Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Broken Shadows. Enjoy the 5500-word chapter. I don't own Halo; Microsoft and a few others do.
Naomi was quiet at the moment as she looked downrange. She watched as one of the elites collapsed, a 14.5x114mm shell through his head.
"Sentry down, moving up," Naomi reported as she slid down the ridge. "Any new targets ahead?" Naomi asked to which there was a small hum.
"2 ridgelines, elites. Permission to engage, ma'am?" Sabert asked before there was a silence.
"Hold fire, Black Box? Status?" Osman asked to which Naomi was silent.
"All assets in position. Enemy sentries are moving to secure the area," Black Box reported. "They're not aware of who attacked them." Black Box added while Osman hummed.
"Naomi? Plant C12 in position. Sabert? Drop the sentries. Our team is almost in position." Osman ordered as the line fell silent.
Naomi looked back as the headhunter. She could see the barrel of his SRS99-S5 sniper as the spartan shifted his aim slightly. Naomi hummed to which the soldier spoke.
"Tell me when I've spotted 8 sentries," Sabert added before Naomi nodded. "I can hit 4 before I have to reload. You're going to have to neutralize the other 4." Sabert put in with a sigh.
He looked at the 2 new clips next to him. The Spartan-III Headhunter knew he could make the new bullets count. He looked through the scope at the II who had drawn her M6H.
"Mark," Naomi stated to her partner. "4 shots chambered, yes?" Naomi asked as Sabert hummed.
"Yes. Just reloaded." Sabert responded before Naomi spoke.
"Top 4. I'll take care of the lower sentries." Naomi ordered as the sniper responded with a pull of the trigger.
Naomi watched as the elite on top of the tower collapsed, shields failing as purple mist marked its death. The other sentry turned only for a bullet to enter its head as well.
Naomi broke cover as a third shot hit a jackal sniper, blowing it clean off the ramparts. The final bullet slashed through the air, nailing the other sniper before she brought up her handgun as she did so.
There was a squeeze of the trigger as the jackal she had been eyeing spun and collapsed. She fired again, this time at a grunt who spotted her and was trying to bring its weapon to fire. She turned in time to fire at a third grunt.
"Forth contact, flanking you!" Sabert yelled to which Naomi pivoted.
The fourth was a white armored elite with an energy sword clasped in its hands. Naomi turned only for the soldier to slam into her, throwing the spartan to the ground while she cursed as she spun along the ground.
The elite continued to press its attack as Naomi drew her knife and started to engage the soldier. It charged forward, aiming to skewer the Spartan-II on its blade.
Sabert aimed through his scope as he dropped the magazine and slammed a new one into his weapon. He tried to get a clean shot on the reptilian warrior while the elite and Naomi brawled.
"Damn it!" Sabert yelled before he shook his head. "Naomi. No shot. Repeat. I have no shot on the target." Sabert added as he started to think through his options.
Naomi and the elite continued to battle below. She danced around his stabs while trying to land one of her own. Naomi stayed silent while continuing to battle the soldier at the moment. She knew for a fact that this elite was nearly as skilled as she was.
The soldier, however? Was far too eager to claim first blood on her as it launched itself forward. The lunge it attempted made overextended itself while she sidestepped the soldier and stabbed the soldier in the throat. There was another stab in the stomach as Naomi stabbed him once again in the chest. The elite collapsed, its shields flaring as it dropped dead to the ground.
"Target neutralized," Naomi added before she plucked her knife from the creature. "Any other sentries?" Naomi asked to which she was greeted with a sigh.
Sabert was silent as he checked his scope for a moment. He waited a few seconds before he responded to her.
"Negative. I'm repositioning. Black Box stated two more positions in front of us, heat signals mobile." Sabert stated before he lowered his rifle. "Give me 3 minutes, be mobile in 2. Ma'am? Me and Kilo 6 are proceeding with the next stage, permission to proceed?" Sabert asked while grabbing the magazines on the ground.
"Proceed." He heard before looking at Naomi.
There was a nod as the two Spartans moved towards the next checkpoint. Neither said more than needed, but there was an interest in her movements. She checked what was around her more than once.
"Kilo 3 to Kilo 6." Both heard as they stopped. "Need support. A pelican D77 model is arriving. Their landing inside the complex. I can see at least 20 human contacts." They heard which made the Spartans start to frown in their armor.
Humans? Both were aware this base was filled with former covenant soldiers. The Spartans weren't blown away by this, but both were well aware there was indeed something that needed to be done. They waited for the next order from their commander.
"Orders?" Naomi asked while Sabert lowered his rifle. "Ma'am? We can be mobile in 1 minute." Naomi added and looked at Sabert.
There was a silence as their commander weighed her options. She was aware the Spartans were both eager to get to work, it was part of who they were as people. The duo waited for a heartbeat before Osman spoke.
"Kilo 6 and 7, instigate the pelican. Secure any data and eliminate any hostiles." Osman ordered as both Spartans nodded. "Kilo 3? Proceed with the original objective. We're on a times table." Osman added before she clicked the line off.
There was a pinprick of motion before a data point was placed on their HUDs. The direction pointed to a tower that seemed to be at least 2 kilometers tall. Their visors picked up several heat signatures.
"You taking a sniper position?" Naomi asked to which Sabert shook his head.
"Armor plating is too thick," Sabert said while he holstered his rifle across his back. "Lead the way," Sabert said before he drew his DMR.
Naomi nodded while Sabert leaped down next to her and slowly fell into step with the spartan-II. They slowly advanced.
"Be advised, heat signatures imply at least 2 dozen hostiles with at least 1 dropship active." Black Box reported to which both gave an affirmative.
"Not used to this much comm activity?" Sabert asked to which Naomi nodded. "IIIs talk a bit more. Headhunters don't, not if the line isn't secure like it is here. We are engaging them directly?" Sabert questioned as Naomi was silent.
Naomi contemplated if they were still a diversion that was meant to draw off the enemy forces. She doubted either she or Sabert were incapable of engaging the enemy directly, but they wouldn't be able to leave a hostile standing if they wanted to erase any remnant of their presence.
"Move in slowly," Naomi stated while she brought up her assault rifle. "I'll go low," Naomi added to which Sabert nodded.
Sabert started to climb the stone and into the rocky outcroppings of the cliff face. Naomi slowly started forward while sweeping her rifle back and forth as she went. Neither spoke a word.
(UNSC Port Stanley)
Osman watched the squad move into position as she straightened up and looked at the mission clock. A solid 20 minutes had been dedicated to this mission which meant they were still on schedule. She turned to Black Box who had fallen silent after informing Naomi and Sabert.
"Mission status?" Osman asked while she raised an eyebrow at one of her subordinates.
"Squad is operating at 100% efficacy." Black Box reported as its avatar slowly materialized. "There has been an elimination of at least 20-30 hostile soldiers. I have detected at least 20-25 more." Black Box added while the cube glowed.
Osman nodded and fell silent as she started to look at the console. If the brass knew this mission was happening? They'd ask why a pair of Spartans and a team of ODSTs were on an unsanctioned mission.
'There's a thousand missions which didn't happen. A thousand of which are off the books to the few that are.' Osman thought as she wondered how the Spartans were fine with this kind of black ops work.
Osman was aware of the fact that IIIs were made to be expendable cannon fodder, elite cannon fodder, but still, cannon fodder in the end. She was aware IIIs were VERY lethal, she and her mentor had reviewed their files.
"Kilo 7 and 8 are at the tower." Black Box stated before Osman started to review the data.
(With Naomi and Sabert)
Naomi stabbed the blue armored elite in the throat while she started forward. She turned to see Sabert throw a jackal to the ground before he executed them with their DMR. He stared at the woman before snapping his rifle upwards and firing. Naomi turned to see an elite with golden armor who had a rifle-like weapon towards him and her.
"Damn it, sniper!" Sabert shouted while he rushed towards cover.
Naomi started to do the same. The bullet had hit their armor and sparked their shields off. She started to think of what to do to slay this sniper who had pinned them down. It shouted to the soldiers who began to flank and fire at them.
"Zealot class?" Naomi asked to which Sabert nodded. "Armor will stand up to 3 shots from the SR. I can handle him." Naomi responded while Sabert shook his head.
He was aware a zealot was a big threat on their battlefield, even to a spartan. Still? He was also aware the bigger threat to deal with was the lance of the former covenant who was busy starting to slowly descend on their position. The sniper was a separate threat that could kill them if they weren't dispatched.
One of the jackals raised their rifle only for Sabert to nail it in the skull. The reptile-like soldier slowly fell to the ground with a bullet, a hole burned into its head. Sabert and Naomi put their backs to the stone-like wall before both leaned their heads out of cover. A beam of plasma forced them into cover.
"You think you can deal with the sniper, then?" Sabert asked with a raised eyebrow before he shook his head. "Fine, I'll deal with them at the moment. They're trying to flank us, and that sniper wants to put us into a kill box, how do you plan on doing this?" Sabert questioned as the Spartans started to think of what to do.
Naomi said nothing while she pondered the question while Sabert continued to battle with the covenant. They were persistent soldiers, and they weren't really easy to defeat… But they made mistakes.
"Can you draw his fire?" Naomi asked to which Sabert nodded and looked at her.
"Only for a few seconds, he gets a good shot? He'll take a head off." Sabert responded while he looked at her. "Go when I fire," Sabert stated before he twisted out of cover.
He shouldered his weapon and slammed the trigger. The shots rushed towards the zealot who aimed at him. He watched the soldier's shields flicker as he tried to shift his rifle towards him.
Sabert also felt warmth over his armor as his shields started to drain. He noticed movement on his radar as Naomi rounded the corner before she snapped up her sidearm.
Another burst of plasma greeted the spartan who shifted her aim towards the infantry. She watched a pair of grunts who fell to the ground with holes in their heads. Her shields fell towards empty while the spartan sprinted faster.
She heard the clack of a DMR and the cry of a jackal who seemed to fall to the ground with a screech of pain as Sabert engaged the enemy infantry.
She watched the hulking covenant sniper shift his aim to try and execute her. Naomi snapped her gun upwards as she fired and started to deplete the elite's shields.
The elite responded by drawing a hilt from its hip. Naomi watched as a blade of plasma blasted from the weapon. He roared towards the spartan who started to engage him.
"Naomi, status?" Sabert asked before Naomi drew her knife from her armor.
The elite leaped at her as Naomi twisted to the side before she slammed into the elite. They both collapsed down the hill as she braced for her to land on the ground. The duo slammed into the ground as Naomi started to uncoil like a snake.
"Engaging a zealot as your see," Naomi stated as she began to backpedal.
"There's another phantom incoming," Sabert responded as he started to fire his weapon again. "Port Stanley? I think intel might have been off. We're engaged by multiple enemy hostiles. Naomi? I can't assist you; I'm eliminating the enemy forces. What's the status of the other team?" Sabert stated while he shook his head.
The elite threw himself towards Naomi who was already backpedaling. She wondered what compelled this soldier to attack her in melee combat. Naomi was also aware of the fact that zealots were more dangerous than other Sangheili.
She dodged the next strike of the elite before she slammed her hand into the elite's throat. It didn't shatter his shields, but he did grasp at his throat before he managed a kick. Naomi was sent to the ground with her shields drained halfway before she grabbed her knife.
There was more gunfire as Sabert opened fire before a jackal slammed into the ground. He also eliminated 2 more grunts as the phantom passed overhead. Sabert almost wondered what the ex-covenant soldiers were doing here. The spartan III watched as Naomi stabbed the Sangheili in the stomach while she was punched to the ground.
"Having trouble?" Sabert asked before he dropped his clip and slid another into the weapon. "Port Stanley? We have more enemy reinforcements attacking our position." Sabert stated before he cleared his throat.
He was glad that Port Stanley had more ammo for their weapons. Sabert aimed his DMR and shot another grunt as the phantom opened fire towards him.
"Another team is converging on the enemy position." Sabert heard as the headhunter nodded and continued to shoot.
Sabert could hear the sound of each bullet of the 15 round clips as they exited the weapon. He dared not shift his aim towards Naomi's battle in the risk of accidental friendly fire.
The grunts and jackals were easy to dispatch, requiring one bullet to the skull… Though some didn't as he was forced to shoot a jackal's arm to dispatch them. Sabert ducked back into cover as his weapon clicked empty. He sighed and tossed the magazine aside before he pulled another from his armor and slid it into the gun.
He peeked out to see Naomi kick the Sangheili in the stomach, forcing it to double over. She battered the energy sword from the soldier's hands only for a headbutt to throw her back. Sabert shook his head at this.
'Zealots are as dangerous as a spartan. She doesn't kill him soon? He'll get the upper hand sooner or later.' Sabert thought before he noticed motion behind him.
His hand went to his knife hidden in his forearm armor. He spun on his heel fast enough to react to another elite with active camouflage. He somersaulted to the side as an energy sword slammed into the metal behind him.
"Perfect," Sabert muttered to himself as the elite pivoted to attack him. "Active camo using bas…" Sabert started to add before the alien soldier threw itself at him with a roar.
Sabert sidestepped the blade before it slammed into the metal behind him. He felt the heat of the weapon as it sliced and melted the metal behind him. It made him wonder if they wanted the duo to come to this area for a chance to kill them.
'They are Sangheili after all. War is in their blood like it is in ours.' Sabert thought to himself as he drew his knife from his hip.
He felt the Sangheili slam an arm into him as it tried to pin him for a chance of a kill. The spartan twisted to the side and kicked off its chest as it roared in rage. They threw themselves at each other with the intent to kill.
The spartan III was faster, pivoting around the blade and stabbing the soldier in the throat. The elite let out a gasp of air as it staggered forwards and collapsed to the dirt, its blade dying with it as it clattered to the ground.
"Sabert," Naomi stated as Sabert sheathed his knife inside his armor. "Hostiles are eliminated. Copy?" Naomi asked before the spartan grabbed his rifle and spun around the corner.
The elite that Naomi had engaged had its sword jammed into its chest by the Spartan-II. He also noticed a few more bodies on the ground as he felt a hand on his weapon which slowly lowered it.
He gazed to the right and noticed Naomi was next to him as the Spartan-IIs nodded.
"There are more zealots here than intel said," Sabert said as Naomi nodded and watched as the Spartan-III motioned for her to proceed forward. "Kilo 8 to Port Stanley. We are proceeding towards the objective to capture and eliminate hostiles." Sabert said as he and Naomi started to slowly march forward.
Both Spartans were disciplined and trained well. They fell back into step as they started to sweep their weapons while the duo slowly approached.
(UNSC Port Stanley)
Osman and Black Box watched the ONI team as Osman tented her fingers. Black Box provided commentary as the operation continued.
"Interesting. Estimations showed a less than 30% projection of SierraC-057 and Sierra-010." Osman heard from Black Box. "Sierra-010 has shown a rather stoic nature and documents do not support a history with a Spartan-III. Nor C-057 with an II in any capacity." Black Box added as the Spartans spread out.
Osman noticed small changes the egotistical AI did not. Sabert moved more aggressively, sharply twisting in place and checking for enemies with an almost machine-like grace. Naomi was more careful and interested in the area, casting a few glances at Sabert as she swept her magnum in place.
They were 2 sides of the same coin. Both were disciplined and focused commandos who went through the enemy like a scythe into wheat. ONI was good at making killing machines in her book.
"There are not as many hostiles there as the wave that engaged us," Sabert stated to which Naomi nodded. "They retreated inside the structure? Security for the objective?" Sabert asked to which Naomi nodded.
"Seems that way," Naomi responded as Sabert nodded. "Ma'am? Enemies seem to have retreated. Permission to engage and secure the objective?" Naomi asked while she and Sabert slowly advanced.
"Do it. We need these supplies." Osman ordered as the Spartans nodded to the other. "Second team? Secure and exfil at the LZ. Kilo 7 and 8? 20 minutes before extraction. We're on a timetable." Osman stated before she sighed to himself.
She cut the communications network a moment later. There were many factors in these sorts of missions. She wasn't demented enough to think there wasn't going to be any sort of questions on these decisions. Naomi and Sabert might not ask any since they were soldiers who were used to being on a need-to-know basis. The others would be considering ODSTs weren't as disciplined as the others.
Both soldiers were well aware there was darkness within the military. Osman knew both were well aware of the fact that they were weapons inside it.
"They will win. The covenant here is too stubborn to admit they failed at all. Their stay even when we drop the payload." Black Box stated as Osman sighed and nodded. "I am going to guess you didn't tell them these guns are going to an elite who wants a war with our 'friend'?" Black Box asked while Osman nodded.
The AI said nothing in response to this. He was not programmed to care about small amounts of emotion such as this.
Osman watched as the two Spartans started their attack on the enemy position. She was also well-read on how powerful a single one was.
Now it was time to see how two different breeds operated on the battlefield.
(With Naomi and Sabert)
Sabert was the first one inside as he swept his rifle around the interior and spun to look over his shoulder.
"We need to head upstairs," Sabert said as Naomi, and he slowly started to climb the stairs. "There's high security here. This isn't a simple supply base." Sabert added to which his partner nodded.
Naomi was aware ONI often hid things. She was no stranger to off-the-books ops and she suspected that Sabert wasn't either considering his line of work. Still? Spartans HATED when they were low on intel as it constantly left them to improvise at the moment.
"This sound like a Covenant base to you?" Sabert asked while he stared at the top of the stairs. "There's too much security at the moment," Sabert stated while he shook his head.
He wondered what Osman wanted her that was worth slathering Covenant soldiers. He was also aware this war was done and dusted at the moment. They had won and the Spartans had put their back into the ring.
"No. It doesn't," Naomi responded as she looked at the rest of the stairs. "There's also a lot of elites. I thought they allied with us." Sabert said as the Spartan-III nodded towards her a second later.
They slowly started to march up the stairs while sweeping their weapons around at the moment. There was enemy chatter which their armors picked up.
"Reinforce the depot. They will strike again. The demons are advancing further into the base." They heard as both Spartans shared a look. "They're hitting the rest of the base. Their allies were hitting the rest of the base. They're after the cargo." The soldier also said as they nodded towards the other.
Naomi frowned to herself as Sabert reported it.
"Team 2? Their reinforcements heading in that direction. I wouldn't stick around." Sabert stated before he sighed. "I and Naomi are eliminating the last hostile troops in this location. Permission to request a pickup for objective?" Sabert asked while he waited for the response.
In the meantime? He and Naomi stormed the room as they sprinted up the stairs and slammed into the door. It shattered into pieces as the Spartans rolled into the room. A half dozen elites roared and attacked them as their grunt servants seemed to panic at the appearance of Spartans in full armor.
Sabert went for the commander who drew their sword and tried to stab the soldier who dodged it before kicking it backward. He watched as another elite started to draw their sidearm only for Naomi to slam into it. The alien warrior roared as his shields faded and a single bullet ripped into its head and sent it collapsing into the ground.
"Spartans? Eliminate the enemy and secure the VIP. Tart Cart? I want a pickup in 10 minutes." Osman ordered as the pair of soldiers continued to battle their enemy.
Sabert drew his knife before flicking it into the head of an elite who had drawn a plasma rifle on Naomi. The elite with the sword stabbed at him before lifting him into the air with their other hand.
Sabert felt his body leave the ground as he was smashed into the wall behind him. His shields dropped by a quarter as the elite he had just killed had slumped and fell forward. The elite went to stab him only for Sabert to block the hilt with the palm of his hand before pressing his feet to the wall behind him and propelling himself from it and into the elite which threw them to the ground.
He flipped to his feet as Naomi slammed into the elite next to him. There were plenty of elites and they were well trained… But they were dangerous all the same.
Sabert dodged a stab from another elite as one went to draw their rifle from their belt.
'So many elites and all of them want to kill. Almost reminds me of the war. Whatever they're guarding here? They're after something major. I hope the other damn team has what they need.' Sabert thought as he continued to fight the elites with practiced ease to which only a Spartan commanded.
Naomi slammed a crimson elite into the wall and vanished into the next room with a pair of elites. Sabert rolled his eyes as he dodged another slice of an energy sword and stared at the other 2 elites who challenged him.
"Come, demon. I will grant you a warrior's death." The elite stated to which Sabert rolled his eyes.
"Nice. I'll make sure to bury you when I kill you." Sabert joked as he waited for one of them to slash at him.
One of them seemed to be more reckless as they attacked him with a stab. Sabert sidestepped it before grabbing their wrist and driving his blade into their throat. He watched the elite fall as its partner opened fire.
Plasma seemed to fly towards him and through the body of his friend. Sabert dismissed the idea they were as honorable as they were before. He questioned how well Naomi was doing as he prepared to eliminate the final elite before he aided Naomi.
(With Naomi)
Naomi was able to snap the throat of the last minor elite in the confusion. The commander and his partner roared at her as the II faced them both. She held her sidearm in her right and her knife in her left. The other elite was easily dispatched with a kick before she planted her knife into its throat which left her with the commander.
"Team 2 to Port Stanley. Package retrieved," She heard as she frowned to herself. "Returning to the ship. How're the walking terminators?" She heard which made her roll her eyes.
She heard the sounds of gunfire behind her as she started to battle the remaining soldiers. There was no time to waste on these two and she knew Sabert was waiting on her after he finished his enemy.
She knew the commander was probably better trained and smarter than his partner. His patience with his sword work showed as he slowly stepped towards her. There was plenty of time for her to kill a single elite at the moment. She wanted to be done with this.
"There's a zealot here and some of his thugs," Naomi asked while she frowned to herself. "We're already killed at least half of them," Naomi stated before she dodged one of the soldier's strikes.
He dared her to strike which didn't deter her from striking as she looked for an angle to attack him. He seemed less disciplined than the other who had tried to bait her into attacking as he logged at her while drawing his other weapon at the same time.
The alien warrior almost slammed into her with the force of a car. She flipped backward while her sensors picked up movement behind her.
She didn't notice for a moment that Sabert forced the remaining elite to the wall and drove a knife into his skull before kicking off the soldier. He slammed into the Zealot as he almost impacted Naomi with the force of a small meteor.
She slammed into the soldier as well before she forced him and the elite into the wall, draining both of their shields while they started to brawl.
The elite swiped at both of them as it tried to dispose of the two Spartans who dodged its few attacks before they slammed into it once more. Sabert landed a kick which threw the soldier off guard as it lunged at him only for him to grab its hand. He tugged it forward as both Spartans stabbed their knives into it before they kicked the soldier to the ground.
"You, ok?" Sabert questioned while he raised an eyebrow and reached for his knife. "His partner was dangerous. He almost drained half my shields before I decided to finish him off." Sabert stated while he frowned to himself.
He was sloppy and that was annoying more than anything. If he had been sloppier? He'd be dead and his team would have suffered for it. He almost wondered what Chief Mendez would have said if he was here.
Both Spartans were also done with this plan and ready to get on with more work. They were soldiers and at the moment? Their work in this mission was done and dusted.
'This mission is going to be an interesting one to speak about when it's done and over with. Why the hell are there so many soldiers here that are guarding simple cargo.' Sabert stated to himself while he frowned as he waited for more work.
He looked at Naomi who placed her pistol on her hip while he slowly eased up. He placed his weapon on his back and started to look for the enemy cargo they had been sent to secure. It was rather insane to him that the enemy would be this heavily armed after the war.
Then again? Sabert was aware of the fact that the Covenant had the honor and a desire to protect what little they had left. The war had been lost. Sabert knew there were many soldiers within their army and the enemies that still wanted war.
"Command? We've terminated the enemy contacts at this position. How copy?" Sabert asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Evac is coming in 2 minutes." Sabert heard as he frowned to himself. "Secure the landing zone and make sure all hostiles are wiped to by the time it arrives," Osman added to which the soldiers simply nodded and went to perform their task.
They were ready to see another mission at the moment and end this one. The two Spartans moved with the prepose of soldiers that had carried this to for many years. It helped that both were bred for this type of thing.
(UNSC Port Stanley)
Osman watched as Tart Cart slowly touched down in the middle of the Covenant courtyard. All that she had planned had come together at the end of the day and it was done.
'Time to put this one in the book.' Osman thought as she watched Sabert and Naomi carry a large box from the tower and towards the pelican. The rest of Kilo-Five waited aboard as the craft slowly started to carry the cargo she had ordered onto the dropship.
It was something that bothered her at the moment. They had planned to bring these weapons to Telcom. A fact that she hadn't informed the rest of her team at the moment and entirely because it didn't fully concern them.
Still? He hadn't shown here or near the system as he was expected to for their weapons transfer. They needed this cargo before long or there would be nothing gained from this.
Osman frowned as she waited for something to happen as her soldiers secured what they needed, and the craft took off. She had the SHIVA primed for when they were a safe distance. There was to be nothing left. No ashes, nothing, and yet dust in the wind. It helped a lot that there were plenty of issues when it comes down to it.
The more time they spent on this? The shorter a time they had to handle their missions and do this when it came down to it. Their talents had wasted her, and it was shown clear as day that any work to be completed was done with. She closed down her terminal and started to prepare for Tart Cart to show up and handle their work. it was a rather exciting prospect for their work.
