Chapter 14: The Accidental Reveal!
It's been weeks since Aaron has been rejected by Danielle. Even if his feelings weren't reciprocated he was just glad he was able to be her friend. Though his feelings never wavered.
Every time he saw her his heart fluttered and wouldn't stop beating. His face would flush and he would get all nervous. He was still a little upset he didn't win that contest to go on a date with her.
He had a hard time going up to her and talking to her, they haven't spent much time together, she was always so busy or he was just too shy to do anything. Why couldn't he just talk to her like a normal person?
The blonde let out a sigh as he laid his head on his desk, blushing slightly as he stared at the heart with his and her initials in the middle of the heart in his notebook. If only he could be more confident in himself.
"Hey, Aaron, can we talk in the hallway?" He heard Danielle speak to him causing the male to shoot up and shut his notebook, blushing brightly.
"What? O-of course!" He exclaimed, hoping she didn't see what he drew in his notebook. She already knew his feelings for her but it was still embarrassing. Though, he couldn't help but wonder what she wanted to talk to him about. It must be important since she wanted to speak with him alone.
Aaron quickly got up and followed her out of the classroom and into the hall, a part of him couldn't help but hope she was going to confess to him, but it wasn't likely.
Once they were out in the hallway Danielle turned to face him. His heart couldn't stop beating in his chest as he stared at her, admiring her features from her long, black hair and her beautiful, green eyes.
"I need some help, I told the class president and the vice president I would help out with some things, but I just learned I have to go to the host club, do you think you can go in my place? Tell them I'll make it up to them." She told him, looking at him expectantly.
Aaron felt his chest tighten when it wasn't what he was expecting, but he wasn't going to say no to her. "Alright, I can do that." He told her, causing her to give him a smile which gave him more butterflies in his stomach.
"Thank you, so much, I'll make it up to you." She told him making him blush and nod, she was just so cute he couldn't help it.
"There you are! Come on, we have to go to the Host Club, the Boss wants to discuss some stuff." The twins suddenly showed up causing her to sigh.
"Alright, let's go." She told them, heading off with the twins, not looking back.
Aaron couldn't help but feel a little envious of the twins and those in the Host Club, they were able to spend so much time with her and they were so much more confident than him. No wonder she would rather spend time with them, he was too boring to hang out with.
He let out a small sigh, looking down, and paused seeing something on the floor. He couldn't help but bend down and pick up the object. He assumed it was Danielle's wallet, she must have dropped it. He opened it up to just be sure and he did saw her picture on her id, but something was wrong. Her id said that Danielle's name was really Daniel and that she was a guy.
Everything froze for him as he processed the information. This whole time he was admiring who he thought was a girl was actually a boy. He couldn't believe it, but she-he looked so much like a girl, they even had long hair and a feminine face and frame.
There must be an explanation for this, this just had to be a joke. If this wasn't did that mean the Hosts knew Danielle was actually a guy? Probably, they were so close. Oh god, what was he going to do?
First thing's first he was going to return her- his wallet. Hopefully, then he would get an explanation of what was going on.
As he headed towards the Host Club he couldn't help but think about his feelings for him. He wasn't gay from what he knew, but even knowing Daniel was a guy he couldn't stop the blush on his cheeks as he thought about him.
"N-No, stop it!" He told himself, slapping his cheeks. 'He's a guy, I'm a guy! I'm not gay!' He thought to himself as he found himself in front of the Host Club doors. He was hesitant as he reached for the handle, he was so nervous. He paused when he heard voices coming from the other side of the door.
"Where did you leave it last? Your wallet couldn't have gone far." Haruhi asked Daniel while the male was panicking.
"I think in the classroom, but what if someone else finds it? My ID is in there!" Daniel exclaimed.
"Yeah, if people find out you're a guy, that will prove to be a problem, you'll be expelled." The twins told Daniel.
"You don't need to remind me, I need to go look for it." He told the others.
"It seems you don't need to do that," Kyoya replied as everyone's attention went to the door seeing Aaron holding the wallet.
Aaron gulped and licked his lips slightly, his nerves were through the roof. "Um, I-I found your wallet." He told them. "A-Are you really a guy?" He then asked Daniel.
"What, of course not, Daniel's not a guy, not at all!" Tamaki and the twins tried to defend but Daniel pushed them away.
"It doesn't help if you use my name." He snapped at the trio before looking back at Aaron. "Yeah, I'm a guy." He told Aaron.
Now that Daniel admitted it Aaron dropped the wallet. "Oh god." He said, holding his hands on either side of his head.
"Well, now that he knows we have a situation on our hands," Kyoya told the others before looking over at Aaron, causing the blonde to tense up. "Mr. Mikalo, have a seat, please," Kyoya told Aaron with a smile, the feeling of dread going through the blonde's body.
Aaron felt his body move on its own as he walked over and took a seat, now he was fearing for his life. What would they do to him? What was going to happen now?
"What should we do with him? He could tell the whole school that Daniel's a boy!" Tamaki exclaimed as the others grouped up.
"We could always jog his memory." The twins suggested taking out some bats with a glint in their eyes causing Aaron to start sweating.
"Guys, stop, you're not going to harm him," Daniel told them.
"Let's just explain the situation to him, it'll be better if he knows why Daniel has to keep his gender a secret," Haruhi suggested.
"I agree, that would prevent having to pay for cleanup," Kyoya replied before they faced Aaron once more.
Aaron felt himself hold his breath as he waited for something to happen to him, anything as he waited for them to stop talking. Soon enough they all faced him.
"As you have found out, Daniel Hideyoshi is actually a boy. You see there have been some mistakes that misinformed the system about Daniel. As soon as it was set, the school knows Daniel as Danielle Hideyoshi. If it goes out that Daniel is a boy he will be expelled from the school for faking his identity as a girl and it will go on his permanent record." Kyoya told Aaron as Daniel couldn't help but get nervous.
Daniel really couldn't believe he was so close to having his future ruined, he felt like he could throw up. He was really hoping Aaron wouldn't tell anyone, he couldn't afford to let this get out.
With Aaron's silence, Kyoya continued. "Take note that with all of our families we could easily make sure you will receive dire consequences yourself if you mention this to anyone outside of this room." Kyoya threatened with a smile, making Aaron pale.
Aaron shook as the blonde felt scared for his life and for his parents' lives. All he could do was nod and shakily spoke up. "N-Nope, nothing will leave this room. I promise." Aaron replied, his voice cracking slightly as he just prayed that would be it.
Daniel did feel relieved at Aaron's words, he did feel bad for him getting scared about it. He didn't know if Kyoya was serious about his threat but he would make sure it wouldn't happen. So as the others discussed Aaron, Daniel walked up to the blonde making Aaron look up at him from his seat.
Now that Aaron took a better look at Daniel he could see some male characteristics on his face. He didn't know he was staring until Daniel waved over his eyes causing the male to squeak and blush brightly. Even with this new knowledge Aaron still found Daniel cute.
"Are you alright?" Daniel asked him. "I know this is a lot to handle and I promise nothing will happen to you if you do tell someone about me..." Daniel said looking away slightly with a small frown.
Aaron's eyes widen and quickly stood up. "No! I-I mean, I am alright, but I won't tell anyone about you! We're still friends!" Aaron quickly went to comfort Daniel, the blush faint on the blonde's features.
Daniel smiled and looked back at Aaron causing the other's heart to skip a beat. "Yeah, we are. Thanks. Come on, let's leave before the others can do something stupid." Daniel told him, heading to the double doors to leave with Aaron quickly following behind so he wouldn't have to suffer anymore from the Host Club.
As the two walked through the halls Aaron couldn't help but confirm again that Daniel was really a guy. "So, you're really a guy?" He asked earning a nod.
"Yup, I just have a pretty face and hair to make that hard to believe." Daniel sighed as Aaron looked over to take another look at Daniel's features.
'Yeah, very pretty.' Aaron thought before blushing brightly at his thoughts and quickly looked ahead. He really couldn't believe he has been in love with a guy this whole time. He wasn't gay, he couldn't be, but the more time he spent with Daniel the more confusing his feelings were.
It made Aaron think more about himself, he has always focused on girls so he couldn't say if he found other guys attractive. He thought of his male classmates and his upperclassmen. Could he imagine dating any of them? The one that comes close is Honey-Senpai.
Honey was cute and Aaron did find himself blush slightly at the thought of the smaller male smiling at him and hanging around him, but that was nothing compared to how he felt with Daniel. He could see himself with more girls than boys though, so maybe he wasn't gay, but bi? It was possible. He would have to think more about it.
"Oh, Aaron. Thanks again for bringing me my wallet." Daniel told him, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"O-Oh, yeah, no problem." Aaron smiled slightly, looking over at Daniel, seeing the other looking over at him.
Daniel closed his eyes and gave him a bright smile causing Aaron to blush as he looked forward again. He was screwed, he was in love with a guy and he couldn't do a thing about it.
Aaron then heard Daniel chuckle at him which only caused him to blush until his ears were red as well, he really had it bad.
