Chapter 12: Opening of the Cooking Club!

It was another day at Ouran, Daniel was currently writing down notes as the class went on. The only sound was of the teacher talking and he was trying to pay attention. That was until a slip of paper landed on his desk. Daniel rose a brow and looked over at Jiro and he glanced back and motioned for him to read the note.

Daniel just sighed slightly and opened up the note, reading what Jiro wanted to tell him.

Meet me in the courtyard for lunch

-Jiro 3

Daniel looked over at Jiro, mouthing a 'really?' causing the pink-haired male to grin before getting back to work. Daniel just shook his head and hide the note as he got back to work. He could only imagine what Jiro wanted from him.

When it was time for lunch he headed to the courtyard with his lunch, hoping that whatever Jiro wanted would be quick. He was surprised to see that the others were there too. "Okay, what's going on?" Daniel asked.

"We're getting ready for our club!" Jiro exclaimed excitedly, a grin on his face.

"What type of club?" Daniel questioned.

"A Cooking Club, we already got permission and we already made some stuff." Hikari smiled.

"Okay, what does that have to do with me? I'm already a part of a club." Daniel told them before Riku held up a camera.

"We know that, but we want you to help promote it," Jiro told him with an expectant look in his eyes.

Daniel could only stare at them and look at the equipment that was there he didn't notice before. They were already set up for taking pictures of him and there were already baked goods made to pose with.

The male could only rub his temple and sigh. "On one condition," Daniel told them before pointing at the maid outfit. "I'm not wearing the maid outfit," Daniel told them.

"Aww, you would've looked so cute in it." Jiro pouted. "But fine." He groaned.

Okay, Daniel now wished he would've added not to wear ANY costume for the photoshoot. The male was now wearing a chef's hat as he wore a white apron around his waist over a white chef's jacket. He felt stupid, nothing against chefs but for a high school club, it felt too much.

"Do I have to wear this?" Daniel asked as he held a whisk in one hand and a bowl in the other.

"Come on, you look great!" Jiro told him as Riku was already working on the camera to get a perfect shot.

"You'll only be in it for ten minutes if you stop complaining," Yuri said while standing next to Riku.

Daniel could just sigh as he put on a smile and posed for the camera.

When the photoshoot was finally done, Daniel quickly took off the dress and the other stuff he was forced to wear. "Finally," Daniel exclaimed as he went over and took his lunch to start eating before lunch was over.

"You did good, now we can print this out and advertise!" Jiro exclaimed as Hikari was on his computer downloading the photos to work on the posters.

Daniel just tuned his friends out as he focused on eating, today has already been a long day, and just wanted to eat and head home.

By the time Daniel finished his lunch, he was running a little late to the Club meeting.

"There you are, Daniel, you're late." The Twins told him as he entered the music room.

"Sorry." Was all Daniel had to say as he walked over to the others. "So what did I miss?"

"Well we were discussing future travel destinations, currently we're deciding between Kinkaku-Ji, a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, or the zoo," Kyoya informed the male.

"For guests?" Daniel asked receiving a nod from the others. Daniel hummed as he thought about it. "I never been to a zoo before," Daniel muttered to himself but it was loud enough for the others to hear.

"It's decided, we're going to the Zoo!" Tamaki declared immediately after Daniel's comment causing him to sweatdrop.

When it was time for the Host Club to open there were already a bunch of guests waiting for them. "Danielle, you look so pretty in an apron!" One of his guests told him making him pause.

"What do you mean?" He asked before another guest piped up.

"You didn't see the posters?" The girl asked with a tilt of her head. This just made him even more confused until a third girl took out a poster.

"Yeah, for the cooking club! Have a look." She said as Daniel took the poster and stared blank-faced at the poster. How in the world did they do this so fast!?

Join The Cooking Club and experience a world of flavor!

All are welcome to join, and if you're lucky you'll see some of your favorite Host Club Members!

'What the hell!?' Daniel thought as he read what was on the poster, ignoring the fact that he was on the cover. He turned over the poster and saw some more writing.

The Cooking Club and the Host Club have joined into a partnership for the appearance of Danielle Hideyoshi.

"When did this happen, Kyoya-Senpai?!" Daniel asked looking over at the other male.

"You shouldn't be surprised, having this partnership has given the Host Club more access to deserts and other treats without the costs it takes to normally order the delicacies the Host Club offers. It's a little price to pay for the advertising." Kyoya told him.

"Advertising?" Daniel asked before Kyoya picked up one of the empty trays and showing the underside. "How did this happen so fast!?" Daniel exclaimed taking the tray.

"Your friend, Hikari has quite a talent for management and negotiations," Kyoya told him.

All Daniel could do was rub his temple. Why was he so surprised? This was exactly the type of thing to happen to him.

"We did have a meeting about it the other day, don't you remember?" The Twins told him. "We all agreed on it."

"I thought you guys didn't like them?" Daniel asked.

"We never said that, besides, they're good cooks." Kaoru shrugged with his brother.

"They're better at cooking than you are." Hikaru bluntly told the male making Daniel glare at him.

"Shut up." He told the grinned twins before looking at Haruhi, hoping he wasn't the only one surprised about this. "Did you know about this, Haruhi?"

"Yeah, unfortunately. You were there, I don't know how you could've forgotten. Your friends were a part of it." Haruhi told him.

As soon as he heard Jiro and the others were there it came back to him.

~Flashback~

"Why are we having a meeting today? Is this another Scheme day?" Daniel asked as he and Haruhi were heading to the music room.

"I wouldn't be surprised, you know how Tamaki is." Haruhi sighed before they both entered the clubroom.

"Daniel!" He heard Jiro call out to him with a grin as Daniel froze.

"What are they doing here!?" He exclaimed.

"Well, this meeting is about the Cooking Club they're making." Tamaki smiled as Daniel groaned as he headed over to get this meeting over with. Whatever this was about he just wanted it to end as soon as possible so he tuned everything else out while Tamaki talked.

~End Flashback~

"Oh yeah, I guess I tuned Tamaki out when he started talking," Daniel replied earning a gasp from Tamaki.

"You were ignoring me!?" Tamaki exclaimed.

"How? It's hard to tune anything the Boss says with how much he talks." The Twins asked him, earning more shock from the tall blonde.

"Well, I guess Jiro is a lot like Tamaki like that so I just got used to it," Daniel told them as everyone was ignoring Tamaki complaining in the background about 'how they could do such a thing' and something about 'not ignoring your friends'.

"Did you say something, Tamaki?" Daniel asked which sent Tamaki to the corner to sulk.

"Hey, Danielle! Let's go visit the cooking club!" A guest told him.

"Yeah! You've talked about your friends before, and now they're going to school here. It'll be fun!" Another joined in.

"W-Wait!" Daniel exclaimed as he was dragged away by his guests to where the Cooking Club resided.

"Is that allowed, Kyoya-Senpai?" Haruhi asked Kyoya watching Daniel get dragged out of the Host Club.

"It's our duty to make our guests happy, Haruhi. I don't see a problem." Kyoya replied, not looking away from his computer as he typed away. All Haruhi could do was sigh.

Once Daniel and his guests made it to the Cooking Club he could already see that it was already popular. 'I wonder why.' Daniel sarcastically thought as he watched his friends cook and basically flirt with the girls.

"Danielle!" He heard Jiro shout immediately heading over and hugging him tightly. "I can't believe you gave us a visit! You're just the cutest!" Jiro exclaimed nuzzling him as Daniel looked done with life.

He was thankful that Yuri came in and hit Jiro with a spatula against his head. "You have mixing to do, you pink airhead." He glared at the male as he held his head.

"Why are you so mean to me!" Jiro whined but headed back to mixing.

"Because you're annoying," Yuri told him before one of Daniel's guests piped up.

"Ooo, what are you guys making?"

"Yeah, it smells delicious!" One of the group members of Daniel's guests asked.

"We're making a strawberry-chocolate triple-layered cake, along with some cupcakes. We plan on doing a bake sale to continue promoting our club." Hikari told them with a smile.

"How did you do this so fast?" Daniel couldn't help but ask, looking at Hikari for answers.

"Multitasking!" Hikari smiled brightly even though it didn't give Daniel the answer he wanted.

"Ooo, can we cook with you?" The girls asked excitedly.

"Of course you can! Who wants to be the taste tester?" Hikari gave the girls a smile as they all immediately rose their hands with blushes on their faces.

This whole thing only made Daniel groaned and cover his face with his hand. 'I swear this is just like the Host Club.' He thought as he watched Riku take out a tray of cupcakes from out of the oven.

Eventually, the cooking club was full of people wanting to cook sweets and interact with Daniel's friends. "So, how did you guys meet Danielle?" Someone asked the club members while they were making their third batch of cupcakes.

"Well, I've known them since we were babies, our parents were friends and we always hung out because of that," Jiro told them before hugging Danielle again. "And I couldn't have asked for a better friend as cute as them!" Jiro cooed as Daniel struggled in his grasp.

"I met Danielle in first grade on the first day. We became friends after they punched me in the eye." Hikari chuckled slightly.

"What! I didn't know Danielle was a violent child." A girl gasped.

"I wouldn't call them violent, it was that one time and it was an accident. It was during playtime and we were running around and Danielle didn't know I was behind them and swung their arm out hitting me in the face." Hikari explained.

"I don't remember that," Daniel replied after pinching Jiro's wrist so he would be let go.

"I'm not surprised. The day after you asked how I got a black eye and I couldn't be mad at someone who didn't know what they did." Hikari chuckled.

"Yeah, Danielle was pretty clumsy and oblivious as a child. In fact, they still are now!" Jiro grinned earning a glare from Daniel.

"I'm not clumsy or oblivious!" Daniel denied.

"How about you and Riku, Yuri?" A girl asked them.

"We didn't meet Danielle until third grade. I stole their snacks and Riku made me apologize and we started hanging out after that." Yuri told them.

"Yeah if you want a violent child you should've seen Yuri as a child," Jiro told them with a laugh before Yuri twisted the pink-ette's wrist causing the male to cry out and started exclaiming, 'Uncle!' until Yuri let go sending Jiro to head to the corner to nurse his hurt wrist.

"You're so lucky to have them as friends, Danielle." A blonde girl told Daniel as he was watching the scene.

Daniel just let out a hum in reply, "Yeah, I am." He said slightly smiling at the interactions between his friends. They were all a bunch of weirdos, but he had a tendency to attract weirdos as he thought of the Host Club. It was nice to have friends like them.

"Hey, have you heard the time Danielle almost burned down our school when he tried making a sandwich?" Jiro asked with a laugh making Daniel's smile turn to a frown.

"Don't you dare!" Daniel shouted angrily as the others laughed. He was wrong, it wasn't nice to have friends like these!
