"Are you sure that this is the right house, dude?" Candy asked as she hesitantly got out of the car, with Crystal following soon after. "Please tell me your friends aren't actually hanging out here."
"This is where we'd usually go whenever we don't feel like hanging out at either the forest, graveyard, junkyard, or any of our houses." Crystal explains as she walked over to the front-gate. "Also, from right here, I can easily see Ray's bicycle leaning against the side of the porch; so, yeah, they're here." After she opened the front-gate, she then turned to look at Candy again, who was now completely reluctant to go through with this. "Well, are you coming with me or what, dude?"
"Uh..." Candy's eyes peered around the area for a second or two, before she eventually responds. "Y-You know, I'm starting to think that this might be-"
"Crystal!" A female voice shouts from somewhere near the house, causing both tomboys to quickly turn their heads towards that direction.
Coming from the side of the house, Crystal could see one of her goth friends running up to her with a cute smile on her face. Out of all the members of her clique, this one certainly stood out from the rest: her hair was black and extremely messy, and one could easily see fangs coming out of her mouth from a mile away; her outfit consists a purple Japanese dress with a dark pink corset around her torso, as well as a few white belts that were wrapped around her waist. All of this, combined with her super-hyper personality, it was easy to tell for many-especially Crystal-who this girl was.
"Hey Yuki." Crystal causally says as the girl with fangs coming running up to her. "Glad to see you first, as I always do."
"Oh, don't be silly; you don't always see Yuki every time you-" Yuki began speaking, only to immediately stop as soon as she notices Candy standing next to them, causing the former's smile to falter. "W-Who's this?" She asked in an uncomfortable tone of voice. "Her bright colors confuse and scare Yuki..."
"Yuki, this is my best friend, Katie's cousin, Candy." Crystal told the goth with fangs, before turning her attention back over to the party girl. "Candy, this is Yuki; I believe I've mentioned her to you before I've left you guys last night."
"I might've overheard you mentioning something about going to see a girl like her for lunch." Candy says while nodding her nod. "So far, she doesn't seem very scary for a-"
"Are you saying that Yuki's not scary?" Yuki asked, now glaring at the party girl with her arms crossed, leaning closer to the latter's face.
"Uh...no, no, Yuki's scary." Candy says while holding up both of her hands in a defensive manner.
"Thank you." Yuki replied with the same exact cute smile she had when she first got out here. "Why are we sitting out here for?" She then asked, grabbing a hold of the party girl's hand. "Let's get inside so we can introduce you to the rest of the gang! You're so going to like meeting them!"
"Actually, I was just about to-" Candy wasn't able to finish the rest of her sentence, as she was grabbed by the wrist and pulled towards the porch by Yuki.
"Oh, don't be such a chump, new girl." Yuki says as she continued to pull Candy towards the porch.
"Wait, no, I-" The party girl turned her head towards Crystal, who was just staring at the two walking past her. "Dude, are you just gonna stand there?! Tell this psycho to let go of me!"
"Sorry, dude; when Yuki's in control, there's no trying to talk her out of anything." Crystal told the party girl, continuing to watch the two head up to the front-door of the abandoned house. "By the way, she has a tendency to bite other people's faces, so...don't think about letting go of her if you don't want THAT to happen..."
"Oh, God...why did I agree to come out here?" Candy asked herself, right before she and Yuki approached the front-porch.
"Goth Boy!!!" Yuki shouts in a singsonging fashion, all while kicking the already-broken door open while pulling Candy by the wrist as they went inside. "We have ourselves a little guest here today!"
Upon entering the house, Candy couldn't help but look around the interior; and oh boy, was it just as bad in here as it is outside, except a bit worse. The boards-most notably the ones on the ceiling above-were old, broken, some wet from rain, and moments away from breaking apart; and there were noticeable holes on the floor below, where one could easily see the basement underneath. It's not clear what it looks like upstairs, and it doesn't look like it's a good idea to go check it out whatsoever; some of the boards that make up the steps were either already broken, or missing. Most of the furniture was also moments away from falling apart, just from the looks of them, with the exception of the couch, which strangely looked like it was brought in here recently. There were also bats hanging from the ceiling, glaring down at the party girl as she stared up at them.
Upon entering the living-room, Yuki motions Candy over to the couch. "You just wait here." The former says, patting the latter on her shoulder. "Yuki'll get her boyfriend." She then skips off into the kitchen, leaving the party girl by herself for a few seconds, before eventually, Crystal came walking in from the main-hallway.
"Thanks for not stopping her..." Candy muttered as she glared at her cousin's best friend. "You standing there and letting her bring me in here really helped."
"Hey, you were the one who wanted to meet some of my friends." Crystal says with a smirk, much to the party girl's dismay.
"Yeah, but that was before I found out that you and your buddies hang in a place like this."
"Don't say that in front of Goth Boy, because he was the one who thought that this house was worth all of us hanging out in years ago." Crystal told the blonde girl, sitting down onto a wooden chair that was next to the entrance to the kitchen. "He found this place when he was walking around the neighborhood by himself one night, trying to think of where to go to for one of his dates with Yuki."
"I'm guessing he thought this place was romantic enough for him and Yuki to hang out in, hmm?"
"He was also trying to think of where he and the others could hang out at, since his dad was getting annoyed with him inviting them to his house, so..."
"What do you mean you just invited her in?" A male voice asked, coming from the kitchen.
Both tomboys turned their heads towards where the kitchen's walkway was, seeing Yuki walking back in with two boys following behind her. One of the two boys had black hair with one part of it covering one of his eyes and dyed red; and his outfit consisted of a black tank-top that revealed his bulky arms, gray pants, and dark gray boots. The other boy was much more skinnier than the other, with light brown well-combed hair; and his outfit consisted of a long dark purple jacket with a white button-down shirt under it, as well as some black dress-pants to go along with them. Both of them immediately noticed the party girl sitting on the couch, prompting both of them to look at her in a mixture of surprise and confusion; however, the one who was more bulky appeared to be more annoyed than his friend was.
"Yuki, who the hell is this?" The slightly-muscular goth asked, pointing at Candy. "I thought I told you not to invite anyone else into this house."
"Yuki wasn't the one who brought her here though." Yuki stated, before she turned her head towards the more tomboyish of the two goth girls. "She actually came with Crystal."
"Crystal..."
"Hey, I tried to talk her out of it, Goth Boy; but she-who's Katie Morris's cousin, by the way-wanted to come out here to meet you guys, since me and her are kinda friend-ish now." Crystal explained before turning her head towards Candy. "But don't worry about her though, because she's not staying here for too long."
"Yeah, what she said." Candy says in agreement, nodding her head while pointing to Crystal.
"Well, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, uh..." The boy with the brown hair started off saying, before proceeding to raise an eyebrow at Candy in confusion. "I'm sorry, what's your name?"
"The name's Candy, but you can call me 'DJ Candy', if you want, or 'SuperGroove'."
"Oh, great...she's the party type..." The bulky goth, Goth Boy, muttered under his breath while rolling his eyes. "I like her already..." He continued to mutter in a dry, sarcastic tone, only to be elbowed to stop by his friend.
"Well, party type or not, it's still wonderful to meet you nonetheless." The brown-haired goth says with a relaxed smile on his face. "My name's Ray Frowler, and he's Goth Boy; our group's leader, and arguably, one of my closest friends-if not the closest-in this whole, entire town."
"Well, with how calm and polite you seem to be compared to him, I'm surprised that you're not this group's leader, handsome." Candy told Ray, which causes Goth Boy to glare at the former, becoming even more annoyed by her overall presence. "You also look cooler too."
Yuki scoffed after hearing that comment. "If you think he's cooler than my boyfriend, then you should have been here when he took part in our school's 'Romeo and Juliet' play during our senior year." She stated in a sarcastic tone of voice, causing Ray to lower his head with a blush appearing on his face.
"Also, Ray's already got a girlfriend, Candy." Crystal told the party girl, glaring at her so that she can step away from the taller goth. "So don't even try flirting with him."
"I'm sorry...this handsome dude was apart of some 'Romeo and Juliet' play back in high-school?" Candy asked as she pointed at Ray with her own thumb.
"Well, it's true." Ray told the party girl. "During our senior year, my dad told me that I needed to join one of the cliques around our school, outside of my own; so, I gave a few of them a try...most of which weren't interested or I just wasn't even good at in general..." He cringed for a second, before continuing on with his explanation. "After I failed to join the chess club, football team, and even the marching band...I had, eventually, found my calling in the drama club; and to both me and my dad, as well as the girl who runs the club whenever her father wasn't around to teach us, it was completely worth the-"
"You're just saying this because you kissed the girl who ran that club." Yuki interrupts, shaking her head at everything the goth was saying, clearly not happy with him.
"That's because it was part of the play, Yuki-"
"Then how do you explain kissing her during our school's 'Winter Formal', while your girlfriend was out of town?" Yuki interrupts again, pointing at the brown-haired goth. "Yuki caught the two of you in the back of the room, making out together next to the snack table."
"Welp, now I completely take back saying that this dude's handsome..." Candy muttered as she backs away from Ray, who just stared at her in surprise. "I know now that he's a completely unfaithful prick..."
"T-That's not why I-" Ray started off saying, before being interrupted once again; but this time, by the party girl holding up her hand towards his face.
"Save it, asshole; you're lucky I don't knee you in the crotch after hearing what Yuki over here said, unless you've cheated on her too at one point."
"Yuki wouldn't be surprised if he did, but he didn't; and we thankfully never dated." Yuki assured Candy as she continued to glare at Ray.
"That isn't the whole story, Yuki..." Ray muttered as he slowly turns his head, glaring at his best friend's girlfriend sitting a few steps away from him. "Raven and I were originally intending on attending our last prom together, but due to the fact that her mother had decided to bring both of them out of town to meet with some of their relatives down in Boston, I had to pick someone else instead; so, I decided to go with Stacy, since she was feeling rather lonely, and she didn't really have anything to do that night anyway. We've mostly just talked together on a few occasions throughout the party, and we've shared some snacks together; and as for the kiss, we...eh, got lost in the moment when they started playing that one song by Aerosmith from that one movie with the meteor."
"So, because you and her got 'lost in the moment' together, that makes it okay for you to go and kiss her behind your girlfriend's back?" Candy asked in an unconvinced tone.
"What I'm saying is that it was an accident-"
"Accident?!" Yuki shouts, interrupting the goth yet again. "Yuki saw that kiss from where she was, and she can tell that kiss was anything but a so-called 'accident'."
"This whole conversation's making me sick to my fucking stomach..." Candy muttered as she rolled her eyes at what the former drama student said.
"Well, if it makes either of you feel better, I haven't spoke to Stacy since graduation." Ray assured the two angry girls, who were standing in between him. "In fact, I don't believe I've seen her around the city since that day..."
"Knowing Stacy, she's probably busy at her father's theater." Crystal speculated, finally joining in the conversation. "It's not everyday that she gets to just walk out into the city on a free-day, outside of going out to get herself some breakfast, dinner, or a quick coffee or two."
"Too bad she doesn't have time to make out with you again, Ray." Yuki abruptly says, glaring at the brown-haired goth again.
"Now look here, Yuki-" Ray starts off saying, about to walk up and confront the goth girl for everything she was saying, and for constantly interrupting him every few seconds; but right before he could tell her off, Goth Boy stepped in between the two.
"Alright, that's enough." Goth Boy says, ironically calm. "I don't know what exactly happened during that prom, but if Ray says that nothing's happened between him and Stacy that could be considered 'romantic', then nothing actually happened."
"Yuki saw what she saw..." Yuki says, crossing her arms and looking the opposite direction of where both of the goth men were, before turning her attention over to the two other girls in the house. "Crystal, help Yuki out here."
"Look, I didn't go to our senior prom years ago, so I can't vouch for either you or Ray on this one. Sorry, Yuki." Crystal told her friend, walking over to where Candy was.
"Damn it..." Yuki says under her breath, before her friend and her best friend's cousin both proceeded to exit the house.
"Did you two really have to start an argument today?" Goth Boy asked his two friends after the two tomboys left the house.
"Ray started it by kissing Stacy Verily in front of her..." Yuki pouted, looking away from her boyfriend with her arms crossed, causing both men to roll their eyes.
Outside...
"Well, that certainly went from one to a thousand within seconds..." Crystal says as she and Candy walked over to the latter's car, not even bothering to look at the blonde tomboy next to her. "Why did you have to go and get hostile with them for; and literally over something that Yuki most likely came up with?"
"Sorry, dude..." Candy says, turning her head to look at the goth for a quick second. "It ain't my fault that Ray dude decided to go and kiss another girl as if it was nothing."
"This coming from the girl who flirts with anyone she considers 'hot' in a matter of seconds."
"Look, that's different; okay?" Candy asked as they finally approached her car, leaning against the side of it so that she can elaborate a bit more about what she was talking about. "Thinking that someone's hot is one thing, and trying to flirt with them is another, but doing both of those things while having a girl of your own, and going out of your way to act like it's nothing; that's just wrong, dude."
"Well, I get that, and honestly, I can agree; but even then, it's not as if Yuki's right." Crystal stated as she crossed her arms. "As much as I like her, she tends to think that something is one thing when it's most likely not, or it's completely absurd for that matter. Hell, I still remember this one time, she told me that one girl who lives next door to her is friends with a giant blue squid, and she herself saw it with her own eyes at one point."
"That last part seems irrelevant." Candy stated. "Are you sure you haven't been apart of that prom they were talking about in there?"
"I don't do proms." Crystal reminded the party girl. "When it came to our senior prom, Katie and I didn't want to go and deal with all the formal shit, or wear dresses, or heels, or...everything else. So, we both spent our prom night at my house, while my four other sisters were at their high-school prom."
"Oh..." Candy simply replied, which was when the goth decided to revert the conversation back to what they were originally talking about moments ago.
"The point that I'm trying to make here is: I don't know who's telling the truth, whether it be Ray or it be Yuki; but either way, that argument didn't need to happen, especially knowing you're new around here, you're a relative to my best friend, and the last thing I need is for you to make an enemy with my group on your first day here. Now I'm hoping that Raven and Violet don't figure out about this, or else they'd be extremely pissed that you and Yuki did this to their friend."
"Hey, I already said I was sorry, dude."
"It's fine, but just don't try and anger my group again."
"Okay." Candy simply replied, before turning around and proceeding to pull out her car-keys, prepared to make her leave. "Say, do you mind if I ask you about this Stacy girl that those three mentioned?"
"What about her?" Crystal asked as she watched the party girl get into her car.
"Katie once told me that she tried out for the drama club back in the twelve grade; however, I don't think she's ever mentioned anyone from that club named Stacy." Candy explains while getting into her car. "I just want to know who is."
"Well, we haven't interacted much back in high-school, so...I can't say much about her." Crystal began to explain, now leaning against the side of the party girl's car. "She moved here from England with her father years ago, and thought that Simport that was a good enough town for them to build a theater. Eventually, Stacy found her way into the Royal Academy, where she and a few other students grew close throughout those four years; one of which was obviously Ray. Unfortunately, despite how close the two became throughout the twelve grade together, they weren't alone to hang out together; mostly due to the fact that Stacy wore pink almost everyday."
"Not because of the fact that Ray has a girlfriend?" Candy asked dryly, with a hint of surprise heard in her voice.
"Well, that's what Goth Boy told me as we were passing those two talking in the hallway one time." Crystal replied with a causal shrug. "Outside of all that, I don't know anything else about her."
"Hey, Crystal!" Yuki could be heard shouting from the porch. "Raven and Violet are here; they just came in from the alleyway behind the backyard."
"I'll be right there!" Crystal shouts back, before turning back towards the party girl one last time. "Well, I guess this is goodbye again, for now."
"I guess so..." Candy says before grabbing a hold of the door, only for Crystal to immediately stop her.
"Before you go, I actually have something for you that might help you when it comes to finding a job around here." The goth says while reaching into one of the pockets of her vest, then proceeding to take out what looks to be a folded up piece of paper with a couple words written on it. "I know I've said that I don't go to the clubs around town, but I do walk past them whenever I'm out and about, trying to clear my head of my annoying sisters and their cheerleading bullshit." She then hands the paper over to the party girl. "I've got all of the locations of the town's clubs written on this paper, so that it'll be easier for you to find all of them."
"Thanks, dude; this'll totally come in handy." Candy says, taking the paper from the goth with a smile on her face.
"Good luck with the job-finding, dude." After that was said, Crystal backs away from the car, allowing the party girl to close it and drive off into the city.
'This is going to be easy...' Candy says, confidently looking at the paper in her hands as she continued to drive.
Note: A few goths were met in this chapter: Goth Boy (obviously), Ray, and Yuki; Raven and Violet will be introduced later on in the story, but for now, I just wanted to present those three in this chapter. This is also the start of yet another two/three/more parter-chapters (in this case two), where here, Candy is off to find one of the clubs around town in order to work there; it should be easy enough for her to go and apply at one of them, and get the job right away, especially since...well, it's DJ Candy we're talking about here. What's going to happen with her when she goes out and starts applying at those clubs; and will she meet two more familiar faces at one of them? You'll just have to wait and see to find out...
Now, let's see what reviews we have for the previous chapter...
TheBigBunnyBoy: It definitely didn't go good at all. Candy lost her shit with Ray the moment one of his drama club friends were brought up, and that he took said friend to the prom, instead of Raven, his own girlfriend. This first time meeting was just one huge disaster altogether.
lordgemini: It was definitely a bad idea for Candy to have met the goths, as you can easily tell here. Also, I've always imagine Katie being the type of girl to become immediately flustered whenever it comes to boys she considers going out with, but unlike most girls, I can imagine her being a little bit more stubborn to actually admit it.
There's nothing else I have to say here. Until then, as always, I will see you all in the next chapter, my fellow readers.
