Daniel flipped through one of his books while laying on his bed. It was a regular Saturday and he already finished homework. It was nice to get some peace and quiet on the weekends. They usually didn't last long due to his friends calling him up to hang out like they used to.

He let out a sigh blowing a strand of hair from his face before deciding to get up and find something to eat. He headed down and saw a note from his mom telling him she'd be back soon. He made a face at the note.

Lately his mom has been going to the doctor more often and it was a bit worrying, but she just kept saying she was fine. He's certain she didn't get a job as a nurse, it's just not something he can see her doing that's not her art work.

Letting out a sigh he placed the note back and opened the fridge. After scrounging through the fridge he just made a simple turkey and cheese sandwich. He doesn't dare try to toast the bread first though. He'd probably set the kitchen on fire.

When his mom came back she looked excited. "Daniel, you're still here, good good. I mean where would you go other than your room?" She said rambling a bit as she went over putting her purse on the kitchen table. "I have some news I'm ready to share with you." She told him making him perk up.

"Is it related to you going to the hospital a lot lately?" Daniel asked her making her nod smiling brightly.

She took out a folder and held it out for Daniel to take. Curious, Daniel took and opened the folder seeing ultra sound pictures. "You're having a little sibling!" He heard his mom tell him happily, excited about it.

Daniel meanwhile is in shock as he stared at the photos. "W-wow." He responded as she took the folder back.

"Wow indeed!" She said hugging the folder to her chest and started talking about making dinner to celebrate with them, but Daniel was still processing the fact he was going to be a big brother.

Even at school his mind was somewhere else, thinking about how he's not going to be an only child anymore. Everything else was a blur and he was on autopilot.

"He's been like this for days, it's concerning." The twins said as the hosts were watching Daniel spilling tea while staring off into space.

"He's ruining perfectly good table cloths that'll have to be sent to the cleaners." Kyoya responded typing on his computer.

"Haruhi, you're the closest to him, find out what's bothering him." Tamaki told her.

"What, why me?" She asked before sighing and walking over to Daniel. "Hey, you alright?" She asked him when she placed a hand on his shoulder, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"What? Oh... Oh shit!" Daniel exclaimed when he saw the cup was beyond over flowing as he placed the tea pot down. "I'm fine, I'm fine." He said but it wasn't convincing.

"You've been staring off into space quite a bit, are you sure you're alright?" She asked softly as Daniel was trying to clean his mess.

He stopped a bit before looking away a bit. "You don't have siblings, right?" He asked her.

"Uh, no?" She asked raising a brow. "Why?" She asked him.

Daniel messed with the cloth he was using to dry up the tea. "My mom's pregnant."

Haruhi's eyes widened. "Oh, congratulations, that's great news, isn't it?" She told him.

"Yeah, I mean, I guess. I don't know. I'm still processing." He told her looking away. "Am I even going to be a good brother?" He asked softly.

Haruhi looked at him her eyes softening. "You're going to be a great big brother, you have nothing to worry about." She assured him making him smile a bit but he wasn't really convinced.

Daniel stepped over to Kyoya's table as he was typing on his laptop. "Is there something you need?" Kyoya asked not looking up from his laptop.

He hesitated but sat down. "You have siblings, right? What is that like?" He asked Kyoya making pause in his typing.

He breathed in and sat back. "Well I'm the youngest Ootori in my family. I'm quite sure my family life is far different to yours. I have to fight to be seen and I won't be the heir to the company unless I prove to my father I should be the heir. You don't have to worry about that." Kyoya told him and Daniel just blinked at him.

"Are you... Okay?" Daniel asked Kyoya looking at him.

He simply smiled. "Never better, it's exciting like this." He told him making him sweat a bit. "You have nothing to worry about for your future sibling." He told him and Daniel wasn't surprised he knew.

Well Kyoya wasn't much help for him as he got up leaving the male be. He thought of who else had siblings and saw Honey and Mori together. Those two were already family so they must know what it's like to be big brothers.

"Elle-chan! Are you going to join us for some cake?" Honey asked happily seeing him approach the table.

"Actually I wanted to ask you two something." He replied as Honey tilted his head.

"Oh? What is it?" Honey replied smiling at him patiently.

"You both have little siblings right?" He asked and saw them nod. "What is that like?" He asked softly.

Honey hummed as he thought. "Well you just want what's best for them, you'll have someone looking up to you and you want to make sure you're a good influence." Honey said before he sighed. "Chika-chan is a middle schooler here, but we don't have the relationship I hope... But it's fine, I just want him to be happy." Honey smiled at him. "I'm confident he'll be fine, he has Toshi-chan looking after him, Mori's little brother."

Daniel nodded but he couldn't help but feel bad for Honey if his little brother doesn't really like him. He doesn't want to happen to his future sibling. Just the thought of having a sibling not wanting to deal with you in any way made his heart ache.

"Be yourself and you'll do fine." Mori told him which made Daniel mentally groan. That's basically what Kyoya and Haruhi said but what if that's not enough, that he can't be a good influence for them. He could feel his stomach go into knots at the thought of it.

"Thanks guys." He replied and stood up and headed off and sighed. So far no one was really much help. He sat at his table before a pair of twins appeared behind him on the couch.

"Why so glum?" They asked him and poked his cheeks. Daniel waved their hands away.

"I just don't know what to do." Daniel replied and sighed. "My mom's pregnant but I have no idea how to be a big sibling to them. I don't want them to think I don't care about them, or do something that makes them hate me." He said and laid his head on the table.

The twins looked at each other. "Daniel that's not going to happen." They told him making Daniel look up at them.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, we can see you'll be a great big brother." They told him before Hikaru spoke. "You have been asking the others about their siblings just to know what you can do. It's obvious you care enough. As an older brother all you can do is watch them grow, be there when they need you, but also not be over bearing. So far you do a good job at that with others. You being yourself is what makes people like you so I believe they'll like you too." Hikaru told him poking his forehead.

Daniel just stared at Hikaru making the male tense and blush a bit, looking away. "If you're that concerned ask the person holding your knew sibling, or even your dad." Kaoru said directing his attention away from his brother.

The male looked on in thought. "That might work. Thanks guys." He said getting up with a smile and heading off.

Hikaru huffed rubbing his face to get rid of the blush. "Good speech, never heard you so passionate." Kaoru teased him.

"Oh shut up Kaoru." Hikaru rolled his eyes as his twin snickered.

At home Daniel found his parents in the living room. "Hey sweety, how was school?" his mother asked with a smile.

"It was fine, I had my mind on the baby stuff." He said slightly putting his bag down. "Will I be a good brother?" He asked them.

"Daniel, what brought this on?" His father asked him as they looked at him.

"I just don't. I don't even know if they'll like me." Daniel said feeling embarrassed and silly for feeling like this.

"Oh honey, they'll love you." His mom said standing up and heading over hugging him.

"They'll look at me as a fake crossdresser. I don't... I'm just. I don't know." Daniel sighed.

"Daniel, it's okay to just be yourself. Your predicament of being misgendered and in return dressing as a girl can be difficult for you and if you say the word we'll go down there and fix it if it troubles you so much." His father said.

Daniel felt his hair playing with it. "... No, but I don't want my brother or sister thinking I'm a girl." He said and paused looking at his hair.

"They won't because you know you're not a girl. You wear a dress but that doesn't make you any less of a guy. You're Daniel Hideyoshi, you're our son and you're perfect and I know you'll do everything to make your sibling happy and confident in themselves too." His dad told him and Daniel smiled softly.

"I think you're right." He said and headed to the bathroom. "I should start being myself." He told himself while looking in the mirror. He paused when in the mirror he looked like his mom. The whole point was keeping her memory by growing his hair out... In a sense being her...

"I don't think I ever been myself for a long time." He said softly and glanced at the scissors.

People were already talking a Daniel came to school the next day, still in the yellow dress but still looking different. "Morning." Daniel smiled coming in class.

"Danielle? What happened? Your hair." A classmate asked him.

"I decided to cut it. I think short hair suits me better." He smiled as he touched his hair.

"Yeah, you look so cute." A girl giggled as Daniel was already being talked to by girls in the class.

Kaoru looked amused as he watched his brother hide his face in his textbook with a pure red face.

'HOW CAN HE BE MORE CUTE!?' Hikaru mentally screamed as he peeked up watching Daniel smile and talk with others. "I'm screwed." Hikaru muttered.

"Yeah you are." Kaoru chuckled.

A/N: Sorry for the slow update, I'm thankful for all those who stayed, writers block is awful, but I'm trying to get back in the groove of things. I still am replying to comments on this to the best of my ability from multiple sites in each chapter. I might have to stop adding links in some because it's hard to manage.

Anyway hope you all have a good Christmas or Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate!

From Quotev:

Ichimatsu Is Bae: Honey getting so cranky was always kind of weird to me, it almost feels out of character even when we get to see a more serious demeanor from him. This chapter makes me like Mori even more.

Yeah, I feel that, but I honestly like how there's more to Honey than just smiles and flowers.

(deactivated user): This is interesting 👌❤️

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy it. Hopefully you will see this with your new account or something.

wellthatjustperfect (Chapter 1): I absolutely love the family dynamics

I'm glad you do!

LightsaberEwok (Chapter 1): So he's like the opposite of Haruhi?

Almost, they knew Haruhi was a girl when she got in, but somehow forgot pretty much, lol. Daniel, thy just assumed he was a girl.

Canible (Chapter 1):question are they talking in the language the mother speaks in or Japanese?

Japanese

This-Is-Such-A-Mess (multiple chapters): (1) I don't think you can get someone a legal passport without them being involved

(4) I think that's like a crime

(9) I liked this it was cute

(10) The twins weren't his friends first?

(13) Don't focus on that, focus on the "you don't know self defense"

(15) Oh god not the feminazis

Thanks for all the comments, I'll answer that question. No Daniel has childhood friends.

Anime_over_Sleep (1): If he was born in the States and moved to Japan when he was a baby, shouldn't he already have a passport? And they just update it when needed?

I did some small amount of research, and all US citizens (born in the US), even infants, are required to have a passport.

(5) That's what I did at every sleepover I had with my friends. I would start off sleeping in the living room with everyone else and then move to my bedroom sometime in the middle of the night. It happened with my cousins too

Expired passport.

As for the US citizens born in the US requiring a passport. I never heard of this! I could've had a passport this entire time!? I didn't do research for that, lol but yeah just think it's expired and he'll need to go out and renew his passport. I'm sure they expire after ten years I think.

Man I only had like two sleepovers in my whole childhood and it was at someone elses houses. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought (or did) of this, lol
