A/N: So regarding the wires. Yugi has been fully healed, however he's in a coma meaning he needs tubes for feeding and bathroom reasons. Also he has monitors to keep the nurses station up to date on his life signs and such.

"I do not know what happened. He stood at the window and watched the healers work on the Pharaoh. But he stood with blood smeared on him as though nothing was amiss." The Village Elder began quietly, standing just behind Bakura's left shoulder. Despite being a spirit, some primal instinct made actively standing in people or things while talking feel wrong to the woman.
"There was panic and worry among the healers, my grasp of the language is lacking, but there was no need to understand words. The General had left his place at the window when the healers placed the blanket over the Pharaoh's head."
She watched as the man stormed off to the doors before throwing them open with a charged aggression. The men in the room were startled, two breaking away to try and speak to him only the General shoved them to the floor. As much control as Set had shown up until now, to see that control shatter further and further with each step instilled a growing fear. "He threw those who tried to speak to him away, they fell to the floor. Yet as he walked his wrists glowed, chains made of light dropped into the ground or not ground really."
A book was reeled up from those chains, magically lifted to be before him as he finally got to the bed and ripped off the blanket. Falling open, seemingly on its own, the General appeared to be reading directly from the magical tome. "I recognized those words, the Book of the Dead, he was reading it to the Pharaoh. Not just reading though, he read in our Mother tongue. The healers, I, we were all at a loss as to what to do when a light... A light I don't think the living saw, radiated out of the room, it was pure and gentle. I've been dead for ages but suddenly even I felt the warmth of that light... then the thing beeped."
Everyone started, their eyes ripped to the television thing that was now starting up again. The mountains that had flattened to the plains began to spike up. The strange sound making thing began to stir and before her very eyes...
"He opened his eyes. As I watched the General brought the Pharaoh back from the grip of Anubis himself! The Pharaoh and he exchanged looks, as the Pharaoh seemed to be trying to acclimate himself to his current situation. Once the healers collected themselves to try and face the General again... the General just suddenly stopped, the moment the Pharaoh was alive again. The book and chains just vanished and more men who must have been called to the room, guided the General to the room where you arrived at..."
"The Village Elder came here and watched what Set was doing. Which appears he has a spellbook chained to him in a manner, and like a good 'Dark Magician's Spell Book'," Bakura let the sentence hang.
"It can heal," Jounouchi finished with a slight grin, "Yeah, but there's a difference between restoring some hit points and bringing back the dead."
"Depends on the type of book, she said he was reading from the Book of the Dead. But without access to Mahaado..." Bakura replied as his view drifted to the window and the view of the city skyline.
"And I suspect that he would have been the one to teach Set 'how' to use magic so he would be the expert," Honda noted quietly. "He has all that power, yet he never uses it..."
"How could he?" Anzu suddenly spoke up from Yugi's side, his hand in hers as she tried with subtle desperation to warm it. "They're adopted, if he had this power all his life, why didn't he save their mother? Or their father? Think of what those two have gone through, and Kaiba 'could have saved them at any time'. This wasn't an 11th hour super power he got because Yugi took a bullet for him. This was a gift he had since he was 'born' and..."
Words died in the room quietly, without objection.
What else could be said in the moment? Anzu was right. A power of such proportions would have been useful in several cases in Kaiba's life. True it would have undoubtedly been exploited by others once they found out, but he would have been with his birth parents. Looking down brought their attention back to Yugi.
Peacefully sleeping on a stiff medical bed, a thin, pale blanket tucked over his body, a hospital frock covering his shoulders and what they could see of his chest. He appeared so peaceful in repose, as though he had not a care in the world. Surrounded by people who got their marching orders from a video he left.
"Wake up, man. You're too smart for us, we need you!" Jounouchi reached over and shook Yugi's hand. Wanting, no 'needing' Yugi to wake up.
"No, he needs us," Honda corrected with a shake of his head. "He needs us to believe in him and look after everything while he's gone."
"We're in high school Honda! What are we supposed to do? Hell, we can't even summon the way he can, and Moneybags is..." Jounouchi threw up his hands in frustration as the weight of everything crashed on them. His words were punctuated by the soft beeping that came from the monitors bound to Yugi. The suction that came from the ventilator dragged on and on reminding them all that Yugi left them with a task.
"How the hell are we supposed to do this?" Malik agreed in his own way, sighing as he looked over at Bakura. "We have the rough idea about America, at least California. But we can't leave Kaiba as he is alone, and we can't leave Yugi. So what now leader?"
As much of a teasing as the term 'leader' was, it was still a thorn that stuck itself into Bakura's side. 'Think of it like a D&D game, if I was the DM...' Bakura sighed and shook his head. "Not here, we've discussed too much already." He finally stated as his mind went into that little, ok large, space that he often reserved in his mind for sessions.
They weren't going out on the adventure, this was a case of having to defend two positions. But the group was woefully undergeared for such an effort. He was about to speak when the door opened and a fumbling and sputtering of surprise caught the attention of the room.
"Who are you people?" A dark haired man stood there, in a long white coat, a clipboard in hand, the typical appearance of a doctor. One growing alarmed and concerned, as Bakura moved forward.
"We're friends of Yugi, we came yesterday," Anzu explained, hoping that her barely calm voice would keep the man from shouting for security. "We didn't think there would be anything wrong with seeing him."
"Young lady..." The doctor began while Bakura gave a placating gesture.
'Kaiba would have been given information where the room is right? As he's pretty much the only one local who could possibly have any responsibility towards Yugi's stay right?' "Kaiba told us, he may not like us, but his brother is ok with us sooo..."
'Oh... oh no... Kaiba wouldn't have been able to really understand the information... So would it have gone to Mokuba?' The notion that the little kid would now have to oversee such matters caused a pang of pity to fill Bakura.
The man looked down at his notes, with a small frown. "I was told that there was an Isht...ar? Isis?"
"Ishtar, Isis, she's my older sister and right now she's waiting at Kaiba mansion for Mokuba to come home from school." Malik spoke up readily, 'oh did he plan this too?' he thought in amazement at Yugi's forward thinking.
"Be that as it may, right now the only people who should be here are family. Unless there in consent from his next of kin. So I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"Of course.. We're just glad to know he's ok... though would it be ok if we talked to you? About his condition I mean?" Bakura asked, recognizing the unwinnable situation they were in. 'We go quietly or we get thrown out and we need the hospital neutral if not on our side.'
The doctor frowned before nodding, "Go to the waiting area in front of the elevator, I'll talk to you then."
"I shall stay here, I may not understand much but I can keep you abreast as well as I can," the Village Elder spoke up as she hung back. Watching the group leave and accepting that there was no way for him to express acknowledgment. Instead she waited patiently, turning her gaze down to the son of the... no the 'nephew' of the man who murdered her and her village. Reconciliation was still something she never thought she would have to do. Realizing that they had targeted the wrong person regarding their death and punished the wrong Pharaoh... Left to her own thoughts, she absentmindedly began twirling the tip of her braided hair with absentminded fingers.
When the guys returned to the elevator, opting to sit down in the waiting area it left them with no room to really speak openly. With the elevators in front of them, the hallway stretched to the left and right for them. But despite the visibility, there was this weight on each of them against speaking up.
Giving Jounouchi a quiet he hadn't been able to experience. So much quiet that he didn't realize the tears running down his own face until his vision blurred up. From finding Monte about to hang himself, Yugi being shot, followed by Honda getting magically healed by 'Kaiba' of all people. He swiped at his eyes and was taken aback by the trail of wetness on his hand. "Damn, I can't be falling apart right now."
"Now is the best time 'to' fall apart. So its best to fortify yourself by letting those emotions out now." Bakura noted almost completely absently as he sat there. Still plotting as a good DM should on how to handle the doctors' arrival. 'If not Dr. Nakahara, than Dr. Koshin will do. We need to know what his condition is 'now' because the Elder described the wounds 'self healing'. A god with the power to bring back the dead 'would' be valuable. But most Modern Egyptians are Muslim in this day and age, I doubt they'll sell out their faith to trick Set into following them. He literally defies, well he 'and' Yugi defy the very notion of a monotheistic view of religion. Even if Yugi is the Primary, Set would prove there are secondary or lesser ones. Not only that but 'this' one has the power to restore life!'
It was in this state of quiet introspection that Dr. Koshin arrived. Folder in hand and his eyes peeled for this 'group of teenagers' he had been told about. The group was sprawled out, but it had to be them, a bushy, white haired teen, a dark skinned blond. With three other Japanese teenagers sitting with them, one with a walking cane.
"I take it you are the ones here regarding Mr. Mouto?"
That one statement got them jumping to their feet, save the one with a cane. Their expressions were earnest as they turned to look at him, all desperate for news clearly, but also. No family.
"Well... Come with me, we can speak in my office," he instructed gesturing towards the other side of them and down the hallway opposite of him.
"Yes sir," Anzu and the others answered...
A bit shaky by Maliks' reading of their reactions... "What did I miss?" He asked in Egyptian.
"That is not a normal greeting, he's being outrageously rude by local standards. The other doctor it was understandable given where we were found but this? Its too forward," Bakura explained quietly, while eyeing the path they were being lead on.
"Oh well, if that's all," Malik replied relaxing a touch. "Can't say I blame the man, I mean he's also the one who cut Yugi open right?"
"Yes, but people often need normal protocols or routines to help calm them down. This isn't normal or routine," Bakura agreed with a slight nod towards Jounouchi as an example.
"Back to playing dumb..." Malik answered blithely as they turned the corner to the left.
"You mean you've been 'acting'?" Bakura replied in mock surprise only to get elbowed as the doctor turned left again at a door.
Dr. Koshins' name was on the nameplate posted on said door, and when the somber wooden door swung open it revealed a modest sized office. Well, it would have been a nice sized office for two maybe three people, but for six? They were a bit cramped. Dr. Koshin moved behind his desk to sit down, offering what seating he could, for which Anzu and Bakura both claimed them.
Honda hung at a corner doing leg exercises, Malik stayed near the door, while Jounouchi drifted to the file cabinet.

"Are you not coming?" Set asked at the foot of the stairs, his gaze focused on Isis. It was nice to hear Set speak again, for their native tongue to be used. The second he crossed the barrier to enter the mansion, 'Kaiba' disappeared and 'Set' returned. With no one else present he was free to speak normally, as a man and not as Pharaoh. More over, deprived of the Sennen Rod, he spoke...
No, he spoke with shame and guilt, he had already admitted remembering Yugi's death. He remembered his coronation and the funeral. Anyone else would hear strength or pride, but right now, for her and Rashid, they heard his pain. But she shook her head with a reassuring smile, "I will be there, but I have duties entrusted to me by the Pharaoh to Mokuba."
For a moment Set looked ready to argue, then shook his head and continued up the stairs with Rashid.
Leaving Isis with her quiet task, as she waited for the limo to arrive bearing Mokuba. It was not a full lie to Set, for her to say it was a duty given by Yugi. But the teens had each other, Set had her and Rashid, so someone needed to be there for Mokuba. The boy was completely cut off from everyone, Yugi and Mahaado were the two who were growing closer to the child.
Indeed Mokuba's use of 'brother' implied that he saw Yugi as family now. Though Kaiba would ever be the more respected one. Between the assassination attempt coupled with Yugi's absence, there was no one able to resonate and summon Mahaado from his Tablet. More over, a 10 year old was considered near adult in Ancient Egypt. Set would not be pleased to see Mokuba behaving as a child would.
A door slamming was faintly heard through the front door of the mansion. Causing Isis to immediately swing open the door to check the front lawn. Thus the sight of another long black limo greeted her, but more importantly; Mokuba. The boy was in his school uniform, but the driver who should have opened the door for him was left standing helplessly near the front of the car.
Isono, for one brief moment, bore a tragic expression on his face as he watched Mokuba walk up to the mansion. Until he saw Isis, then the emotions were wiped away as clean as though they never were.
"Mokuba?" Isis called out in a gentle greeting, but she might as well have called to the wind as the boy kept walking.
She expected that response though, to just keep walking up to his room. Instead he stopped when he reached her...
"Thanks for looking after my Big Brother," he said, but there was this raw crack in his voice. Making her question if he had spoken much if at all today, so she started to kneel down even as he resumed walking.
Catching herself she followed him patiently, observing as he walked into the mansion, leaving the door open. But she saw his head tilt up and over to where he probably suspected his brother to be. Mokuba sank to his knees, even as Isis hurried her steps, while the first wail of frustration and abandonment rose up.
"I want my daddy! I want my mommy!"
Heart crumbling in her chest, Isis abandoned shutting the door, Superia could do that for her. Instead she went to her knees beside the boy and held him as he sobbed, 'he never met his mother... Oh Mokuba, I'm sorry. I'm so, so, so very, very sorry.' She thought as she wrapped her arms around him. Pulling him against her chest as she rested her head on top of his own bushy black mass of hair. "Its going to be ok... I know this is hard, but the Pharaoh lives. Yugi lives. So long as he lives everything will be ok. I've seen it! I know it!"
"Liar! Big Brother proved that at the Battle City semi finals. Its not ok, all the money in the world and people still leave... Why? Am I a terrible boy?! Only terrible children get abandoned!"
