailor Jupiter. Once she receives a head nod, she attacks. "Venus Love Me Chain!" She uses her chain to wrap it around two youma to prevent them from attacking while Jupiter prepares her own.
"Jupiter Oak Evolution!"
The Starlights don't need to exchange a word with each other. They already know what each other will do after years of working together and spending countless hours training on Kinmoku. It doesn't take long before they are able to clear several youma. They pause just long enough to take a breather before attacking the next group of youma.
Tuxedo Kamen is keeping a few of the youma back while Sailor Moon gathers more of her energy for an attack. When she finally has enough she unleashes it, Tuxedo Kamen moving to the side to avoid injury. "Moon Healing Escalation!"
The senshi are out of breath by the time they are down to the last few youma. They are exhausted. They barely slept, their energy was drained, and this battle lasted longer that it should have.
A few youma rush forward to lunge at Sailor Moon.
Tuxedo Kamen moves in front for her to protect her with his cane.
The youma never reaches them as balls of yellow orange and teal energy hit the youma, immediately turning them into dust.
All of the senshi, minus Tuxedo Kamen look at the four Outer Senshi stunned. He didn't know they returned to D Point this morning.
Sailor Moon's relief turns into frustration and she moves around Tuxedo Kamen to confront them. "How could you go back to D Point without telling anyone? We already talked about this! It's really dangerous! What if something happened to you?"
Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune gasp slightly. Each wondering how Sailor Moon could have learned of their plan.
"How do you know we were at D Point?" Sailor Pluto tries to downplay their actions in an effort to calm the Princess.
"Mercury saw your energy signature there on her computer earlier." Her eyes lower for a moment, "and there were readings of a lot of dark energy."
Sailor Uranus defends their actions, even if they are going against their Princess's wishes. "There is a threat approaching this planet. It is our responsibility to stop it and keep you safe."
Sailor Moon is about to snap. She keeps hearing Sailor Uranus tell her the same thing over and over without any regard for her own safety. "You have to stop doing things on your own that are dangerous! As soon as we stopped the youmas here we were going to go and search for you."
"We are fine," Sailor Neptune tries to reassure the Princess. "It is our responsibility to stop whatever threatens the Earth and keep you safe. Stopping the enemy is the best way. Our safety is secondary." She needs to make Sailor Moon understand.
"We have a better chance of defeating the enemy when we work together as a team," Sailor Moon's voice lowers slightly. She feels defeated. No matter how many times she begs them to work together with everyone; they are still going to run off on their own. It is what they do. If she ordered them to stop, would they? They would have to, wouldn't they? She is their Princess. Next time, she tells herself.
Before anyone can say anything else, a dark shadow falls over the Earth, turning everything to night in Tokyo for a few moments.
Sailor Mercury types frantically on her computer. "That is not supposed to happen with a solar flare!"
Sailor Star Maker looks over at Sailor Mercury for a moment. "Nothing about this event is natural."
"It's begun…" Sailor Star Healer looks over at her two fellow Starlights, their expressions mirror hers. The prophecy is about to begin.
The other senshi exchange worried glances with each other.
Note with the Starlights attacks. At the beginning of the Stars season they attacked without the star compacts. Then all of the sudden they each had one and needed it to attack for the rest of the season. The compacts were created to sell toys/merchandise. I am skipping them for this story and will continue to skip them for Chaos Theory. I just don't see a need for them and how they suddenly appear one episode with no explanation and now they need them to attack. The extra animation part was cool though.
Well… looks like the senshi ran out of time trying to figure out to stop a natural occurrence of a solar flare. Did they ever truly stand a chance? No.
The Outers were lucky all they found were youma at D Point. They must have been exhausting for Hotaru though. Where did the other youma go….?
Maybe they will figure it out as the battle against Queen Beryl kicks into high gear. Act 9: Only Together We Face the Fight on September 2nd!
P.S. Planning for the continuation of Chaos Theory is going well!
