"Okay class pay attention!" the cold raspy voice was more than familiar to Alicia. She knew who it belonged to. But she saw no one. Well, that was because she had closed her eyes and was trying to keep them closed. Please... anything but that! Her thoughts were only about one thing. The one thing that Alicia wanted to forget. She knew where she was. In a classroom. Her classroom back when she was in 10th grade. Well not physically but mentally you could say. But that didn't change the fact that it felt like she was there.
Slowly and unintentionally, Alicia opened her eyes and first saw her table with her papers, pencil case, pen and writing pad with something written in it. However, nothing nice. Rather something bad. She didn't want to know what it was. Actually, she didn't want to be here because she was already out of school and a student at the university.
"Is this a dream?" she didn't really know but it felt like it was. The other classmates paid no attention to her, which relieved Alicia. She sighed out in relief and leaned against her chair. Yep, nothing to worry about. Or as Cuphead would say: "Eh, I ain't too worried about it".
"Did you say something Miss Powell?" said the scratchy raspy voice again making Alicia wince. Now she was no longer relieved but afraid. Panic, you might say, because when Alicia opened her eyes, suddenly everyone was staring at her. Both the students and the teacher Alicia knew all too well.
It was Miss Anderson. The math and English teacher she had for the first semester before she retired in November. Nobody really liked her. Almost everyone hated her because she was very old-fashioned about learning. She seriously wanted her students to write in class using only a bird pen, but luckily the principal was against it. On top of that, she was a heavy smoker. That's why her voice sounded like this.
All the students hated that smell when she smoked. The smell of smoke that slowly flew through your nose. Yep not so nice. Alicia always hated it when she had to go to the front of the teacher's desk. Not only because Miss Anderson smelled so strongly of cigarette but also because she always stared at you so venomously.
Whether you had done your homework or work well or not she looked at everyone that way. In addition, she always had a long thin stick with her with which she hit her own table or the table of a student who was talking in between. As if a simple request was not enough. Unfortunately, that's how Miss Anderson was when she taught.
"Well Miss Powell if you're not going to tell me what you just said you're going to have to come forward here and recite it" Alicia's eyes widened in horror when she heard that. A few of her classmates giggled while a few others teased Alicia with facial expressions.
"I..." she didn't know what to say. What should she even recite? The sheet of paper in front of her was empty except for a few scribbles. These indicated what Alicia nevertheless very confused a few the former debtors. Even though they were hard to recognize, Alicia saw Baroness Von Bon Bon, Cagney, Brineybeard and, amazingly, her husband Lucifer. The devil from the Cuphead book.
Alicia did not know what to do. Actually she didn't want to get up and go forward but her legs didn't obey her anymore but went forward without her being able to do anything about it. She was now standing in front of the entire class. Her legs were trembling as well as her lips. That she had great pressure was noticeable but did anyone do anything about it?
Of course not. Alicia's classmates laughed at her and pointed their fingers at her while Miss Anderson shook her head. Not because of the students laughing but because Alicia couldn't manage to talk in front of the whole class.
Alicia was close to tears and shaking even more than before. But her tears disappeared when she saw Miss Anderson with her cane slowly approaching her and ready to hit her with it. Oh no please... "Alicia!". This voice was familiar to her. Confused, Alicia opened her eyes and she was back in her dream center before she disappeared in light particles.
"Alicia!" Alicia heard loudly next to her as she stood in front of the closet in the guest room and held the last piece of clothing in her hands that she actually wanted to put in the closet. But she still held it in her hand and stood like a statue in front of the closet.
She was back in reality. Well, she was still with Cuppy in the world of The Cuphead Show. Whether that could be called reality, Alicia didn't really know. After all, she was the only real person in this world. Everything else were toons.
"Are you okay?" asked Cuppy who was standing next to her, looking at Alicia with concern. She blinked several times before looking down at Cuppy and forcing a smile. "I'm fine Cuppy" she said and put the piece of clothing in the closet before closing it and sighing sadly. Sighing even more, Alicia walked out of the room, leaving Cuppy alone who knew something was wrong with Alicia. She was shy and didn't like to be the center of attention, but despite all that, he quickly noticed when something was wrong with her.
So he decided to go after her to find out what was wrong with her and if he could help her. He went out of the guest room and found himself in the living room again where Alicia sat down on the sofa and sighed even more sadly. Cuphead and Mugman heard it and interrupted their game of marbles. Both mugs were as concerned about Alicia as Cuppy was. Therefore, it was not surprising when Alicia looked from the ceiling to the front where all three cups stood directly in front of her and stared at her with depressed and worried expressions.
"Ali is something wrong?" "Yes, we are worried about you" both brothers said while looking at Alicia with googly eyes. She herself felt for the three of them but she didn't know if she should say what was actually bothering her. Again, saying nothing didn't help her either so she didn't really know what to actually say or if she should say anything at all. Her eyes moved thoughtfully back and forth before she opened her mouth and thought. The three cups waited patiently for her to say something. "I..." she continued to think and sighed again while looking sadly at the floor, standing up and walking to the front door. "I need some time to myself" all three cups looked towards the front door which Alicia opened and walked out of.
The three stood rooted to the spot, unable to close their mouths in shock. Mugman tried to close the mouths of himself and his brother by pushing up his chin, but as soon as he removed his hand from his brother, his mouth was open again. Just as the door closed Elder Kettle walked down the stairs and saw the expressions on the faces of the three mugs staring at the front door. He saw no sign of Alicia, so he assumed she was no longer in the cottage or in the guest room. But his guess was the former. Otherwise the three would not be standing in front of the front door.
"Why didn't she tell us we were going to help her?" "Why did she react like that?" No one could answer these questions. Even Elder Kettle didn't know what to say to the three cups. But he suspected why Alicia went out of the cottage. "Boys, you need to give her some time to herself." that confused the three of them even more. Why should they leave Alicia alone when they wanted to help her? Elder Kettle saw the worried faces of the three. The straws were also hanging down. Mugman sniffled and was close to tears.
Elder Kettle sighed and walked with the three to the sofa. A conversation couldn't hurt. "I know you three want to help Alicia, but..." he sighed again. The three cups noticed that it was difficult for him to say something. "I think she'll be better soon" he patted all three before getting up and heading to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
The conversation had not really improved the mood of the three. Now they were even more worried about Alicia and wanted to run after her but otherwise they also wanted to give her time for herself. But unfortunately there was a problem. The devil could take advantage of this to kidnap Alicia.
However, the latter had just arrived in the underworld and was not very pleased with the last action. This was probably also because parts of his skin were visible. His fur was still missing on the chest and the parts of the upper arms. That these still had to grow back and that this would take a while, he knew. That's why he wore a sweater with the same color as his fur to cover his bald skin but unfortunately it was destroyed by Cuppy which made the devil even more angry than he already was.
"This damn cup! I'll grab his sweater too and then I can collect both souls from those cups without any problems!" he growled while trying not to freak out. His fur was already slightly on fire the more he growled. Not only had he not managed to get the souls from the two cups, but unfortunately he had not been able to get Alicia to sign the marriage contract.
This frustrated him even more than getting the souls from the two cups. But before he could say anything, Henchman and Amnon appeared in the throne room. The former pushed a serving cart while the latter held a saucer with a white cup in his hands and placed it on the armrest of the throne before the devil took it and took a big sip from the cup before talking to the two.
"Thank you Henchman and Amnon" he had calmed down and was almost back to his old self. Well, only almost because he was still missing some fur. But otherwise he was back to his old self. But Henchman already suspected that it did not go well. Otherwise Alicia would sit next to him on the throne and he would hold the souls of the two cups in his hands before he devoured them like cotton candy.
Anyway, he loved to do that with people who owed him their souls for a long time. Like these two cups. But for now, he has to figure out not only how to get the souls of the two cups, but also how to make Alicia fall in love with him and become his wife and queen. "It didn't go so well boss I guess" said Amnon while Henchman winced in fear. He had deliberately said nothing as the devil had just calmed down. One wrong word and he was even angrier than before.
The devil put the cup and saucer on the serving cart next to the throne before turning his attention to the two demons. "Unfortunately, I could not get the souls from these two cups, nor could I get my beloved Alicia to sign this marriage proposal," sighed the devil as he sat down. "Henchman could you please bring me a new sweater?" the fat purple Demon Imp didn't hesitate and immediately went out of the throne room while the Devil tried to cover his bare skin with the metal hood.
Amnon only showed his back to the devil whistling so as not to expose him even more and make him angrier. Just as he was about to say something, Henchman appeared and gave the devil a replacement sweater that was the same color as the devil's coat. This blended in with his fur and his skin was no longer visible.
"Alright new plan..." the devil thought but his thoughts were interrupted as it suddenly became cold in the throne room. The flames went out and icicles appeared on the pillars. Confused, Henchman looked around and slowly began to tremble. Amnon and the devil, however, did not. "Why is it so cold in here?" asked Henchman in a shaky voice as he hugged himself and rubbed his elbows with his hands for warmth so he wouldn't freeze to death. Well, there was already a small icicle hanging from the tip of his nose, which he tore off with his right hand.
The question was quickly answered where all the ice came from. In front of the throne, a few meters away, from a cloud of smoke made of raven feathers, appeared a person the devil knew all too well.
An elegant, slender and curvaceous raven demon who is a head shorter than the Devil appears out of the cloud of smoke and Raven Feathers. Her feathers are pure black as the moonless midnight, with a bluish-black beak and icy blue eyes with dark blue-black pupils.
She has has humanoid arms, which are the same colour as her feathers, with claw like icy blue fingernails, her raven wings sported from her back and her legs, as well as her talons are dark silver coloured. She has long blue-black hair that reaches down to her waist.
She wears a dark blue off the shoulders gown with an icy blue trim along the neckline and flowing bell-shaped sleeves that reaches to her elbows, revealing a long and elegant icy blue handless gloves that covers her knuckles. The gown has an icy blue ribbon-like sash with a sapphire buckle around the waist. On her right wrist, she wears a sapphire encrusted silver bracelet, a silver necklace (similar to Princess Aurora's) with a diamond shaped sapphire in it and a silver diadem with a sapphire.
It was Lilith, the devil's business partner, who, like him, is able to steal the souls of the inhabitants. She was very loyal to him but, unlike Silk and the others, seems to have no interest in being the devil's Wife. "Lilith, I see you have returned from your journey from the mysterious island outside Inkwell Isle," the devil spread his fingers together while grinning diabolically.
Lilith also grinned and snapped her fingers to make her `ravens` appear. These were Demon Imps, but instead of fur, they wore feathers and had small raven wings. Otherwise they looked very similar to the devil's Imps. Only they obeyed Lilith. Five of Lilith's Imps carried a large bag with "Souls" written large on it. "Take these to the soul vault and bring this note here to Stickler" yes also Lilith could not stand the auditor like the devil himself.
That's why she was so reluctant to confront him that she made a list explicitly for him with all the souls she had collected so that he would be satisfied. That the bag was big pleased the devil very much. He grinned and was happy like a child who just gets a lollipop.
"And as I have heard there is also news in the underworld concerning the selection of a queen" the devil fell silent and his joy disappeared, showing a worried face. That he had chosen a queen was supposed to remain a secret. Only a few should know about it. How Lilith learned about it frightened him very much.
"How did you know about this Lilith?" the devil asked her with a threatening look that could kill. Lilith, however, only smirked when she saw this look from the devil. "Well, my ravens see and hear everything" two of her imps appeared on her right and left. The one on the right flew into the air and whispered something in her ear. Lilith nodded "And I see you are wearing only a sweater to hide your naked skin" the devil growled.
Lilith noticed that he was embarrassed, but found it sweet. Not because he found it embarrassing but because of his facial expression. "But let's change the subject" she clapped her hands and the two Imps standing next to her disappeared from the throne room with the rest of her Imps. Only Amnon and Henchman remained. The latter two knew that they should leave as well and followed Lilith's Imps out of the throne room before she could talk to the devil privately.
The devil, however, was not in the mood to talk and showed no attention to Lilith. "Lilith I am very pleased that you are here again, but I don't feel like having a conversation right now" "Oh, but you don't know what I want to talk to you about". But the devil didn't care. Lilith, however, did. Therefore she sat down on the armrest of his throne, grabbed his chin with her hand and turned his head to her.
"Tell me who is your lady of the heart?" the devil already suspected that Lilith would like to hear about Alicia. Already at the through of her name his cheeks blushed. Lilith had to smile, "Well, I've never seen you like this before," she was surprised, because the devil was never like this before. Rather, he was in a bad mood or took pleasure in the suffering of others. But he was never in love. "Well her name is Alicia and she is the most beautiful creature I have ever come across" he moaned in love and his cheeks flushed even more than before while his tail wagged back and forth uncontrollably like a dog. Lilith giggled and listened to the devil while he told her more about Alicia. She knew now that she meant a lot to him. But one thing was still strange for her.
From what she heard, Alicia was a hybrid. A hybrid of a human and a demon. Hybrids in themselves were rare in the underworld and known for having little to no demonic powers. They were also extremely weak, which was not the case with Alicia. She had the same powers as the devil, but she was much stronger than him.
That he would like to make her his wife and queen had something to do with the fact that the devil had been looking for a queen worthy of him for a very long time. "And you think she would be perfect?" Lilith asked curiously. "She is more than perfect Lilith" the devil stood up and went to his tapestries while Lilith followed him. "If she is my wife and queen I can finally perform the ritual and regain my old powers".
"And you really think that she..." the devil nodded, answering her question. "Yes Lilith she will bring me back my old powers when she and I are married and she wears the crown" yes Lilith knew that the devil would like to have his old powers back that he once possessed a long long time ago. But due to a curse he got from two wolves and a Manticore he lost half of his powers. Since then he has to rely on his trident when he doesn't want to transform. This is the only power he could still use without using his trident and that frustrates him a lot.
If he still had his powers, he could easily take revenge on the two cups. But before he could do that, he had to get Alicia to marry him and become his queen and perform the ritual with him. Only then would the curse be lifted and he could terrify Inkwell Isle. But how? She was persistent. He knew that. "But unfortunately I can't get her to join me" he walked dejectedly to his throne, leaning his right arm on the armrest and supporting his head with his right hand while he thought.
"She's rarely alone and always in the company of those..." he growled, breathing in and out and calmed down again before continuing to speak without freaking out in anger "Cups?" finished Lilith his sentence while the devil nodded and pouted. Lilith thought and had an idea "Don't worry I'll bring her to you".
The devil's perplexed face was hard to miss. He had just explained to her that she was never alone on the road but always in company, which in turn made it difficult for the devil to get her into his kingdom. "Lilith I know you want to help me, but as I said, she is rarely alone on the islands," but Lilith knew that and went to the wall mirror through which the devil liked to watch the inhabitants of the islands. The mirror surface moved like waves when Lilith touched it with her fingers.
The waves became more and more and the reflection no longer showed Liliths but Alicia who was walking along a forest path. And alone, no cups were with her. This was the opportunity for the devil to catch her. He was about to reach for his trident but Lilith stopped him as she pressed her hand on his chest.
"Easy tiger I wouldn't go to her for now if I were you" the devil looked from her to his chest as well as his arms. These were covered with the sweater so that one did not see his bare skin but the devil knew what Lilith meant. Even if Alicia was alone now, the three cups could still be here somewhere and give him another electric shock. That's why the devil wanted to get rid of both sweaters so that the two cups wouldn't hurt him anymore and he could grab their souls. "She will surely expect you to appear at any moment," that was true. But the devil wanted to take the chance here and now to bring Alicia into his kingdom. Lilith, however, suggested him another tactic.
"You should appear when she least expects it" whispered the Raven Demoness in his ear. "What do you mean Lilith?" he didn't get an exact answer because right before his eyes Lilith disappeared and left the even more confused devil alone who didn't know what to do. Only when Lilith's Imps appeared before him and offered to take care of him did he gladly accept. "A little wellness can't hurt me" he was already looking forward to a warm bubble bath with cucumber slices on his eyes while Lilith's ravens massaged his hands and feet. It could be even better because not only that he would be spoiled no he would also get Alicia his sweetheart and the souls of the two cups.
A soft sigh was heard as Alicia walked through the forest and looked down at the ground. A smile no longer graced her face. She was depressed. Very depressed. The three cups did not know the exact reason, but Alicia did. She felt lonely without her second half. "Oh Lucifer..." she sighed. Yes she missed her husband the devil from the Cuphead book very much. She missed his soft and fluffy fur that she liked to bury herself in when she was sad, his purr that followed and the tender stroking over her back while he gently ran his claws down it.
Just thinking about it made Alicia even sadder than before and, unfortunately, angrier. "Why did something like this have to happen to me of all people?" she blamed herself for landing in this world. She did the same when she was trapped in the book, but at least she could escape from it because she had finished writing the story. But here it was different. She didn't have her writing pad here with which to write the story.
Frustrated, she changed into her wolf form and ran into the forest with her eyes closed while tears flowed from her eyes and landed on the ground. The ground absorbed them and a flower appeared. Not just any flower. Nigella damascena was its name and it shone in a bright blue color. Alicia kept running and crying even more than before. But running blindly through the forest didn't help her either. So she opened her eyes and stopped. Just in time, otherwise she would have run into a lake. The tears landed in the water as Alicia looked down and looked at herself.
The memories of when she turned into a wolf for the very first time came up again. How confused she was and proud she was when Lucifer praised her for it. She had not felt this feeling for a long time. Well, who could blame her, she was used to not being in the limelight and getting little or no attention.
Her parents were no exception - work had priority. Family came after that. So it had always been and so it will always remain. Maybe it helps if I drink something to get rid of the grief. She lowered her head to drink from the lake. Her tongue scooped the water into her mouth as all dogs do. Alicia didn't want to be lost in thought and was about to close her eyes when she saw something appear on the surface of the water that was on the other side of the lake.
What exactly it was Alicia could not see but it seemed to be something dark gray or even black. Lucifer is that you? Alicia lifted her head and looked in the direction, but unfortunately it wasn't Lucifer. No, her eyes had deceived her, it was a deer and a doe that also drank from the lake and saw Alicia. Both did not hesitate long and disappeared into the forest when they saw the wolf. That a fawn was still with them Alicia saw only now because it was well hidden between his parents.
Alicia could still hear the clatter of hooves from far away. "Sorry!" she called after them, but she didn't get an answer. Great. Sighing, she walked further and lowered her head again while her wolf ears hung down sadly. She was back on the forest path and kept walking while in her mind she was in the arms of her husband who slowly caressed her cheek while kissing her and saying how much he loved her. His purring could not be overheard.
In fact, she heard it quite loud and clear. Wait a minute. It sounded almost as if it were near her. Could it be... Her tail wagged with joy as she heard the purr again and followed it. There was no doubt that she knew this purr more than too well. Beaming with joy she followed it. Her mood rose again. She was happy and wanted to fall immediately in the arms of her husband, but when she came closer to the source of the purr, Alicia saddly had to realize one thing.
The purring she heard did not come from her husband. Oh man. The purring came from two mountain lions cuddling with each other. Their heads rubbed against each other while the male licked the female across the forehead, which caused her to purr.
More depressed than before, Alicia continued walking, not bothering the two mountain lions who did not notice that a wolf was watching them. Both continued to cuddle with each other before they decided to go hunting. However, Alicia was even sadder than before. Not only did she wish that her husband was here, but she also wished that the Isle's would stop screwing around. It was bad enough that the devil and some of the debtors she met were flirting with her, but to be screwed over now was too much for her.
Just like the shadow she saw in front of her that resembled the devil very much. She took a step back and followed the origin of the shadow and was even more depressed than before. It was a tree standing in the sun, forming a shadow that looked like Lucifer. Or the devil. She wanted to hope for the former instead of the latter. Her eyes closed and a tear flowed from her eye. She walked on, feeling even worse than before. If one could say that there was a level worse than worse, then she would be in this state now.
As she walked along, she didn't realize that the shadow was created by a tree that had made a joke out of it and fooled the unsuspecting wolf. The tree next to him, however, did not find this funny and gave him a blow on the back of the head. Thereby a few acorns fell down from him. That it was embarrassing to him you could see. But the other tree shook only with the head.
She walked on and on until Alicia stopped. Why should I go any further at all? What is the point? She didn't know that well. No one could give her an answer. Only she herself could answer her own question.
Frustrated, Alicia sighed even more and lifted her wolf head. She was no longer on the forest path but surprisingly in a beautiful clearing. The clearing was huge you could say when looking from a wolf's perspective. But Alicia didn't care, she liked the place very much and felt free. A feeling that she had not felt for a long time. If one could say at all that it was a long time ago.
In the middle of the clearing stood a tree stump large enough for more than one person to sit on. Or maybe the perspective played a trick on Alicia. Would not be the first time. Rolling her eyes, she walked over to the stump, which didn't get any smaller, as Alicia had thought, but kept its size. Slowly Alicia changed back into her demon form as she sat down on the tree stump and looked around. No one was with her, which reassured her.
Her tail hung down sideways from the tree stump while she herself tried to think positively. But as soon as she saw her wedding ring, thoughts of Lucifer came up. The silver ring with a ruby in the center that resembled an eye reflected with every movement Alicia made. She knew it was a normal wedding ring but still Alicia had the feeling that this one was special. When she looked closer, Alicia gasped.
Wait don't tell me... Lucifer suddenly appeared in the ruby and smiled at her and waved. Alicia was both confused and surprised. Since when could her wedding ring do that? Well, Lucifer had never told her about it and she had never asked, so it was clear why she was so surprised.
But before she could even open her mouth, Lucifer disappeared from the ruby. Or had he been in there at all? Good question. Alicia looked up at the sky and realized that it was getting dark. The sky was slightly dark blue while the clouds had a red to purple tone. Some yellow was also visible between the trees. It was like a play of colors, you could say. Alicia liked the sunrises as well as the sunsets very much. A reason why she had always woken up her parents as a child and why there were so many photos with sunsets and sunrises in the family photo album.
However beautiful it was to look at this Alicia knew that it would soon be dark. And she didn't like to walk around in the forest at night. "Alright then, let's go" she was about to leave when suddenly two things occurred to her. First, she had to explain to the three cups what exactly was going on with her and why she suddenly run away. That would be easy. Cuppy and the others would understand and comfort her.
The other thing, however, was the sudden snowfall, the cold as well as the voice that flew past her ear like a wind. "Well, look at that" said the voice that just appeared next to her ear. Alicia twitched and looked in the direction from where the voice came but there was no one there. Confused, she looked around but saw no one anywhere. So where could the voice have come from? Alicia shrugged, stood up and was about to leave when she heard the same voice again.
"I see now why he chose you to be queen," the voice sounded even closer than before. It went ice cold down her spine when she heard this. But she shook her head and was back to her old self. "And who are you to judge me?" she asked, looking around. Her demon eyes allowed her to see even the smallest things that would not be possible with a human eye without the help of a microscope, of course.
But she could not recognize anything let alone guess who it could be. The devil already not because he would not be able to. I hope so, anyway. In addition, the voice still sounded female. It couldn't be Silk and the other rivals either, because Alicia felt the snow landing on her and the cold. So only one person remained she know. "Lilith..." "Oh so you know my name?" the voice said as Alicia unintentionally spoke her thoughts.
Alicia looked around even more until Lilith appeared in front of her from a cloud of smoke that consisted of well, smoke and feathers. Of course she was two heads taller than Alicia like the Lilith from the Cuphead book. Why do I have to be so damn small? "Well, I would have guessed you to be a little taller," said the raven demoness as she surveyed and circled Alicia.
"But I have to admit somehow you look cute too" Thanks for the compliment. Alicia rolled her eyes when Lilith mentioned this. "Maybe, but why are you here? I guess the compliment won't be the only one, I suppose?" Alicia was right. Lilith was not here to compliment her but to persuade her to come with her to the underworld so she could marry the devil.
The Raven Demoness saw impatience growing in the hybrid. She knew that this one demanded an answer, so Lilith gave her one. "Well, I'm-" "Hey!" but suddenly someone interrupted her. Not just anyone. Alicia knew the voice. It was Cuppy's, he just appeared in the clearing with the two brothers in tow. All three had followed Alicia unnoticed and wanted to save her from Lilith. Well, actually from the devil. That Lilith appeared in his place surprised Cuppy.
But nevertheless he saw that Alicia was not feeling well. She was shivering all over despite the fur. Lilith, on the other hand, was glad to see the cup and smiled. She knew that he was still wearing his invisible impenetrable sweater. This prevented the devil from stealing his soul. "So you're the little annoying cup the devil told me about".
Nervously Cuppy swallowed as he saw Lilith coming closer to him. The cold could be felt as the raven demoness slowly approached him. Of course, Cuppy didn't hesitate long and pulled out his finger pistol, at the tip of which an orange ball appeared, charging and growing larger by the second. "Stay back or I'll..." "Or what? You're going to shoot me with that little fart bullet?" Lilith laughed but Cuppy fired the bullet and hit her.
Smoke appeared around her when the bullet hit the raven demoness. Cuppy as well as Alicia and the two brothers hoped that Lilith would be damaged. But unfortunately, luck was not on their side when the smoke disappeared. Lilith did not get a scratch. The ball froze into a ball of ice that Lilith caught before gravity kicked in and the ball threatened to fall to the ground. "Hmm fascinating" she said, tossing the ice ball into the air and catching it again while her gaze fell to Cuppy as she crushed the ice ball into ice shards with the sheer force of her hands.
His swallowing could be heard. There was no doubt about it. So his finger gun had no effect on her. That was not a good sign for him. They were in deep trouble and it was going to get worse. "Cuppy your sweater!" gasped Mugman as he and Cuphead saw what was happening to the sweater. Cuppy also looked down and gasped in fear as well. His sweater was now no longer invisible like it was supposed to be.
It was visible and made of ice. Wait ice?! Before Alicia or the cups could say anything, the sweater shattered into several pieces and was destroyed and unusable. "No!" Alicia screamed as she tried to run to Cuppy, but Lilith got in her way. "I wouldn't do that if I were you my majesty" My what? Alicia was confused until she realized what Lilith meant.
Unlike the Lilith from the book, this one was apparently obsessed with Alicia being married to the devil. Or rather, she helped the devil achieve his goal. To marry her and get the souls of Cuphead and Cuppy. Both were trembling and hugging each other when Lilith approached them and held out her hand. The feeling of emptiness and coldness was felt by the two cups.
The end was near. Both could no longer escape their fate. Their souls now belonged to the devil after all. "Goodbye Mugsy" tears flowed from his eyes as Cuphead said this. Mugman, of course, did not hold back but cried hysterically while hugging his brother for the last time. But before he could do that, he and the others suddenly felt a strong presence near them. This presence was unknown to the three cups as well as to Lilith. She knew that such a presence had the devil one. But who was it?
Confused, the four turned around and saw Alicia on fire with rage. Her eyes glowed a menacing red while her horns began to glow. The silver trident was in her hand and was also on fire at the tip. These were not red flames, however, but blue. With these she aimed at Lilith. "Leave my friends alone!" said Alicia in a demonic voice that sounded very very deep.
Cuppy had never seen her so angry. Normally Alicia was hard to irritate because she liked to avoid trouble as much as she could. But if anyone threatened her friends, she was as if she had been replaced and was almost unrecognizable. Like now. Around her was a dark aura that obscured everything about her except her eyes. She looked like a shadow of herself if she didn't hold the trident in her hand.
The cups took the chance and walked away from Lilith to hide behind a rock. The three already knew what was about to happen. When Alicia fired a blue flame beam at Lilith. The Raven Demon tried to protect herself from the attack with an ice shield she made with her wings, but the blue flames were stronger and melted the ice, throwing Lilith away and landing against a tree while the flame beam hit a small rock and created an explosion.
Meanwhile, the devil enjoyed his wellness bath in the underworld while Lilith's ravens took care of him. One smeared a green cream on the face of the devil while another put two cucumber slices on his eyes. "Thank you you may go" with his hands he waved the two Imps away and enjoyed his relaxing bath.
Or he would if he wasn't suddenly surprised by the explosion he heard just as he was about to lie down deeper in the bathtub. His smile disappeared and a grumpy face was visible while the cucumber slice fell from his eyes and landed in the bathtub. Now he was no longer relaxed but tense. "Who the heck is making that kind of noise?" he asked himself as his gaze fell to the ceiling. His first thought was the three cups, but what he didn't know was that it was Alicia who had created the explosion.
Lilith slowly stood up while scratching her head and had to process the whole thing that had just happened. She never would have thought that a hybrid would have such powers that could knock her out just like that. Lilith was the second strongest Demon on Inkwell Isle next to the Devil. No one had ever beaten her as easily as Alicia had just done, let alone knocked her down. "Okay that was very surprising I must say" Lilith leaned on the tree trunk while Alicia growled. Her anger was still there despite the fact that all three cups were safe. However, Lilith was still there and did not give up so quickly. No, she would not give in. After all, her pride would be damaged. And she would not let that happen. Therefore she let an ice spear appear with which she fought against Alicia.
The sounds of battle could be heard. It was a battle of fire against ice that was taking place in the clearing. The three cups heard it and were curious but also afraid. They did not know how the fight would end or how it would end. But the three were unconcerned when they saw that Alicia was fine while Lilith fell to her knees while her ice spear was split in half.
The dark aura had already almost disappeared around her body. Her eyes, however, still glowed red and resembled those of a predator. A predator that had just won back its territory. Lilith inhaled and exhaled deeply before slowly standing up. She did not pick up the ice spear. She knew she had lost. "I can see you're stronger than you look," the raven demon disappeared in a puff of feather smoke, leaving Alicia alone, who slowly turns to her human form.
The dark aura disappeared and Alicia was back to her old self. However, she was very exhausted from the fight she had with Lilith and threatened to collapse if the three cups had not caught her. "Alicia are you okay?" "Are you okay?" "Please say something we're worried about you" she heard and looked at the three cups with a smile on her face while sitting down cross-legged. She was fine, but she was very exhausted, which confused Alicia. "What is..." she looked around the clearing and saw all the chaos created by the fight. The beautiful clearing had now become a battlefield of fire and ice.
Alicia did not know what happened, but she already suspected what it could have been. "You had a fight against a raven demon named Lilith," Cuphead answered her question before she could even open her mouth. Alicia could not remember the fight. The only thing she remembered was that she suddenly became extremely angry when Lilith threatened to steal Cuppy and Cuphead's souls.
Everything after that was like she had been given a general anesthetic. "Oh man, don't tell me it was me who torched the whole clearing," the nod from the three cups confirmed her question. Great. Really great. Alicia slowly stood up or tried to with the help of the three cups standing by her. Of course, the three were surprised that Alicia was able to do this. But deep inside the three knew that Alicia didn't want to react like that.
She didn't want to be made out to be a monster. Which is why she hid her demon powers from everyone, with the exception of the three cups and Elder Kettle, of course. "I think we should go home," Cuppy suggested, because it was already dark. The crescent moon was already visible in the sky and he wore a white sleeping cap with moon symbols on it and a yellow pom-pom at the end. "Yes, we should go home before Elder Kettle starts to worry about us".
While the four of them were walking home, the devil arrived in the throne room with a pink towel, which was unusual for him. The relaxation bath had helped him very much to relax. Also, some fur had already grown back. However, he still wore the sweater. "It couldn't be better" he moaned as he sat down on his throne and was about to unfold the towel from his horns when Lilith appeared in front of him, leaning against a pillar.
"Lilith are you okay?" the devil was very surprised to see her like this. The raven demoness was very beaten up from the fight against Alicia. "I'm fine, it's just a... couple of..." Before she could speak further she fell to the ground and was unconscious. The devil ran to her while the towel landed on the throne. He lifted her so that she was leaning against the column with her upper body. "Rest, Lilith, I expected too much from you," said the devil as he stroked her cheek and summoned some imps to take her to her sleeping chamber. He already knew that Lilith was not strong enough to win against Alicia. Nor could she persuade her. But for that she had destroyed the second sweater.
With this, he could now collect the souls from both cups without anything getting in between. They could not knit a new sweater because Lilith was responsible for the extinction of the creature from which the fur came in the first place. His face was adorned with a nasty diabolical grin. Yes, soon the two souls would be his and Alicia would be his wife. But before he shows up in front of her now, the devil decided to follow Lilith's advice. "Don't worry, soon you will be mine Alicia".
