Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Broken Shadows. Enjoy the 5100-word chapter. I don't own Halo; Microsoft and a few others do.
He sighed to himself, curious as to how this would have been before now. This idea had been something weird when it seemed to question what had been going next. It had been something odd for now.
He looked at Naomi who seemed to be entirely caught off guard by this. He couldn't blame her, even if it was far more amusing than he considered it. there was more to this story than he considered. Someone was keeping him in the dark about something they didn't wish him to know. It'd be a long little thing for now and none of them could stop this, not close to how it had been before now. Whatever this as of this the moment? It'd be a lot worse before now if it came down to it.
It had been more than what he had done before now. It was an honest little thing to handle for now. Whatever came next would be far worse than what had been placed in their way. The idea simply had more promise than it had before if nothing at all stood in its way. Anyone one a small idea of what had been going on.
That just made him more curious as to what the hell was happening. It'd be a lot more curious if not for the fact that they hadn't given him any reason not to seek out the answers to this. He wished to know whether or not it was smart or not he deserved at least somewhat of a real answer as to why this had been this way.
He brushed at his nose before he cracked his fingers, and he hummed to himself for the time being. Naomi questioned what the Spartans hadn't done before it came down to it.
He sighed to himself before he rubbed at his temples before he clicked his fingers against the wall. He'd be a lot more to do next when it came to it. He had a lot more as of the time when it came down to it.
He'd be a lot more focused on what to do. He had to be ready for anything even if he was curious as to what the hell their twisted games would be. ONI could not be called generously. They hadn't yet told him what the hell their twisted game had been. He had dreaded it even if he wanted it to be this way.
Sabert questioned if he was going to be happy for the time being. ONI would have more 'clean up' work which just meant that they'd be coming down to a lot more dangerous work. He seemed to think that whatever the first assignment had been? He had been on a test, one designed to see what to do next.
'Whatever ONI wants? They get. They always wait in the shadows while people like me and her do their dirty work. Nobody is going to give me the answers that would be done and dusted for now. It'd be a lot worse if he didn't properly.
No. They'd just want a better super-soldier. They always seemed to want a better super-soldier. Anything else was worthless, it didn't give them the results he had asked about at the end of the day.
Sabert could only sigh. Anytime they played games? They played games with people's lives for the time being. it couldn't be stated that the problems that had been coming were something else. He had to be better.
He was going to be a lot more dangerous than he wanted at the time. it had been something small. Something little for the time being that had yet to come to fruition. They were Spartans. They had to be above such little bursts of emotion as of the time being
"Are you going to be, ok?" Sabert stated before he cracked his fingers. "Hey, you good?" He heard as he waved his hands back and forth.
There was a small nod as he hummed to himself. This had been something interesting and yet they didn't want to move onwards.
"I'll be fine," Sabert stated before he cracked his fingers towards her. "Just keep heads on swivels. The last thing we need is the captain throwing us into Atmosphere or something for not following proper orders." Sabert stated before he hummed.
Whatever little amount of control he had over himself? it had been something odd for now. He internally groaned as he knew something was going to go wrong on their next mission. They were soldiers after all that had been a lot more to see and do before now.
Whatever little control she had been able to muster was enough to keep them from finding out her plans… But he knew that she had buried something she didn't want them to learn. Wasn't exactly hard to understand that something had been off. He knew enough about ONI to know they never did anything fair and cleanly. Hell? He barely thinks they did anything that wasn't kept in the dark.
Still? Whatever he had been capable of now when it came down to it. He had been oh so interested in what to say and do next. This had been something odd for him at the end of the day and he hadn't the need to back down for now. He had been oh interested as of the time being when he questioned for now. It had been something terrible for him.
Sabert left the duo behind him as he questioned what to do next for now. This had been something fun now that had been a lot more curious for now.
He knew more than it had been something odd for the time was done and dusted before now. This had been something odd to question for now. This had been something odd for now… And he'd deal with it now for the time being when all of this was said and done. He had been oh so cool when now had been decided for now.
Sabert decided what to question for the time being. This would be something fun for now. This had been fun for him and the others. He had been a lot more as of the time before he seemed to question.
This had been something that made him question himself as the ship's alarm seemed to sound before he turned and looked over his shoulder. All of the group was sent towards the bridge which made him curious as of now. It had been a lot more interesting thing for now.
It had been a lot more to happen next before she seemed before as of the now. He was a lot more to happen for the next as of the time being.
He had been a lot more interested as of now. She had been when it came down to it. There was more to this than now. He had been a lot more to question before now.
Still? The III walked towards the bridge as did the others. He questioned as of now. He had been a lot as of now. He was honestly odd at the moment when this came down to it. Still? he had a lot more time.
Oddly it wouldn't end anytime for now. It was just something that would be for now. it'd be something that could be done for now.
He had been oh so happy to do his job when it questions before now. if there was more wetwork on the job? He'd handle it before she seemed to handle it. The Spartan was a lot more curious about the mission hand at now.
There were several groups of footsteps as they slowly started to move towards the bridge of the ship. They were greeted by BB as the team slowly headed up towards the bridge for now. what was coming as of now? The idea had been planted in my mind before now.
Whatever the time had been on his mind had made him curious.
"The captain wishes to speak to you all as of a mission." The AI stated to which he nodded to himself. "I would also prepare for an extended deployment; the mission promises to be rather an intense undercover. You will all need to be deployed as soon as you are considered available." BB added to which the Spartans shared a look.
Sabert felt as if he had been thrown off before now. This had been a mission when he questioned as of now. The idea was going to be as of now. Sure, he had been a lot more to handle this as of the time being. The idea had been a lot more to come down to it.
"This would be a lot more of an odd deployment. I do wish to question for now." Sabert heard as he tilted his head. This move was over for now.
Sabert knew this was partly an odd move to this. This had been a crazy move when it seemed to be done and dusted. Sabert was a lot more ready to be deployed for now. The shadows pawed at his mind like hounds eager for blood. In many ways, he felt as if he were a hound preying on the weak. It seemed what ONI had wanted for him.
Still? if he had a mission to do? He'd do it for now. There was no other way to handle this. Whatever else came next for now. It was a lot more for now when this came down to it. The idea had long since expired in his mind. It had taken its hold it's been something for the time being.
Whatever before he questioned the time to be done and dusted before now. It had been something that had been decided long ago and would be for a longer idea.
"What are you waiting for? The captain said we're needed on the frontlines of combat." Sabert said to which there was a hum before he vanished into his room and looked around.
It was something that couldn't easily be dealt with for now. It would be something.
(Bridge)
"You think having 2 different breeds of Spartans aboard this ship is the best idea, ma'am?" Osman questioned as she gained a nod.
"Whatever their differences? Both Anderson and Halsey made some of the best soldiers in the galaxy." Osman heard as Parangosky held up her hand. "Whatever hell awaits us for signing off on it? Those Spartans are some of the most elite and dangerous soldiers the UNSC can throw at the problems. Both of them sighed off on this because they believed in whatever comes next. There be loyal, Serin…. Even if they don't like the UNSC? Both of them hate the enemy more." Parangosky stated to which she sighed to herself.
"And Spartans aren't blindly loyal. Both of them follow orders, but they're curious. Both of them want to know what these Black-Op missions are for." Osman stated as she hummed, curious as to the next move.
"They want to help the UNSC, the only difference is you telling them, they're playing ball as long as they know the game they're going to be playing, it's just a matter of time." Osman heard before she frowned. "Send them on the next mission. We need to use the momentum from the last mission and hit them while they're still reeling." She heard as she frowned but nodded and saluted, aware of what was coming.
She was greeted with a pair of footsteps as she turned to address the others.
(With Naomi and Sabert)
Neither Spartan knew much about the other. They knew both treated their armor the same way, a tool, a weapon that shattered the enemy and cloaked them in an aura that could not be beaten otherwise. What they didn't know was just how this was to be done.
Both heard whirling and other such noises as their armors surrounded them, boated up with the noises familiar to any Spartan who had been on the frontlines before.
He turned to look at Naomi as he marched out of his room, his armor contrasting hers in almost every single way.
"They hand out Spartan armor to everyone?" Naomi questioned to which he chuckled.
"No, just the ones who can get the damn job done properly," Sabert stated before he looked down the hallway. "Still wondering what you're doing here, you're just as skilled at killing the enemy… And if you weren't? You wouldn't have been on this team." Sabert stated before he sighed, prepared only for what may come.
Part of him knew that the enemy expected them, and wanted them to be coming. Part of him knew ONI wanted him, an assassin who could carry out black ops work and was one of the supersoldiers the project had spat out. Sabert knew enough to know that they wanted him.
There was a lot more he didn't trust about ONI and the idea of them wanting a super soldier like him on their side. Well, that was a weapon they didn't want nor need. It was a nightmare in his mind.
If anything? He was focused entirely on fighting and the idea of proving himself, unsure of whatever mischief he could have gotten himself into when this was all said and done. He was tired, a lot more focused on whatever came next would be a nightmare of his making. He tilted his head, unsure of whatever it would be something odd, a lot more ridiculous when it seemed to come down to it. There was a lot more that hadn't
If anything? He had a lot more problems to focus on when all of this nightmare was just beginning. If anything? They had more to worry about than just the Covenant, there was a lot more to handle. Is he prepared for anything? It would just be how insane the move would have been. Whatever they did do next? He had a lot more to question and do if anything. They had a lot more problems with this if anything when all of this was probably done.
He tilted his head to the side, not sure of what would come next.
Sabert knew more than she would probably come when it was all done and dusted. They just had a lot more to focus on when it was all said and done. It made him sigh, unsure if they didn't know what was going on this.
He rubbed at his head, unsure of the moves when this came down to it. He didn't know what this problem was going to be for one, he didn't know the specifics, all he knew was that ONI wanted boots on the ground. It was always that meant he'd need to be purely on his best game.
Sabert snorted at this. They always wanted soldiers handling missions without anyone questioning orders and he knew better than to expect them to just wait for such a measure when all of it was over with. If nothing else? He snorted at how silly it was when push came to shove.
He was tired, he was a bit exhausted, but he'd survive. He always did which was probably why they picked him to handle these missions if nothing else. The man wasn't stupid as well when it came to ONI and their work and just how much they cared to keep their secrets hidden as deep down as possible. He wasn't going to back down if anything else.
"All crew is to report to the bridge at once for mission briefing," Sabert stated before he frowned under his armor, unsure of what they wanted. "By order of Captain Osman, this is an order," Sabert stated before he questioned while he tilted his head before he sighed.
He increased his stride, making sure he kept up with Naomi. He was all too certain they wanted to focus on something he couldn't understand. There was a lot more to this puzzle than he could properly focus upon when push came to shove.
(With Osman)
She continued to look over the two profiles. She still didn't know what to think of the Spartans who had been loaned to her because of ONI. There was a lot more before now. He had a lot more to focus on as of now.
There was a lot more to focus on if she had the time, but she didn't. she knew more than they what would happen if either managed to get loose. There was a lot more to properly focus on if nothing else. It wasn't like they had anything else worth a damn for now.
Yet? It was what they wanted and what would be gotten if push came to shove. There was only so much she could do to keep them in line. If they wanted? They could rip the ship apart at the seams which were something that couldn't be properly dealt with.
If anything? He had a lot more to focus on, a lot more that hadn't yet run its course. If anything? There was a lot more to do before now. He had so much more to focus on. There was a lot more to handle, a lot more to focus upon before.
She hadn't the idea before now what to question. She had too much on her mind. There was too much focus upon before now, there was now. They had to focus and get their head in the game. She hadn't the same move before there was now. She had yet to find out.
There was too much to tell for now. There were a lot more missions to focus upon. If anything before now? She hadn't a faint clue at their move. There was too much to focus upon for now. There was too much on the mind.
They had another mission. Another assignment was something that affected the entire galaxy. Osman would have laughed if it came down to it, laughed if not for the fact that there was more.
This was all spiraling away from his mind. There was too much to question before now. She hadn't the faintest idea what would be going on now.
Their missions were backstabbing, and putting knives in people that needed them. There would be blood slipping all across the galaxy before this was over.
Still? He worried, not just for them, but every single soldier in the way of their path was something else. Also? A pair of new Spartans onto the group? Still? there was more to this plan than what had been put in their path. He hadn't had the proper day before he sighed as of now.
There was a lot more to question before now. He hadn't before now, he hadn't the focus upon now. if anything? Osman was a lot more focused before now. she knew what to handle before now, she had something before as of now.
Naomi watched as of now. She watched around the room, there was more to question before now. She hadn't the proper idea. She sighed before rubbing at her temples and looking at Sabert, there were so many things on the line.
Yes, the Spartan-III crossed his arms, and he looked around. He hadn't had the proper training before now. There was a lot more to question before now.
Still? if anything? Sabert stayed silent, there was a lot more to say and he still questioned what the game was. The Headhunter had yet to question before now what was coming next before now.
The Spartan-III was silent, focusing on what to handle next, but there were only a few seconds before this was over. Yet. He hadn't yet focused upon it now.
There was more to question for now. She hadn't yet seemed to focus upon it for now.
"What is the problem?" Sabert questioned before he rubbed at his temples before he sighed as of now.
She hadn't the proper idea for now. There was something else for now. It seemed to have gotten when it had been less a problem and more of a cascade of horrible consequences none of them wanted… No. All that came their way sooner or later.
There was more to do now anyway. Their missions couldn't wait and neither could anyone else… No. this had to be now, they had to strike soon, and there could be no recourse for error.
She turned back to the others to see how they'd react. Naomi seemed amused, Sabert glancing around, observing everything he could see around him. he knew something else was going on for now before something else went pear-shaped, there was limited time, and they had limited windows of attack.
Perfect for Spartans. Perfect for them to hunt the enemy for the rest of their mission. There was a lot more to do anyway and all of it had to go exactly according to plan. Not a single misstep.
Naomi seemed to be bored, he tilted his head and looked down at the grown, but there was so much upon his mind.
Naomi still tilted her head at Sabert, looking up at the ceiling. He questioned what else would be on his mind. There was something else for now. He looked at the II, raising an eyebrow before he hummed as if he was something else, he didn't know if he questioned before he yawned.
Osman looked over before the other soldiers before she cleared her throat, there was more upon her mind. She didn't know what else was upon her mind, he didn't know what else could be done and what else was upon her mind.
Sabert knew it was probably a damn tough mission, one which would cascade into more. ONI was a lot of things, but they were soldiers to question before now.
Well, if anything? He didn't know what else would happen before now. He sighed he questioned before now, there was something else, he questioned what else may come and go. He hummed, focusing more for now. He wasn't prepared for over while he sighed to himself. There was more to this mission, there was always more, that was how it went, was always how things went. He didn't at all understand what to question before now. There was always more to their little missions, that was always how ONI decided to do things, doing as much damage and chaos as possible and something else questioned before now.
He seemed as if there was a lot more than now. He glanced at Osman, expertly, there was more to her little plan than she let on. He didn't know what else there was only so much he could have done to stop this.
Yet? He didn't want it to end, he didn't want him to question the time.
There were more odd jobs and he knew he couldn't exactly feel yet. He questioned what else before he hummed to himself before now. He didn't know what else may or may not happen… He hummed, unsure before now. There was a lot more to focus on for now.
There were always nightmares upon the battlefield, something worse than Spartans and he'd damn well be focused before now. Osman spoke a few seconds later, her voice sounding ragged, out of breath, as if she had tried to speak through a straw minutes ago.
The group all shared looks at one another. There were a few more words upon which to have gotten to such a place. It was far odder than he had wished or could have wished. Their problems weren't over. Not yet at least when it came down to it. He had a lot more with which he had to deal. A lot more that he didn't have to deal with now, but could have done so down the road when all of this was said and done. Their problems weren't yet over.
This bothered him, but he didn't feel himself caring as he had yet gotten over it. He hadn't yet found it for now. He hadn't yet seemed to have found it to be. There were a lot worse things that could have been upon his mind. He didn't know what had been done and what would be done. All he knew was that something would happen sooner or later. It just had to click into place. It had to get where it could end in a good way.
Yep, problems would arise, he didn't know them. Ah, did this hurt… It always hurt, that was probably why this had yet to get worse.
"And what is it we need to be stolen so badly that we need two damn Spartans to handle it?" Sabert questioned with a raised eyebrow as to how this could have gone.
He didn't know what the hell was going on, he didn't know what would have come… Yes, he could have lived with such a thing, it was only with the fact that this problem couldn't have been folded apart that easily.
"The thing that could end with all of us dead, soldier," Osman said as Sabert shrugged, too interested in how this would have played out.
"If it needs 2 Spartans? Why are we still discussing it, ma'am? Can't we discuss it on the pelican when we're already en route? Let us get mentally prepared properly." Sabert asked while he raised his eyebrow.
This wasn't exactly wrong for him. He knew more than them what would have happened. They had so much more he could play around with. So much more he couldn't have dealt with easily. He assumed more and more that it was all going sideways. Such a thing cut her to the core as she knew more than whatever else had been on her mind. Well, that made her hate the idea more and more than she had before. It all seemed to have gotten worse on the mind for now, so much worse.
They had much more to have to question where he should have come down to it. He seemed to have to question what it should have been for the time being. They had more pressing work to have to focus on when it was all said and done sadly.
Naomi and Sabert stated before he seemed to have questions at it all over their minds. They had something else as he moved forward while both Spartans shared looks. The two Spartans were all ready for such a move and they had more on their minds. Sabert crossed his arms across his chest while he looked up at the hull.
"If we're going to have been on a message? Then why aren't we going to be on the mission already?" Naomi heard from Sabert as he questioned what to do next.
They had a lot more missions to accomplish and all that standing here did was allow their missions to slip away from them. If they wanted to talk details, why weren't they on a Pelican or HEV down in transit while someone fed them their mission? Sabert knew they wanted to understand the two Spartans on their team which meant that they had to keep them close by at all times. All that told him was that he had to keep as good an eye on them as they did him and ensure nothing went out of favor when it's all said and done.
"Because there are details, we need to discuss, Spartan. We already know the few cells we're after knowing about Spartan involvement since the last mission." Osman stated before Sabert raised an eyebrow. "There's always a rat within the rubble that manages to tell someone. We are as efficient at cleaning and mopping up messes like that as possible." Osman added to which the Spartans shared another look.
Osman knew they'd possibly be a problem if they got any ideas about this mission than they usually did at the time being for now.
Sabert and Naomi stepped closer. It was clear as damn day what had been wrought, what had been brought up and laid upon their laps. It was something they could not simply ignore not this and not to the degree she expected. No, they had so much more riding on all of this, so much damn more that could have been wrought when it all came down to it.
Both Spartans were no strangers to being in dark places like this, they were used to being servants to powers higher than themselves.
"We're going to have boots on the ground in 2 hours… Either we secure the objective or we bomb it to ash and call it a day, am I clear?" Osman asked to which there were nods. "Good. Then we're going to set out in 1 hour and I'll brief the teams on their goals in 30 minutes. You will find your weapons aboard Tart Cart. Anything you need besides that will be sent to you when I decide you need it and if you decide you might need something else." Osman added for a second later as all had fallen quiet and made things worse.
It was clear a lot more problems were only going to cause worse issues. They needed to be out and able to stop them or affect them in any way shape or form. It was clear to many of them weren't going to be able to do what they needed to be a problem.
They needed to act, they needed to act when push came to shove when it came down to it. He wasn't going to be able to stop it sooner or later.
They needed to be stopped before someone else would be a problem as to what to do next before it came down to it to how to do more and more.
It yet it seemed to be worse and worse. There was a lot more to have to question now, this wasn't going to be easy for now.
