Hello lovelies,

Sorry I haven't updated for a while, I lost my inspiration for a while as I went through a bit of a tough time, however I'm back with more inspiration than before! So let's see if we can actually finish this book!

Riley sat in dark room, Kira's snores echoing slightly as Riley stared out the window at the noon that was casting silver glow across the room. They had continued to have a fun evening with laughters and stories, until Kira started to doze off. Then one by one everyone went to go to bed in their designated rooms, leaving Riley to sit with her thoughts. She wondered if it was possible to be so happy and sad at the same time, every time she looked at Ryder, her heart skipped a beat and the butterflies flapped away in her tummy, her cheeks would tinge red slightly. He could always make her smile and laugh even when she felt her most vulnerable, he made her feel safe. But it also brought fear, she knew in a certain way Lucas made her feel like that at times, she trusted him more than anything. Then he went and kissed Maya. Every time Riley saw his face, she couldn't get the image out of her head of how he held Maya. How he told Riley he loved her and then went and kissed her best friend. How can you forgive something like that?

She sighed softly and leaned her head back against the wall, she thought the pain would fade by now, that when someone asks her how she is with the whole situation that she could genuinely smile and say she's great, rather than plastering a smile on and saying she's okay. Her mum said it will take time to heal, fresh starts are a good thing and don't be afraid to walk away. Yet when they tried to walk away and get a fresh start, he ended up turning up here anyway.

"Earth to Riley!" A half shouted whisper came across the room, causing Riley to jump out of her thoughts and search for the source of the sound.

"Ryder! You scared me half to death!" Riley whispered back as Ryder grinned.

"My bad! You want to get some air?" His head tilted to the side slightly as he watched Riley's reaction, he knew something was bothering her. He could tell by the way her finger and thumb was rested against her lip as she gently pulled her lower lip between them. It was a telltale sign that Riley was upset.

"Yeah." Riley responded as she stood up from her seating position and stretched slightly before making her way to where Ryder stood in the doorway, without a second hesitation, the minute Riley was within arms reach of him, he wrapped his arms around him and brought her to his chest. He could feel her relax in his arms as she leaned into him and closing her eyes. He kissed her forehead and let them just stand there for a minute, wanting to allow Riley all the time she needed to feel safe and secure. After a minute or two, he noticed Riley lean on him more and more, looking down he saw her eyes closed and a soft smile on her face, her breathing deep and relaxed. Smiling softly he swiftly leaned down and picked her up, cradling her to his chest as he walked into his room to place her on the bed. Once she was all tucked in, he kissed her forward grabbing himself a pillow and a blanket and began to make his way downstairs to sleep on the sofa. He paused in his doorway and looked back at Riley asleep in his bed. "Goodnight Angel." He whispered with a smile.
