Chapter 35

We finally arrive at Seafoam Islands, and after we decide to take a rest, we decide to capture some Pokemon. We notice a Pokemon that catches our eye: A Slowpoke.

"A Slowpoke... you know, a lot of trainers have complained to Professor Oak that despite Slowpoke becoming Level 37, it still doesn't evolve. But if you have a Shellder then it is a different story." I say.

Pikachu tries to talk to Slowpoke, but Slowpoke doesn't seem to say something. And then Misty's Psyduck tries to talk to Slowpoke, and the only things they say are Hello in a slow tone, and they are repeating the same words. When a Krabby comes and pinches the tail, Slowpoke doesn't seem to have any reaction, but for Psyduck, it takes a long time before it starts yelling in pain.

"I guess it takes quite a while for Psyduck to feel pain..." Misty mutters.

Slowpoke also seems to be having its tail in the water while fishing, and Yellow asks, "So what does a Slowbro look like?"

I show her the dex, and she says, "So you're saying that the shell with eyes on the tail is a Shellder? But it looks spiral..."

"Yeah... Most of the Professors are trying to figure out why it attaches to the tail." I say.

Much to our annoyance, Team Rocket appears once more and they even get a Shellder of their own, they are trying to force Slowpoke to evolve and then capture it. When Shellder notices Slowpoke, Slowpoke starts to run.

"Wow... now it's not a Slowpoke..." Insey says.

"This is not the time to say something like this! We have to help the Slowpoke!" Then we try to stop the Shellder, but Psyduck appears once more and they try to start a meaningless conversation again. But the Shellder bites Psyduck's tail, and Yellow asks, "Is that supposed to do something?"

"Nothing. Psyduck evolves into Golduck at Level 33." I say, and the Psyduck is now running in pain, then James uses Weezing and it keeps attacking Psyduck's head, what a stupid move, now that Psyduck has a headache, it goes for Confusion and sends Team Rocket into the sea. But much to our surprise, the Shellder then bites the Slowpoke's tail.

"No way..." We gasp as the Slowpoke starts to evolve into a Slowbro. But much to our surprise, Team Rocket already swims back to the shore and is about to grab the Slowbro, but Slowbro just uses a Mega Punch, and this time they are sent flying for real.

"Wow... I didn't know it can use Mega Punch..." Insey says.

"So why does Shellder bites on Slowpoke's tail?" Yellow asks.

"Because it is mutually beneficial. Shellder helps Slowbro balance when it stands on two feet, that way he can use Mega Punch, and Shellder gains land transportation on Slowpoke's tail."

"Wow... that makes sense." Misty says.

And then we capture the Slowbro and now it is one of our teammates.

Slowpoke: The Dopey Pokemon: Water and Psychic Type. Incredibly slow and dopey. It takes 5 seconds for it to feel pain when under attack.

Slowbro: The Hermit Crab Pokemon: Water and Psychic Type. Evolved from Slowpoke at LV:37. The Shellder that is latched onto Slowpoke's tail is said to feed on the host's leftover scraps.

When we enter the Seafoam Islands' cave, it starts to get cold and Serena says, "This place is a little freezing..."

"There are a lot of Ice Type Pokemon living here, that's why." I say. And we manage to find a Dewgong while walking around the cave. With the help of Hitmonchan, it uses Thunder Punch to paralyze the Pokemon, and eventually Serena captures it.

Seel: The Sea Lion Pokemon: Water Type. The protruding horn on its head is very hard. It is used for bashing through thick ice.

Dewgong: The Lion Pokemon: Water and Ice Type. Evolved from Seel LV:34. Stores thermal energy in its body. Swims at a steady 8 knots even in intensely cold waters.

And after capturing the Dewgong, we also find two more Pokemon. One is a Seadra and the other is a Staryu. We battle both of them and capture them in the end.

Horsea: The Dragon Pokemon: Water Type. Known to shoot down flying bugs with precision blasts of ink from the surface of the water.

Seadra: The Dragon Pokemon: Water Type. Evolved from Horsea at LV:32. Capable of swimming backwards by rapidly flapping its wing-like pectoral fins and stout tail.

Staryu: The Star Shape Pokemon: Water Type. An enigmatic Pokémon that can effortlessly regenerate any appendage it loses in battle.

We also use another Water Stone to evolve Staryu into a Starmie.

Starmie: The Mysterious Pokemoon: Water and Psychic Type. Evolved from Staryu with a Water Stone. Its central core glows with the seven colors of the rainbow. Some people value the core as a gem.

And finally, Serena finds another Ice Type Pokemon that we can catch. "Ash, there is a Jynx."

"It sure looks just like a human if you ask me." Ash says and the others agrees, Serena uses Golem to battle against this Pokemon this time, and eventually, Golem was hit by the Lovely Kiss as he just falls asleep.

"Oh come on..." I mutter as I quickly use the Awakening to wake it up, and then Golem defeats it with Rollout.

Jynx: The Human Shape Pokemon: Ice and Psychic Type. Evolved from Smoochum at LV:30. It seductively wiggles its hips as it walks. It can cause people to dance in unison with it.

We also meet up with Daisy again, and this time she's researching a group of Lapras. My own Lapras tries to approach the school and calls out, but everyone ignores it. One of the Lapras, a teal-colored one, tries to return the call, but the others push it away. One of the Lapras even attacks with Water Gun before using Mist to escape.

"Why did they do that?" Yellow asks in confusion.

Daisy says, "The Lapras might be scared of humans due to a previous attack. I heard that there are some Pokemon poachers in the vicinity."

"Poachers?" I ask.

"They are pirates led by the notorious Captin Crook." Daisy says, and then we notice the same pirates are trying to attack the Lapras. We try to stop them, and they are shooting cannonballs at my Lapras. The teal one, which turns out to be Lapras' mother, takes the hit and is now bleeding.

"Mother!" Ash's Lapras calls out in shock. Her mother is bleeding and making the water red.

And now I'm furious and I decide to show my true powers. I use Ice Beam on the Pirate Ship, and by checking their auras, they don't deserve prison but death. I kill every one of them and the ship sunk into the bottom of the ocean.

"Mother, please be okay!" Lapras cries.

Mother Lapras says, "Child… you grown so well…" She starts to close her eyes.

"No, please wake up!" Lapras calls in tears.

I rush towards the teal Lapras and try to heal her with Healing Wish, and she starts to recover but I feel dizzy and pass out a little. When I wake up again, I notice that I'm lying in my sleeping bag with Serena and Yellow by my side.

"What happened to the Lapras?" I ask, and Serena says, "Lapras and her mother are fine. Daisy has the medicine to heal her after she passed out, which is very reckless. Why did you use Healing Wish?"

"I'm sorry..." I mutter with a frown.

After the Lapras got better, we decide to bring the Lapras to my Mom, that way she'll be safe. Our own Lapras on the other hand still wants to travel with us.

Before we leave the Seafoam Islands, Daisy says, "Well, even though I didn't see a Titan Pokemon around the Seafoam Islands, but I think you can have this."

She gives me another one of the custom badges, this time it is shaped like a shell called the Shell Badge. I thank Daisy and we continue to ride on Lapras and head to Cinnabar Island.

When we arrive at the island, we are surprised to see Gary there. "The Cinnabar Island is a tourist resort, Pokémon Trainers have not ventured to Cinnabar Island since the days of Gramps. So if you are here for the gym, I think you should give up."

"There's no way that we're going to give up finding the gym." I say. "And besides, we're not only here for the gym, we're also here for the Pokemon Mansion and the Fossil Lab."

Then we decide to ignore Gary and head to the Pokemon Lab. Once we are inside, we look around and they even see the photo of Mr. Fuji when he is younger, and we also see some scientists as they are telling them about what the Pokemon Lab does.

As we finally get to the test room, we see a scientist who is standing next to a fossil restoration machine, he asks, "Hello, visitors, here I study rare Pokemon Fossils, do you have a fossil for me? I can revive them for you."

We take out four fossils, Dome Fossil, two Helix Fossil, and the Old Amber to the scientist, as he puts them into some kind of machine. When they are waiting, the scientist asks, "So how did you three young trainers manage to find these three fossils?"

"Well, they used to belong to our father, but he gave them to us in Mt. Moon and we have been carrying them throughout our journey."

"I see." The scientist says as they hear a sound, meaning that the fossil restoration is done. "It seems like the fossil restoration is completed." As he sends out the three Pokemon, there is two Omanyte, a Kabuto, and an Aerodactyl.

"Wow, science is so amazing." I say as they see the four Pokemon in front of them.

"Since this Pokemon is revived, they are foreign to this new world, so please take good care of these guys."

We nod as we capture the Pokemon, and Yellow also decides to name her Omanyte Omny

Omanyte: The Spiral Pokemon: Rock and Water Type. Although long extinct, in rare cases, it can be genetically resurrected from fossils.

Kabuto: The Shellfish Pokemon: Rock and Water Type. A Pokémon that was resurrected from a fossil found in what was once the ocean floor eons ago.

Aerodactyl: The Fossil Pokemon: Rock and Flying Type. A ferocious, prehistoric Pokémon that goes for the enemy's throat with its serrated saw-like fangs.

Before we leave the lab, we also find some scientists that are interested in trading Pokemon, but we really don't want to trade Pokemon since we already have most of the Pokemon they have there, so we decide to leave the lab and find the Pokemon Gym.
