Chapter 48
Now that I got the first medal, all that's left on the Sevii Islands is to give the Sapphire to Celio and explore both Five Island and Seven Island.
On Five Island, we head to Memorial Pillar, we leave a lemonade for the trainer who lost his Onix there, and we head to the Water Labyrinth, and when we finish the maze, we met an old man, who gives me a familiar egg.
"I received that egg while I was traveling. I'm glad I met someone like you." The man says before leaving.
"So we got an egg..." Serena says.
"Look at the pattern! It's the same as Togepi!" Misty says as Togepi also agrees.
"Looks like we're having our own Togepi after all." I say.
Then we go to Resort Gorgeous, and we heard that the owner named Selphy is lost in the Lost Cave. Lost Cave is a tiny island cave that is always covered in heavy fog from the ocean. Because of this, visitors are easily disoriented and often find themselves back at the entrance. But the way to solve the riddle is to take note of the rocks in each room, and the number indicates the clock position of the path forward. If we travel in the opposite direction, then we'll be getting an item instead.
And when we find Selphy, she says, "W-what do you intend to do with me?"
Then she tries to protect herself by sending out two Persians. We say, "Wait, we're here to bring you out since we heard you're lost."
"Oh! I'm so glad that you happened here. I grew rather bored of walking and I am feeling fatigued." Then we bring her back to the resort, and then we decide to leave for Seven Island.
"Seven Island is the southernmost of the Sevii Islands, and the farthest from mainland Kanto. Its remote location attracts few visitors, which allows most of the island to exist in its natural, undisturbed state." Tracy says.
"Yeah, it sure is a great place." Serena says.
Then we have a situation where Snorlax's Pokeball is broken and we have to fix it, without the Pokeball, Snorlax is now out and trying to eat every food on the island. There is a food shortage because of the shipment caused by the storm, but Nurse Joy manages to calm the crowd that the delayed shipment will arrive by airdrop. Team Rocket tries to take away the shipment in exchange for Pikachu and Meowsie, and they even have Meowth use some super armor, good thing that Snorlax returns and manages to defeat Meowth and send them flying with a Hyper Beam.
It is also a good thing that Snorlax's Pokeball is fixed by Nurse Joy, we call him back before he can eat the shipment of food. And after we leave, we go to the Trainer Tower, a facility where challengers can participate in several different battle modes: Single, Double, Knockout, and Mixed. The goal is to battle through eight floors of opponents and reach the rooftop as soon as possible; beating the default time for each mode earns challengers a rare item. Battles do not award experience or money, and the levels of the opposing Trainers' Pokémon match that of the player's highest-leveled party Pokémon. And we got some items for the Trading Evolutions, much to our delight.
And before we leave the island, we also explore the Tanoby Ruins, in the ruins, there are chambers, and with the puzzle in Tanoby Key cleared, several forms of Unown can now be found in each chamber.
Back at One Island, we show the Sapphire to Celio. "So this is the gem that forms a pair with the Ruby... You've gone through a lot to get this, didn't you? You don't have to tell me. I know it wasn't easy. Thank you so much! Now it's my turn to work for you! Please give me a little time."
As he puts the gem on the machine, it starts to work and Celio says, "I did it! I linked up with Lanette! I did it! I've managed to link up with Trainers in the Hoenn region! Finally, the Network Machine is fully operational! I owe it all to you! Thanks to you, my dream came true..."
"No problem." We smile as we all head back to Pallet Town. When we arrive at our house, we heard a voice, "Is that you, Ash?"
We are shocked to see Brock in our house, and all of a sudden the floor is too slippery. Insey says, "Brock! What are you doing here?"
But Brock didn't answer us first before turning to Tracy, "And you must be Tracy, right?"
"Yeah, that's me." Tracy sweatdrops.
Then Brock suddenly prepares tea for us, and when we ask what he's doing here, he suddenly kneels down and mutters, "Ugh... that name... I don't want to talk about it..."
"She must have dumped him, this always happen." Serena sighs.
"You're finally home!" We finally see my Mom, Palmer, and surprisingly, Leaf. I ask, "Leaf? What are you doing here?"
Leaf says, "What do you think? I'm part of the family now."
"Wait, what?" Insey and I yell in surprise, my Mom says, "We tried to search for Leaf's old parents, but it turns out that her parents are already dead a few years ago by a plane crash."
"No way... I'm sorry to hear that..." Serena says.
"I've never heard of them since I was five, so I guess I don't know how to feel. But your mother is nice, I get to become a family member!" Leaf smiles.
"So you're not going to steal things anymore, I see." I say with a smile.
Misty then whispers, "Palmer? How long has Brock been here?"
Palmer says, "Well, a week ago, we accidentally find him lying on the ground. We brought him back and ask if he knows what happened, but he refused to talk about it. He's been a big help in our house, although he's trying to take Mimey's chores and Mimey doesn't like it."
Then with Tracy wants to meet Professor Oak, we decide to go there together. But just when we get there, we finally find him and Tracy starts to show him his sketches. I also hand him the GS Ball and say, "Sorry, I took so long to give you this."
"Ah! The mysterious GS Ball." Professor Oak. "I'll be giving this examination this night."
Then Tracy wants to look around the place, and Professor Oak decides to give him a tour. When Tracy is drawing, Professor Oak wants to watch, this causes Tracy to jump with embarrassment.
"Your drawing is interesting." Professor Oak says.
"You really think so? Actually, I picked on some of my best sketches even though I'm not that good, I am wondering if you can take a good look at some of them."
Insey says, "Believe me, Professor, you really need to see his works."
"I'll be happy to see what you brought." Professor Oak says.
When Tracy is getting nervous about Professor Oak watching his work, Insey has been helping him calm down and relax. But before he can give any opinions, we find that the lab is surrounded by a giant tent. It turns out to be Team Rocket who tries to get our Pokemon again.
I decide to go with Muk, but Muk keeps hugging me and Professor Oak says, "That Muk really likes hugging humans."
They try to use Lickitung and Victreebel to attack Muk, but Muk has been dodging the attacks. But then they play dirty and trap us with some bindings and then take out a giant vacuum to suck the Pokeballs.
"But then, the tent is cut open and Gary is the one who calls Nidoqueen to attack Team Rocket. Then he helps us send them flying again. "I wouldn't have let them take Gramps for the second time."
I also manage to find the GS Ball, which was almost being taken by Team Rocket as well. Gary then ask, "So have you challenged any Elite Four member yet?"
"I finished battling Lorelei and got the medal." I say back.
"I thought you would lose against them, but I see you're as strong as always." Gary says, "How about a one-on-one?"
"You bet." I say.
Then after we stand on the sides, I go with Pikachu and Gary says, "Just as I thought, good choice."
Then he sends out an Eevee, Serena says, "You're using Eevee?"
I have Pikachu use Quick Attack, and Gary tells Eevee to use Reflect. A barrier forms around Eevee, and Pikachu rams into it, dissipating it and sending Eevee into the air. Eevee lands without any discernible damage done. I have Pikachu use Thunderbolt, but Gary tells his Eevee to use Double Team. Eevee performs the move, and Pikachu attempts to use Thunderbolt on all of them.
When Pikachu misses every one of them, I yell, "Pikachu! Don't waste all of your electricity!"
Gary commands Eevee to use Take Down, while Ash commands Pikachu to use Agility; Pikachu's attack stops Eevee in its tracks. "Pikachu! Let's try this! Iron Tail!"
"Use your Skull Bash!" Gary yells.
And both Pokemon collide at the same time, but with both sides still panting. Professor Oak decides to call the match, and says, "Both of you have done a good job. Looks like your training has paid off."
"Thanks, but I still have a lot of work to do." Gary says, "You did a great job, Ash."
Then he decides to leave, and then Leaf asks, "So who is the next Elite Four member you're going to battle next?"
"I'm going to challenge Bruno, he might be near Rock Tunnel." I say.
Then Professor Oak tries to research the GS Ball, but nothing has been found about it so far. I decide to ask, "Professor, did you know where Gary is going?"
"I thought you know about it. Gary is going to head out west to the Johto Region and enter the League there. Seeing how you have won the Kanto League, he has been training all this time so that he can be on par with you as the League winner."
"I see. I really wanted to go there, but I still need to battle the Elite Four of Kanto first." I say.
Then Professor Oak wants me to bring the GS Ball to a man named Kurt, who is known as the Pokeball designer. He lives in Azalea Town, so we decide to keep it with me. Although Tracy and Insey decide to stay at the lab because Tracy is going to be Professor Oak's assistant and Insey wants to stay home for a while before going on another journey.
And now, the five of us are heading towards Rock Tunnel, it is where my Mom said Bruno will be located.
Here is a new chapter, and we're about to end the Kanto Story, so Insey and Tracy aren't going to appear in the rest of the chapters. The next chapter will be capturing Zapdos and battling Bruno.
