Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Broken Shadows. Enjoy the 4700-word chapter. I do not own Halo; Microsoft and a few others do.
All 8 members of Kilo-5 crowded around the holoprojector before looking at each other in massive amusement for now and for good, he had to relax or he would die now at the end of the day, he had to cut it all to pieces or else he would die for the time sadly. It did hurt though for him at the time.
"What is the next best move? I say we try and attack the base here on this landing, we are going to be able to flank them if we pull it properly." Sabert heard before he frowned to himself.
"There's going to need to be a distraction for now." Saber started before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
There was all too much, a lot more that needed to be done, and a lot more on the line if they failed. It was to be a very long operation and one which would probably be inflicted upon every single one and each one. Perhaps it would be worse with time, but there was not a peaceful time for thinking now. if they were to get through this? They would need to be on the frontlines now and end it all before something else was going to be a problematic little thing and yet? Well, oddly? There were at least several… All of which would possibly have made things worse or better depending on such promises.
It would do nothing with what they had and all the time in the world. They would need to strike while the iron was hot and such a thing would not have bothered them if it had been utterly odd and thrown off.
Sabert was silent as he looked around and then back at the head, it seemed to be more and more amusing for now. All of it simply made him click his tongue against the roof of his mouth, the Spartan-III was eager to get onto the battlefield and deal with the enemy personally.
Nothing ONI did help and it was clear more and more problems would come now. Oh, did it hurt him, for now, to be on the same ship as the rest of a group he did not like? Sabert knew that his enemy would not wait and his species would continue to fight now.
"We need to get going or else we're going to get killed for now," Sabert stated before clicking his tongue and frowning to himself.
All of it served only to make Sabert eager to get off the ship and onto the ground. These problems would not yet fall apart so easily. Naomi looked at him, only pausing to look upwards and into the ceiling before looking down on her Spartan cousin. It would not fade anytime soon nor did she want it to.
Sabert was odd and she had not entirely met many of her spartan brothers and sisters within certain ranks… All of it only served to make it odder and odder for now, still? She had a goal to carry out and this was just bugging them from getting said goal done for now.
He crossed his arms and glanced towards her, eager or bored to try and get it over with for now. They had a lot more to try and fix. A lot more to get off their chests and so much to try and fix that it became fun at the end of the day to see what was going on at the end of the road.
It was clear they had a LOT more to figure out for now. A LOT more now than it was possible to. They marched for war confident that their enemy would be ground down to nothing more and more, this seemed utterly baffling before now.
He seemed to be utterly tiresome at the end of the day, there was a lot more to try and figure out before now.
It would not end and he would not have allowed it to die out sometime soon, he would not have allowed it to die out so soon, he would not have allowed it to die anytime soon.
Naomi and Sabert both shared a look as the two glanced at one another, utterly silent but understanding more of what to try and do next. It was a lot more horrid and ensured more and more of what may or may not yet come to pass.
Still? The idea of it all was just more and more horrid to them, knowing the others would not get to thrive anytime soon.
"We both know we are going to war and how this will end… Nothing else is going to happen, not at all." Sabert stated before he shook his head and looked down at the ground.
"Ok, we got to get going before more enemies get in the way." Naomi heard before Sabert said nothing and simply looked at the wall.
"You mean they get dug in? Agreed, we should eliminate the enemy quickly and with little delay. The longer we leave them there? The more time they will have to dig in their defenses and allow them to prepare for our arrival." Black Box stated before he hummed.
He was all too much amused at the end of it all. These sorts of problems at the end of the day existed more and more would utterly lie in this way. The two Spartans would be prepared for their mission regardless of what lay in their path and whatever would be thrown at them.
"Fine… Both you and Naomi will clear our enemy scouts and allow us to open a landing zone for the rest." Osman stated before he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth as he utterly seemed to be more and more curious as of now.
This was a lot odd at the end of the day before he looked down at the ground.
"All right, we are clearing a landing zone, ma'am. The longer we stay here? The more I need to try and clear my head." Sabert stated as he slowly moved to leave the bridge.
He knew more and that whatever else was here would continue to be a problem… There was a lot more to fathom, to understand about it all at the end of the day.
They had far too much to try and understand about it all, and all of it became harder and harder as both slowly started to leave the room, utterly tiresome for anyone besides the end of the day.
It was a lot harder over and over at the end of all such beings. It was a harder little thing to deal with and he knew it over and over. Such problems would be considered but not now.
"Are we going to be, ok?" Naomi asked before she looked at Sabert who fell silent.
"Just a bit tired," Sabert said before he looked at Osman. "We will handle it, but I would stay back, ma'am. The more people? The more they will be going to worry and clam up. There will be a lot worse things than soldiers if they think we are onto them. The last thing we need is an army." Sabert said as he looked over at the soldier before he cracked his fingers.
The two Spartans nodded at one another before he seemed to try and focus upon such moments before he clicked his tongue as he sighed to himself.
There was a lot more to try and figure out as he seemed to be bored now and clicked his tongue as he seemed to be tired at the end of the day.
He clicked his tongue now, utterly tired, utterly worn down for a second as he rubbed at his eyes before he yawned, utterly bored as he seemed to try and think of his options now.
"We should try and think of a plan before we're dropped downwards," Sabert stated before he clicked his fingers against one another. "Ok, what's the terrain and mission?" Sabert asked as he hummed.
"We have to extract a VIP and destroy critical data belonging to Covenant remnants which means we have to try and deal with their forces," Naomi stated before she and Sabert hummed.
"Then that means… Here, there is a tunnel for cargo. Heavily guarded by elites but it is straight in… Once they are down? we have a straight path to this landing pad where Tart Kart can set down. If we get through that? Straight shot in. Problem? They are probably trying and evac both." Sabert said as Naomi hummed.
"Meaning disabling their landing area and any such craft they can use to escape. I will deal with that." Osman said as Sabert hummed.
"We are going to need to take BOTH objectives around the same time, ma'am. We do not? High chance they will lock down at least once and we won't be able to secure one… Unless you are fine with that? We are going to make it tightly around the same time." Sabert stated before he cracked his fingers and looked down at the ground.
He was a lot more to try and understand, something as of now. He had a lot more to try and figure out before now at the end of the day to figure it out as he cracked a smile as well. He could predict just what was coming and going and how well to try and figure it all out.
They had a lot more to do and see at the end of the day and such problems could easily be washed out. The problem? They had so much to shift through it was almost impossible to tell what was over and what was started next, they had to end this before someone else died and got hurt, it was just going to be a day filled with war and death, a Spartan's favorite part of the conflict.
A part of conflict they thrived on and were talented at, nothing more, nothing less at the end of it all. Something would break before they did and something far worse than what they were planning.
"How long will it take you both to cut through their defenses and secure a landing zone? We have a strict timetable to keep to and the longer we sit around? The more time they get to leave, we cannot think more and more. There is a lot more to try and figure out." Osman said before she looked down at the ground before now, something that needed to be said.
She looked down at the ground, something more and more horrid now. He did not at all know before now as she looked at them, both more interested and fascinated at the end of the day.
They both shrugged and moved to get ready. It was clear more and more what they needed to accomplish to get it all over with, something he really could not figure out or complain about the results of things.
Osman merely sighed as she seemed to be tired at the end of it all. She knew more and more that the two soldiers worked well together as of now, something that could and would get better.
It was a lot more of an odd operation as of now, it was going to be something big. VERY big, Osman turned to the others and motioned to the doors.
"1 hour, then a drop a shiva on everything and call it a day. We do not have time to mess around and the longer we are here and we can win this. We do not get a second chance. So? No heroics, no boasting, just kill everyone we must and we leave. We can worry about the mess when everything comes to an end." Osman added as she sighed and left a few seconds later.
Did she know more and more that the second they went ahead with the plan, the more they were better off? Second, they would all suffer more and more. Whatever came next was a distraction they could not and should afford to begin with.
All of it seemed to make her more and more confused at the time, something that she could relax upon ending for now.
They had a mission and the means to properly fix it. All of that translated to them properly focusing on the next mission once and whatever needed to be able to focus upon as of it.
"There is a lot more we need to do when we find the cargo. The rest of the cell might arrive sooner or later so I want this done before a single spirit comes down towards them." Naomi heard before she looked at Sabert who had been silent.
He was silent before now as she looked to the side before, he seemed to be able to relax and looked down at the ground. There were a few seconds of silence before she looked down and grabbed her helmet and then looked down once more.
There was all too much on her mind, she seemed to click her fingers before she started to march towards the armory to try and get her gear and prepare for the next mission.
All of it became harder and harder to fathom, he supposed he guessed that this was just part of being on ONI's team but he was mistaken over and over now.
He was shaken now it seemed as if they would be constantly relaxing, and focusing on things like this for an extended time. His amusement was slowly being worn down now, unable to relax over and over.
Sabert hummed and went for his rifle, curious only for what to try and figure out once more as he looked at her before crossing his arms, he knew very well that combat was coming, and yet ONI wanted more silent and off-the-table options.
Hiring a pair of Spartans was not exactly something small-scale and silent. It made people look at them with more suspicion if any
There were a lot of things he did not understand but it was just part of life over and over when it came down to it. He did not understand or even want to when it was all said and done as of now.
It was making him cross his arms but that was it when all of it was said and done before he could properly focus on anything or everything.
All of it seemed to make him odder and odder still and odder all over when it came down to it, they had a lot more to try and deal with when all was said and done… An idea that cut deeper into Sabert's brain than possible.
What she did not know, what he did not know? Was that below their destiny? One which was easier said than done and would always be that way?
Nothing would change it to be something better, broader, and broader in terms of scale and understanding something more.
"You might want to back me up soon, there are going to be a lot more enemies coming after us when we hit the ground. The base might go live sooner or later, probably not going to be happy to see a single spartan there, even if we kill all of them with knives. One of them is going to be bound to saying or something like that." Sabert stated as it was not a lie.
No, not even for a second when it came down to it all. All of them had a lot more upon which to deal with everything, every single little thing, an option upon which could not be said and done easily, every single little piece of evince would continue to haunt their path until further notice.
It was clear more and more to him that whatever he had THOUGHT was coming, was already on its way here. They had little time to prepare for the end of the path with something else. This would be confusing before she relaxed again and again with options.
"I'll take out sentries, going to have to position every 2 shots, least 10 seconds before proper reload means you have cover fire every 30 seconds…" Sabert said before clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth.
"And what happens when you run out of ammo? We do not get more until the next stop in 2 days… We have another mission soon." Naomi said as Sabert hummed.
"I only need 2 magazines. Then I will switch to my other rifle and join you. it is not like a sniper is going to be much help when they start taking cover… if they are smart enough." Sabert stated before he sighed and looked down at the ground, ready to go out onto the battlefield sooner or later.
He knew well what was coming and going and knew better than to guess it would be easy to fix it.
He did not even want to know how willing to try something that could and would bug them for now. He had known his friends, but they made it harder and harder to see for now.
An idea that could only begin to bring more and more for now, something that could not easily be broken, that would not be dealt with easily. They had a lot more to try and figure it all out before he sighed as he hummed to himself before he cracked.
He had a lot more to try and he hummed to himself, an idea that needed to be answered for now. A lot more to try and figure something that needed to be dealt with for now.
"You know this is going to be a lot harder than you think it will be, there are usually problems to it all… Something you cannot at all control, there's a lot of things you usually don't see." Sabert added before he hummed to himself.
"You know… There are a lot of maneuvers that do not get to be used for now. We need to fight through the rest of their army." Naomi heard Sabert state as he looked downwards at the ground.
All of it continued to be a problem, a problem they would need to cut through. Sabert was able to relax for now, something that Spartans rarely seemed to get to do. He looked at Naomi before clicking his tongue.
"We need to get going or else we are going to miss our window… See you on the ground." Sabert said before walking towards the hanger bay.
He knew they had something to deal with and he knew ONI would keep more secrets, not just because he was smart as a Spartan but because he was no fool. If they were involved? It meant something big was coming and that meant another war.
Perhaps they had a measure of mercy to enroll upon, a measure of protection for the UNSC. However? He did not for a SECOND think they were not using the fact they had won to their advantage; it meant a lot that they had won the war.
Perhaps it all seemed to have boiled downwards into a pragmatic position.
If ONI wanted to do something? They damn well would not be telling their plans to him for the time being, something he just could not deal with for now sadly.
He was utterly silent, unsure of what to try and see and do at the end of the day… Something about it all managed to keep ending sometime soon… All of it managed to keep going as he looked downwards at the ground once more, he just could not end it again and again because he knew more and more that this problem would not end at that moment.
Why there was a lot more to see and do? He did not know but he would end it, he would always end it most perfectly and that was a fact.
This always ends the same damn way, with them all collapsing down into the water, covered from head to toe in the soup that just did not at all seem to end properly. He had many problems to consider and anything else?
She did not know, did not want to see for now, and she could only care when the smoke cleared and everything ended, they had a very large amount of mercy and she would see it expire.
Then? They could end it again and again; they would grow beyond such mercy for now which would not at all change for anything or anyone resembling that sort of thing when it came to it all when it was all over.
He hummed to himself before he relaxed more and more as he sighed. There was too much to try and figure as he hummed once against the roof of his mouth.
All of it seemed to be beyond the pale when it came to it. Perhaps it could be better but he knew more and more at the end of the day when it came down to it? There was nothing else to deal with it for now, unsure of what to try and deal with it for now, too much to relax.
Perhaps he had too much to deal with, perhaps he had nothing at all to fight through. The spartan simply sighed and prepared to go fight, knowing what would be brought upon by it all in waves he could have dealt with for now.
He did not at all manage to relax for now, this was not something that he could perhaps deal with for now, a measure of which he could not understand.
Sabert for his power was off-guard. He did not know what would be able to relax and what it meant for now, this was not something that he could relax more and more, knowing that it all managed to relax more amused.
Sabert sighed to himself before looking downwards at the ground before he clicked his fingers upon now, he had a lot more on his mind for now.
The group departed in Tart Cart. He would not be able to try and relax more and more, this was not something that he could deal with for now. This was not something that could be possible to happen easily.
The Spartan closed his eyes, too easily thrown off for now as he looked downwards at the ground before now. He looked to the side, consumed with the idea that he was not going to be getting anywhere anytime soon… Yes, he had a feeling that such mercy was forbidden.
If anything? He was able to do more than relax, unsure of what to figure out for now. It would not be easily dealt with for now… An idea that was utterly maddening for now, there were a lot of chaotic little measures to be dealt with for now.
He had a lot of ideas that he was not going to be on the frontlines of combat, a measure that seemed to be dealt with sooner or such, a madness like this would not be done with them, not an idea that needed to be dealt with sooner or later… It did not mean more for now.
The part of it seemed to be growing more and more with it all too much was consuming him, an idea that would be done for now, an idea that he could relax.
She paused, utterly consumed at the end of the day… It meant something to be considered for now… It would not be dealt with today; it would not be pushed down to the ground and it would not be ended for now at the time being and would be over.
So much was coming to an end and he could not prevent it from coming the way he wished for now at the end of the day. Sabert paused to repair his options as he sighed to relax for now as he cracked his fingers.
Sabert seemed to be in a loop for now and he sighed. He clicked his fingers before yawning now as he cracked a smile and paused.
"We're all going to be warring with the others for now," Sabert stated before he cracked his fingers and then paused before he seemed to look downwards. "Naomi? I am guessing that you are not going to be dealing with the rest of the soldiers at the base?" Sabert stated.
He did not know what was going to be in for a loop, relaxing for now and yet? He wanted to pause, tiring himself for now and he would keep fighting more and more, loading his rifle as he did so.
The pelican slowly seemed to keep relaxing for now at the time being, he wanted to pause and relaxed against the bulkhead.
The Spartans were to be clearing out more and more soldiers and he wanted to keep relaxing as he paused to look downwards at the ground, cracking his fingers before yawning once more and more with options.
He sighed to crack his fingers before he seemed to be utterly done for now and paused before he seemed as he cracked as she seemed to be utterly tired.
There was a lot more to try and deal with something for now as she paused for now.
Naomi was all over his mind. He had no damn idea what was going on, nothing, not even a small little breeze as he paused, confused for now and tired of it in droves and waves.
The soldier within him seemed to relax, too tired, too unwilling to keep growing at the time as she paused.
It made him want to chortle, to laugh knowing that ONI had to recruit two of its best soldiers who had been on the frontlines to win… Yet? Here he and she were, handling the rest of the work that did not need to be done and dusted within a few minutes.
The idea would not stop them, would not even slow them both down. It seemed to help but it soothed his mind again and again with a brief delay.
He had been exhausted to deal with for now she paused to think of it for now as she seemed of it, she paused to think for now as she seemed to think of an idea that she could have handled for now, she would let something like this for now.
She had not a lot more to deal with for now, she had been too interested in the next move for now, they had a lot more to try and deal with for now as she paused to try and deal with it for now… She had not the ability to judge him but Sabert was smart enough to try and deal with for now, she had a lot of missions to deal with for now.
She had a lot more on the idea, a lot more was going to end it for now. The chaos of it all was going to cut him into pieces and even then? She had a lot more to try and deal with for now as she paused to think for now, there was a lot more to try and deal with for now as Naomi seemed to be utterly ready.
The pelican readied itself to be launched, for it to be sent into the wailing darkness…. They had been prepared for now… They had a lot more interested in what was going on, he had been too interested for now…
He was ready.
