Logan smiled at her gesturing to the table where two big bowls of icecreams awaited them. He took her hand and pulled her with him and then plonked her down onto one of the chairs. She laughed at his eagerness.
"I must say, Huntzberger, that this is most impressive" she said as she took a bite.
"Glad you like it" he said as he took a bite, smiling at her.
"Can I ask a question?" she said biting her lip anxiously.
"Of course Ace, I'll answer whatever you like" he said stroking her hair.
"It's just that well, this 2 days have been the best in 2 years and- if- I mean if your so eager, I mean, why prolong It for 2 years?" she asked trying to get the words out right.
Logan smiled sadly,
"Well, I was engaged" he said avoiding her eye looking down.
"you don't have to hide it from me, this time I really do admit we were separated, you had every right to have another relationship, but I mean if you want to tell me, what went wrong?" she said trying to be gentle.
After a silence, Rory was desperate to know what Logan was feeling so she took her hand and gently used it to pull up Logan's face so his eyes were on hers.
He sighed, "After you said no, I just, I suppose the word that describes it is depression. I've always loved you and I wasn't used to anyone rejecting me, especially someone I loved so much." He paused looking into her eyes. His eyes melting hers.
"Then I met Stella, she was the first girl I had a relationship with after you. I don't think I cared about her I was just feeling so lonely that I got together with the first girl I met. And then one thing turned to another and we were engaged" He said, slight bitterness in his voice.
"And then?" Rory asked gently stroking his cheek.
"It was 3 weeks before our wedding when I realised, she would never be good enough. I liked Stella, but not nearly as much as I love you. Deep in my heart I knew that even on our wedding day it would be you in my mind not her" he said, suddenly sad.
"I felt so bloody bad Rory, more than you can imagine" he said bowing his head.
Rory imagined his pain.
"I'm sorry" she said trying to relieve his sudden sadness.
"No, I was the monster. I was sad, but I shouldn't have spoilt Stella's life, I left her 3 weeks before our wedding. 3 weeks Rory, 3 weeks!" he said fiercely.
He seemed to calm at her touch and sighed and finished his story,
"And then I knew that I had to come and try to gain you back, because I would be unhappy with anybody but you, and I guess you know the rest of the story" he said indicating around.
Rory shuffled her chair closer to him, leaning her head onto the side of his chest.
"This is not your fault Ace" Logan said his normal playful manor returning.
"Since we are on the serious topics, what about you Gilmore, have you been a good girl in those 2 years" he said nudging her in the ribs to release the tense ice like silence.
"Well, to be honest, ever since you left, I haven't been interested in any guys, Mum was actually getting quite worried about me because all the handsome guys we used to talk about don't excite me anymore. It was weird, like their was no other guy in the world" she said a little confusion in her voice.
Logan pulled her into his chest.
"I knew that deep in there you still loved me Gilmore" he said stroking her heart tenderly.
"Yes" Rory said unsure.
"Certainly" Logan said smiling.
They munched their icecream for a while, both happy with the others presence,
"I love you Rory" Logan whispered in her ear.
"I think I love you too" Rory replied as electricity shot down her as Logan kissed the top of her head.
