Not long after Ember's new Turtwig, Silas, was captured the gang were taking a break from traveling for lunch. Ember was checking on her new Turtwig with her Rotom phone; Silas knew Tackle, Withdraw, Razor Leaf, Bite, Absorb, Dig and Synthesis. It was unusual that Silas knew Dig because Turtwig and their evolved forms don't really learn Dig. But Ember was happy with her new Pokémon and couldn't wait to use him in battle.

Suddenly Paul turned up.

"You certainly appear out of nowhere don't you Paul?" Ember said.

"I'm just on my way to the Oreburgh Gym." Paul retorted.

"I see." Ember understood, "Then you best be on your way."

Paul nodded and walked away.

Alain, Brock and Dawn let out sighs of relief.

"For a moment there, I thought you two would get into a fight." Alain commented.

"Yeah. But I made sure to be the bigger person which I'm sure that Paul might not be." Ember stated, "When you have a rival who likes to insult you or your Pokémon, it isn't best to let your anger get to you. If you let your anger get to you Dawn, you'll lose concentration in the end."

"Okay." Dawn understood.

After lunch the gang had walked to an entrance of a forest. Brock took a look at his map guide. "Oh-oh," he said, "it says here that this forest is called Bewilder Forest, and it also says that wild Stantler live here."

"If Stantler live in there then we better be careful, otherwise they'll put us in illusions." Alain advised.

"What should we do?" Dawn asked, worriedly.

"Don't worry, Dawn. If we run into any Stantler, I'll let you all know at once." Ember assured her.

The gang entered the forest.

As the gang walked through the forest, Ember had her eyes shut to use her aura. Thanks to that, they managed to keep away from the wild Stantler.

"This aura power certainly is very handy." Dawn commented.

"I take it was hard to practice this aura power of yours, right Ember?" Brock asked.

"Yes, Riley had me practice using aura in my surroundings and my other aura abilities every day," Ember replied, "and it took four months to get everything right."

"Wow." Dawn said, impressed.

Thanks to Ember's aura, the gang made it out of the forest without getting hypnotizes by the wild Stantler, and from running into any wild Beedrill.

Suddenly they ran into Paul again. "I'm surprised you managed to get through this forest with Stantler living in there." he said, rudely.

"Hm. Catch any new Pokémon, Paul?" Ember asked.

"If you must know yes," Paul replied, "I found an Ursaring which proved its worth to be on my team. The Stantler I also caught proved to be worthless as it only knew Tackle."

That meant of course that Paul released Stantler after catching it. Ember wasn't happy of hearing this of course, but she didn't want to bother arguing with Paul about it.

"Well then, let's get going." Ember decided, glancing at the others.

Then they left, not glancing at Paul as they walked past him.

Unknown to Ember, Paul staring at her. He knew that Ember was a powerful trainer. He could easily tell after the first time they battled. But not as powerful as the person he wishes to defeat. He wanted to battle her, but he wanted to do his gym battle first before he battles her. Ember's Raichu was definitely powerful in her own rights. He could somewhat tell of the power that seems to radiate around her. He'll keep an eye on Ember and her Raichu.
