"So let's get this straight. He got through eight officers and two Hyper Force?" Sprx asked, an amused grin spreading across his lips.
"And then blew the lorry up too? …."Awesome!" Otto applauded.
"No! It is not awesome Otto." Gibson scolded. "and as for you big shot Sparky. You might find this situation highly amusing, but this is a serious issue!"
"Yeah we need to open up applications for new members, we're down one and two are not up to scratch." Sprx jabbed.
"And we can start by booting you straight off the team Sprx." Nova teased.
"Enough." Antauri stopped, watching his squabbling brothers and sister fall silent instantly.
"We need answers. He may be skilled but he does not have the advantage of working as a team. We need to split up to see if we can track this one down. The police cannot get involved again. It is too dangerous for them."
"Agreed. Though it was unfortunate that they were there." Gibson sighed.
Pulling into the city centre car park. Chiro quickly shut the engine off as he kicked the stand out to support the bike.
"That was too close Maezono." Chiro warned angrily down his communicator. "We are not making a habit of this!"
"You work best under pressure my boy. Great work."
Sighing the boy was quick to ditch the motorbike. Wiping the beads of sweat off his forehead. He walked to the exit of the car park, heading into the city centre mall.
Passing the busy shops Chiro dodged the civilians that were out and about with ease. Hanging his head low as his once bright cerulean eyes gave way to a troubled dullness. A gaze that barely bounced off the pavement.
Chiro's progress was going well until a familiar noise tingled in his ear. Sending a shiver down his spine as he quickly ran. Darting towards the nearest alley.
Sinking into the soft shadows of the Shugazoomian evening, Chiro listened intently to the sound of jet packs nearing.
"Wow mummy it's the monkey team." A little girl shouted out from outside the alley. Tugging the pleat of her mother's dress as she pointed to the sky above.
"Oh boy there could be a delay Maezono." Chiro warned quietly, as he backed up and ducked under the staircase of a nearby fire escape. To help hide his position from the air.
"Come on Antauri, this is like looking for a needle in a haystack." Sprx whinged as he flew alongside the silver primate. "We barely know what we are looking for."
"Keep your eyes pealed Sprx, look for anything suspicious."
As the sound of jet packs vanished into the distance Chiro slowly and carefully came out of his hiding spot. Leaving the cover behind cautiously as he tried to determine his next move.
"I'm going to have to get out of here and quick, they could loop back." Chiro warned down the communicator as he took one more look at the sky his team mates' once was before striding out through the hustle and bustle of the city.
Grabbing a black hoodie from a market stall, whose owner wasn't observant enough. Chiro threw it upon himself. Shielding his identity more as he pulled the cotton hood up tight to his ears.
'This sucks' Chiro thought as he hurried quickly. But not quick enough.
Crackling of the communicator soon indicated the imminent arrival.
Maezono's robotic tones were soon there. Venom dripping into every word. "You are getting slower to return to me. I can see you are taking a deliberately slow route."
"I'm trying to not be seen Maezono! It's called stealth." The infuriated teen growled back.
"It's called disobedience! Your eyes do not lie to me Chiro. You on the other hand do constantly!"
"Fine let's just go back street. First place I would look for, when hunting dodgy characters anyway!" Chiro huffed, taking off as he booted an empty drinks can in frustration at his predicament.
Heading down the nearest alleyway Chiro meandered his way to the edge of town. Exiting the alleyway without any consideration. Chiro's furious, racing mind failed to notice the car approaching.
"Do I have to remind you of the detonators strapped to your back? If you self destruct I will send the robot and monkey team to oblivion too!"
"Maezono, I am warning you, your threats will be your undoing."
"And you got to watch out boy or your going to be road kill…"
Jumping back at the last second, Chiro clocked the car screeching to a halt in front of him, mere metres from knocking him down. Letting out a gasp, he just about recognised his newest predicament.
"Get out the road kid! You could have been killed!" A larger, greying man shouted.
'Oh Shugazoom' Chiro mentally sighed.
"Wait a minute those goggles, that's the one they're looking for from the lorry heist." A smaller, younger man stated.
'Crap this is not good! They've recognised me from a description' Chiro internally blasted himself for his lack of attention. Rolling his eyes as he crossed his arms, waiting for the inevitable.
"Good work Jones, Stay where you are you are under arrest for the suspicion of armed robbery." An inspector announced as both he and his sergeant inelegantly climbed out the small police car.
Scrunching his face up, the teen watched as the two policemen bumbled nervously into better positions.
"Maezono this might be an issue." Chiro stated quietly.
"You are joking?! Let them catch you for a bit. Toy with them." Maezono ordered.
"But they're scared." Chiro answered back.
"Perfect. You know what to do. I will be watching your every move." Maezono stated before the communicator silenced.
"Take the back pack off and put your hands out in front of you where we can see them. We are not messing around." The inspector ordered as both aimed their weapons at the boy.
Sighing, Chiro felt his skin crawl as he carefully unclipped his back pack. Placing it on the ground as the Sergeant replaced his gun and grabbed the bag instead.
Unzipping it, carefully the Sergeant seemed to gulp. Looking nervously between the bag and the boy. "I think their explosives, sir."
"Wow, you're observant," Chiro grinned.
"Cuff him Jones before he gets any more ideas." The inspector ordered.
Grinning as the sergeant shakily clicked the cuffs on his wrists. Chiro flexed his hands admiring the new look.
"All done sir." Jones confirmed.
"Excellent work jones. Coax him into the car so we can take him to the station." The older inspector stated.
"Not sure I want to go to the station." Chiro answered back.
"Well you don't make the rules boy so your going to the station!"
Laughing Chiro shook his head. "I wouldn't be so sure of that." Chiro answered darkly with a smirk as he glanced back to his wrists.
"Get him in the car Jones."
"Aww look at the pretty bracelets," Chiro chimed as he ripped his wrists apart. Breaking the cuffs instantly. "Oh… they just snapped."
"Do we have any uh stronger cuffs." The sergeant asked cluelessly.
"In the car Jones. Quick!"
"I don't think so." Chiro stated as he grabbed his backpack off the floor and swung it onto his back again.
"Stop or I'll shoot." The inspector barked.
"Shall I radio for back up Sir."
"Yes Jones and quick!"
"You won't shoot me. You'll blow half the street up if you hit the pack." Chiro taunted bridging the gap between the two policemen.
"Stay back!" The sergeant yelled!
"Then allow me to help you out instead." Chiro invited as he opened up his freed palm. A green blast soon engulfing the car as it combusted and bounced up the road effortlessly.
As the cops' mouths hit the ground in bewilderment Chiro turned his attention to escaping. Lighting his palm up again he aimed the powered up attack directly into the ground. Kicking up enough of a dust cloud to vanish in its wake.
Stumbling across the beach the exhausted teenager reached the entrance to the secret lab. Feet reluctantly dragging down the metal corridor as the bright lights of the main room blinded him in a return greeting.
"The wonder boy returns at last."
"Do not say another word to me! That was too much." Chiro growled. "Take your stupid detonators I'm done!"
"Chill out Chiro. You worked superbly with your feral baboon powers and survival instinct. We make an incredible team!"
"Team? I'm the only one doing anything!" Chiro spat back as he made his way to the siding room he had taken to resting in.
"Curb the anger and language boy. It would be a shame for the fireworks to start."
Spinning on his heels the teen growled wildly, eyes glaring daggers towards the robot that stood in the centre of the laboratory.
"Don't push it." Chiro warned, the red mist descending before him, before he turned back and left the robot alone in the room.
"How did we miss him this time?" Sprx asked as he gracefully landed. Cutting off his jet pack as he was joined by his metallic brother.
"It is unnerving how this one is evading us completely. It is beginning to become more complex than we first thought Sprx." Antauri agreed as they walked towards the damaged vehicle.
"That creature is not what it seems."
"Not human!"
"He's broke the cuffs, he's blown up our car. He's… gotten away with what he's stolen from the lorry heist too!"
Exchanging glances between them, Antauri telekinetically put the last of the flames out from the car's engine.
"Did you see what he looked like?" Sprx asked quickly as the policeman seemed to stumble about their answers. Still in shock.
"Dressed in black, don't even know if it had a face the goggles made it impossible to see."
"Hair was scarfed up - that's if it had any. It has to be an evil robot. It was way too strong."
"What way did he go?" Antauri asked, urgency in his voice.
"Don't know he smoked the entire area, and vanished into thin air."
"They're not much use Antauri."
Nodding his head in agreement the two monkeys turned away.
"They're in shock Sprx," Antauri whispered, as Jinmay and Nova soon landed too.
"No way!" Nova exclaimed seeing the chaos. Her eyes widening at the scene.
"Is this one going to just keep hitting the city." Jinmay questioned.
"Possibly wrong place, wrong time." Sprx answered. "But he successfully evaded these too."
As the last pair landed, the green and blue monkey gritted their teeth.
"This does not look good." Otto commented; as the team regrouped next to the remains of the carnage.
