Oh, so you are done reading chapter one? Well continue on…

Wrist blades extended as Tyrian faced the door, "You bloody fucking fool." He pulls Jaune back towards the window. "Now everyone has to d—" he was cut off as the wall next to him explodes. He dropped the drugged up boy and shields his face from debris.
A tall blonde woman, Cassie, the oldest sister of the Arcs, wearing a loose crop top and shorts as her nighttime sleepwear, rushes in with dual tonfas through the person sized hole in the wall she made. "GET AWAY FROM HIM!" She leaped at him.
Cassie may have attacked first but she ended up on the defensive as didn't strike first, the scorpion Faunus to lash out with his tail on instinct. She deflects it and rushes forward, locking her tonfas with his blades and triggers the taser baton mode. Electricity courses though him causing him to scream in excitement and in pain.
He stabs at her with his tail, only for her to duck, breaking the lock and rolls away, pulling Jaune with her. As she stands up again she places herself between the assassin dressed in all black with a realistic looking grimm mask and her seizing brother.
He lunges toward her only to be stopped by his tail getting grabbed by a firm cold hand. He looked back to see a robotic hand gripping his tail.
"Highly skilled assassin, specialized in CQC (close quarters combat)." A woman's voice in an almost robotic tone stated.
"Violet?" Cassie wonders out loud, surprised.
Violet punched him.
He tried to block with one of his bladed arms while snapping off a few shots from wrist guns at the other standing Arc in the room, only for the other robotic arm to shatter one side of the wrist blades and nailing him in the face, cracking the mask.
Cassie deflected the shots fired at her while Violet was forced to let go of him as he threw a kick at her with a bladed boot, the blade having a purplish tint to it for a moment.
The Assassin got a good look at her. She was a shorter woman wearing a long nightgown, blue eyes, her blonde hair is down flowing down to just below her shoulders. The arms of her nightgown were ripped from the stress of her punches revealing military looking robotic arms that became flesh just below her shoulders.
Two shots from Cassie's tonfa pistols hit him in the chest before he is able to block the rest. "You BITCHES!" His garbled voice yells as he stumbles back. Blocking more pistol fire from Cassie's pistol batons. He is pressed further as the shorter blonde girl attacks him again. He can barely dodge her as there is no space in this room.
"Small caliber wrist machine pistols ideal for distraction and probing defenses. Assumption, target has semblance that requires personal contact."
The psychopath's eyes widened at her spot on analysis. He was now really regretting not having done the proper research for the Arc family.
His ears twitched and then he dove through the window, breaking it a moment before the door burst open. Roland and Dinah burst through the door. Weapons drawn. Oliver is holding a drawn mechashift bow, Oneida Phoenix, that can split shift into dual falchions. At the moment, he was standing just behind his wife wearing athletic shorts, his quiver, and only his left arm covered with his green scale mail armor. Dinah had on only a crop top jacket and black panties. She was wielding her titanium extendable/compatible bowstaff, Sarah Lance. Neither one saw the assailant but did see their son on the floor.
"Jaune!" they both shout.
"Assailant has fled outside and is currently heading Southeast, pursuit of the assailant is necessary." Violet said looking out the window.
Dinah sat on Jaune's bed, holding him. "Absolutely not! Your father and I are going after him! Cassie a—"
"Mother," Violet interrupted, her tone was calm, but serious. Looking into her eyes showed that they blazed with an inferno, passionate yet a controlled, focused rage. She picked up the two empty syringes with fluids still dripping from the tips, "Jaune needs immediate medical aid, he is suffering from a severe overdose of an unknown narcotic concoction, his condition is critical. Best probable chance of survival is at 15%, you need to unlock his aura will give him an increased chance to 33%. You must get him to a hospital as soon as possible. We have no idea what was used on him, but I do know that that scum will try again to claim my brother. Unlikely today, but he will try again. That cannot be allowed. I am going to eliminate him."
"It's too dangerous Vi! You don't even have a weapon!" Her mother argued
"You forget Dinah, I AM a weapon." And before her mother or anyone else could reply, she jumped out the window.
Oliver cursed as he watched his cybernetic daughter sprint into the darkness, "Everyone grab your gear we're ALL going to town."
Cassie had bolted into her room and came back out with her black tac vest, hair in a simple ponytail and boots, Trish had also come with her. The taller blonde had her two custom Colts in hand, Luce & Ombra as well as their father's leather green pants, jacket and boots, which she handed him. He immediately started to put them on,
"Unlock his aura, take the Marauder, and get to the hospital. I am going after them." Oliver order his wife. "Cassie, you're on security, get Morita, you know where it is, if you see anything hostile, deal with the extreme prejudice."
Cassie nodded.
He pulled four arrows from his quiver, two red tipped and two yellow tipped, and keeping them in his right hand, leapt through the window. Oliver had earned a name among Hunters, it was started by a few huntsman who were faunus after they went on a few search and destroy missions with him. They called him: "Master of the night." That was because of his semblance, many hunters called it Nightvision, more accurately, he called it 'Perfect Vision'. He could alter his vision to respond to the environment, even in the pitch black, he could see everything. Even faunus night vision paled in comparison. In other words, no person was more suited to hunt at night than him.
That was not all that his semblance could do. At the same time it could do the opposite with his eyes as well. It worked so that he could see through and withstand a flash-bang going off in front of him. Of course the sound of the flash-bang would be an issue, but he would still be able to see his enemies. His semblance was so simple that barely used any aura unlike many combat semblances.
He was never open about his semblance, knowing that other hunters would ridicule it for being noncombat related and objectively weak, but Oliver had always preferred to let the success of his actions speak for his semblance. He had the skills to make up for it.
Oliver Queen Arc leaped out of the third story window and landed on the soft ground, he barely caught the sight of Violet sprinting through the thick forest surrounding the property.
/-/-/-/-/
Dinah hated this situation. Violet was right. In situations like this, she usually had superb instincts. Oliver would look after her girls as they hunted down the assassin, kidnapper, piece of shit. Dinah put a hand on his chest, and closed her eyes: "For it is in courage that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of hope and light to rise above darkness. Infinite in compassion and bound by duty, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, empower thee."
Jaune never heard these words, but the other sisters standing at the door did. Her son started to breathe again, even though it was slow and labored, but he was breathing.
She didn't even need to look behind her. "Grab jackets and your weapons and get to the Marauder, we need to get to the hospital!" The matriarch of the Arcs ordered the rest of the family. "Lazuli, wake up Rikku and get her dressed! No one stays home tonight!"
Lazuli went down to the second floor to find the youngest of the Arcs.
/-/-/-/-/
Lazuli threw on her clothes; a white shirt, black minivest, and jeans. She also grabbed a small dagger and her boots. As she shuttled the tired, youngest Arc downstairs in her pajamas. She saw Cassie carrying Jaune in a fireman's carry, who said, "Call Mercy. She'll know what to do."
Lazuli pulled out her scroll as they continued down the stairs.
It rang a few times before a groggy voice answered. "Hello?" There was no picture which meant that Mercy answered it as call only.
"Mercy it me,"
"Oh? Evening Lazzy, what's—"
"Jaune's hurt and we need your help on what to do."
Lazuli heard a thud on the other end of the call.
Mercy had just fallen out of bed. "OH MY GODS! WHAT HAPPENED IS JAUNE OK?! ARE THE REST—"
"MERCY! FOCUS!"
"Yes, alright. Tell me what happened." The calm coming back to her voice. But Mercy was anything but calm, she was pushing through with her professionalism at the moment, she was using that to suppress her hysteria. Her only brother, who always encouraged her to follow her dreams was now hurt.
"He's been drugged. We have no idea what was used or why, Violet told mom to unlock his aura to have a chance. His pupils are huge, breath is labored, heart beat is erratic, mini convulsions, and he's completely unresponsive."
There was so much worrying about the situation, the medical training that Violet had was to identify and delay absolute death scenarios. The awakening of Jaune's aura would give an immediate burst of healing through his body, it that would only be temporary, but it could still buy enough time save Jaune's life.
"It is sounds likely that multiple or a cognation of drugs were used. Is Trish there?"
"Yes and Yes."
"Damn it!" It was very rare to hear Mercy swear, which just showed how stressed she was in this scenario.
"If he stops breathing again, he will likely go into cardiac arrest, give him four cycles of CPR, 30 compressions, and then have Trish use her semblance in a low voltage; 3,000 volts if she knows how to measure it for two shocks to restart his heart. If that doesn't work, two more round of CPR, followed two more shocks. If his heart does not start beating on its own or she will have to use it in gentle pulses in the lowest possible voltage she can manage. Like a pacemaker." Mercy instructs. "But you need to get him to the hospital now! There has been a disaster in Vale so I am stuck on the coastal islands, The Patch, I will not be able to get to come home for a while."
Lazuli called Trish over and relayed Mercy's instruction.
The Marauder was a decommissioned military vehicle that Oliver had invested in early in his career.
The Marauder was tough, built to go into areas where Bullheads could land because of aerial Grimm of terrain. Oliver and Dinah had used it for many long term missions. The Marauder might have been a military vehicle at one time, but it was much cheaper than a bullhead.
They had settled for black to hide large claw marks all along the vehicle, with gold highlights for the family symbolic color.
They all piled into the Marauder and Jaune was laid on the floor with Trish monitoring him. He was fading in and out of consciousness, and was not responsive. Lazuli was holding Rikku who was scared and kept asking questions of what was happening, the only answer she received was Laz to stroke her hair tell her everything was going to be alright.
/-/-/-/-/
Dinah came out in her full huntsman attire.
Black leather jacket and pants, high ankle boots. For armor she had on pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves that covered her knees, all of which were glided gold. She had her weapon in a compact for strapped to her right thigh. She also has a second one strapped to her left thigh.
The Arc Matriarch took the driver's seat and the vehicle roared out of the garage.
As they were pulling away from the property Cassie climbed up through the roof hatch with a large rifle, after handing her mother an earpiece, and pulled out a pair of night vision goggles from her vest to put on. She crouched on the roof of the Morita rested on her shoulder and knocked on the roof twice. A mechanical sound was heard as the hatch was locked from inside.
Morita, was a MK 1 heavy caliber infantry automatic rifle, chambered in .338 Lapua with a 50 round cuff magazine and an underbarrel grenade launcher. However, she really wished that they had completed the building of the Ma Duece. Having the firepower of a 50 cal. had never seemed like overkill, if anything, it was something they needed. Especially since the Marauder wasn't the fastest vehicle, only able to top 60 miles an hour on the flat road when civilian cars could casually travel at 90 miles an hour on open road. But they were driving through the hilly countryside.
But the Marauder traded speed for armor and terrain mobility. It also had withstood several grimm attacks without needing repair.
/-/-/-/-/
Violet follows the path that she saw the assailant go. The ground was cold beneath her feet, but Violet didn't even feel it.
Her quarry was running, but he wasn't done yet, that's what her instincts told her about the growling that he had vocalized before jumping out the window; he was fast, but so was she, he wouldn't escape.
She was back in 'Kill Zone'. It was a mental state she hadn't been in for years now, but tonight she would gladly re-enter it for the family who had accepted her.
Effectively orphaned and raised to be the perfect killing machine until she had been rescued by Oliver and Dinah Arc. Her biological family was involved in the program that she had been placed in. She had been training since she was five, 10 when she killed her first person, 12 when she went on her first mission, and 17 when she met Oliver and Dinah Arc. They were all after the same target, an ex-huntress, Ivy, whose semblance involved poison. Which is where she had been given the code name: Poison Ivy.
If Violet had her way, she would have killed Ivy, but because of the Arcs, Ivy had been turned into the authorities for rehabilitation. But Violet had not come out of that fine, she had lost both her arms and suffered from severe nerve damage during the mission due to the poisons involved and if it wasn't for the Arcs protecting and legally adopting her, the program would have disposed of her. Oliver had some special herbs that had helped her body regenerate from the nerve damage and Dinah had some not so small favors owed to her that she cashed in on and had mechanical arms made for Violet.
During her time in recovery they had taught her what it meant to be human again. Those memories of having a true family for the first time would have normally brought a smile to her face, but now was definitely not a normal time.
Violet heard a beep and then gunfire. She immediately slid behind a tree opposite of the beep. She made it behind the tree not a moment too soon as the tree was riddled with bullets of a heavier caliber. But Violet didn't cower behind the tree, instead she scaled it, using her mechanical fingers to dig into the bark. A quarter of the way up, the exsoldier tore off a decent size branch and peaked around the trunk of the tree.
A turret stood about 30 yards away, it was an odd design, tripod shock mount with a single short barrel on a square frame, fed by a very large drum mag on the back. it looked quite cheaply made, as if electronics and gun parts were stick-welded together. From the flash of the gun fire, she could even see a battery pack strapped on with the tripod mount. It was still shooting at the bottom of the tree trunk where she had slid behind, and hadn't tracked that she had scaled the tree.
After stripping the leaves off the branch she hurled it at the automated turret. With outstanding force. She wasn't aiming for the main body, she was aiming for the exposed battery. A dust powered battery would definitely explode being breached, but it wasn't something she could leave sitting in her backyard.
She was concerned, mainly that a lightning dust powered battery theoretically could short out her cybernetic arms, but they were insulated against such things, but it was always better to air on the side of caution, so she ducked back behind the tree.
It was strange, the battery didn't explode in arcs of lightning, but it did release a stream of fire from the punctured area, which engulfed the turret. It wasn't powered by dust? If she wasn't chasing a killer, Violet would have scaled down to try to salvage the battery to figure out how it worked since it was a technological marvel. But for now she had a target to track, and she would not be deterred. She started sprinting again, the turret was a beacon in the darkness and if he was still nearby then he would be aware of her presence as well. Little did she know, her presence had been seen.
/-/-/-/-/
The Arcs had only traveled a few minutes from their property before they heard gunfire from the roof of the vehicle, which meant Cassie was shooting at something. They probably had attracted Grimm considering how panicked they all were.
As quick as it started, the gunfire stopped.
"Cassie, what was the contact?" Dinah asked,
The response was not what she was expecting. "The Scorpion Faunus. The fucker kicked me off! He's still on the roof! Don't fucking stop! I'll get to town on my own!"
"What do you mean he kicked you off?!"
The 'fucker' man being talked about lands on the hood of the vehicle with a maniacal smile hidden by his facemask and goes to stab the hood, only for his claws to bounce off the thick steel of the hood and then bullet proof glass. When the windows in question can stop several 50 cal. rounds in a row, it seemed appropriate to call it bulletproof.
Dinah smirks at him and flips him off from behind the window. "Ok, Cassie… I see what you mean about him still being on the roof. Get to town safe and keep an eye out for your father and Violet."
"Check."
Judging from the way he leans forwards at them, he is probably scowling, but he pulls out a black cylindrical device the size of his hand and literally drops it on the hood of the car with an audible 'Thunk.'
Immediately the engines cut out and the Marauder slows down until it comes to a stop.
Trish looks up from her position on the floor with Jaune, her hands ever so slightly sparking and exclaims, "What the hell?! Why are we stopping?!"
Dinah growled as she leans forward to get a better look through the windshield to stare at the black device. "He put an EMP emitter on the engine, it's far more powerful than the military grade ones I have seen of the same size. We aren't going anywhere until we get that off the hood."
The assailant open fired on the front window, fortunately, as a military vehicle, the windshield is bulletproof and the rounds either bounce off the glass or leave miniature cracks. But despite how futile the attempt is, he kept shooting.
/-/-/-/-/
Lazuli touches the windshield and projects a blue barrier over it, "He's trying to blind us by cracking the glass."
Dinah puts a hand on her daughter's arm, lowering it down. "Don't waste your aura, even if he spray painted the glass we can still drive it by the sensory equipment. He's trying to unnerve us since he knows that he can't break it."
"Right, I forgot about that." Laz stated, a little embarrassed. "What do we do now?"
"Can you shield that thing off the hood?"
"Already tried, it'll just shield over the device as well."
Dinah clenched her jaw, "Trish, how's Jaune doing?"
"Not well, I had to restart his heart, but it is beating on its own again."
The Arc mother let out an annoyed sigh. She talked over and gently stroked her youngest daughter's face before looking at all of them, "It's a shitty situation. Rikku, you stay with Jaune and be brave, Laz, you take the wheel, Trish and I are going out there, I will fight him long enough for you to get that blasted thing off the hood. Then petal to metal, get to town. I'm going to make sure he won't be able to follow you."
"You make it sound like you're going to stay and fight him! That's stupid!" Trish argued
"I am being realistic, I may not be able to get away from him, if that happens you need to get Jaune to the hospital." The mother of eight took a breath, "No matter what happens, do your job and move forwards."
Not waiting for anyone to object, she opened the back door of the Marauder, grabbed the lip of the door and vaulted onto the roof, extending her collapsible bowstaff-lance. She immediately attacked trying to hit him with the end of her lance, the masked scorpion Faunus however, laughs at her as he dodged a thrust.
"It's time to pay for your crimes against us!"
"That's a load of bullshit and you know it." She snarled back at him, "The Arcs have been one of the most vocal advocates of equal rights for generations. You would be cutting the throats of every Faunus by turning us against the Faunus." She spun her staff delivering quick rapid strikes, unfortunately with how skilled he was, everything that she landed turned into a glancing blow.
Tyrian was slightly annoyed by how skilled the Arc Matriarch was, the way she turned and read his fluid movements also didn't allow him to land a bladed claw on her despite have two on each of his arms and legs (One on his left because of the cyborg bitch). Her armor that covered bodyparts vital for combat were also protected by quality armor.
Dinah recognized a stalemate when she saw one, in this battle of acrobatics on the roof of an armored vehicle, she couldn't fight with the full range of her weapon. It was also frustrating that she couldn't get him to reveal about himself that she really wanted, so she would have to take a gamble.
Dinah found her opportunity when she spotted that the inner blade of his left arm was broken close to the base mechanisms.
The Arc mother split her staff into two batons and locked his blades with hers, ducking down while driving her shoulder into his stomach, tackling him off the Marauder. As she tries to regain distance from the assassin by rolling right, she realized she didn't get away and brought her armored right knee up to block one of his leg blades.
However, Dinah felt a leg blade she was not able to block bite into the left side of her abdomen just above her pelvic bone. She cursed vocally, either his semblance could bypass aura or his weapon was built from one of the extremely rare metals that could penetrate aura. Dinah guessed that it had to be his semblance, that metal was extraordinarily strong, and one of his wrist blades was broken.
He was already very dangerous with his combat skill. But with that semblance, he could make a steak knife lethal against a huntsman.
/-/-/-/-/
He glanced over to the daughter that climbed up on the roof as well. He wanted to get by the mother just for a moment then he could punish her for getting in the way through her child.
Tyrian was surprised that she was able to lock his blades during his counter but that left her exposed to his legs… oh that's what she was doing.
It felt more like a shoulder check, but it worked, she knocked them off the vehicle.
He growled, on flat ground she would hold the advantage for footwork and being able to maneuver with her weapon, but he wasn't going to allow that.
As they hit the ground, she tried to roll away, but he rolled with her, ending up on top of her. The masked faunus grabbed both her hands still holding her batons and pinning them to the ground, he stepped on her left thigh with an ankle blade, and her stomach with the other. Both sunk in and red blood began to leak out from the wounds.
"Did you really think you stood a chance against me?" The giggling had stopped, to be replaced by a very arrogant tone and a smirk. Dinah grimaced as he slightly twisted the blade in her leg.
"Yes I did, because You really shouldn't underestimate your enemies."
He didn't have time to question what she said as she screamed right into his face. The sonic wave that followed launched him up into the air and a dozen yards away from her.
His ears bled, "You have a sonic voice semblance!?" he shouted, "Why the Fuck do you have that!?"
A potential singing career and a desire for a large family was the answer, but the Golden Canary didn't bother to tell him that as she immediately pulled a medical kit off her belt and ripped it open. The bleeding wasn't coming out as a fountain which meant that he hadn't sliced the femoral artery in her leg or a major organ, she pulled out a handful of liquid gauze packets and ripped them open, and quickly emptied them into both wounds.
Doing that was necessary, but it sucked. This liquid gauze was a special mixture of medicines and sealants tailored for… 'minor' wounds, and she had stuff for worse injuries. It burned for a bit as it hardened and sealed the wound. It would have to be removed medically, but it would numb the pain and allow her to fight.
As Dinah slowly stood up, the overhead floodlights of the Marauder turned on as she did, lighting up the surrounding area. She smiled. At least she wouldn't have to fight in the dark.
She switched the Sarah-Lance in he she had in hand for the one she had strapped to her thigh, and activated it, this other one had another feature that the first one didn't have. She tested her weight on her injured left side, there were enough painkillers in this gauge that she didn't feel any pain. With these injuries, Dinah was not sure she could beat him, so she would have to buy as much time as she could until Trish could disable the device.
/-/-/-/-/
Dinah had grown up in Mistral, loving to sing and had an amazing voice for it. Her family had given her the nickname, the Canary because she had sung with the birds and she had easily become the lead singer in her choir class. Her father, a former police chief for the Haven Police in Mistral, always believed that their family should always be able to protect themselves, had unlocked her aura at a young age.
During one of her middle school concerts, visiting the Enchanting Forest, which was Mistral's version of the Forever Forest; a pack of Beowulves that had been missed by the huntsman patrol sprung upon the class.
She had been so scared and when one had leaped started her, she had screamed and in that near death experience, unlocked her semblance, screaming out the first Canary Cry, which had obliterated the Grimm and a long line behind it.
Her father, seeing the destruction that was caused, had immediately enrolled her to Safeguard combat school. Dinah had excelled at the combat school and when it came to go to an Academy, she had chosen Beacon, which is where she had met Oliver Arc.
/-/-/-/-/
As Tyrian shook his head, blood flicking off his head, his aura repairing his eardrums, he reloaded his claws, Exfoliate and Exenterate by shoving a twin stack of pistol mags into them. With his eardrums burst, his balance was off so he had to give Jaune's mother time to treat herself as well. She wasn't a fool, she was watching him the entire time as she applied the gauge. He shouldn't have played with her so much and sliced the artery when he had the chance. She obviously had the emergency equipment that would be able to stop even that type of serious bleeding, but the effects of blood loss were still significant even to the most Veteran fighters.
He was sure she wouldn't make an attempt to follow him if he retreated to get some more of his equipment he left a little ways away, she would probably try to disable the EMP emitter so they could leave. And with her sonic voice, she just might be able to. But fortunately for now, they were not going anywhere anytime soon.
But he had to wonder where the entire family was, the Father and cyborg bitch hadn't come out to fight, which meant they weren't there. But if they had been trying to follow him through the forest, they would never find him at night, he had set up enough distractions in the woods so they would be kept busy.
The slutty looking one looked like she was trying to pull the emitter off, which wasn't going to happen, the only way it was coming off is if he turned it off the magnetic lock with the controller HE had.
That left his target and three other sisters. They could stay in there for all he cared, he would get to them eventually. But if they had been trying to follow him through the forest, they would never find him at night, he had set up some distractions in the woods so they would be kept busy. There was some gunfire off in the distance, that meant the military one was being kept busy by the grimm. Didn't matter whether or not they killed her right now, they just needed to keep her and that big gun away.
/-/-/-/-/
"My name is Wayrian. And we are pleased to kill you My Little Bird."
"Now that's a fucking weird name." Dinah stated, "I am Dinah Arc, the Golden Canary. I would normally give criminals one chance to surrender before I beat the shit out of them, but you, you have hurt my family, you're not people."
"I chose this name because it is the only one that makes sense for us. But what am I if I am not people."
"Scum."
Wayrian clicked his tongue, "I suppose I did leap head first into that one."
The Canary kept trying to provoke him on, but she also unnerved slightly at his use of the plural form when referring to himself, "I don't like how I am dealing with a lethal assassin who is also a fucking schizophrenic." And with that comment she attacked.
She struck hard, fast, and was unrelenting. Not letting him catch or pin her lance in place for more than a moment. She had to keep up the pressure, ignoring his counter attacks, which were fortunately shallow, meaning the ones tryst landed only delivered small cuts. Many huntsmen would have been worried in such a fight like this since he could bypass the defense of aura. This would lead many huntsman overly cautious and defensive. And that was a death sentence against an offensive fighter like 'Wayrian'.
Dinah pressed a small button on the handle of her batons. There was a metallic clicking noise and then the shaft of the batons flattened out and shifted into blades. Her stance shifted as well, her legs were wider and and her body lower.
"Oooo, someone's getting serious." The mad Faunus giggled
Dinah went on the offensive again, his head and throat were her main targets, which he guarded well, keeping his hands up in a stance similar to a boxers, to weather her strikes before his tail would lash out or he would bend with a particular strike and kick out with his bladed feet.
She struck at what she could: hands, arms, torso, thighs, head, whatever wasn't armored. It had seemed that he hadn't prepared for a combat encounter that would last any more than a few strikes, judging from his lack of equipment. He wore a black, what she guessed was a Kevlar woven skin suit; he had a lot of bandoliers with some pockets on it, but it looked like it was filled with medical equipment, which made sense if he had come prepared to abduct her babies. Kevlar was a weight armor, and this woven variety was designed more for stopping bullets than blades or claws.
She kept striking, using her gauntlets to block lethal strikes and she took the cuts that wouldn't hinder her in combat. The Golden Canary constantly danced around her opponents, twirling both her body and her weapons to change her attacks and dodges.
Realistically he wouldn't be able to counter even half of the strikes she aimed at him, but his counters attacks were just as fast as hers, but it didn't throw off Dinah. Part of the Golden Canary fighting style was to be light on her feet and strike much more.
It was a deadly dance that they were locked in, one mistake possibly being the final one. Dinah refrained from using her Canary Cry, he would know how to counter it if she missed, and he was staring at her mouth, just waiting for her to use it.
"AHH!" She shouted in semblanceless shout, she then smirked at his reaction.
He jumped away, adding about 15 feet in distance. He was on edge whenever she made any vocal sounds.
Dinah knew her advantages and weaknesses in this fight, while split, her weapons may not be the longest in this form, but they are much heavier, longer, and stronger than Wayrian's claws.
But unfortunately, he still had four limbs in which he could block and counter with, which he made good use of. But she could play on his fear of her semblance to keep pressure off herself, while his semblance required physical contact, it wouldn't be effective against armor, like the type she wore.
Before the mad faunus lashed out, he scowled at Arc mother. She parried his right claws and stepping into his guard despite the risk of the inner broken claw of his left arm. It cut her cheek all the way to her ear, but the blonde huntress ignored the pain as she then punched him several times in the head, his head snapping back after each blow. After the fifth strike, the mask broke, revealing a long, slim, pale face with brown hair and crazed yellow eyes.
That was a face Dinah could never forget from all the KOS (Kill On Sight) orders and posters with his face on it, "Tyrian Callows." WHY WAS HE HERE!?
In the moment of surprise cost her, the side of his tail struck her in the size, knocking the wind out of her lungs. Dinah was also knocked to the side from the strength of his tail. As Dinah landed, she spun to dodge the wild swings of the claws. He was still disoriented, but unfortunately his excellent killer instincts took over and he continued to fight. Several of his wild and usually deadly slashes aimed for her neck bounced off her pauldrons while she deflected his tail stinger with her gauntlets.
The daze that the strikes had put him under allowed Dinah to land just as many hits on him. However, she did not escape unscathed, as one of the claw blades cut above her left eyebrow. Blood started to run down the side of her face and into her eye.
/-/-/-/-/
As Trish grabbed the device on the hood of the Marauder, she could feel the electricity pulsing in it. She does the first obvious thing, pull it off, but it doesn't budge. Nope, because of course that would be too easy.
She tried pulsing electricity through it, but it seemed that the emitter absorbed her lightning. She tried to stab the device with a dagger she pulled from her boot, but the blade bounced off a shield before it even touched it. Strange. As she tries to touch the device with her knife, she can feel resistance in the air, as well as the feeling of electricity.
It has an electromagnetic shield, Trish didn't notice at first as her semblance tended to automatically activate when in contact with electricity, and in this case, it allowed her to ignore the shield. Trish was brought out of her pondering as a few bullets bounce off her aura.
Her mother was in a hand to hand grapple with the masked Faunus, wait, was that a White Fang mask? Why the hell was the White Fang going after them?! It should be more of the Hands of Human or something.

The stinger lashed out, aimed for the Golden Canary's throat. Letting go of one of his arms, she grabbed the stinger before it could stab her in the throat.
But in doing so, as soon as she let go of the blade, it glanced off her pauldron but it still cut her along collarbone. It was shallow since there wasn't force being it, but it still bled and hurt like a bitch.
Before she stepped in and head-butted him, her golden aura flashing with the contact. He stumbled back but still managed to kick out low. The leg blademade contact with her thigh. Crimson fluids started to flow down her leg. The Golden Canary yelled at him again, causing him to launch himself backwards further even though she held back on her semblance. Once he had realized the feint, Wayrian open fired with bursts of his wrist mounted machine pistols while moving to circle her.
Her mother followed him, running alongside while deflecting his bullets. She was not letting him get close to the Marauder, towards her family.
Trish had never seen her mother being pushed so hard before, it was terrifying.
As they went out of sight for a moment, she turned her focus back to the EMP emitter. She pulled out her black colt, Umbra. She coated it in her aura, a bright yellow, as the barrel touched the invisible electromagnetic shield, her semblance activated, and gun barrel rested on the emitter. This would have been a more effective shield against just about anyone other than her. She fired three rounds into the emitter punched through it and echoed against the armored hood of the Marauder.
There was a reason that she had gotten her Colts chambered in 10 mm. It kicked like a mule, but it hit like a rhino. She looked up to see her mother kneeling on the ground, the daughter could see blood flowing from multiple cuts all across her body. She was exhausted and… defeated, but that was impossible!
Trish fired at the cover of the fallen tree. No she didn't know where the insane faunus was, but if she could get him to hesitate by showing their were more combatants, then maybe they could get mom inside and get out of here. She raised her weapon and fired.

His head was starting to clear back up again… Wayrian jumped right into the face of the blonde huntress.
As Dinah spun to avoid the claws, she met his bladed kick with one of her armored legs before she planted a foot on his chest and kicked off him.
She locked the butt ends of the blades together and met his charge head on as she slammed the double sided sword staff, down on her assailant. Even though he blocked it, the force still brought him down on a knee. He growled, before his back bent inward at an impossible angle, causing him to fall onto his back. He immediately kicked her up into the air with both legs.
The blades were covered in a beautiful purple color as they made contact with and passed through the huntress's aura.
With adrenaline flowing, Dinah didn't feel the pain right away, but she knew that she had been stabbed. Twice.
Time seemed to slow down as she was launched up in the air. She spun, so that her feet hit the branch instead of her back, as her legs were absorbing the shock from the throw, the Canary filled her lungs with air before launching off back down towards the one who hurt her child.
He dodged, and the Sarah-Lance stabbed the dirt instead of flesh, Dinah only needed to turned her head slightly and unleashed a Canary Cry at him point blank.
Wayrian saw the intent behind the attack the moment the huntress had started took a deep breath, but he gambled that he would be able to dodge by using his tail to push himself out of the path. Unfortunately for him, it clipped him in some way and the next thing he knew, he was tumbling in midair.
He was sent flying back until he crashed into a tree, before falling to the ground.
As he sat up against the tree, Wayrian mentally scolded himself for not being more patient.
It is impossible to see sound, and she had played her cards with her semblance perfectly. Only now was he starting to get the impression that her sonic voice waves were projected more like a tunnel than a horizontal line, but it was quite difficult to tell because she only used it within the highest probable chance of hitting him, and then immediately followed up after it not giving him a chance of reprieve or a chance to analyze. Speaking of momentarily reprieve…
He looked up and then rolled to the side as lance, speared the tree where his head had been a moment ago. Looking up at the person holding the weapon, he saw her lips begin to move… SHIT!
He knew what was about to happen.
The Faunus launches himself into a tree. The bottom of the tree exploded from the invisible attack. As the tree started to fall, Wayrian open fired with bursts of his wrist mounted machine pistols, while his leg claws held him to the falling tree.
The huntress pulled her weapon from the tree and spun it, deflecting the small arms fire until the tree obstructed both of them.
She waited for him to jump over the fallen tree, rush around the side, hurl a branch like a spear—literally anything. But nothing happened.
The Canary slumped down to a knee, she felt her these newest wounds in her gut. As the adrenaline started to wear off, the pain of the new injuries hit her in full force and her breathing started to become ragged. She was bleeding heavily, he had hit something vital, her vision was darkening around the corners and creeping in.
She heard a couple of gunshots behind her, a heavier caliber so not the insane motherfucker Wayrian.
*BANG *BANG *BANG
"MOM! IT'S OFF! LET'S GO!"
As the Canary looked back, she immediately realized her mistake, she stopped looking for her enemy. She heard the sound of wood cracking and turned.
Wayrian jumped out from the shadows with murder in his crazy eyes, claws bared towards her. He had caught her in a moment of weakness.
She tried to raise her sword staff, too slow. She was going to die, but hopefully she bought enough time so that her family could escape.

A/N:
This story will also contain many Easter eggs. Here's a couple of freebies. The entire Arc family except Jaune are from other worlds, they should be pretty obvious/easy to look up. Also, the Marauder is a real vehicle, I got the inspiration from the British Top Gear when Hammond covered it in the first episode of Season 27.
In canon Tyrian wrist blades are named: The Queen's Servants. However, that clashes with the plot of my story so I am changing the name.
Unfortunately I didn't really have a choice for the ending of this chapter, and had to make it a F&*king Cliffhanger.
