Chapter 18

The Edge of Dawn

As I went to the door leading into the monastery, I saw the door open. I tensed up, only to relax when I saw that it was just Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude. "Oh, it's you.", I said. "Jack? But how?", Dimitri asked. "Well, funny story. You see, after we met in the London Underground, I got into a fight with these four Archangels- after I was severely injured, I was placed in a healing pod that was transported through a dimensional rift into this world. I lay at the bottom of the sea there for what I thought was weeks before I was found and airlifted out. I heard Veyle talking to some other people whilst my pod lay inside one of the Sovereign Empire's airships. Anyway, I was resuscitated and now here I am.", I said. "Anyway, is it true that Sanctus is dead?", Edelgard asked. "Yeah, it is.", I said. "Shame. We wanted a piece of him too. But still, the past is the past.", Claude said. "Why do you say that?", I asked. "Well, it has something to do with me. You know, when I was child, me and my siblings were experimented on by a cult named Those Who Slither In The Dark. During the experiments, Sanctus helped the monster impersonating my uncle in doing something absolutely unforgivable to me. Both Sanctus and Thales – the monster impersonating my uncle incidentally – sewed my vagina shut and forced me to bear it. Well, Thales held me down whilst Sanctus was the person who actually sewed my vagina shut.", Edelgard said. I covered my mouth in horror at this. "Edelgard, I didn't know.", I said. "Don't be sorry. I wanted Sanctus dead anyway.", Edelgard said. "Anyway, what was with that rumble outside?", I asked. "Oh, that was us testing the Ascension Project.", Dimitri said. "And what does this Ascension Project entail?", I asked. "Well, the Ascension Project consists of us using the Seven Relics and the Chaos Emeralds – the real ones – to allow two lucky people to ascend and become the uncontested rulers of not just Nintentopia but the entire Multiverse. Not only that, but the rulers will be able to rule the Multiverse according to their own whims and will have the authority to create a world where all others have no choice but to submit to them.", Claude said. "However, we cannot do so within Cyber Space's confines, so we need the fake emeralds here destroyed so we can properly escape and partake in the Ascension Project for real. With the green emerald gone, it's only a matter of time before we find a way to destroy the others and escape.", Dimitri said. "Not to mention, we need you to destroy the Titans so we can properly escape without any hinderances.", Micaiah said. "So, what do you say? Will you help us with the Ascension Project?", Edelgard asked. "I'm sorry, I really am, but I decline.", I said. Angered at this, Dimitri said, "Just like before. You resisted us before, so we are now enemies.". "Wait, why are we enemies now?", I asked.

Before I could get an answer, I found myself in Mahag Saar again. Shrugging, I then heard a voice saying, "You are now ready to face the other 3 Titans. Do not disappoint me.". The voice then disappeared as quickly as it appeared. I walked forward, noticing a gargantuan tower forged from an eldritch black metal in the distance. As I approached the tower, I had a vision of an absolutely massive legion of Sin Eaters descending upon multiple cities, attacking the fleeing civilians and turning them into Sin Eaters themselves. Alongside them were the Archangels and various other angelic monstrosities- some of them being faces with wings for ears, some being golden bladed wheels, others taking the form of beasts. Far above them was a colossal angel made of golden metal, as if it was originally a cup of some sorts. "Cleanse the filth and burn away their sins! Show no mercy toward the Unclean!", the giant golden angel boomed. "As you have commanded, Lord!", the other angels responded in an uncanny unison. "Wait, that giant angel, is he that YHVH the two people I met in the Leicester Space Centre warned me about?", I thought. As the vision progressed, I saw that the angels were being aided by several allies, primarily the Emblems, the Champions of Hyrule and Ouroboros. They were all wearing white and golden tunics. Opposing them was a lone figure wearing black and crimson armour wielding a brutish greatsword with spikes near the hilt; I felt something strange from the warrior, as though they were…me. The warrior then unleashed a sinister red and black aura which caused the greatsword to become lathered with a crimson glow; the vision faded before I could see anything further. I was now very close to the black tower. I looked up the sky, seeing a giant mechanical dragon flying around. "So that's the second Titan for me to fight, Wyvern.", I said to myself.

Climbing the tower intently, I saw the metal shift and warp before my eyes at my hands climbing the ebony metal. Also, now I was closer, I saw a black and crimson crystal at the tower's summit. Breathing in, I then sped up, now running up the metal, reaching the top in record time. From the summit, I surveyed the skyline carefully for any discernible landmarks to work out where exactly in Mahag Saar I was. Wyvern now flew very close to the tower, letting out an inhuman roar. Well, inhuman in the sense that it didn't sound like anything remotely terrestrial, not because it was a robot dragon. Now it was much closer, I surveyed Wyvern's body, noticing that the dragon was composed of a red and grey metal. Its body was very long like a sausage dog; meanwhile the mouth contained two sets of jaws very much like Giganto. The dragon also had two very thin arms ending in very sharp claws. Slightly unnerved, I steeled my resolve before leaping at Wyvern, ready to fight.

Sensing that I was ready to fight, Wyvern turned around at me and roared. It then turned tail and flew away like a little bitch, forcing me to fly after it (a trivial matter considering my gravitational manipulation abilities through my Semblance). I chased Wyvern throughout the sky, unleashing an onslaught of fireballs to counter the dragon's missiles. Wyvern then sharply turned around, slashing me with its claws; I countered the slashes like a total badass by unleashing my Aura periodically, creating a dark orange shield of sorts around my body. As Wyvern became stunned by the counter, I moved in, unleashing an onslaught of rapid fire punches and kicks wreathed in elemental energy. Wyvern then opened its mouth, unleashing a stream of crimson fire; I dodged this deftly. Feeling time slowing down to a crawl, I responded by unleashing a laser of watery energy followed by a large amount of icy lances. This was in turn followed by a whip of ivy after which I commanded the energy to explode in a large fireball. Wyvern then emerged out of the fire, its mouth open and ready to devour me; of course, it did not do that, instead firing a massive payload of missiles at me. I countered this by unleashing a massive burst of gravitational energy, freezing the missiles in their tracks and allowing me to fire them back at Wyvern, who responded by unleashing a massive stream of crimson fire, destroying the missiles. I smirked, unleashing a giant gust of wind to blow away the next missile payload Wyvern shot out at me. This was then followed by me then using my gravitational powers to call the missiles back to me and then forming them into a giant ball that I then threw into Wyvern's mouth, destroying it. Like with Giganto, crimson Cyber Space energy then entered me, covering my body like a cocoon. The cocoon then shattered as I then fired off a payload of spectral missiles before I returned to the sandy ground.

Panting heavily, I then saw a strange figure in the distance, only for them to then mysteriously disappear. I shrugged, walking further through the desert.

The story continues in the next chapter.
