Chapter 16
When we arrive at Diglett's Cave, we feel an earthquake as we fall to the ground. Misty asks, "I wonder what that was?"
"It's over there." Insey says as we rush to what the commotion is. And we find out that there are lots of trucks moving to a construction site. And the trucks suddenly bend over and create a giant crash.
"What's going on?" Yellow asks.
"That's terrible!" Brock says.
Just then, we hear voices and then a Diglett pops in front of us. "A Diglett, we're close to the Diglett's Cave after all." Serena says.
A worker yells, "I can't stand Diglett anymore!"
We decide to check out what's the man's problem. I ask, "Are you alright?"
"It's the Diglett! They're destroying everything!" The man yells.
"But those Diglett are cute..." Before Insey can finish, the man yells, "You think they're cute, do you? Thanks to them we can't finish building that den! I hate Diglett!"
So they're trying to build a den, and I remember that we can see Diglett's movements from the upturned earth. It turns out that the earth is covered by concrete, but if we look closely, we can see movement in the form of small quakes and cracks.
"We even created a special division to create a strategy to fight off the Diglett. We're calling the real Pokemon Trainers to help us get rid of the Diglett! The reward of a six-night, seven-day-long stay at the Giva hot springs resort."
And at the same time, Gary Oak appears with buses of trainers. I say, "Really? You haven't gone that far ever since we met on S.S. Anne?"
"Well if it isn't Ash and his little friends. Always one step behind of everything, do you?" Gary taunts and Yellow is shocked to see a lot of cheerleaders behind him.
"Where are all the cheerleaders coming from?" Yellow asks.
"They are Gary Oak's personal cheerleader squad. Obviously, we could do the same thing, but we don't want to." Insey sighs.
Then the Forman asks them to chase away the Digletts, and they all leave while Ash and the others stay at the spot. When I notice the same first Diglett that pops in front of us, I decide to ask him.
"Hey, Diglett, can you tell me why are you doing this?"
"They are ruining our territory!" Diglett says. "But we are too nice to stop them."
"I see..." I say, "I don't think building a dam in Diglett's territory is a good idea..."
"So do you think we should persuade them to stop?" Serena asks. "How are we going to stop them?"
"I don't know, but Pokemon should understand..." I say as I turn to the Diglett, "Don't worry, we'll stop them for sure."
When we arrive at where the trainers are, they try to throw Pokeballs, but the Pokemon refuse to come out. Then the Digletts are nice to bring the Pokeballs back to the trainers.
"That sure is a giant pile of Pokeballs. And the Digletts are actually nice." Insey says.
"But what is actually going on here? Why aren't those Pokemon battling the Digletts?" Yellow asks.
"Of course, they don't want to battle the Digletts." I say. Then Gary sees any effort to stop the Diglett as pointless and drives away in his car, before leaving, he still doesn't forget to taunt me.
Then that night, Diglett decides to show us what the other Diglett has been doing. The trainers and the foreman are down in shame, but then Team Rocket comes again.
"Not them again..." Insey groans.
"Sorry, guys. But we're not in a mood for you right now." I mutter.
"But we're in a good enough mood for everyone!" Then much to our surprise, they manage to evolve their Ekans and Koffing into Arbok and Weezing.
"They manage to evolve those two Pokemon, but still, we can handle this." I say as I try sending out Charmeleon, Butterfree, and Alakazam. But we anime fall again after Charmeleon still refuses to listen to me.
"Come on... Charmeleon..." I mutter.
They try to use the Dig attack, but the Diglett and the Dugtrio are helping us by throwing both Arbok and Weezing out of the ground. Then they use the Earthquake attack to send Team Rocket flying. But the dam is also destroyed in the process.
"Sorry about the dam..." I say.
"It's fine, I've learned my lesson." The foreman says.
Then before we leave, the same Diglett wants to join our team, so we welcome the Diglett and capture him.
Diglett: The The Mole Pokemon: Ground Type. Lives about one yard underground where it feeds on plant roots. It sometimes appears above ground.
We are now out of the cave and we find ourselves at Route 2. "Now we are at Route 2 again..." Serena says, "I guess it isn't that bad..."
"Yeah, and we're going to go through Pewter, Mt. Moon, and then Cerulean City again, only that this time we are heading east instead of south." I say.
"If only we have a Hidden Machine for Fly." Misty says.
As we continue forward, Serena bumps into an invisible wall and falls down. I ask, "Serena, are you okay?"
"I am fine, but what is this?" She touches it and says, "How come there is an invisible wall?"
"I think it is the work of that Pokemon." Brock says as we find a Mr. Mime making invisible walls. Misty says, "That's a Mr. Mime!"
"Yeah, maybe we should capture it." Serena says while trying to throw the Pokeball, but the ball just hits the invisible wall and bounces off. I say, "Serena, try to throw it behind us."
"You mean, throw behind you? Why?" Insey asks.
"Just try it." I say with a smile. Serena does it and then the ball suddenly hits the wall and then it reflects in a different direction. In the end, it bounces to Mr. Mime and then captures it.
"How did the ball do that?" Yellow asks.
"Playing Pinball machine works after all." I say.
Mr. Mime: The Barrier Pokemon: Psychic and Fairy Type. Evolved from Mime Jr. by learning Mimic. If interrupted while it is miming, it will slap around the offender with its broad hands.
"That also reminds me, didn't our Mom have Mimey as well?" Insey asks.
"Yeah, although Mimey wouldn't have created invisible walls back at our house, he's good at cleaning and cooking after all." I say.
"But since she's the Champion, that means you would have to fight her Mr. Mime, right?" Brock says.
"I guess so." I say.
And then we find an assistant of Professor Oak, there he asks us to show him our Pokemon, after that, we get a Hidden Machine known as Flash.
"Well, we have Cut and Flash. I wonder how many Hidden Machines are there..." Insey says.
"We'll know once we continue our journey I assume." Ash says.
Just then, we get a call from Gary's sister, Daisy. Daisy says, "Hello, Ash, how is your journey?"
"It's fine, but it is quite rare to see you calling for us. What's the matter?" I ask.
"I am now at Route 22, do you think we can meet up there? I have something that I need to tell you." Daisy says.
We are confused as we head to Route 22, and when we get there, Serena asks, "So Daisy, what seems to be the problem?"
Daisy says, "My grandfather is asking me to do research, have you heard of Titan Pokemon?"
I ask, "You mean Pokemon who usually grow larger than normal? In the Alola Region, they are also treated as Totem Pokemon that give out the Z Crystals. But why are you asking us about this?"
Daisy says, "Well, Titan Pokemon now appear in every region, and there are a number of five Titan Pokemon located in the Kanto Region."
"No way... what are they doing there?" Insey asks.
"We don't know, but the reason why I ask you is that I heard from the Storage System Master Bill that you've encountered the Titan Dragonite at the Cerulean Cape, right? Can you tell me what it looks like?"
We decide to tell her everything about the giant Dragonite, and then she says, "If that's the case, it might be better if I give you this."
When she shows a badge, this causes Yellow and I to widen our eyes. Yellow asks, "You made badges as well?"
"These are more like the disused badges from the past League. I know you like to help people out, so I feel like you should have something in return. This was meant for a Dragon Gym, but you see that the only Dragon Pokemon native to Kanto is the Dragonite line. So this is the Scale Badge."
"Okay. So not only Yellow, even you are giving me a badge. Maybe I really can get a number of 18 badges in Kanto." I chuckle. "So that's it?"
"There's still more. Rumors have it that there is a large Fearow that seems like a Titan Pokemon around here. I was hoping to find it so I can record about him."
"That is not going to be easy..." Insey says.
With our Fearow's help, we manage to locate the leader Fearow which assumes to be the Titan Pokemon. And we make sure not to fight them while having both Fearow talking to the leader and proving how strong they have become under our leadership. In the end, the Fearow asks us to continue training the two Fearow while leaving with his flock.
"So have you recorded everything from the Fearow battles?" I ask after recalling both Fearow.
"Of course, thank you so much for helping. I think this will be another badge for you." Daisy gives me the new badge called the Cloud Badge, it was meant for the Flying Gym. And after we're done, we bid Daisy farewell and continue heading to Cerulean City.
"If we add Yellow and Daisy's badges, you have 7 badges already." Serena says.
"Yeah. Technically only 3 of them are usable in the League." I say.
When we continue to train our Pokemon, we also evolve our Oddish and Bellsprout into their middle forms.
Gloom: The Weed Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Oddish at LV:21. The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn't drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey.
"Although it is a good Pokemon, but I don't like the smell of the Stench..." Serena says.
"Don't worry, we'll get used to it." I say.
Weepinbell: The Fly Catcher Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Bellsprout at LV:21. It spits out PoisonPowder to immobilize the enemy and then finishes it with a spray of Acid.
"And Weepinbell looks a little creepy..." Misty says.
"I think it is fine for me." Insey says.
Then we also use our Leaf Stone that we got when we get back to the Rock Type House in Mt. Moon to evolve four Pokemon into their final forms.
Vileplume: The Flower Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Gloom with a Leaf Stone. The larger its petals, the more toxic pollen it contains. Its big head is heavy and hard to hold up.
Victreebel: The Fly Catcher Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. Evolved from Weepinbell with a Leaf Stone. Said to live in huge colonies deep in jungles, although no one has ever returned from there.
Here is a new chapter, and I also intend to add Titan Pokemon in every region so that Ash can get 18 badges in one region. I hope you like this chapter and the next one will be the Butterfree episode.
