Rory stood up with Logan, she felt rather sleepy, he slung an arm around her as she shivered with cold. He pulled her against him so that his natural body heat warmed her. That felt very good. Too good.
"So, what now?" she asked, groaning at the thought of having to walk all the way back to the car.
"What do you mean, ace?" he asked smiling and bending his head down to kiss the very top of her head.
"Well, where are we going?" Rory said, trying not to fall asleep in his arms as they walked.
"To the car, and then I'm driving you straight home, and then you need to get some sleep, sleepyhead" Logan said grinning as she demonstrated his point with a particularly large yawn.
"And you?" She asked.
"Well I'll let you sleep, what else would I do, Gilmore?"
"Your leaving!?" Rory asked a violent flow of panic spreading through her.
"Rory, I had tonight to show you we can work. Ace, I love you with all my heart and always will, it is up to you to decide if you accept me back or not" he said, very serious.
Rory was too tired for this, "Logan, I'm too tired, just don't leave! I can't make a decision in this state but the one thing I'm sure of is I don't want you to leave forever." Rory said struggling to get her point through before she fell asleep.
Logan pulled her into his car, turning on the engine,
"I'll do whatever you want me to do, ace, that's the one thing I can promise" he said, beginning to drive.
She bent her head against his shoulder, as the vibrations of the car gently rocked her,
She struggled with the deep blackness every time she closed her eyes,
"Before I fall asleep, which is inevitable, will you please tell me how on earth you got a fancy restaurant into the middle of the forest?" she said smiling.
"Ahhh, but that would be telling, wouldn't it, Gilmore" he said tapping her on the nose.
"Please just tell me that one little secret?" she said letting out a smile despite herself.
"That would spoil the magic of it, would it not?" He whispered in her ears, eyes on the road.
Rory considered that for a second, realising that she rather liked that air of playful mystery around Logan. It was the one of many things that when put together made her love him so very much.
"yes, I suppose that's true" she said, huffing.
"Well then" Logan said, smiling down at her.
"You really do need to get some sleep now, ace" Logan said
"And your going to be here when I wake up?" she asked tightening her hold on his shoulder.
"As long as you don't tell me to go away, I shall never leave you- well not for long anyway" Logan answered.
Rory mulled over his answer, trying to decipher his feelings,
"Do you honestly think this relationship could work, happily?" Rory asked looking deep into his eyes.
"Are you happy, ace?" he asked, stroking her hair.
She thought carefully, "Happier than I've been in these 2 years"
"I'm happy too" he said beaming down at her.
"So that answers your question" Logan whispered.
Rory was content with that answer, she leaned her head against his shoulder, nuzzled into his arm, closed her eyes, and let the rocking motion of the car and the blackness around her, engulf her. She let out a smile as she fell into sleep.
