It was 4 and the clock seemed to be speeding up every second as Rory watched the minutes fly by. She hoped that she would be able to explain to Logan that she didn't want him back. She had on a pretty blue dress but she had been especially careful not to wear a dress she associated with Logan. That was hard, almost all her best clothes had some memory of he saying it looked nice or a memory of him putting his body up against the fabric. She had eventually driven to stars hollow and taken the blue dress out of her mother's wardrobe.

DING DONG DING DONG.

Oh Fuck. He was here. She peeped out the window to see a flashy silver car that she remembered oh so well.

It was so hard to make her feet move to the door, but finally she opened it. There he stood.

As gorgeous as she had remembered, with soft blond hair flopping everywhere and that smile on his face that delicately crinkled the edge of his big chocolate brown eyes. That grin on his face she knew made her heartbeat stutter.

"L-logan, I'm not sure this is a go-" rory started to say.

"Not the best of greetings ace, I must say" he said stepping through the door and interrupting her

"You are not getting out of this dinner with me" he said.

He pulled her closer and embraced her in one of those comforting hugs that only he could truly perfect in all it's glory.

"I am more determined about this than I have ever been about anything, ace. And that's saying something" he said not letting her go as he whispered in her ear.

"Logan, I really don't get why you're here, we went our own ways" Rory said trying hard to think logically and not to let the perfectness of him overwhelm her.

"I tried to accept what you said 2 years ago but I can't live without you and I don't believe you can live without me" Logan said smiling.

Rory sighed "You've always had confidence Hunzberger, I'll give you that" she huffed.

"It's in my blood" He said.

He intwined her hands in his and pulled her out the door, her cheeks heated up and her brain went into overdrive as she tried so hard to concentrate and not let her feelings penetrate her actions. She tried to yank her hands away but Logan said,

"C'mon Ace, you promised to give me a night to make you feel fabulous like the old days, so don't spoil it Gilmore" he grinned one of those humorous smiles

"I didn't promise anythi-" Rory tried to protest but it was too late because Logan had pulled her into his car beside him.

She grabbed at the car doors but they were child locked.

"Childlock?! Really? That's a low blow even for you Hunzberger" She said huffily

"This is kidnap" she said but couldn't help adding a smile.

"I brought coffee though, to make up for it ace" Logan said nodding his head towards the mother board.

Despite herself, Rory was craving coffee so she happily opened the storage and took out a big Starbucks black coffee. She sipped it, it tasted even better than usual.

"You remember how I like my coffee?" Rory asked, genuinely softened by his gesture.

"You didn't think I'd forget, did you? I have been thinking about you every second of every day" Logan said reaching out to take her hand, other hand on the wheel.

"Logan," Rory said sadly,

"We don't belong together, We can't belong together, we have different goals and dreams. This can't work even if miracles did exist" she said in a serious voice.

His face crumpled for a second and then a look of anger and sadness crossed his face,

"We can make this work, We will make this work" he said gripping her hand tightly.

"Logan I wish it could but-" Rory started.

"It's my night out not yours remember ace?" Logan said that little grin back on his face.

A silence filled the car, Rory carefully studied Logan's face, she couldn't tell if he was genuinely happy and confident or he was a better actor than before. His hands were stroking her shoulder and every movement sent a ripple down her body.

"We've arrived ace!" Logan said.

Rory paused, this wasn't her grans house-
